SATURDAY FOR THE VINTAGE MAINTAINERS
Hi gang,
They are promising slightly more tolerable THI's for today...I'll believe it when I see it. Liinda, How much peanut oil will you need to cover the turkey? Will you save it, because it's not cheap. Cheapy me would have used corn oil. PLEASE be carful, you have only 2 feet and a life spent HOPPING on one leg, while a good aerobic workout, would get dull soon. Loretta, Glad you are at peace with your house and small household. Sometimes the little chores can be almost relaxing. Ginny, I can IMAGINE the inside of a trailer in the blazing heat. I was shipping manager for awhile at a Clorox plant and I'd avoid any reason to go into a trailer mid-day during the Summer...like those torture boxes they used at Devil's Island. Liz, When Bob had a bad stomach, I took his care under my auspices and became expert on H.pylorii. THis site is the LAST WORD on the subject: http://www.helico.com/ Since you are pretty well heeled, your choice off antibiotics won't matter a lot but you can spend anywhere from $60 to $1000 for a course of treatment. Except for the BLOOD TEST for antibodies which probably will show you as positive forever, the other tests require you be free of Zantac and Prilosec and any antibiotic type stuff for several days to a week and free of Pepto Bismol for a MONTH (It is an antibiotic.) I recommend a DIFFERENT array of antibiotics (and take the 4 drug cure) than you had last time 'round because the "wee beasties" rapidly gain immunity. I was amazed that Bob was infected, probably for years or decades and I never showed a positive antibody test????? Barb, That pool looks so inviting. I need a water dip. Now that I think about it, the last time I've been in the ocean was the week of 9/11/2001...Good Lord, how time passes. I HOPE there was no connection...I'd hate to start another war. If another building was bombed, Bush would probably invade CANADA! More later, theater tonight and Korean pot-luck! edit: We are having a 'puter problem. For the last three day, out of the blue we seem to have a couple millisecond power outage that restarts my computer...then the endless scandisc! Since I can hear my printer clunk, it probably means the Surge Supressor is failing. It's my best guess since I don;t see a flash and the microwave is keeping perfect time. It usually goes rammy with a rare power blip! My FIRST fear was the power supply in the computer...a tedious beyond belief replacement but that shouldn;t make the printer blip off and clunk back to restart (that's the dot-matrix Linda, the HP is silent!)Well, first order of buiness is to pull out the desk and repplace the surge supressor...I'm SURE I have another around! I'd hate to rip the universe apart only to find out that the power company is having trouble regulation voltage because of weeks of high power use from A/C's! It happened TWICE while writing this!

Keep fingers crossed. but the new Surge Supressor MAY have done the trick...only time will tell. Of course, urse one thing led to another and I wound up putting GLIDES on the zillion pound desk so that all the drawers didn't have to come out to slide it, disconnecting every wire from the computer, waxing the desk, cleaning the glass, moving the hundred pound 19 in monitor from left to right (every 2 months to ease neck strain.) At least the field of dust p u s s i e s is in the vacuum cleaner! Only fly in ointment is that the new SS didn't have phone line protecion, so I left the old one connected to the phone and everything elso on the new one. I will keep my eyes peeled for a sale on a really top notch SS with EVERYTHING!

Hi gang, Just a quick run in before I leave for my son's house. I'll be babysitting until very late but may be able to get on his computer if the kids let me
![]() I'm going to enjoy that pool. Roger, It is much nicer here today too. Let's hope it stays that way. Glad you got that computer problem straightened out. These machines are wonderful but can drive us to drink if they act up. Oh yes, we will save the oil because the darn stuff is expensive. AND we will be extremely careful with that boiling oil. I did work for those plastic surgeons and we had many, many burn patients. Ginny, the Cajun seasoning did come with a syringe but I found it at Wegman's . There was nothing available like that in our Wally world. Funny how they differ regionally. Oh and yes on the tea post. I will make some tomorrow since I have all the ingredients now. I don't blame your poor DH one bit for firing up that air conditioner. Can't imagine how anyone can work on a roof in this heat. UGH! Hi ya Julie, hope you have a wonderful day. Enjoy every bit of it. Waving to Loretta, Jackie, Shawnee, Barb, Liz and Susan. Later, I hope. |

