That's Monday - for the Maintainers!

Well, they are sandbagging downstream because of the high water. A lot of snow pack this winter and realyy warm temps all of a sudden. Will be in the 90's all week. It's not the big rivers as much as the smaller ones and streams. Although the Colorado will be out of it's banks in places.

Hey, Linda, grab that paddle and NOW is the time for a really GREAT raft trip down the Colorado!!

Julie, proud of Nick's achivement!

You did a lot but he was one who DID IT!!

Yesterday was a nice nothing day ending with a nice chicken thigh dinner/cauliflower in cheddar sauce and a nice baked Idaho potato for 800 calories. Got a neo-low of 213# which gives me a 6# loss over the 12 day period at an average of 2205 calories per day...an easy number to hold. Even got a popsicle and a couple BUTTERFINGERs in

! Even went to the gym...CROWDED on Sunday!

Mixed feelings about your mom...you still have her

and yet you don't

I never knew anyone with Alzheimer's, well other than a couple Presidents...but the guy across the hall whose wife I am VERY friendly with went downhill over the 15 years I knew him but it was more of a mixed Parkinson/psychosis combo (cops in the walls, still fighting WW2, cherishing HIS medals...that were actually his BROTHER'S), but his tests for Alzheimers kept getting more and more strongly positive til he died.

We are supposed to get showers all week...but I woke to bright Sun. Here's the pattern: when I STEP out of the building, it rains til I get back...then it stops. Joe Bfstplk here!

Good Holiday Monday to one and All!

Another rainy day up here. I know what ya mean Roger 'bout goin out and it rains, Then when you are indoors it stops.

DH is helping DSIL to put up a gazebo frame today. DD is so insistent that she wants it up now, not next week...the poor guys are working in the rain in rain suits and south western hats. Hope DH doesnt catch cold or his Sx will be post-poned.

DD is a tough task master...think she is PMS...ing too!

She did cook us a lovely BBQ meal last night with carrot cake for dessert. My DH's favourite. She also had her DH put a pic of Ella with her Grandad in a special frame saying "Grandad is King," for his bedside table at the Hospital and a lovely "Hang In There" card. It was a special evening last night made DH feel he has his family supporting him. So he can just look on his bedside table at the hospital and see Ella to help him recover.

That is wonderful news on that weight loss!

Wish I could report the same.

I feel I have been "spinning my wheels" and getting no where. Too many curve balls coming my way. I am hoping to settle down into some serious WOE soon!
Too bad the Gym was full on Sunday.

Anyway, we are going to head west on RT 6 tomorrow and see if we can find that Elk herd.

Saw my primary doc today and got my order for yearly blood work. Damn, I'm now up 8 lbs. YIKES.

Shawnee, it will be interesting to see what my HGB and HCT are now that I have completely given up cigs.

Good ol NYS.

Heard today on the news that Medicaid was paying for Viagra for SEX OFFENDERS. I knew NYS was *****ed up, but really

Barb, grit your teeth. You will get through this last week of work.
Looking around for my paddle. I'll be there soon.

Roger, Congrats on that 6 lb loss in 12 days. Darn men are lucky. Weight seems to come off much faster than we poor females.

Here I was blaming the weather person for faulty forecasts and now I learn it's your fault. Stay inside for the next couple of days, OK?

Susan, did you raise a "Jewish Princess"? YIKES!! How does she get away with that behavior? If I tried that around here, I'd find a boot in my ass real quick

Aww your dh will enjoy that picture of Ella. Hopefully he won't be in the hospital very long. Gerard was only in about 3 or 4 days. Best to get out quickly so one doesn't get a bad infection.

I told Chuck at lunch today to get our affairs in order as I really think I'm losing it. He just smiled!!!!!

Barb, just one more week and you'll be back to having some relaxation time. Sounds like you need some too.

I have an appt. with the therapist tomorrow. Not sure what to tell her as I haven't a clue what goes on in this crazy brain. Don't know the cause is .... hope she can figure it out but sure hate to go into the whole damn past years experience. CRAP maybe I'll cancel....sheesh!

Am in that mood again for another new do. Want to let it grow a little but know I'll go more batty if I try. Wonder if I'll look like the little old ladies in the nursing home if I get a perm????? I just need some kind of change.

SuSUN, that card sounds sooooooo precious. It's those little things that count!

Zip, I don't know if you have parents left but Alzheimer's is the worse thing I can think of to have a loved one stricken with in this day and age. Perhaps in the future there will be more help. You are right - you have that person physically, but not in any other way.

I think that the peak flooding stage will be this weekend. NEVER put your house on the edge of a creek!!

Julie, LOL I gave up trying to do anything with my hair but go for it if you think you will look and feel better. How about just letting it grow a little and do a Dorothy Hammil type style. It's easy to keep up and doesn't need a perm. Perms scar the CHIT out of me. I like the way it looks in your new avatar though.

Did you hear on the national news about our lovely governor's election still fighting it out?

I think that is a good idea Linda. Maybe just let it grow out a bit. I love it behind my ears so maybe that's a possibility.

Barb, that's the problem, I haven't a clue why I get anxious or panicy. I do know a time constraint will do it but other than that...take a guess? hehehe
I just meant the past "year" upset with our family. No cost to me exept a $15.00 copay. Oh yeah, we pay for premiums so guess we do pay for it.

Chuck has told me 3 times today it's MONDAY instead of Tuesday. Can't remember chit!! It's amazing I remembered to get out of bed this morning. Ok, trying to be funny and it's not working...I don't hear anybody laughing.
