Younger than SPRINGTIME MVM on Friday

Good morning all,
Yesterday was a gorgeous day for the ride out to Brooklyn but for me Basquiat is DEFINITELY an acquired taste, that I will never acquire:

A HUGE show.
It must have been school trip day at the museum because every time I turned a corner I was in-line with another bunch of kids being corralled by their teacher...nice kids though, AND NO NUNS!

Shawnee,
I will spend lots of time thinking about your problem but my first thought is the Armour is too much now for whatever reason and too much results in no need for TSH. This quote from a medical journal was good:
Quote:
Polycythemia vera and hyperthyroidism should be considered as possible associations in the evaluation of chronic urticaria.
After all, too much Armour could look to the body and pituitary like overactive thyroid Anyway, like I said, I will stew on it! Hey maybe you should add back some soy!
Though you've probably seen this page, if you haven't you might find it informative:

http://www.kronus.com/tech_service/tech-autoanti.html

Ginny,
Thanks for the help with Phonecia's "child." When separated, of course, she will have to be called ERNESTINE...what ELSE?

My 2 day dieting results are good in spite of one good day one less good day...down 2 pounds to 217#. Really remarkable in the face of yesterday's Chinese Linner which as we all know usually causes a couple QUARTS water retention (at 2 pounds a quart) Tonight we are doing theater (praise garnering show about IRAQ's Occupation) and Bob said let's meet at Curry in a Hurry. I held my ground and said: "COME HOME FIRST, WE'LL DO PEA SOUP!" <I'm SO proud of myself!:>

A BEAUTIFUL day today, like it's been all week: sunny, high's in the 60's. This is the nicest, longest Spring I remember in quite a while.

Hey IT'S THE WEEKEND.

LUV and Smootches to everyone,

Roger

edit:
Hmmm, it seems the IMG code doesn't work anymore. Oh well, it was too good to last forever and I understand that those pics take up LOTS of bandwidth! Sad to see it go though; I had a representatively awful Basquiat to show you...oh they go for $1 Million apiece.

I could do those "cut and paste" drawings also -- I take it that he liked GIN?
Losing weight and sticking to dinner plans - we are so proud!

Our Spring is weird to say the least but enjoyable. Another cold front moving in next week, temps only in the 60's. Trust me, 90's is what we usually see by now.

We have several "special needs" students graduating this year and yesterday I had to give my "you have to wear something under that robe" speech. Zip, I don't know if they HAVE NUNS anymore? They really left an impression on you!!

You two are waaaaaay past me on hypo stuff. I just trust that my doctor knows what's she doing. I have blood work this morning for TSH, but I'm feeling better and better everyday!

Liz, Julie, Loretta, Ginny, SuSUN, Linda, Jacki, watch out for those carbs and calorie's today!!

Later,

Barb

Hi

Thought I had better report in before you all send the posse after me.
Just been enjoying the nice weather and getting the yard and garden together. Been fixing up holes in the yard and putting some grass seed down. Feeling fine as a fiddle.

Hi to Liz good to have you join in here. Thanks for sharing with us. You sure have a busy schedule, all that and having MS must slow you up some. Are you on special meds for the MS? There have been a lot of changes in MS seems like and most are able to live productive lives with remissions of the MS.

Shawnee and Zip you two could get your doctoring degrees, maybe you could "clep" out on the exams. Sometimes all of that knowledge just brings more worries. I find that I tend to imagine more severe outcomes with my little bit of nursing knowledge.
Zip that are work looks like some drawings I have received from my DGkids.
Thanks for the link.

Shawnee, I am impressed with those facilities of the OHSU. You will be in the best of hands. Maybe you will get some simple answers to your questions. Thanks for the detailed explainations of your medical condition. I am impressed with your knowledge. for simple answers and simple solutions. SOON
How is Chuskster handling all of that pup sitting?

Julie have you finished with the halter monitor? When will you get those results? Any more attacks? Dh took Wellbruitin when he quit smoking. Can't remember now how he got off of it, but it sure helped him. Nick out of school for the summer?

Barb hope you don't put some ideas in the graduates heads about being naked under those robes. I remember my Step DGDs graduation last year and it was so hot in the gym, no ac and all of those people. Less was better. On the countdown with you.

Hope you are enjoying this same nice warm weather we are having Ginny. Got that a/c running today. But it is going to rain and cool off some. We need the rain. TGIF for you.

Jackie school will soon be out. Hope we get to hear from you. I miss seeing your projects and pictures of the DGkids.

Linda, have fun you bum.

Morning,

Wow, so much info on this thread today. Last night too with Shawnee giving us her knowledge.

