Met goal and kept going?
I see so many people whose current weight is lower than their goal.
Did you guys just keep losing by accident, or just keep eating the same and it kept coming off? I would be inclined to reach my goal and ease up to maintain it, so I'm curious what's happening here. So--What's your story???? Any input would be appreciated. Jeepers |

Jeepers,
I think it's just a matter of most maintainers liking a little WIGGLE ROOM so that any short-term excesses don't do too much damage. Some also might think, "Let's see what 5 pounds less looks like." |

I think many times what happens is you reach goal and then you don't know what to do to keep yourself motivated to not gain the weight back. You've spent such a long time getting gratification from seeing the number on the scale go down that it's hard to stop. It's like, what now? I can't go back to the way I used to eat, and yet it's hard to find the motivation to stick to my woe if I'm not losing weight, so what to do?
For me the answer was to focus on body composition and overall fitness. Instead of trying to lose weight I started trying to gain lean muscle mass and increase my aerobic fitness levels. These are harder goals to measure, but they're really much more important for your health than losing weight.

My first goal just wasn't good enough. Once I got there I wasn't satisfied with how I looked or felt. So, I rasied the bar, twice now.

I dropped my goals several times: original goal 125 lbs; then 120; then 115; now 110. I am now trying to maintain between 107-110 but sometimes my weight will go up to 114 if I really indulge in carby food on special occasions. My weight is 110 today (July 8). Vickie

My weight loss has increased since I have raised my carbs, resulting in another 7 lbs. lost. It was not my intention and at this point I am trying to make it stop.

Once I met goal I still wasn't satisfied with my level of bodyfat, so I adjusted it just a little lower. But once I met that, I lost more weight without intention. Sometimes it just happens the best when you're not trying!
