>>>NEW MAINTAINERS, WK OF 7/10<<<

Happy Monday everyone! I will be going shopping today with a friend so should get in a lot of walking. I lost a little of the water weight gain from Saturday and was at 110.75 today. I plan to do an all protein day on Tuesday since I am off from work then. I will check back later.

Janina, I love Chinese food but have not had it in over 2 yrs. Just don't trust myself--love the sweet/sour dishes too much.

I went on an all-day shopping trip with a friend Monday (a mall and pottery outlet) so I got in lots of walking. I won't be doing a protein day on Tuesday--just cutting back on portion size. If I am not under 110 by Wed, I will do a day or 2 of all protein.

Brenda, Va, Ann, Betty--where are you and how are you doing?

Hi all, I am getting ready to go and lift weights, we were having some trouble with our computer so I have not been using it much at all but it is all good and up and running great again. I am at 117 today, not too bad,,, we leave for the beach on Sat. for a week and I would like to do protein most of this week to get down to about 114 before we leave. My sister and her kids are going with us, it should be fun, (as long as my sister does not drink too much). I see you all have been really busy too. I read up on the previous threads. Sounds like everyone is still doing ok with their weight. Of course it is never where we would like it to be.. I hope to get my workout done and some cleaning and errand finished up early so I can lounge out by the pool and relax some today. The pool water is about 86 degrees, l love it warm. Talk to everyone again soon, Brenda

Haven't had much time to read or post. We had a fun weekend - Sat was just a quiet family day and then Sunday DH took DDs canoeing and stayed home to take care of the dogs and do chores. I got a lot done but am still not caught up. Work is keeping me too busy and I have not been eating well. I am up more than I like and it is showing around my middle - yuck!

Good to see you VA and Brenda...I miss you guys when I don't see you...now where Betty?

Vickie, are you doing protein?

Va, good to see you! How have your workouts been? I know when you are running and working out it really helps you. Glad you guys had a fun weekend?

Brenda, I am glad oyu are getting away..yuo work so much and do need a break. Hope your sister is on good behavior also. My pool water is also mid to hig 80s. We don't use the heater but a cover. I love swimmming in warm water!

I am really tired. I am just running doing fun stuff but still I need a rest. I figure when I get my eyes down I will have some resting time then. I can't believe how fat it is coming. We are also busy refinancing our house and replanning the yard, Karate, Ballet, the beach. All of this fun is weating me out. Yesterday my best friend and her son came over we all swam for about three hours and barbacued.

My weight dropped 3 lbs this am. I am 107. I ate a bit of cheese yesterday and it didn't affect me in a negitive way so I might be adding a bit of cheese to my protein fasts. My weight has never come off so quickly with the cycling. But I have been consistantly and slowly losing a bit extra per week. I know if I can watch it all of this week I can get to 104 but I just don't know if it is worth it. 105 is really ok with me.

Everyone have a nice day..
Janina

Brenda, I hope you have a wonderful time at the beach. If you do the protein the rest of the week, you should be able to drop those lbs.

Va, hope things slow down for you. I have the same problem with any weight I gain above 110--it goes right to my stomach.

Janina, I am not doing all protein yet. My weight was at 111 Tuesday morning but think it will be down Wed. morning. I made a large crock pot of garden veggie soup (similar to the cabbage diet soup) and think I will have some of that for supper for a couple of nights. But if I am not at 110 or below by Thursday morning, I will do a protein day on Thursday. Congrats on dropping the 3lbs!

I go back to work Wed and will work the rest of the week. Not sure about the following week. Have a great Wednesday! Vickie

I am up way too late. Can't sleep and am surfing the net. Tomorrow I have a hair appt. I can't wait to get the really fresh look I had awhile back with my hair. i will be running around alot tomorrow and should be asleep. I know part of it is that when i go to bed hungry it is hard for me to sleep.

