Sat. for the MVM's

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise in my best Gomer Pile voice.
Haven't been on the scale yet but my waist band fits better. I can BUTTON it.

Barb, Those Junior sizes were for young gals and not men but they are the only ones I saw so far that were short and not long and baggy.

Julie, glad you got that straightened out.

Roger, Did the rain stop there yet? We are expecting a nice weekend.

Loretta, I'll do the water post for you if none of the newbies step up. My heart goes out to you. God gal, you have your hands full.

Damn, I'm pooped so will sleep a few hrs and address the rest of you wonderful people later.

Oh the day is GORGEOUS, Linda. It's in the 60's right now with the high going to 75 this afternoon. Air is crisp and clean and blowing though the apartment. I'm glad that waist band gave way. I couldn;t surviive without daily weighing. I doubt I missed a day in the last 3 years. What WILL I do on vacation?

Got the electric bill for June. I'm amazed it was under $65...I thought FOR SURE over $100.

Gym went well yesterday and I did everything (chest, tricepes, shoulders, lower back) gently. Today will be biceps and legs and maybe some stationary bike. Nothing hurts yet.

Everyone stay slim and happy today!

Eyes on DENNIS!

Good Saturday Morning Roger, Linda and All,

Yep, that Dennis sure is becoming a Menace! I am feeling a bit stressed, hopefully I can blow it off, as we get ready for the Birthday Bash tomorrow.

Feel I just got the news the Family were all safe in London, now DS in Florida and this new wave of hurricanes....! He just went home last Monday!

Roger,
Scales are moving down fractionally for me. YEAH! I got that site to come up this morning. So gonna throw in some calorie counting too! Hopefully this will help speed things up...and if only I can get more active.
I LOVE to use sour cream as a tasty sauce on most meats and fish too.
My fav is sour cream, onion, toms, sprinkle of paprika over boneless chicken breasts.

Linda,
Great news on the button fastening!
Hope ya had a rejuvinating sleep, "per chance to dream!"
What are ya burning, barrels and books? Not bras, I hope?

Barb,
Thanks for the info on your DD and the HS aquatics team...just another goal for this little precious one!
DD put her picture in our local paper today for a Happy First Birthday! WE are so proud of her and so very blessed to have her.

Loretta,
Sending renewed energy and positve thoughts your way!

Shawnee,
GORGEOUS "Pail o' Posies!" I'll get the good china out now for tea!

Ginny,
Sounds like your products are a winner. Glad you are successful with that project.

Julie,
Hope you get those 'puter woes sorted, sounds like a good system Norton.

Liz,
Whatcha up to?

Off to start my errands, then DD's for a Fish supper...Thia Salmon and tasty Halibut, with steamed veggies! Dsil's mother is visiting from England to attend Ella's party tomorrow.

to All!

SuSUN

Morning folks.......

Yipee Linda, that sounds like you are losing inches. Pretty soon you'll be back to eating some of your delicious treats!

SuSUN, hope you have a great birthday party. Yes, Dennis is getting to be a problem all right. Peope there are getting pretty adept at handling water, so don't worry.

Zip, take the scale with you on vacation! Yes, I have done that back in my old OCD days. Friends of ours with one of those big "bus" type campers have a scale sitting on the floor in the bedroom. Good reminder also!

Weather heating up here with highs in the upper 90's. This of course is equal to your 80's without the humidity.

Loretta, how's the "child" doing? Isn't it awful to have to do this again? I still don't understand how you got yourself into this other than being such a great person!

to everyone else and have a great day!!

Hi to all

Just progressing here, some days are easy, some days are a nightmare. But we are all alive and kicking. Dh is trying to supress his bringing up past events. They just end up argueing and nothing can be changed. He says it is very difficult and he would rather EXPRESS than supress. He is doing fairly well with the situation. More stress for him, I think

Linda, thanks for the offer on the water thread, but I think I can wait a while longer for someone to step forward. You have done plenty of leading in the past.
Good to hear that your waist band is more cooperative. Sometimes the experience of getting those few pounds off brings us closer to the problems of those that are struggleing with it.

SHawnee thanks for the July bouquet. I am going to try it out for my wall paper.

Susun you sure have lots of worrying going on. Hope Dennis does not get too mean.
Enjoy Ella's party. Poor Leah was sick on her first birthday. You could see it in the pictures we took of her.

Barb the child has some good days. She offers to help me a lot and I appreciate her doing that, even if I have to hunt for my dishes, or spatulas. She will get it. All I need to do is ask her for help. Wish she could entertain herself a little more. She likes movies and will watch them for a while. DH is a TV HOG (he has earned it) though and just wants sports. We have another old tv and vcr in our bedroom that I might introduce her to. Any thing to fill up her time. She is up frequently at night and sleeps during the day. The regular tv is difficult to operate because of the satellilte and antenna switching. Not sure if she could get it or she could watch tv during the night.

