Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July weekend. We will stay put as much as possible. Seems like our nieghborhood has lots of company with big boats and lots of noise.
Wish I could have better news, but Marica does not have an interest in ANYTHING. She might pick up the latch hook and do one stich that is not right and then put it back down. She will help with simple household chores, laundry, dish drying. I had her water the flowers one day and when I looked later, most of the siding on the house toward the roof was wet. She does not read the paper, do puzzles, could not crochet. I am beginning to think we need to look for some housing different than ours for her. IT takes so long to get thru the system. She sleeps and eats and smokes and rocks. Not much for converstaion except for "wishing that Sam would call" She has a DUI pending in Nevada and an assigned public defender. I am going to call a local lawyer next week about doing the right thing there. I am so sorry for bending your ears. My hope is that all will work out for Marcia for her own safety. She is unable to manage herself. Thanks Shawnee for downsizing that orkid for me. I sure liked the flowers in the picture with general. I sure would like to spend some time in your garden. Sorry for not addressing all of you. My mind is a flitter. I am beginning to think I need a Mental Health consult myself. __________________

Aww Loretta,
I feel bad for you. Marcia's going to ruin your Summer. How does your husband feel about his daughter or is he blissfully ignoring the whole thing. Sorry but I just cannot get the file size on that floral display any smaller than 40K and at that the picture is horrible. Hey Linda, My weight is standing in one place and saluting me too...every morning the same middle-finger salute. Theater tonight...we'll go in early and walk round the Union Park area (that's where people used to take to the soapbox and preach politics.) There's a Pizza joint nearby that serves a GOOD CHEAP LASAGNA, licking lips. Theater around the corner, something everybody liked called MANUSCRIPT (a freebie...shhh!) Weather is absolutely DELIGHTFUL! Last night they had a great fireworks display off the George Washington Bridge (about 5 miles away) down the Hudson and the night was so clear they were GORGEOUS here! BIG Macy's display tomorrow!

Honey, I'm home!!!
We had a great but cold camping trip. We were sitting right on the cliff overlooking the entrance into the Straights of Juan de Fuca. The wind was so cold I had on a sweatshirt, a zip up sweatshirt plus my winter coat. We had a fire blazing the whole time and still had a wonderful, stress free time. No TV, no phone...well, Nick called a few times on my cell. I know a few of us are struggling with our weight..Linda, Susan, Zip, anybody else? I'm going to be starting a new challenge thread over on the Golden Years. Now, how many of you will come on over and join in with us??? I've been home since Thursday eve. and have been lurking some. I'm feeling better everyday. I'm still a little irritable so bear with me. It's good to be home (LCF) again.

Hey Y'all
Summer is here! WELCOME BACK, JULIE You'll be trading that sweatshirt and coat for shorts REAL soon ![]() Glad it was a relaxing time for ya. Zip, what a score on that Sumnmer beach house Montana, hope your day with Mom was great...and the last table turns out great too. ![]() Loretta, you sound so fatigued mentally; the situation is more serious than I'd previously thought, after ya told us her limited activities. Hopefully (as Zip suggested, I'd wondered too) that others don't have their heads buried in the sand re her condition and need of serious help. Here's a couple pics, just for you.. one is a hanging planter, the other is the planter box sans Pup..LOL ![]() FOR LORETTA ![]() I got some serious YARD TIME in today...even ran both lil Red and the JD...it was the weeding and pruning that makes me know I'm OLD To ALL, have a wonderful FOURTH. The Indian quarter of me doesn't see the 4th as a victory day...LOL, I have my End of the Trail flag flying... BUT I'm still 100% American. ![]() Shawnee![]()