Vickie, what does a protein day look like for you? Does it help you drop the water. i remeber once you did it without results..or it could have been brenda. i add a bit of cheese in the middle of the day and it is fine. The fat seems to hold my hunger over a bit.
My day of eating looked like this
B egg salad
L egg salad and string cheese
D a super large sausage.

no wonder i am hungry..that isn't much..ok going down stairs for an egg or something..
hope you all are getting some rest!

I am crossing my fingers that the weather holds out this weekend. We are heading to NY tomorrow and had planned on a weekend of being on my sister's boat skiing and wakeboarding so if it rains, I am not sure what we will do. I guess I will pack lots of board games (I'll call them 'bored' games).

I have my exercise clothes on already. I have been in a funk and although it might just be TOM (who knows), I have not been consistently eating well, or taking my vitamins or exercises and today is a new day to start all three! Today will be a busy day for me and my babysitter's Mom just called to say that she won't be coming, she is sick. I might have DDs start some packing and they can get some good time in with the pups - I was worried they would look terrible with short cuts but they actually look very cute and DH even likes them (but they are still scared of him).

Janina - When are you having them done? I can’t wait to see the before and afters. You weight is doing great. I wish I could eat cheese but that and nuts, even in small quantities, seem to make me gain regardless of what else I ate that day. Hope you like your hair. Mine is due for a trim but I never find the time. I usually go in every 3-4 months and just get it cut and highlighted all at once. That is the benefit of having longer hair - the style doesn’t real grow out and I can trim my own bangs.

Vickie - I had good luck with the soup thing last summer plus I loved having fruit again too.

Brenda - I hope you get your weight to where you want it but mostly, I hope you have a great vacation!

Off to refill my coffee and get out those vitamins!

Hi all! 106 today....good!
VA, we have shihtzu and cut thier hair to nothing. it grows back really fast, and they now love thier summer cuts. The first time I cut my boy dogs hair down he moped for weeks. He missed his long hair. Too funny. I am puzzled on the cheese thing too. I think I can only eat it in small quanities and with protein only bc I am the same with cheese..and forget about nuts!!!

Asfar as my hair i am just trimming it and cutting about 2 inches off the back. It is way below my bra strap and middle back. My hair is also really long and just ends up looking like the same style after a bit but when she first does it all of the layers are sharper and I have her put a semi permanent color over my true color(red) that makes it really super red. That only last two months also..oh well! new hair and soon enough new eyes!!! I am getting excited...

Ok gotta run...everyone have a great day!

I ate well today and even got in a semi-decent workout. I have so much to do tomorrow, I hope I don’t need to work much. We are planning on leaving around noon and then will hit the in-laws for dinner. We might need to swing through northern jersey to pick up one of my sisters. She was supposed to call tonight to let me know if she got Friday off but she hasn’t - she is a pain.

I am feeling overwhelmed about traveling without DH. He was explaining the bike rack tonight and I need directions to his parents (he always drives) plus directions home the backway. He said I need to head home via Pennsylvania because of bad construction on the beltway around DC. I am worried about the dogs. We will have a host of dog sitters while I am gone because DH needs to stay over at his meetings and won’t be home at al during the day. I have not packed a thing and had planned on baking up a storm for my mom - oh well. Enough whining for one night -

I have a killer headache now - off to find Tylenol pm.

Janina, I am going to do a protein day Thursday. I did go through a period where the protein days did not help me lose but now they do help. I eat mostly eggs and cheese when I do the protein day. Thursday I will have scrambled eggs with 2 oz cheese for breakfast, lunch will be tuna w/mayo, dinner will be a grilled ground chicken burger with mayo. I will be drinking 80 oz of water plus coffee and a diet drink. I also make the basic mock danish if I get hungry.

Va, so sorry you are stressed out about the trip. Hope you have a good time and that you have good weather. Sounds like a lot of fun with the boating.

Brenda, how are you doing with the protein this week. Hope it is working for you to drop some lbs before your trip to the beach.

