THURSDAY for the Babbling MVM
Good morning kids,
YAY, I broke the plateau: 203# this morning. I am pleased as punch. I think that a smidge UNDER 200 will be the place to stop but for now it's PUSH PUSH PUSH! I'm hanging at a 2214 Kcalcories per day and it has given me a 16 pound loss over the last 57 days. Yesterday was a good proteiny day with chicken TWICE...I kept attacking a BJ's roaster. It left a lot of room for 27 CHEESE IT's (160 kcal) with an ounce of Wispred cheese spread (90) and then a nice 1.5 ounce serving of CHEERIOS before bedtime. Hesus, God bought SKIM MILK by mistake...yecch, ptooey...how can anybody DRINK that stuff. Even the wretched color: blue gray...eccch! WOW did we get rain last night: TORRENTIAL. I couldn't even see the building next door. After it ended in a half hour, they sent out a weather channel beepy red warning of severe flooding for the adjoining counties...even Manhattan! Tomorrow I guess we are expecting the rain from CINDY and then DENNIS is shaping up to be a Doozy for some of us next week. Big news today: It WAS Karl Rove who ratted out Valerie Plame to the newspapers as a CIA spy to get back at her husband for telling the truth about the nuclear WMD's that Bush et al were trying to use as an excuse for the invasion of IRAQ. Poor Judith Miller of the Times is going to jail to shield this slimy rat who should be strung up for treason...along with anyone who ordered him to do it, like POTUS perhaps? Barb, I really can't run; I sort of came to that conclusion at 40 but it's been super-reinforced 20 years later. My knees just are too shot. THey alk alright and they bike very well but with pounding with my bodyweight and the are scraming at me by my third short run. My clue is SCREAMING when I bend to get something from the fridge Crisper! Julie, You must be relieved that the wedding decision is behind you. You've crossed the Rubicon but freed yourself from a tedious hassle. I hope the ramifications aren't TOO extensive. Gotta tell this one: an eccentric friend and her son were on the outs. He didn't invite her to his wedding so she got all dressed up and drove to the Church and stood, while the wedding party left the church, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET! (Like STELLA DALLAS!) Weddings can be tough on people! ![]() Shawnee, Nice to see you (read you) feeling so jolly and chatty. I'm glad lunch was a pleasant affair. I hope Linda, Loretta, Ginny, Susun and Liz (MIA?) have a lovely day! Oh, I measured the one pair of shorts that I like: 4.5" inseam. So now at least I have a goal. I looked for the old, too- tight, faded ones that were MUCH smaller (must have topped out at 2 inches) but I think I must have tossed them because they are nowhere to be found.) METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART today: Shows are MAX ERNST(Surrealism), CHANEL fashions...dresses and suits from the 20's through her death in 1971, ala the empress of pockets: Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. BEt you all have a copy of her "little black dress", a staple of women's wardrobes since it was introduced in 1926. TTFN edit: Jesus, as I was typing a huge set of blasts hit the London subways and buses: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8492258/

Morning gang,
Good rain yesterday and a bit cooler, only supposed to get to 85 today with the sunshine! We'll be seeing more of the hurricane fallout probably at the close of the weekend. Zip, congrats on your plateau breaking. That's a hard thing to do! Have you tried looking at tennis shorts? They generally run a bit shorter than 'normal' ones. Loretta, Bub's doing pretty good with the meclazine. He still has some difficulty walking around (staggering) but if he didn't have the meds he wouldn't be able to even do that. The Old Man sure has heart! Sounds like M doesn't need to drive anymore, doesn't seem that she's responsible enough to be behind the wheel. Hope you can get some resolution with the mental health appt, too bad it's a month away. I'd go for PAT over guardianship. You don't want to be liable for anything she does, just keep her afloat. HUGS!!! Linda, you should be seeing a box probably tomorrow.... let me know that it arrived safe and sound! Shawnee, shorts worked out just fine! Sure is nice to have cloth between my legs and the forklift seat. Good for you and Jacki having a coffee-chat! Wish I coulda been there........ DH is working in the gh, he replaced some benching yesterday and is getting everything set back in place now. Hope he's done shortly so I can WATER LOL Julie, your DGD is RIGHT! Just remember her words if anyone starts trying a guilt trip on you. Re Nick's job hunting, one way to motivate will be to cut off paying his extras, and only let him use the truck for work. Is the Honda still PARKED??? Freedom has a PRICE! Barb, hope the wounds have healed up.... whatcha got planned now that the race is done? Susan, I'm sure you're busy getting ready for that 1st b-day party.... HAVE FUN!!! Hi to MIA's! I'm off to get motivated.

