Just getting us started. I am running late this morning. My weight is still at 108.5 after the weekend so I am happy with that. I will be eating more carbs today as some of my friends and I will be taking lunch to an elderly friend to celebrate her birthday. She is diabetic so we are taking sugar free desserts. I am taking a sf cheesecake topped with strawberries. I am also taking peanut butter/cream cheese cookies. I will check back later tonight. Vickie

Great job Vickie!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am 108 after my carb up weekend. Two lbs less then usual for a monday. I had chinese yesterday and donuts but not anything else. If i can get to 105 by Wednesday i am trying to add salads for Thursday and friday and see if I can still lose. My rings are so tight I am sure i have so much water right now. Lets see if it can all just fall off in a couple days.
The painter is here. i will let you guys know how it turns out. Ava has a slight stuffy nose. Hoping it doesn't turn into a full cold. In our bathroom I pulled down the old long mirror, so I am going to look for two nice ones to put over the two sinks. I am excited for this change.
B and I went to redesign our built in barbecue. Rather then two tone granite we are doing the top in a solid color. We picked a amber granite color with brown thruout. it is gorgeous. Our pool has grey, brown and some random amber tiles and the amber granite was so pretty. It looks great with the palapa. I wish you guys could all come barbecue when it is finsihed! It would be nice to eat protein together..lol!

I'm back, fat, tired and dehydrated. An 8 hour drive yesterday that should have been 6 - yuck! I am trying to catch up with work and then I will catch up here. Today I get back to basics - water, low carb/low cal food, exercise and sleep!

Va, glad you got back safely. Get some rest and then get back on track!

Janina, your home sounds really pretty. Sure I'll run right over for a barbeque--just tell me when. Please do post some pics of the grill and pool if you get a chance. That is great that you only went up to 108 after eating sweets and Chinese food. That water weight should drop off quickly.

My weight was up to 109 Tues and may be a little higher Wed because I ate both bacon and cottage cheese on Tues. I could feel my stomach swelling up from the sodium. I will be doing a protein day Wed for sure and may continue again the rest of the week. We have lots of veggies from our garden, though, so I have to start eating those sometime.

Hi all, it is late and I am tired and hungrey. I didn't post this am but after eating gyros meat i was up to 110 this am. I tasted all of the salt and had a feeling. it is sure more fun gaining water water weight for cake or pie rather then gyros meat! I am sure I will be down tomorrow. We will see what the mystery weight is. I am guessing 107/108 we will see.

Vickie, I am such a homebody and truely love our home. I picture us entertaining all of Avas freinds as she gets older. would much rather have a pack of kids here then have A at someones else house. We have only been here at year and 4 months and already our house has appriased at 130 grand more then we bought it. In our area only 10% are homeowners. What scares me is how will my daughter ever afford a home here?!? I guess that is what we need to be saving for. I know kids grow up and move....the thought of her leaving us just tears me up. Luckily she thinks she will be living here forever with her husband Ethan(her best friend) that is fine by me..lol! I hear virgina is so pretty, have you lived there your whole life? i hear you about the sodium. lets hope we both have our water weight off soon! So cool you grow your own veggies!

VA, how was your trip? more details please! B and I realized we can't afford any trips until my 40th bday in hawaii(dec) so I will just have to settle for hearing about your guys trips. Our backyard is going to eat up all of our trip money. so how is weight/ what did you eat on the trip?

Ok i will report my weight in am. Tomorrow is my consult. Eyes done is 10 days...it is coming up so soon.

Good Morning. I slept late and DDs are still in bed! The carb-up weight is falling off (thank goodness) for now. I expect the scale will stop around 133. That is where I have been getting back to but have not been below there for too long. We have no big plans for a while so I hope to break through that and get back where I was happy - just below 130. We do have a big night to celebrate the 40th bday of a friend in mid-August so that will be my extra incentive - to look and feel great that night.

Vickie - It sounds like protein is working for you - good job!

Betty - You are a running machine!

Janina - Your yard sounds amazing. I hope you like your bedroom when you are done. When we moved, we did paint our bedroom the exact same color we had done in our old house and it works here too. It is a dark blue but a RL stone finish so it has texture and changes color depending on your angle. It is funny, most of the rooms upstairs are blue but the main floor is beige/green/dark purple. The trip was OK - really just visiting with family and the bay was too choppy for real water sports so we only got to banana boat and that was only once. DDs had fun but also commented that everyone there is loud and talks over each other. We try really hard not to interrupt and to use moderate tones so my big family is always a shock to them. They are also surprised that more people don’t want to play with them. My brothers and sisters and parents want to see the girls, but don’t want to do anything with them. I took them on bike rides and for icecream and we played cards and swam but it would be nice if more of my family actually spent time and talked to DDs - oh well.