My weight was at 111.25 Wed morning. I have got to stop eating the bacon and sausage! I may continue with the protein only through the weekend. Monday, some of my friends and I will be taking lunch to an elderly lady that we visit every couple of months (to celebrate her birthday). I plan to take a salad for me to eat but we are bringing sugar free desserts so I know I will eat some of those. I will check back sometime Thursday.

Hi all,
Corgi, I am doing terrible with the all protein,, I am eating ok, but not as strict as I would have liked, I eat alot of veggies,, but mostly good one, tomatoes , zuchinni, muchrooms, also made some lc coffee cake to take with us and between dh and me it is almost gone.

Va, the weather looks much better for the weekend,, it looks like the rain is going to be out of the northeast today, so the weekend sh ould be good for you, we too were watching it as we want to leave really early Sat morning for the beach as we did not want to sit in traffic, and we di dnot want to get there and have nothing to do if we could not hit the beach for a while before we checked into our rental.

Janina, our water in the pool was 92, it was so nice. I could of stayed in there all night. I hope you have a great weekend, sounds like you have plans already. I can't wait to get away.

I am at 116 today, I dont know why I cant get myself more disciplined like janina, I used to be able to do it. I will try to be good the rest of today, I already had some coffee cake, I have to eat something before I lift weights or I get sick in the stomach, have a great day all , off to work out and then off to work. Brenda

My weight is down again today - yeah! This always seems to happen just before I go away. Now I need to eat well while I am away - I will try but no promises.

Lots to do to get out today and DDs are waiting on me to help with breakfast.

Hi all,

Va, havefun and good luck on eating well, if you eat more then you should you can work that much harder at getting it off when you get back.

Brenda, I have a secret on disapline. I am not disaplined like Betty on the running or staying strick low carb because I KNOW i will blow it. So I have allowed myself cheat days. I cheat up a storm on the weekends(and Friday) and Monday thru Thursday i do not allow myself a cheat. NO MATTER WHAT..I mean why should I? I can do it all I want on weekends. Now that i know I eat whatever I want on weekends, I don't go hog wild. I stop when I am full. Last weekend B brought home donuts..1 dozen. I ate so many of those because i craved it. i also had a chocolate cake here and didn't have one bite because I just didn't need or want to eat it. I think most people here can't cheat because it does something to thier blood sugar and they want to cheat more. Well of course that is me too, but I just don't. By the time Monday comes I am ready to eat clean. it just works for me. When I was strict low carb i ate cheesecake low carb all of the time. I couldn't drop anyweight and sat at 110 for 4 months before I just got sick of it and desided to eat what I wanted one weekend. Bingo i found what worked..can you switch it up a bit and see if something else works..like more calories one day and less the next? Just switch it up a bit..

ok gotta run

Brenda, rather than have coffee cake before your workout, could you eat a protein bar or a protein drink? I am not as disciplined now as I was when I was losing weight to reach goal. I also think I have gotten content with my weight where it is even though I could look better if I dropped another 5lbs.

Va, congrats on dropping more weight. Try to watch what you eat while you are gone but don't deprive yourself to the point you are tempted to go overboard.

Janina, that is great that the carb up days work for you. I have tried it but get scared from the weight gain. I just want to get to the point where I find the combination of foods that will allow me to keep my weight steady but still allow myself to have some good carbs. I do go through periods when I will add lots of yogurt, fruit, nuts, and peanut butter and then will cut back to mostly protein when my weight gets to the "danger" zone (113/114 for me).

My weight was at 110.75 Thursday morning. I did an all protein day Thursday so hopefully the weight will be lower Friday. I feel really good with doing just the protein/fat. I plan to continue with the protein a few more days. Have a great Friday everyone!

Vickie, yes the water weight gain is crazy. I go from 105 fridays to 110 Mondays. Last week three lbs of water fell off on Tuesday. it is crazy how much carbs maintain water. I wish I could do the same..just keep it steady at 105, but this is working for me and everyone is commentting how thin I am so I won't complain. I like my bread and sugar too much to cut it completely out of my life. Good luck with the protein fat fast!!!