Thanks Julie for the hugs. You sure had a similar situation with Nick moving in with you. It takes some adjusting. Any tips for us? Hugs back at you. I don't think normal, will be normal after this.

Zip you will probably lose even more now that you are back at the gym. You have done a great job with your weight loss plan. It is nice to eat some of those foods that are "forbidden" on the Atkins woe. I am enjoying my bananas without any gain.

Hi to Ginny, enjoy your weekend off.

Have a great and peaceful weekend all of you.

Awww Loretta, my heart really goes out to you. I don't think my situation was like yours at all. Nick was so very grateful that we took him in that he cooperates. (most of the time) It does take adjusting after being alone for so long. Many times I wish we had it back but we will some day. This is something I knew I had to do if he was ever going to be a productive, drug free adult.
I wish I could help you. You have a young child on your hands. I'm really worried about you though. She sounds like she needs some place where she can be taken care of 24/7. I know you are doing all you can. What did the attorney ever say? You cannot continue to take this burden on forever. I'm sure keeping you in my prayers and heart. If you have any specific questions, you can email me or PM me. I will answer any questions I can. Love you my friend! We are all here for you.

Loretta,
It's such a shame that at this stage in your well-organized lives this mess gets dropped on your head. I hate situations that are aggravating and don't have a clear resolution in sight. If our 60's aren't FINALLY a time we can be self determinant in what we want, when does it EVER come.
I'll send you some good thoughts through the ether. (I've tried prayers, but unfortunately they KILLED the person with lightning bolts so I won't do THAT again)

Everytime that you come to a crossroads decision, make sure you choose the route that will be least likely to drag things out. Perhaps set a mental time frame that you and DH agree is IT and then stick to it.

Dinner:
Catfish that has been marinated in pepper-lemon sauce at the A&P (came in yesterday and smells as clean as a babbling brook!) I have some leftover cous-cous that only needs a couple minutes heat. Bob is out so it's only me I have to please and that definitely DOES NOT include 2 vegetables with every meal! Tonight catch up on taped STAR GATES!

I;ve been mesmerized with Hurricane Dennis (something hypnotic about that counterclockwise swirl.) It's amazing how it's reformed itself in only the last half hour...it will hit land HARD. Susun, relax, Ordando is completely in the clear...windy but diminishing.
Ginny, Batten down the hatches and get the kayak rady. You will get some SERIOUS rain.

Flying by... Hello all.

Got back down to 130 and have "considered" getting some cardio in Made a low carb pizza with spinach and gooey cheese YUMMY. The crust was a combo of hamburger and italian sausage. M, m, m.

Also made a lc carrot cake and topped it with lc cream cheese frosting (which is the only thing good about the cake) Hope I don't gain.

AND, I must confess I ate some sugar free Russel Stover jelly beans. They were soooooo good... at the time. Sadly the malitol reaction was horribly long and severe

DH is on my Sh&* list right now. AGAIN, he has gone on a spending spree without consulting me. He has in the past framed my art work, purchased cars, audio video equipment all without so much as a word in my direction I try to let things just go by, but it is so infuriating that no joy is ever afforded me in this big ticket purchases. He just purchased a dvd player for the back of his mercedes suv. No not one, but two for each headrest so two people can watch different dvd's at one time Hello, this is NOT what I signed up for!!! yes, we were going to get a dvd player, but I wanted a portable one for plane rides & hotels as well for our little one. Not just in the car. Was I consulted? He became as red as a tomatoe and as angry as this "Dennis" when I talked about the purchase. It was as if the old caveman were saying "Back off woman, you know nothing, this is not your business" What a moron! I honestly wonder why I'm in this marriage sometimes? I don't feel like a belong. He is very old world Italian and his parents r worse. I feel like the PITA tag along trophy wife? I don't like this ONE BIT!

k, sorry for my rant. Will try to focus on the positive. My DD Natalie just flew bye naked She had been running through the sprinkler with her bathing suit on and now it's time to change. What a cutie pie. Good thoughts, good thoughts...

Think thin all.
Liz

Well just plain *****!!! lost a post again damn it all.

Roger, that's a nice low electric bill. Wow! what is your price per KW in NJ? Our last bill was 120 ish.

Catfish, eh? Are you sure it smells like a babbling brook? I can't get past the smell of a fishy fish.

Susan, Whew!! You must be so very relieved that your family in London are alright. What a relief.

Enjoy little Ella's party. It's going to be such fun!!

