MVM BLUE MONDAY

(Sorry I posted on Sunday...too late to delete it...so I repeat

Show was great fun, they used ONE plot "You GOtta Pay The Rent, June" and transformed it into the style of 5 of the great musical composers and all their works...first was called CORN in the style of all the Rogers and Hammerstein stuff...BEST was the Andrew Lloyd Weber segement (ASPECTS OF JUNITA...June (Evita) couldn't pay the rent in the style of Aspects of Love...Lot's of Phantom of the Opera<the Landlord, natch>, Cats and Evita sounds and references ala "STAND BACK, FILTHY LANDLORD"
Four big talents worked their asses off.

Shawnee...
A hypothesis: A woman on the health boards complained of getting severe hives/welts from Splenda. If you are a regular user why not try a trial of 30 days with NONE? If you don't like aspartame, you are near enough to BC to pick up some cyclamate (Sucaryl or Sugar Twin in Canada.)

ARGGGHHH...4 hours to live (now 3 hours 48.5 minutes, but who's counting) til I sit in the chair of the DEMON DENTIST! 5 mg. Valium after breakfast. Bob getting stitches taken out...he had a basal cell (carcinoma?) removed from his leg last week. Ahhh, the joys of many, MANY suntans.
TODAY I get my resutls from last weeks Lp(a)...which will answer the question "To DRINK or NOT to drink"

Loretta,
Your dental horror story threw me into ANOTHER cold sweat! I lost ONE large molar that had been badly filled, infected, root canaled (THROUGH the side of the root,) posted and RE-infected before the crown...second infection was the worst pain of my life: I had it pulled at 5AM. When I awoke from the pentathol, the nurse, the doctor, the LIGHT AND THE CEILING were splattered with my blood and pus...I mourned that tooth for 5 years!!
Your post made me feel though that a lost tooth isn't the end of the world and I'm not alone...thank you.

To all a good day.

Hi Zip and Ginny

Sure glad I could make you feel better about your teeth Zip. I think I cried over each one that got pulled. I felt like it was an amputation. I must have inherited the bad teeth from my mom. She had dentures at an early age. At least most of my front teeth are still there. Don't know what I would do then if I had the "picket fence" appearance.

Ginny the pics of your displayed orkids is beautiful. I see all of those nice ribbons too. Were you the winner of the most ribbons?

Not much to talk about today. Going to do some house cleaning. The tom seedlings are doing well but is still too cold here at night, 40s for most of this week.

Back later I hope.

Loretta

Hi again,
Good News-Bad news at dentist.
Good: He replaced a "white" filling in tooth #2 for $110...it looks PERFECT.

Bad: The BIG filling in first bicuspid that I lost THE DAY of my stent (Jan 2004)...needs root canal post and crown: $ 1300. I spent $1100 on the the bicuspid next door (the SPLIT one, Ginny) and now wish that I had let it go and just did a "pull-out-at- night" bridge for the 2 teeth (keep 'em white with a soak in CLOROX!.) The ones farther back on that side look like silver mines anyway....their days HAVE to be numbered.

Hardest thing is when to start saying say...PULL The Fuc*er! I wish I had NEVER saved the first one (3 so far and the FIRST one is acting up...well 4, but I lost that one ANYWAY! What a friggen waste of money!

I doubt that I will toss away another $1300 bucks!

Sorry for the pity pot but many of us (BEFORE FLUORIDE) will go through this Chinese Water Torture, tooth by tooth so maybe my moaning is of use to you.

If there really was a god, we'd all have been born with stainless steel TEETH!

Hi Y'all

ARGH ! Spent the morning filling out SS (follow up) papers for Bob...redundant crap, answered the same basic questions seven different ways/times. Thank GAWD I had kept copies of everything from Day One...and that I have a good scanner/copier.

Loretta, that was quite a mess re your DH's appointment. Some Docs still see themselves as Demi-gods....with the "on my time and my terms" attitude.
So, has lil Leah turned into an escape artist? I have a difficult time getting over those gates too.

Ginny, we are so pleased/proud to have you as our resident OrKid expert and trophy winner

Aw, Zip...sure hope your demon dentist visit wasn't as bad as anticipated.
Bridges aren't that bad; my Bob has had one for years. He sleeps with it in. Clorox works great.
Hope your Bob is A-ok re that damned carcinoma.

Pretty sure its not Splenda in my case;(thanks for trying to help me).. haven't touched any since I made that Fudge about a month or so back...and have had the hives ongoing since 1997....progressivly worsening. Think stress and the hypothyroid link are the culprits here. Got my file folder stuffed with notes and pics, plus top Endo-thyroid names in Portland and Seattle...ready for Dr appt tomorrow afternoon.
This being old and falling apart crap is just...well...crappy! I'll join your pity party.

Guess my explanation of being a Hives-druggie was effective...I finally rec'd notice that I've been excused from Jury Duty...whew!