Work is still nuts and will be for a while and I need to take bigDD to the dentist this afternoon. Drink lots of water and stick to your plan - you are worth it!

Hi all 109 this morning. I still feel bloated and with tight rings. my eating was perfect yesterday. It can't be pms already. My mom always comments about scales and weight gain when it is really hot. I am wondering if there is any truth to comments. I should weight 107/108. Well I will just keep eating well and see where Friday weight is and to worry about the days in between. Today is my preop....

VA, it sounds like your kids are so well mannered. Since I am an only I always thought the loudness was kindof fun and cool but it was nice to be in a house where I was heard and listened back. my painter only finsihed 3/4 of my bedroom. He isn't the one we used before. he is cheaper. He could have worked two more hours and finished. The half blue half green is throwing me off. Bryan was so mad he is going to finish the job rather then us waiting till next monday to have it done. The green is so differant from downstairs green. i love it. Very soothing, but a bit brighter and with a touch of yellow. Your RL sounds gorgeous! Too bad about your family not doing more with the girls. It is important to your girls I am sure. Or at least it would be nice to show more of an effort, since you were on thier turf thier responsibility. When my cousins ere here with her kids I really made an effort to bond with her kids. She didn't even try with Ava. It is sad but doesn't surprise me that her 5 year old at the time said within 3 hours of seeing me"I wish you were my mommy" in front of my cousin. Hmmm...

Ok all i will report after my preop..

We played hockey after dinner last night. It was fun until I got whacked in the shins too many times and decided it was time to jump in the pool. The water really was like a tub. I actually jumped right in, which I never do.

Weight is down a bit more this morning. I hope to get a good workout in today so that, with some big water consumption should keep that scale moving. I wanted a treat with my green tea last night so I had 2 sf butter cookies. Thank goodness I stopped there and read the package - they have 100 cals each! I need to remember that not all sf is low cal.

Janina - I expect the color of your room will look different when it is all painted. Before bigDD was born, I wanted the nursery yellow. We went through 2 different yellows and never got one that look like the soft lemon that I wanted (they all looked too green and grapefruity). Just before lilDD was born, we changed the nursery to blue. I still remember that when DH and his dad were painting that I freaked out because it looked purple. The blue right next to the yellow looked so different. Once the entire room was done, the color was fine but I still recall that first night thinking that we were going to need to paint it a fourth time! How did your preop go?

How is everyone else doing? Are you all keeping cool and drinking lots of water?

Off to make sure DDs eat something other than donuts for bfast!

Just finishing up with work. I finally broke for a run outside mid-afternoon and just did a little with weights and stomach while I was waiting for code to compile - how pathetic is that! My eating has been good so I am hoping for another drop.

I have been hearing about the Scarsdale diet and it sounds very interesting to me as I already find that low carb and low cal (which means low fat) are necessary for me to lose. I don't need much for bfast, other than coffee, so I think I could handle it fairly well. I might look into it this weekend just to finally get down to where I want to be. Then I really need to learn to maintain!

Off to shower and then bed -

LilDDs friend spent the night unexpectedly and I need to go prepare them some breakfast. My weight is down a bit more - yeah. I feel that plateau is near because my stomach is looking nice and flat again but my butt is not as tight as it was a few months ago. Now comes the hard work - sticking to this without seeing huge losses every day.

Hi all!

Va, that was fast..you felt fat Monday and good today! Yay!What is a day on Scarsdale diet like? When I was on the zone years ago the weight melted off. It worked really well and seemed really healthy. You haven't mentioned swimming in your pool yet this year..you better be out there!

Hi everyone else...what is everyone up to this weekend?

106 today. Yesterday i was so hungrey after doing all protein I ate a low carb muffin. I dropped my last two lbs this am. I held onto them in the heat longer. It is so hot here I can't believe it. I don't even have much of my canyon breeze ot rely on. I have been inviting people to swim all week. The water in my pool feels great.

My mom is coming over this afternon. I am sure we will shop as that is her and my favorite activity to do together. My bedroom looks amazing with the new color(you were right Va..B finished the job) I am so pleaed. I redid everything besides the funature and I still have towels to buy for my ajoining bath and more sheets.

