Getting us started for this week. We celebrated DD & DSIL b'days on Sunday and I ate way off plan. Guess my appetite is back. My wt went up from 109.5 to 114.75 overnight!! So will be eating mostly eggs today. I am working today and Tuesday. I plan to get in a 3 mi jog/fast walk after work today. Will check back later.

Vickie - Wow - I thought I was the only one that could go up 5 pounds over night. I have found, that if I eat cleanly and lightly, I can take it off in just a few days.

Sorry to be lost this weekend. Very busy getting BigDD ready for a week long school trip - she is going to NASA space camp to learn about building rockets. Then I needed to do real work-work and help lilDD finish a big project that is due today. LilDD is home sick today. She ended up with a 101 fever yesterday which explains her odd behavior all weekend - she did not want to eat and was really cranky.

Saturday was bad, bfast out (don’t even want to post what I ate) and then dinner out for our belated Mother’s Day (ate much better at dinner). I did get in a run. Yesterday, I ate well all day and got some late afternoon tennis in with DH. I am down to 133 today. I have been losing pretty quickly to 131/132 but have not gotten below 130 in many, many weeks. I am going to eat lightly this week and then splurge on ‘tea’ with bigDD on Friday for lunch. If I stay clean for the rest of that day I should be OK. We are seeing friends from our old neighborhood on Sunday and I would love to be 130 by then.

I am already in my workout clothes. I am hoping to get in some weights and then another run. Running really seems to help me drop weight.

Did everyone have a nice weekend?

Hey gang! Back to the maintain lane where I can find you!!

Good weekend here .. Ran my fastest 5k ever on Saturday, a 10 minute mile pace, finishing in 33 minutes. I guess those noon-day training sessions in the Florida heat are helping after all!! I was excited.

Afterwards, we went to Disneyworld for the day with some friends from work. It was a fun day, but tiring since I had to get up at 5 a.m. for the 5k to make sure I allowed time for my brekkie to settle before the run.

I've been redecorating my kitchen in Mickey Mouse motif ... stocking up on kitchen items at DW each time we go. Its turning out nicely and Disney stock is WAY UP, thanks to my debit card!!

Anyway, last night, I wanted to take some digital pix of the kitchen and so I climbed up on a bar stool and ended up falling off, hitting my butt and head on the tile floor, knocking myself unconscious for over an hour while DH was outside mowing and didn't realize what had happened. He came in and saw me laying there, bleeding from my mouth (I bit my lip when I fell), glasses laying across the kitchen floor, and I was motionless. The guy thought I had died!!! Anyway, he revived me and man oh man, I am here to tell you, I don't have enough cushion on this bod to handle a 4 foot fall onto a hard tile floor!! I am sore today, big time. And my lip looks like I was in a fight. A little bit of a black eye on my left eye .. don't know how that happened?? But thankful no bones were broken. DH said the first words out of my mouth when I came to were "I WILL RUN TOMORROW" ... imagine that.

So I did get a 4 miler in today at lunch. Actually it wasn't too bad. Hot, but then its summer. But the body is feeling better today. What a stupid thing to do .. to stand on a bar stool ... I feel so dumb. But then I am blonde...

Hope you all had a terrific Monday. I hope to get back out for another 4 miles tonight when it cools down a little more.

Betty

You're right, I am a NUT ... TOTALLY. Who else would run 8 miles on a day in the 90s??

Yeah, I did get some great pix .. hold on and I'll post 'em later. Right now, the family is screaming for dinner!!

Betty, I'm sure glad to hear you didn't hurt yourself any worse than you did. You be careful. I fell myself, at the gym a couple of weeks ago. Talk about being embarassed. I just want to say also, I love your kitchen. I especially love the top of your cabinets. I actually got my picture made with Mickey Mouse at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago. Take care of yourself and keep up that running. I'm sure you know how to handle the hot weather.

Betty, what a collection! The daughter of one of my friends collects Mickey. I see lots of old Mickey items when we go antiquing. Great to see all of you back. Janina--where are you?? I need to get back to basics and get this extra wt off. I know it is just water wt but it is annoying. I am working again today. Will check back later. Vickie

Betty - I love the pictures! Thanks for posting.

Vickie - I know what you mean about back to basics. My body responds so well to good eating. I am down to 132 today but need to move 3 more pounds off and tone up my waist and butt. Seems like these last pounds I put back on have hit my waist, which is really odd for me.

LilDD is home sick again today. The mornings are the worst but I think we will just keep her home all day. BigDD called last night (she is away at NASA Space Camp learning about rockets). She is having a great time but is still not thrilled with the dorms - they are in military barracks. She didn’t shower because she says the showers are nasty but I made her promise that she will shower today.