Here's a story for y'all Tender Hearts...reading not mandatory ...my ancestry defines my thinking

Yesterday I woke up realizing it was ShawnPup's birthday. (so I'm sentimental and have those darn Heathen Injun beliefs)... I let my mind replay happy times with her.
Kaci called about around 11 am, she had been walking her Pups, Burke and the General, at the Lake by her home...the General got pooped out, so she popped him into her Pup Backpack, and tied his leash around her waist, then continued on with Burke on his leash. She spotted a Pup trying to commit suicide on the majorly busy road along the lake. She caught him and snapped him on the General's leash..(No tags, no ID, just a collar on him)....took him home, called me...said she was bringing the wayward Pup to my house, to use my digital camera, snap a pic ofhim and then make up FOUND flyers...that went well...(charming Pup, btw). She returned to the lake with the "found" Pup and started putting up Flyers on road, (across from the lake,) which is all houses. Lo and Behold, the Pup seemed to recognize a yard, and as they were walking towards it, a family in a van pulled up and asked why she had their dog!!!
LOL, long story short...."Baily" was a digger, had tunneled his escape from their fenced backyard while they were gone. Kaci was SO relieved to find his owners...she called me to report the happy ending...waaaay better than a family pet getting "pancaked" on that road. After all that worry and walking, she had to go to work...tired but pleased.
I was elated too...then went outside to plant some tomatoes..
Screeching in the sky, two mated RedTails were circling, their claws clutching nesting materials...Lovely!

OK, because of my beliefs, the whole day unfolded in a perfectly natural way for me...I believe in signs around me. To help explain, the RedTail had continually circled Bob and I on that windy Dec. day while we were outside, prepping the travel trailer...didn't know what his message was, but then phone rang. Our daughter had died. Since that time, when I go outside and talk to her, a RedTail always appears. Natural as breathing for me.

So from reading the signs, I gave thanks to ShawnPup's spirit for being a Guardian Angel to that wayward Pup....
Gave thanks to DD's spirit for raising Kaci to have such a caring heart...and also sending the hawks to show me that life goes on...
And to Creator for making it a good day all around.

To ALL, Blessings and Contentment.

Shawnee

Cool story Shawnee on the found pup. He is a C-U-T-I-E. That story does my heart good. Reminds me of Spot. I still do see him on occasion. Sometimes he lays in the middle of the road and I think he is a goner but then he resurfaces again. One day I saw him right by the busy highway shoulder in his "dead" pose.

I believe you can find comfort in your "Signs around you" The Spirit works in strange and wonderful ways, if one takes the time to see them. You have picked up lots of blessings from today and your heritage.

Neat story Shawnee and after the day spent at the "Gathering of the Nations" pow-wow in NM and I sense your beliefs and traditions and how much they are related to nature. The white buffalo woman came down from the sky and guided us home through storms of sleet, snow, lightning and rain. Yes, SNOW in May!!

Just got home this afternoon and am tired from traveling. Need to hit the sack early and work tomorrow.

Zip, I'm in the same postion sort of - a pulled tooth and a replacement? I just wish all food could be gumed to death!

Loretta, this is true of amputation (so the story goes) that part of you is gone and you will never be whole again. Teeth are also a part of our body having come in around 5-6 years old. I never did think of pulled teeth in that way.

Ginny, got enough coffee yet? I was way beyond polluted with the stuff today when traveling and all it did was put me to sleep in the truck coming home. I'm so glad I can't drive that thing, it gives me a chance to sleep without a guilty conscience.

Snow showers tonight! Enough! Enough!!

........and our wayward friends are doing what?

sleep well........Barb

Hi Gang!

I had to work today, so up at 6a.m., so i promised myself a nap tonight, all day kept thinking. Yep, fell asleep watching "Millionaire" woke up to "Medium"...first time I had seen that show all the way through. Needless to say, I will be up for a few more hours yet! I overdid it, what a luxury to fall asleep with the TV and no demands on me.

DH has already gone to bed. I had another good LC day, so should begin to drop those nasty 1lbs before the summer months. Our trees are budding everywhere, a lovely sign of Spring/Summer,...those darling buds of May.

Shawnee,
LOVE your story, what a wonderful descriptive way you have with words.
Glad it was a good outcome for all of you. That PUP is just adorable. Glad he is back with his owners.

Loretta,
Yes, I guess we do grieve our losses, even teeth! Sheesh, I never thought of that. They just keep filling them and if they are really on their last legs, they crown 'em. A licence to print money, with all the boomers coming along.
I haven't even tried to climb the gates yet, I know I will fall! Thanks for the warning.

Barb,
SLEEP well, wish I could feel sleepy right now!

Ginny,
Great going on those OrKIDS, wonderful that you picked up all those ribbons.

Roger,
Sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with the Dentist billing$$$$. It is fer the birds.
The Show sounds like a success. How was the spanish cuisine?
Hugs to YOU and to Bob after his Sx.

Waving to Linda, Julie and All!

Me again,

Had a relatively quiet night at work, definitely a good thing since I'm still a bit whupped from the busy weekend.

Shawnee, what an adorable pup, so glad Kaci saved him from certain death on that road! Give that gal a big hug from me. Big to you today too re ShawnPup's birthday. I think everyone with 'beliefs', whichever faith they choose, sees signs in different things at different times. Glad your hawks showed up today for you!

Zip and Loretta, I'm very fortunate I got my teeth from my dad's side... I never had the flouride treatments, although I did get dragged regularly for the cleaning and sharpening. We did drink a lot of milk growing up, but I think genetics plays more of a role than anything. So far I still have all my chompers, but know I will have to make 'modifications' in the near future.

Barb, glad you had such a wonderful time! I'm sure you're glad to sleep in your own bed, but I know the dread of going back to the salt mines Hope you have an easy day tomorrow!

Well, all, off to lurk for a bit.......