Oh Loretta, how DOES your DH feel about his DD and her illness intruding on your lives? I know she needs help, however, it's not your responsibility. She needs inpatient help.
Maybe you should talk to that lawyer about getting that poor woman committed. You really CAN't do this. Roger, how I envy you watching those fireworks over the Hudson. The are really spectacular!! We will have various displays around the valley tomorrow night. We might get to see some. HOME JULIE!!! Boy it's good to hear from you again. We were all worried and hope you are feeling much better. Glad you had such a nice restful time even though it was too cold.Shawnee, LOL I just captured those lovely flower shots Might just use them for an avatar if you don't mind. They are lovely!! I also have a picture of the Chuckster saved, is it OK to use his picture too? Please Never got the last table done. Will do it tomorrow. DH ran the JD and weed eater yesterday, and I feel muscles in my butt and legs that I forgot I had from squatting to do those table tops. Here they are drying ![]() Putzed around with mom today and drove about 1 hr away to Cayuga lake. Nice day for a drive but unfortunately my brother and his wife were out on the lake in their boat so we didn't stay to wait for them That is a long lake...about 40 miles. New bridge in Owego, half way between us and Ithaca ![]() Coming down the hill into Ithaca and the lake... Cornell U is on the right. My old stomping grounds. ![]() ![]() Three pictures of the lake from my brother's RV site ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow, look at all the pics. Shawnee, so glad you made that pic bigger. I saved it to my Webshots screensaver. Thank you very much. Thanks for the welcome back.
Linda, what great pics. Loved the lake and it sure is big. Not sure what I'm looking at on the glass. You etched on them? Serves me right for being out of comission.. Loretta, after going back and reading some of the posts, I tend to agree. Who is Sam? They can't expect you to care for someone who is so out of it. Hugs sweetie. Hope an answer comes quick. Have you talked to your priest or Catholic Services? Keeping you in my prayers. |

Yeah Julie, I got sick and tired of cleaning them just to have them dirty again in 20 minutes so I taped a funky stripe on them and put on some etching compound. Now they are sort of like frosted glass and won't show the streaks or dust so quickly, I hope.
LOL to save my frustration with my 4 x 6 ft GLASS beveled glass dining room table, I just threw a table cloth over it. I'm rather afraid to do that one.Take your time and get back into the loop with us when you feel up to it. ![]() |

Hey everyone,
Had a fun day here, did a little orchiding at our friend the phal guy's place. Actually we spent more money on orchid bark for repotting than we did on plants We must be slipping ![]() back Julie!!! Glad you had a great trip, hope it helped you to regroup some. We've kept the light on for ya, so jump back in when you feel ready.Linda, wow! I like those table tops! We will want pics when you get them back in the house too, see how they blend in with the surroundings. Ya done good! Loretta, still more to you. You can only do what you can, so don't let any guilt settle in on you for drawing any necessary lines. Remember, your first responsibility is to yourself and keeping you happy/healthy. Is M not capable of doing things or does she not WANT to do things? Do what's best for you and your DH re her housing situation.Shawnee, finally you got to do some outdoor stuff! I'm sure Ol Red has forgiven you for getting JD, just don't forget to give him his spin around the yard too LOL! Love the flowers! When we were at our Phal Guy's place we got to see his pup 'Trace'. She's a roadside rescue baby, just a year old now and about 70 lbs of ???? lineage. Looks like a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Boxer/Hound? cross and as sweet as it gets. I brought treats. I have a buddy. When he found her, she was about 6 weeks old, so it's been fun to see her grow up. She takes her treats so gently that I felt confident to let her take one I held in my lips. Phal Guy looked at me like I was a little off (he's just figured that out???) but his baby was a little lady about it. Hi to all our MIA's, I'm off to lurk for a bit before chatting with DSisIL.

What is the Boxer part: broad head/ chest? Have the Rhodie hair-ridge? LOL, on the mouth-lip feeding...that's the Momma Dog and Pup bonding thing..and it works. ![]() JULIE, now don't you just sound all perky! Montana, THANKS for all the nice pics. Your tables will be gorgeous. Does the tablecloth stay in place on the glass dining table? HAPPY FOURTH for the MVM
Good morning,
A good show yesterday and a nice day in town...DELICIOUS LASAGNA, like homemade. Linda, Nice job on the end table tops...did you do BOTH sides and tape only the bottom? Couldn't help noticing the wooden table...was the purple a quirk of light and camera or did you purpleize it witht the acid ! A pretty color in any case. Dig out the Alleve for the glutes.Shawnee, Please tell me what program did you use to shrink the flower basket display file while keeping the picture avatar size? I haven't found a way to Photoshop it. Julie, Welcome back. You jogged my ancient memory on the Straits of Juan de Fuca but I still couldn't place them. Now that I have assigned half my brain's function to the Google engine I found the beautiful Straits...separating Vancouver Island from the mainland. We had a teeny bike ride yesterday morn and tody will hit the trail a little farther because we have no plans for the evening...except to straighten up for Vicki's visit tomorrow, she's on vacation. Off for coffee...slept late. A wonderful Fourth to you all; enjoy the barbecuing. Later! |