Shawnee, I was totally lost after the TSH. I just had mine checked because of all my symptoms and it was like yours on meds...1.2 So guess I'm normal. My body seems to be in great health, of course my mind is gone. Talk about brain fog!!! I wouldn't know if I had brain fog or not with no brain at all so see...you are in good shape since you know. I agree with Loretta, you and Zip should start your own little practice right here on these bb's. None of the rest of us would ever have to pay a nickle for treatment or dx again.

Zip, I agree with Barb, that painting looks like our DGKids painted it. You and Bob sure do go a lot. Good for you. I too love to go but DH is making me into a "Home lover!"
Whatcha mean you can't put a pic in here? It doesn't work anymore. We need a pic of the baby, ERNESTINE

I tried to put a pic in here too, why won't it work?????? sigh....
This is a pic of bo and his friend Stormy waiting for Chuck to give them a bite of his P.B.toast. Nightly ritual... Stormy will be with us for another week. Nice well behaved fluff dog.

Loretta, yep, the posse would've been out looking for you today. Can ya just visualize that? Horses, cowboy hats and our fat a$$es riding into the sunset, yelling, Lorettaaaaaaaa where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuu?????????????

Nick isn't out of school till Graduation, June 15th. He's done with everything but keeps going to pottery and P.E. Geez, poor kid! He loves pottery but then anything with the arts he's into. Just wish his goal wasn't to be a tatoo/piercing expert. My gosh this kid has so much talent and seems a waste to me but someday I'm hoping he'll find a better use of it.

Heart monitor will be on for another 1/2 hour. Glad it's only a 24 hour one. Maybe a week before I find out the results. I don't think it's my heart anyway. No more spells except for some frustration getting out of my clothes and into my jammies last night. All those wires, shoulder strap etc. hmmm wonder if that will show up on the tape..

Barab, "you have to wear something under that robe" YOU DO??
Temps only in the 60's!! My gosh, we're lucky to have it UP to that. A little sun today but rain in the forcast for as long as they can see. dirty words

Off to get dressed now and head out to the clinic and then to lunch with my gf. Have a good day all...

Hi Y'all

The GrandPup sitting is interesting; I must remember NOT to step backwards onto the 4 lb ball of fluff...he likes to snuggle, and being a Peke, he snorts and snores

Loretta, glad we could rein in the Posse...The Chuckster is in "high gear pouting position" with the Pup invading his space. He's currently in a snit, and sleeping on Bob's work bench in the garage. Pup and BratCat had a "discussion-stand off" outside this AM...a squawky bluejay had to join in, scolding them both...
Glad you're getting up close and personal with the flora and fauna...isn't it a "good" feeling, even if it makes ya tired? I like that productive-tired feeling...(I'm getting tired of being just sick and tired, tho)
Aw, Loretta..I don't really know jack-squat about the complexities of the thyroid: the more I learn, the more I realize what all I don't know..and that in treating its various maladies, One size does not fit all.
Yeah, I'll feel a lot better when I can actually get in to see the REAL Thyroid docs at OHSU...there's enough specialists there to at least make a "majority" Dx
I feel I must have at least some understanding of my T.conditions, cause my Primary Family guy, like most, didn't get much T. training in Med school...the Unknown scares the crap out of me, but I can deal with the facts...so it calms me to learn them.

Hey Liz, hope ya find us here on FRIDAY...LOL, but for future reference, I'll clue ya in...Our ZIP sometimes uses the wrong day and date, and that really adds to the confusion. We've threatened to make him wear "Days of the Week" panties, so he can be current.
So, what's the treatment IF the carotid artery thingy doesn't work?
Good for you, being right on top of your Goal weight. And glad your "experiment" turned out so well!

Barb, you are BLESSED that your doc is female, and picked right up on your need to have your T. tested! Since its a 'hormonal" thing, I think that's why most male docs have to be beat over the head to "get it". Wonderful that she is staying on top of it too. Great you are feeling better.

HEY, about the painting that Zip is not into: Yup, it looked similar to some my GSon was mass-producing, around age 4 ....closer inspection, I saw symbolic stuff, reminiscient (?) of Native "burned in" drawings on hides.

BTW, Jacki's special Siamese cat is polydactyl...and she's named ERNESTINE !

Julie, glad your 24 hrs are in ! LOL, so who among us is "normal"..and just who get's to decide what's "normal" ???
I have enough brain power left to know that most of my family (myself included!) has individual dysfunctional traits, etc...but what the hell, its become "normal" to me. Did ya start the new Anti-D ?
Hey, Thanks for the sweet pic of the FluffBalls! Cute!