Off to check on DD and get back to work -

More later or tomorrow morning.

Miss you guys.
I am 107 again eating carbs am(yesterday I shared a cinnabon with A) and salads for dinner with modified workouts..it is working for me.
Hugs to you guys!

Thanks for your kind words, guys, about the pix and about ME!!

Goodness, I looked at my butt in the mirror today on the way to the shower and I have a huge bruise!! No wonder I moan every time I have to sit down!! Then of course, the bruise is on the right butt cheek, so I try to lean to the left when I move around, which hits the bruise and scrape on my left arm at the elbow ... so either way I move, I'm in pain big time!!
NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAND ON A BAR STOOL!!!! Right now, I don't even want to sit on one!!!

I have a few more collectibles to add to the kitchen, but they will be at eye level, so I hope I can manage that!!

No run for me today .. off day. 6 miler tomorrow. I am excited though, that I have racked up 479.6 miles so far this year which finally got me beyond the Florida state line and into Alabama! I think I'm going to make my goal of 1,000 miles by October (I hope), so I'll try to go as far as I can by the end of the year .. who knows? Maybe 1500 miles? Wouldn't that be cool??

Vickie, how goes the eggs?? I know you'll kick that water weight in a flash .. or should I say a flush??

VA, how is your little DD? I hope feeling better!!

Janina, glad you're back! That's great that business has been good, sure beats the alternative!! Hope you have a fabulous time at Disneyland. I know it doesn't take a bit of arm twisting for me to go to the MOUSE TRAP (gee, couldn't tell by my decor, could ya?)

Have a great Tuesday, everyone!!

Betty

Janina - You had me worried - hope you have a great day!

Betty - A long time ago, I was running with one of our dogs and she pulled me over and I landed on my hip (really the side of my thigh) and what a bruise! It was beyond bruise and nasty black/purple and do tender for quite a while - take it easy! (just wait until it gets to the fun greenish looking stage).

DD is still yucky - it is rainy and cold here and I want it to be summer! She is resting now so I am going to run before I figure something out for dinner -

Hello everyone!! It is good to see everyone posts again. I had to work a private party on saturday, and my usual 12-13 hour days were mon and tues this week. I am off today and tomorrow so I hope to get my house cleaned up and flowers for the beds tomorrow. We are so behind on our planting. I am weighing in around 117,, I would still like to get back to 115. I have been doing the coconut oil and it really keeps your appetite down. I am giong to try it till the end of june.

Geez Betty, what a fall you took. I hope all your pains go away so. When I wiped out in my bathroom I hit my tailbone and it tood 3 weeks to heal enough for me to do my bench crunches again. Your kitchen is so cute. I collect gingerbread, and baskets. I did a 5 mile run on monday and hope to do a 7 or 8 miler today.

Vickie,, you really did jump up on the weight overnight. I once went up 4 pounds,, I drank so much water the next day to try to get rid of the water weight that I got more bloated and felt like crap for 2 days,, I am sure yours is water weight from all those bad carbs,, it will go soon.,

Vamom,, it sounds like your daughters are keeping your really busy right now, the space camp sounds like alot of fun, I hope your other d feels better soon. The weather here in the northeast has been really nasty. We opened up the pool and now we are wondering why. It is supposed to be rainy and in the 50s today, where is summer?? How did your run go?

Jonahs granny, you are so small, how do you keep yourself so tiny and motivated to eat so well?

Janina, you are really busy too, disneyland sounds like fun. Good luck with the bday party,, I am sure it will be all worth it when it finally gets here, is it this weekend? Sounds like your ebay business is going well too. Are you still doing the protein thing a few days a week to maintain your weight?

well I am going to go and get my running in, talk to you all later. brenda

I am down to 131 today - yeah! My run was not great - I seem to be losing steam quickly these days when running. I think I need to get back to the gym and run on the track a few times.

LilDD is still home sick. I could bring her in now but she is unprepared for a test that she would be walking into because the books are at school. I will bring her in at the end of the day to get all her missed work and then she will spend the evening getting caught up and will head off tomorrow morning for sure.

Brenda - I am way behind in planting to. I have the pool yard mostly done but have done nothing in the front. I have bought a few things that I need to get in the ground and then need to get some other shade loving annuals. I was hoping for something other than impatiens (because I can’t stand dead heading them) but that is what I will probably end up with.

OK - back to work for me so that I can take ½ day on Friday to catch up with BigDD -

Hi all,
Disneyland was great. We closed the place. I dressed Ava as Belle and she had the whole park commenting. She looked like a perfect mini version of belle. I even did her hair like Belles. I ate too much but walked my a## off. I was so exhaused today. We stayed in and rested. it was really the best day. Avas bday party is the weekend of the 11th. People are already rsvping and getting excited.