Just a quick check-in. I have errands to do before and after work today so it will be a busy day. After the all protein/fat day, I am at 109.5 Friday morning. I will continue with mostly protein through the weekend but will add a small salad starting Saturday. Have a great Friday everyone!

A quick check in here also. 105 this am..just like clockwork. This is exactly where I was last year with my my 110 Mondays and 105 Fridays. I need to see if i can/want to do another protein day and try for 104. Then maybe my Monday will be 109 rather then 110 and I can go from there. Maybe work on getting to 100/105 or even 103/108 would be perfect. We will see. i am at the point where I just am buned out on it.
Ok see you guys later..what are the weekend plans!

Hey guys! Long time no chat! So sorry, but life has been so hectic.

DH and I have been painting the interior of our house over the past couple of holiday weekends ... ugh, whatever were we thinking buying a house with 15' ceilings? Anyway, we have nearly every room complete except for the computer room and DD's room, and she doesn't want hers painted..

Speaking of DD (Sara), thank you all for your prayers for her. The bleeding had stopped for several weeks, but today, she had some again. She is feeling A WHOLE LOT BETTER, so I hope this is just a fluke .. she is still taking the meds, the vitamins, etc. And she's focusing on eating better foods (YAY!) and eliminating junk food as much as she can. She also joined the YMCA and is loving that!

As for me, I am still a running machine ... up to 35 miles a week now. Its keeping the weight off, actually I eat alot less the more I run...not sure if that's good or bad since I now hang out around 92.5 or 93. I feel great and strong, so that's the main thing, right?

The running club at work keeps me going too .. we try and run 4-6 miles a day over the noon hour which is fun. There are about 5-6 people who go. Gotta admire 'em getting out there in the noonday Florida heat and humidity. Thankfully we have a gym with showers in our building so we can clean up nicely afterwards. It really improves my mood for the afternoon, and what a tan I'm getting! I look like I live on the beach (wishful thinking!)

Took a vacation day today, but I've been so busy around the house catching up on things, I think it would have been easier to work today!

Glad you're all doing well!! KEEP ON TRACK!

Betty

Betty, glad you checked in with us. Continued prayers for Sara. I really admire you for your persistance with the running!

Janina, you should be able to get below 105 since you go back to that weight consistently.

I have lost more water weight Friday so I should be closer to 109 Saturday morning. I am doing well with the protein/fat and feel really good. I now intend to continue with the p/f through the weekend. Monday, some friends and I will be taking lunch to an elderly friend of ours and we will be taking some sugar free treats. I will need to be careful not to over-indulge.

Betty thanks for checking in! i am so glad Sara is doing well. i was worried there. She is lucky to have such a fantastic and loving mom. I admire your running and painting. I am having a painter repaint our bedroom next monday i am so excited as the light blue looked great in the old house and terrible in new. I am doing it a really pretty bright sage with a touch of yellow bright happy green. What are you guys doing with color?
Vickie great job on the fat/protein. I get in a groove and it becomes so easy. it is just now B commentted my face is looking alittle thin. I can't really get below 104 without my face taking a toll, but now I feel I can and why not..see this is where the bad thinking comes in. it is healthier for me to be 105, just impossible for scale not to keep going down or up.
see you guys tomorrow

We're really in to the tropical theme in our house (except for the kitchen which is all Mickey Mouse) ...

Our living room is a beige, but we have all tropical rattan furniture there and also in the formal dining area. The dinette is done in lighthouses ... walls also a beige. The family room is casual/tropical.

For our master bedroom and master bath, we chose a very pale mint green and the drapes/comforter are (what else?) tropical ferns blended with pale pinks and pale blues. It worked very well and looks fabulous.

I still can't believe me at 5'3 and DH at 5'5 managed to paint those 12-15 ft walls!!

Paint does make a huge difference though! Definitely worth it in the end!

I think today after my run this morning, we're going to take a drive to the east coast of FL .. there's a great seafood place in Titusville called Dixie Crossroads and they have the absolute best rock shrimp in the world ..

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