Ginny, what's the agenda for your "free" weekend? OrKids, or pupSnuggles? Both?

Zip, I'm running out of steam...Bless your heart, thanks for "stewing" for me. Thing is, I'm showing most all the hypo symptoms and a few of the hyper...yes, it does happen. Maybe the TSH is exceptionally low (hyper) right now cause I've been popping those damned Hydroxyz for hives bout 3-4 x weekly...used to be only that much in a month....if I cut back on the Armour, my T3 and T4 will get really whacky...I'll be too weak to crawl to the Gin bottle, and wouldn't know what the hell it was, if I could reach it...NAW, I'd never make it, I'd die of hypothermia first...OH, the joys of this mess!
Could be, after ALL the facts are in and evaluated...that the Armour will be changed, maybe add in something like Cytomel..or rip out that offending gland! I'm getting colder, fatter, more fatigued, and screwier (is that a word?)

To ALl, have a content weekend

Shawnee

Hey gang!

Not quite so warm here today, but still wonderful weather. I reckon we're supposed to cool off a bit this weekend as well. Yesterday at work I was busier than a one-legged man in an a$$ kickin' contest, but tonight made up for it, plenty of time to do everything and still time to goof off LOL

Loretta, glad to see you back no posse needs rounding up just yet! I really need to get some sun on the right side of my body, I'm looking lopsided from driving with the window open. If I ever quit smoking, I'll do it cold turkey and God help anyone who messes with me...I'll have an EXCUSE to be a real ******!

Julie, around here, schools are out before Memorial Day, and up in MN we were out by the first week in June...does your school system start that much later or just take more breaks throughout the year? I understand what you're thinking about Nick's desire to be a tattoo/piercing artist, but if he has his heart set on that right now just let him run with it. Never know where it will lead him. My only suggestion would be to stress the importance of proper protection equipment (gloves, masks etc) and sterilization of tools. I've seen some gorgeous tattoos and some really bad ones, and it really is an art form. As far as piercings go, I hate to see anything other than ears done. Reckon I'm old school on that! Enjoy your fursitting, cool that Bo is so laid back with company

Shawnee, brain fog or not, I still love you! Sure do hope you get some answers soon, and it looks like you're going to the right place. This weekend will probably see Baby Bull getting her summer haircut and a couple confused pups (the squirts) once she's done. She loves getting clipped down since it feels so good to the hot natured gal to be cool again, but does get irritated with all the extra pup-attention that goes along with it. I'll have to do some Suzy stuff since Mom will be coming on the 21st.... floors are looking a little furry

Linda, hope you're having a blast!

Susan, where are you?

Zip, amazing that the classes were so well behaved. Digging into my memory banks about field trips does not paint that picture LOL! Don't forget with that goal weight that gained muscle has to be figured in.... go to where you're comfortable with not only the actual weight but how your clothes fit!

Liz, hehehe we all post on the wrong day periodically, and one week Zip made us live through 2 Wednesdays in a row. Normally I'm a morning poster, working on caffeine intake, so just imagine how confused I was Sounds like you have a full plate with family and all. Hope the party is going well and your DD has a wonderful time! Here's a little about me... I'm the young'un of the group at 40, I'm a dock goddess by profession (fork lift operator in shipping/receiving), DH and I have been married for 17 1/2 years, our kids are all 4 legged and furry (by choice) and we also have a few hundred orchids in our greenhouse. I also have a little sideline soap/lotion hobby.

Well, off to lurk for a bit, then bed. Hope everyone has a good night!

Hey Ginny GOOD to see a multi-paragraphed post from you...instead of the "fly-by" ones your busy schedule sometimes mandates.

heheee, I can just see Shey and Nitro, eyeballing the newly shorn Bull...who's that? Gotta sniff her out, head to tail. How's the ol' BubPup? Ya know, its been a tad too long since we've seen the FurKids...especially now that the squirts are grown up. (OK, I'll try to snap some pics too)
BTW, poor Julie got the same motherly advice from me, re Nick, via Email...cause we CARE!

I've got to stop driving y'all nutzo with my T. stuff for awhile...when I have some new FACTS, y'all will be hearing about them

Got GBrat bride-to-be a Nuker for gift....damn, I wanted to keep it! 1500 watts, it browns....FIFTEEN !! HUNDRED !! Mine's a 1300, I'm out of date.
Also got her the swishy, soft, sexy stuff for her upcoming Bridal shower...LOL, that I did NOT want to keep...I'm so cold all the time, I need flannel in Summer.
Hoping all goes well for ya when your Mom comes, its not gonna be easy