Hi
Just checking in with you all. Things are quiet here and I have my space back, somewhat. Roger I have a battery back up that I keep my pc plugged into. It gives you a chance to shut it down properly. Of course if you are home when the power goes out. Not that expensive, I think. You might want to check that out. www.apc.com Ginny I sure am glad that your "fired" up the a/c. The heat here has been issued with warnings, especially for today and tomorrow. Don't know how anyone would really make it without the ac. Linda enjoy that pool. I did that one day last week. I went to visit my DS and DGKs. He lives about 2 hours from here and he has an inground pool. I had a great time, even tried to ride "flipper", but he kept throwing me in the drink even if I managed to get on his back. I sure shared lots of laughs with the Dgks. We went to Chuckie Cheese for lunch. Sooooooooo noisy, but the kids had a fine time. I ate the pizza toppings and a salad. Hey Shawnee, busy is a good thing. (I hope it is pleasant busy ness) Enjoy your weekend all. to those that need them.

Busy day on my corner too. We've already taken a huge load to the dump. Going to get the old shed over to the neighbor and then the back will be ready to stake out the back porch/deck.
All's well here. Waving at everyone. |

Thanks Zip for that site, I'm going to have to do some investigational research before my next dr. visit on the 4th of Aug. BTW well water is
My dad was a teacher & we had a summer cottage on the lake. (awesome childhood memories) But I'll never forget the taste of the water. Even kool aid couldn't hide it. The water was only good for doing dishes. Does the brita filter really work Ginny? That site I posted the other day re Plum Island lists the local grocery store. I'm sure they sell the bottled water. I'd fill a camping water jug, just in case. This vac sounds like fun. Well, I wonder if my upper gi and scope will show anything as I've been on nexium and zantac for weeks? I hope it's this bug cus the alternative is a bit scary. I'm also dealing with acute pain in my neck & shoulder today. This happens yearly where I get "stuck". The cure? muscle relaxers, anti inflamatories and a few trips to the Chiropractor. The $$? I'd not know how $$$ it is as we have ohip that pays for all dr. visits, tests and all but $8 for a trip to the Chiro. Top that with my Rx plan of $2 scrips. So at least I don't have to worry about the cost of being well. My needles r $3,500 for a 3 month supply and I only pay $2. Thank the lord for that one. Linda, Turkey at your place? I'm hungry. That sounds like an adventure. I'll bring the Caesar Salad and my knife & fork. Well, I went on a cooking binge a bit myself. Made up Chocolate Coconut dream cookies for 1.3 net carbs; spongebob bread 0 net carbs; and now I've roasted up some red peppers. (Zips fault) I've got some sausages cooking in the oven. I'm cooking them in broth & white wine and will add the peppers & sausages to my famous rissotto (unfortunately I don't get the rissotto due to carb count) but it is amazing. Must be my Italian blood. Well, I'm off, back to Kitchen duty and to surf that Web site Zip provided later. DH is in the back yard building a "fort" with dd. Of course, he took over her cardboard box project and now it's going to be a sturdy tree house that may outlast all of us. Luv Liz ![]() |

OMG I can hear dh in the garage with the circular saw
You should see this tree fort. I gotta learn how to post just one picture Its about 8x8 around the tree. He went to The Building Box OMG. DD is now in the house watching TV. She got tired of watching Daddy. Honestly, this is too funny.I ended up marinating my roasted red peppers in olive oil, garlic & salt. Mmmmmm and the italian sausages are from our local market. They r delicious. The rissotto is resting now before I add my freshly grated parmesian cheese. Amazing food, but I'm no good on the presentation. I'll throw in some crusty Italian bread for dh and Viola! Beina Beina (good in Italian) I'm at 20 net carbs for the day after my red pepper & sausage. I'll just have to keep myself busy while dh devours my rissotto As they say in Italian "Cia" (pronounced chow) |