Zip great weight loss and a plan that works well for you. Congrats. Thanks for the advice about the guardianship, I sure was hesitant about that to begin with. One day at a time here. Shawnee I have tried one of you recipes that I have had for a while, it was for Almond Muffins. They turned out great. One of my problems with the baking of them is that I use one of those deep silicone pans and I might switch to using the muffin top instead for a better baking density. Thanks, I thought of you and of all the help you have given me. Julie I am proud too of that DGD or yours. Great advice for her Granny. I personally am glad that you are not going but I did not want to sway your decision. Ginny glad to hear that Bub is doing well, poor pet soul. Thanks to for the POA advice. I'm sort of waiting for the mental health consult and their findings and take it forward from there. Really I do feel sorry for Marcia, her sisters say that she was the brightest of the siblings until she got messed up. She was a practical nurse at one time in her life. Barb dang!!! You probably would have won the race and he saw that you were catching up to him and put a stop to that. Did they put the race results on line. My boys frequently race and I can check the results on line. Will they outlaw glass bottles. Surely they have rules in place. Hey to Linda, Susun and forgive me if I missed someone.

Hey there big guy. CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are doing great. Keep up the good work.
If only the wedding was the problem. Unfortunately it goes much deeper. BUT I'm doing so much better now with the meds and so far no contact with her. Much better that way. Ginny, the Honda is sitting there getting dusty!! Good idea about just using the truck just for the job. He can walk to work but not his NA meetings or out patient group meetings or court. He is going into the last phase of drug court on the 29th and then his meetings and court will be reduced again. I really thought the car would be a big incentive. NOT He has gone online and applied for lots of jobs but he needs to get his butt out there and beg. It'll happen but my problem is WHEN. 85° is way too hot for me. Do you have a lot of humidity? Barb, I too, have my TV on watching London. My heart is in my stomach. Norton has detected a file but won't fix it. Ran AdAware and nothing about it. Ran Spybot and it must have detected it and it had me reboot. Now I'm running Norton again to see if it's gone. We keep getting it. I am so dumb about computers. Found a website on how to remove it and it is just too involved for me. Best run for now, will be back later. ![]()

Late again, sorry. God, I almost stepped on the scale today when I was not yet awake. LOL I caught myself just in time. I'm swearing off that damned thing for at least a week. Been almost back to induction levels...not really counting carbs, but know exactly what and what not to eat. Just natural proteins and dark green vegetables. NO treats to speak of except SF jello.
Those G*d damned extremists!! when is everyone going to wake up and understand that they want ALL non Muslims DEAD and get them FIRST? The USA and European countries have been far too liberal in their immigration and border policies and are just asking for it. Well, it's going to happen more and more, unfortunately. . I wonder when they are going to hit France. On days like this I think what we need are a lot more "Rednecks" with guns to take care of things and not a bunch intellectual thinkers trying to reason with them.. ![]() Off my rant. Roger, congrats on that loss. Keep looking, you will find those 4.5"shorts. LOL I'll be out with my measuring tape looking for them too. Barb, hope your hands and knees are healing well. Oh yeah, Scotland Yard and the FBI. HA!! Neither have done a very good job of it. Ginny, Ginny, Ginny, it was Christmas in July here today. A wonderfully smelling box arrived. Wow!! I'm in heaven and will be ordering a few more things shortly. My mom and DD are in love with several fragrances too. Let me know if you got my check. I mailed it Sat but see it hasn't yet cleared my credit union. Hope your DH got the GH back together for you to water. Those chids need your expert care and attention. Poor babies. LOL Shawnee, Hell sometimes a picnic in the rain can be wonderful!! I like sun but moderate temps and a little rain never hurt anyone. It's a shame that more police departments don't have those programs where law breaking kids are taken to spend an 8 hr. shift in an ER to see what their stupidity causes. Been wanting to do some baking and try some more of your recipes but it's been too darn hot and I've gained that 8 (gulp) lbs. Maybe in a couple of months when this no smoking metabolism settles down. Glad you got a chance to chat with Jackie. Tell her we all miss her. Loretta, it's good to hear you won't go for guardianship. She needs to be in a supervised living situation AWAY from you. You sure don't need that responsibility so bug that MH dept and see if you can get in sooner. I'm appalled that you have to wait so long. Aren't there any crisis units around? Julie, good for you breaking those ties and kudos to your dear, mature grand daughter for seeing that. Sometimes it's best to have minimal contact with our problem kids. ![]() Hope Nick sees the light soon and gets his butt out there looking. Can your DH talk to him? LOL what about that very bright and mature DGD. Maybe she can get through to him.Waving to Susan, Liz, Jackie I'm off to clean a cabinet and then take a shower. Later |