Barb, enjoy every minute of that lovely, dry weather but keep a close eye out for wild fires. Got my fingers crossed for you.

Loretta, I don't know a thing about Satellite TV but can you get her a little $60, 13" set for her room to keep her occupied? Is satellite difficult to operate or can she just turn it on and channel surf for something that interests her?
We have 6 TV sets here for just the two of us. LOL That way we don't bother each other.

Julie, you and your DH are saints for taking Nick in. Look how good he has turned out. Soon he will be a productive, self supporting, responsible adult. Thanks to both of you, so then you can enjoy your privacy again and feel very proud of what you have accomplished.

Liz, congrats on getting back down to 130.

I can totally relate to your old world DH. I was married to an old world Greek for 12 years until I finally decided in order to stay out of jail for murder, I best divorce him. Best thing I ever did even though I raised 4 kids alone and with very little and sporadic child support.
I am not suggesting that to you but you must put your foot down, HARD to get him under control and out of the 7th century.

Waving to Ginny, Shawnee and lurkers

Hi Linda, Liz,

Linda,
Bill was $64.95 for 461 kwhr so that is $.141 per kwhr. I think that over 600 kwhr there is a couple pennies penalty during the summer.

Liz,
Next time the two of you go out together, sit in the back seat and watch TWO DVD's at once. Every time hubby talks say: "SHHHHH!"

Hey y'all,

Warm and sunny here today, but I know in the next few days Dennis the Menace will most likely change that. We could use the rain tho. DH got our pasture bushhogged yesterday and the yard is cut and weedate so we're ready LOL! Besides, when it's cloudy and rainy, it's a bit more comfortable at work!

Loretta, maybe a simple tv/vcr type deal in her room would help? I know you're taking the lion's share of caregiving on this and it isn't easy. Your DH probably does have a lot of issues with her, but discussing it with her would be a wash. With her mental capacity, she will either not remember incidents and not believe him or she has such a distorted memory of them that she will never accept any responsibility. It sounds like all she lives in is this day, so any past history would be irrelevant. Of course, this doesn't help your DH resolve anything, and he may very well never get any resolution. I hope he understands that and doesn't beat himself up over it. As for you, take care of YOU! Do what you need to do, speak up if there's a need.

Linda, good for you getting out of a bad deal and raising the 4 kids on your own! Takes a strong person to do that and ya done good! So, when will we see pics of your etched tables in their permanent spot?

Zip, that's quite a good electric bill. Are you plugging your a/c into the NEIGHBOR'S outlet LOL!!!

Shawnee, are you still out playing in the yard?

Susan, have FUN and enjoy Ella's party! Don't get stressed out over it, just enjoy! Be careful of swimming lessons in a public setting, there was just a write-up in our paper about all the crap in the pools that can make people sick like e-coli and other nasty bugs. Most of that comes from kids who either have leaky diapers or just use the pool as their own personal potty.

Julie, did you get much sunshine today? Hope all is calm for you now!

Liz, sounds like it's time to put a very large foot down on these major purchases. Fortunately that's something I've never had to deal with, we've always both gone and looked at big ticket items. Some things I get more input in, some things DH does, but we BOTH go and make the decision. IMO it is very disrespectful for one person to make all those decisions (unless the other person just doesn't want to have input). A marraige is a partnership, and something that will affect both parties needs to be decided on by BOTH. Hugs to you!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend, I'm off for a little lurk then some couch time!

Ginny your right IT IS HUGELY DISRESPECTFUL! I totally hear ya Linda. We've been married 10 years & I love & respect him BUT I do not believe it goes both ways! In Chicago HE was upset (poor baby) CUS I WAS SICK! Honestly, I'm not sure how long this relationship will last. We've been through counselling and I believe deep down he does love me, but respect is very hard for him since he has NEVER known it with his parents and his cavewoman mother still continues to live under her man. And this is the Old World I live in. I struggle cus I'm a divorcee with a child from another marriage and it was a huge Taboo on DH's part to be with me. Deep down I know he doesn't want to be like his A hole father, but when it's all you know in life, it's pretty hard.

AND, I don't help much when I let the small stuff just go, cus in MHO it's just not worth it in my mental and physical state. So I empower his bull crap ways in a sense cus I'm just not up for arguing.

As for TWO different dvd's in the back seat??? What ever happened to family values? Unless we had two siblings (which we dont) who were on totally different paths in life there is no need to further alienate the family by having two different video's playing at the same time!

Well, gotta go get ready for church. Here's hoping an hour in God's house will calm me down. I really hate when my way of life is so sh*t on when I give respect to his world. It really is a matter of respect and I feel ill when I think of the lack of it I have in this life.

Here's to a better day! AND I WONDER WHY I HAVE FOOD ISSUES