I am not sure of my weight. I bought three size 2 dresses online and one is too big. I am anywhere between 107 and 112. It can be one or the next within two days. I am not doing protein anymore. I just got burned out. my meunu on a "diet" day is like this
B/L regular cereal
snack chocolate or nuts..quick energy
D large salad with protein
s frozen yougurt
This is how I used to lose weight before low carb. i am back to that. it is working.
My "trainer" said something that seems so true for my body at least..keep your body guessing. That is why low carb worked so well at first for me. Then it stopped so I carb cycled, that worked, then all protein that worked..now this. When I stop mixing it up, I gain.
CXan I be a bad poster and do indies tomorrow. I am still tired from Disney it was a long day and then we drove home and got here at midnight.
Tired.
Hugs and Hi to all!

Janina - your day sounds terrific.

I ate some nuts last night and my scale is up today - just a bit but yuck! I really want to see 130 by this weekend.

LilDD is still yucky - mostly coughing. I just made her an icecream shake for bfast and some tea. We will just take it slowly this morning and if she gets to school on time - great - if not - oh well.

BigDD called last night - today they get to launch rockets they built. She sounds like she is having the best time. I am a bit worried that she will be so grown up upon her return. Maybe in a positive way -> more responsible, maybe in a negative way -> still wanting to make her own rules - a week of freedom can be a dangerous thing.

DH is away but coming home late tonight - we are fighting over who gets to pick up BigDD - too funny.

Off to check on my sick baby -

Hi ladies - Sounds like everyone is doing good. Betty hope you continue to take it easy on that butt!

Janina, glad to hear you enjoyed Disneyland. A couple of weeks ago was my first visit. I've always gone to Disney World in the past. They are both quite an experience.

I have switched to a higher carb way of eating; similar to SB I guess. At first I gained a few pounds but as of this morning, they are gone and I'm back to siggy. I'm truly enjoying eating more whole grains and fruits in particular. As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing wrong with eating whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meats, and sf yogurt. They seem to be my main staples now. I've had no cravings and it seems to be much easier to keep my calories under control as well.

Hope everyone has a good Memorial Day weekend.

Hi all,
Running out the door to meet some friends at the YMCA. Thier kids pool is really great with fountains and waterfalls. A loves it.
Looking forward to the three day weekend. A is going ot my moms tomorrow. B and I are going to do another fancy dinner.
Vickie, Sometimes when I lose weight with sickness it just all comes back. It is such a bummer. I go up and down as much as you do. I am learning to live with it.
VA, how are the girls? ldd better? bdd not to grown up? Ahh, I love how A and I are communicating and having much more fun but I wish she could be little longer.
Ann, I agree about eating. it seems to be the right approach for us maintainers. You look amazing. Good job at siggy weight. i still have a few lbs that i want to solidly lose for summer.
Brenda, sometimes I drink yogi detox tea when I am blaoted. it helps. how are your workouts.
Hey betty, how are you? I can't believe you are still running woman in the heat and humitidy. my hat is off to you!

See you all later...try to get back before bed tonight!
J PS weight is 110 today...?!?!

OMG, yesterday was a killer. The heat index was like in the 90s at noon when I did 6 miles. I thought I would die. But I made it. Woke up this morning at 94 pounds even.

I guess its true: whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger!!

Tomorrow's goal: 8 miles. The first 4 miles the body can do it. The next 4, the mind has to control the body. It truly is a battle of the mind over the body.

I've lived down here in the sauna belt for going on 6 years. Running just a couple of those years, but still ... I think I am conditioned to make it. Tune in tomorrow..........

Hi everyone! I was back to just over 112 Thursday and I am hoping to be back below 110 by Saturday. I have added the coconut oil back and it really suppresses my appetite.
Ann, the week I was sick, I ate probably 75-100 carbs in the form of oatmeal, fruits, yogurt, salads with beans. I felt really good and my wt held under 110. My wt jumped because I really pigged out on sweets last Sunday. I won't be doing that again anytime soon. As soon as I get back below 110, I plan to go back to the higher carb with the oatmeal, fruits, beans, etc. I will just have to cut the calories.
Janina, glad you had a good time. I bet Ava was a cutie.
Betty, I don't know how you run in that hot weather. I admire you for the dedication. I feel fortunate to get in my meager 3 mi jog/fast walk!
Va, I love nuts but have to be careful. You will get to the 130--just hang in there.
Brenda, are you seeing any other benefits with the coconut oil besides appetite suppression? I am going to continue with the CO. I love the candy I make with it and unsweetened coconut and it doesn't cause me to gain.