Well, I've been out of it for a while, but wanted to report I'm still here.
I had to back track when I read Julie's not going to the wedding. I admire your courage. What would you be saying if you did go? That it's ok to be treated that way by dd. I also think Shawnee is "brilliant" Luv ya kid, but your killin me. It would be one thing if they actually "listened", but it's like deaf ears. If feels better to "let go". Still love her, but she is on her own. She also knows exactly how I feel and I think that's important. Health? Still struggling, but my little Bro is a nurse & was telling me about two patients. One with cancer surrounding his corated artery (sp?) and the other with a skin cancer that's pretty much eating him alive. Both R dying horrible deaths and THAT reminds me that I am blessed for all that is good in my life. I hope this finds you all in good spirits. God Bless Liz ![]() |

Hi Guys!
Bin on the phone with several relatives in the UK this morning. All are safe. So sad for those that will not be coming home from work today! Yes, Linda when will these politicians ever learn? I had the group this aft with the pg moms, 11 of them ready to quit and 1 just wants to reduce...its a good start. I too buy regular capris and they fit like ankle pants! If I can get petites they fit just right.Shawnee, THANK YOU for the great idea to take Ella for swimming lessons. DD wanted to take her a few months ago and then we have forgotten all about it. Gonna make some enquires.Glad your roof did not ignite, that was too close for comfort. That "shock" video you concocted sounds like a good idea! I am jealous that you can have morning tea with Jacki. A short stroll from your house eh? Loretta, Sounds like good advice not to take on too much responsibility right now. See what the mental health assessment reveals, she may well be able to take care of her own finances, and if she loses them, the state will have a much sterner solution. Tough spot for you and your DH. Roger, Yep, gotta get out that needle and thread, like the old Talior of Gloucester! "Who Wears Short Shorts?"Now who bought the skim milk was it Bob or God? Julie, Glad to see you posting again. What is Nick interested in doing for the summer months. Does he want to make big money or just be occupied? It is a starting point to get him thinking around a summer job. Linda, Yep, that ole scale will do us in every time eh? Hope you get some dry weather today. Ginny, Glad to her Bub is keeping well on the meds. Are you still dabbling in ebay? I am so tempted to put something on there, just to get my feet wet. That is one of my next challenges. Liz, Glad you can look at your illness and find some blessings intertwined. Linda, Wow, induction you ARE being strict with yourself. I did that too and didnt lose. I was so frustrated! I think mine is lack of exercise to help increase that metabolic rate. I need a full time trainer! LOL! Waving to Y'all. Hope tomorrow has no more "Shocks" in store! "It's later than we think." Back again,
Liz, it's good to see you posting again. "love ya kid but you are killing me" is the attitude I finally developed with my DD to. We do have to know when to just stop trying to help. Funny how seeing others with severe medical problems and dying makes us realize just how fortunate we are. Susan, good to see you too. Yes swimming lessons are a must for these little ones. Every one of my grand brats are little fish in the water and now little Nick is learning. It's a safety issue too. Glad your London friends are safe and sound. It must have been so terrifying. Funny joke but you may want to use this next time... It gets rid of those annoying < and> http://www.draac.com/stripper.html |

Liz, we missed you so much. Hope you've been doing ok. It does take courage to do the right thing and I still wonder if I'm doing it right but deep down I know Linda has the right attitude. I have to take care of myself. I can't help her anymore. |