So my preop went GREAT. I love my dr. His preop was so thourough i have beome questioning if the dr that did my augumentation was a quack..lol! He retired one year after BA, I think he was just tired..my breats turned out great. He has spent so much time with me, and so has his staff. I need to avoid red meat(eat fruits and veggies) no meds of any kind, wash down with antibac soap(even my hair) starrting three days ahaid of surgery. Just lots of little stuff. The day of surgery I will be on all fluids and dry toast. Good chance I will be throwing up. I asked the nurse about not eating fruits and veggies and felt so unhealthy saying that. I need to think of how I have been maintaining my final 5 lb loss. B thinks I am getting thinner almost too thin but my scale doesn't say that. i told him that I want to have a thin summer. If my weight is more around 110 in winter I am not so bothered by it.

OFf to ballet, a playdate then Karate...Ava has turned into such a teachers pet with the head teacher. i can tell he just loves her and trys not ot laugh when she does cute things. She will squeeze herself right next to him every activity. They were doing leg kics on the ground and she was almost nose to nose with him. She is really only into her daddy and shows no interest in men so it is funny to see this "crush' on Mr Yanaga. I am happy as she realy listens to him and he is always talking about resect and disapline.

On my way to shower but wanted to do a drive-by. Work was beastly today and will only get worse. I am doing ‘so well’ in my new position that I was just given another one. I need to manage another product PLUS the one I just got handed. I need to be happy I have a job that I like, tolerate, put up with, ah - that pays for my DDs to go to an overpriced private school - that’s it!

My eating has been great and I finally got a little tennis in with DH. I worked straight from 8-6 and then we played for an hour and jumped in the pool.

Janina - I have been in our pool more this year than any other year. It is around 86-87 degrees and feels just great! Your room sounds wonderful - I love soft green. Just this winter DH and I got all new linens and a new bedroom set. We did the hotel thing and went all white - super high thread count duvet, down blanket, sheets - love it!

OK, off to shower. DH is waiting on me to shower first. I always try to because it takes a while for my hair to dry and I can’t stand to blow it - just too lazy.

Where is everyone?

Janina, glad you feel good about your dr. I am looking forward to hearing about the surgery. Hope it is a quick recovery and you get the results you want. Do you always get hungry when you do the protein days? I like the protein days because I lose my appetite.

Va, congrats on getting the vacation weight off. Sorry that work is so hectic for you. I did the Scarsdale diet years ago. It is more difficult (at least for me) than Atkins.

I hope Betty, Ann, Brenda check in sometime.

I have stopped the protein only eating for a while and have been eating more carbs the last couple of days. My weight was 109.75 Friday morning but I hope it will be lower Saturday. I may do some protein days next week.

Just a quick check-in before I head out to do some gardening. My weight was at 109.25 Saturday morning--.50lb less than Friday. That is ok with me since I had a lot more carbs Friday (cereal, yogurt, apple, veggies). Will continue with the higher carbs this weekend and then re-evaluate on Monday. We are off to visit friends that had a new baby soon and then out for an early dinner. I will eat on plan, I will, I will! I put on new shorts that I bought this spring and have not worn all summer because they got too small. They are tighter than I like but look fine. I thought they would help remind me not to give in to the temptations when we eat out.

The baby was so cute. I held off holding and feeding him because I did not want the yearnings to come back. I would really have like to have 2 more children but DH thought 2 was just right and back when they were both toddlers, I agreed. 10 years later, I wished we had waited just a bit and then had 2 more - oh well - you can’t go back.

We are waiting for bigDD to get back from her trip. A few of her friends might come over to swim for a bit, unless they are all too tired. They were up late last night. She called us at 12:30 to say goodnight and DH and I were both sound asleep. We are heading out to play some tennis and then I want to get a good workout in. The weather here is beautiful. Bummer though, the beginning of the week is supposed to be really hot and DDs both have their first all-day camp and it is an outdoor adventure camp. To make it worse, DH is going to be away. I think I will have some majorly cranky girls around here.

My weight is down a bit more today and my stomach is looking so much better. I am struggling to stay away from these gourmet cookies that DH bought last night. We stopped at a new gourmet market for dinner and some shopping after visiting our friends and the bakery there is amazing. I contented myself with a caprese salad that was yummy but he bought lots of cookies and brought them home. I had one bite last night with my tea and another this morning before church. Now I need to go work those bites off!

Va, stay away from those cookies!

My weight was still at 109.25 Sunday so that is a whole week under 110 without any wild swings in my weight. I am very happy about that especially since I have been eating more carbs the last 2-3 days. Now if I could just get back to my regular exercise routine.

I will put up the new thread for us Monday morning. Vickie