I attended the preschool "graduation" of my DGS Thursday evening. Here are some pics. The kids were so cute!

Have a great Friday everyone! Vickie

Ann - I eat much higher carb now but think it is pretty close to Atkins maintenance. I simply stay away from white flour, sugar, rice, potatoes but eat fruit (not just berries, love apples, pears and grapes) and just bought some brown rice to try. For me, adding back in the fruit has been terrific. I just love apples with pb. Then again, for me, it seems to be all about calories these days.

Janina - Have a great time at the pool. Did you ever get that 'mommy' bathingsuit you talked about or are you still wowing the dads? (personally, I think you should give all the dads a thrill!)

Vickie - How goes it?

Betty - I had an OK run yesterday. A solid 3 miles and then I did a few really fast sprints. My breathing is really off. This weekend, I am going to wear a nose strip to open up my nose and I bet I will run much better.

Brenda - Any motorcycle plans this weekend?

LilDD is home sick - just not worth sending her in. DH is taking her to the Dr. just to check things out and then we will run by school at 3:30 to pick up even more missed work.

BigDD is still sleeping. I will wake her by 10:30 so that she can shower before we go out - DH said she was ‘slimy’ last night but she just wanted her bed.

We need to get LilDD well because both girls are going to a bday party tomorrow. It is a lunch at a nearby store/restaurant that does private parties with cooking lessons. It is for BigDDs best friend’s little sister (that sounds very complicated). There are the people we went to Mexico with and lilDD got very close to the bday girl, she is only 1 year younger than lilDD and a terrific kid. DH and I will stay for the party but then they all go off to swim and sleepover so DH and I have the night and next morning to ourselves. We are contemplating some great steaks and some hottub time.

Sunday we have a bbq to go to in our old neighborhood. Should be nice and stressful. The people hosting were really mad (well, the wife was) that we were moving - took it very personally and has been very cool to us ever since. We used to spend almost every weekend together when we lived down the street - we now see them 1-2 times a year. We used to call all the time but just gave up. I get to bring dessert - not sure yet if I will do any sugar free stuff or not.

Oh - I am down to 130.6. I contemplated not eating lunch with DD because I so want to get back to 129 but decided on yogurt for bfast, salad for dinner and lots of water in-between.

OK - back to work for me -

Lunch with DD yesterday was divine. I was not hungry for dinner so I get had sf selzer. My scale was only up .2 pounds today - yeah! I did have a slice of bread at lunch today and a slice of the bday cake but only a salad and I will be good for dinner. DH is out picking up LilDD from the continuation of the party. She is fading fast and will not make the rest of the night nor the sleepover. We will go back and get bigDD tomorrow. There goes our romantic afternoon, evening, morning. Plus, one of my systems is down at work and I can't find the person who can fix it quickly. This day is just going from bad to worse and sure doesn't feel like Saturday. Sorry to be so gloomy but I am just not in a good mood. I am going to go run and hope that cheers me up!

Where is everyone? I need someone to tell me to snap out of my funk and just get over it!

I did half my work, then worked out, grabbed a quick dinner that DH had fixed (he has already eaten) and just finished the rest of my work. I will need to check in with this site a few times a day through Tuesday because the auto-loading is broken so this will haunt me all weekend. LilDD is in bed but nowhere near asleep. I just cannot express my disappointment at tonight. I had so many ideas in my head about us baking a souffle together, ... Ugh!

I hope I ran off that slice of cake. Will the scale be kind tomorrow? I still need to make desserts for our BBQ tomorrow. Might not being staying very long if DD is still sick. I might go do the cupcakes now (DH is fishing) and the pie tomorrow -

Off to pout -

Hi, its late but I had to send my friend some hugs...VA, I am sorry about your night. I hate it when that happens. It seems like whenever I really am looking forward to something I get let down, then when I least expect it something fantastic happens. I am hoping the fantastic is soon.

A is at my moms. B and I went to my store for a bit. igot the most amazing belts in and needed to put them out. I sold three of the 6 in 20 minutes. Crazy. Then we went to Ca Pizza Kitchen. After that we stopped at my best friends and had dessert with them. Carb overload. Oh well. Then we went to see Longest Yad. A entertaining movie. Tomorrow we pick A up at 5 or 6 so we will have the am and afternoon also. The next three weeks will be all about her as she is performing again next weekend in another street fair and then it is her party weekend after that the next weekend is her actual weekend. This kid isgetting a month of Bday celebration.

I am so tired. It is after 1 am here. Going to bed. See you tomorrow.
