MVM Wednesday
Good morning everyone,
Quiet drizzle here; supposed to go all day. Well, Bob is doing volunteer work and I'm restarting the gym. My guess is that it will be a small crowd on todays board. Susun, I double checked on Monday night...BRAVO did "The West Wing" re-runs all night BUT that was the night that HBO2 had Angels on from 11PM til 2AM...funny your SHOW must be different from our SHO because in the U.S.A., SHOWTIME is the bitterest rival to HBO and they'd NEVER share (and HBO made the series.) Anyhoo, I'll keep looking...if HBO2 does it again I'll get a friend who HAS it to tape it for us. Vacationers, enjoy yourselves. Let's all the rest of us homebodies MAKE BELIEVE we are on vacation today...Let's see, first stop THE POOL! Tonight a BIG job (that takes the two of us)...CAREFULLY pull out the medicine chest (3x5 feet with two sliding mirrors) and pump a pound of Boric Acid into the common wall between Bath and Kitchen...that's where all the PIPES are. I've always had the boric acid in there but if you remember that 6 week leak we had last year, it got very wet in that wall and water renders boric acid null and void...a new coating will re-protect us. (If they are forced to use insecticide, I am moving out...I will NOT spend any time with nerve poisons anymore; I had enough of that in an ancient building I lived in where the Diazinon and other organophosphate poisons ran like a waterfall!)

Hey all,
Warmer today, but still drizzly at times. Acutally saw some sunshine, so that was a treat! Last work day for me this week, took a couple vac. days for the o-show preparations. Zip, we used boric acid in the walls of the gh when we built it, just as a preventative so we could start with a 'clean' environment. It worked! Hope all are doing what they want to do today ![]() L8r, |

Hey Zip
There was an article in today's paper about an accident on 42nd street in NYC. What a pile up!! A pregnant woman 8.5 months, ended up having a c section and delivered a fine healthy girl. Hope the boric acid does the job and keeps the criters at bay. Part of my day yesterday was spreading a dry type insect killer on the lawn. I am sick of picking up dead crickets in my bedroom. Ginny if you would please mail me another of your catalogs. I am thinking about something nice for my DIL for an upcoming birthday. I think she would enjoy some pampering. I think with my company, accident, house siding I accidently deleted your first mailing. Just wait it will warm up nicely soon and it will be another whine. Susun are you back to work this week or having a few more days off? Congrats on those tulips. Glad the kids did not keep you out too late last night. How is your DH doing with his legs? Good to hear from you Barb. LOL on the joke. Good one. Happy Anniversary. Enjoy your trip and those special foods. Shawnee I wanna see you in that new outfit for your DGDs wedding. Sounds like a winner to me. Isn't it nice to have someone younger shopping with you to get a younger idea and approval. That plus the great company. When is that wedding? I know you are sick of making that cake. Is it layers of hearts? Good that your DS is biking. Hope he keeps it up. I sure was happy when my oldest started running for his health. I think getting some endomorphins is a great idea for a more stable sort of living. He has been running for several years now. I do like your new quote, esp. BE GOOD FOR SOMETHING. Thanks. Linda it sure is quite around here. Hope you are having a great time touring and visiting with your family. Check in when you get a chance. Julie is sure is quite around here without your posts too. Now that bowling is finished what will you do for summer fun? Might go fishing today with DH. Those little tom seeds are coming along nicely and I am hoping to plant some of the bigger ones next week. They are even starting to look like tomatoes. But I feel like a nesting hen. Later folks Enjoy the day.

HI,
Been real busy but most of all, wish we could refrain from bashing religion and/or politics. Not good subjects so as not to offend people's beliefs please. I sure don't feel like posting then. If I'm out of line on this thread, let me know and I'll keep to the GY. Babysitting Madison and Logan again today and that is a full time job. Hope all are having a good day. |

Hello Gang!
Guess who is happy today....lost 2lbs already must have been water from the excess sodium in the junk foods I had eaten on vacation.I am eating much more sensibly, although not induction! YIKES! Thank you for everyone's encouragement and supportive words. Roger, Loretta, How do you prevent the Fish Oil from repeating, started up all my supplements agin today...burp, burp! Roger, Hope ya find Angels, yes it is on Showtime at 10p.m. Monday nights up here. I can tape those missing episodes if ya like! Loretta, Yep, back to work tomorrow only doing one group and one day at the office presently. I needed to cut back but still need the $$'s. Julie, YOU keep comin here, I always try to keep quiet about religion and politics. How old are Madison and Logan? That IS more than a full-time job! Ella is only 9 months and keeps us hopping. Ginny, I'ma climbin and a scramlin to get up on that wagon agin! Shawnee, We have lots of drizzle type rain today, so no doubt the garden will enjoy the refreshing drink. Barb, LOVED your joke! It reminds me of the Dentist who says he is tired of workin in people mouths, covered in saliva all day, with all those 1,000s of bacteria, when the proctologist said, Oh yea! Thanks for the reminder, I am slowly cutting out those nasty foods by the day. Linda, Have a great time with your DBro! SuSUN "FEELIN GOOD! Back with the program! Hi Y'all
Most wonderful sunny afternoon here, a real bonus day! Zip, I felt like I was on "my kind" of vacation, working in the yard, enjoying the company of Mother Nature and her gifts. Birds were abundant, singing...even a couple of Redtail hawks graced the sky. Good luck with your "kill" program. Barb, I read with envy your post yesterday...in the Land of caring people and their crafts. Enjoy yourself! SuSUN, YAHOO for you, dropping the lbs, and moving in a positive direction. We're proud of you, Gal ![]() Ginny, this must be a BIG DEAL (o-show) for you to take off work! GOOD LUCK...shoot, you don't need luck, you've got beautiful winners to display. Loretta, that home invasion of bugs does get tiresome, for sure. Our problems are wasps...and gnats. Did ya go fishing? A friend in OK just told me about this catfish caught there weighed over 23 lbs! YIKES, that's monster-sized. I'm sure your Toms will show their appreciation for your mother-hen care. Youi said: "I do like your new quote, esp. BE GOOD FOR SOMETHING. Thanks." LOL, I gotta work on the "be good for something" part. HEY to Montana, Julie, Jacki... Be Content, Y'all. Shawnee

Back again
Loretta, I haven't even tried on that outfit yet Kaci modeled it for me in the store...looked great on HER! The wedding is May 28.The cake will be 3 tiers...has to be huge, 100 guests...plus bride wants to save the top layer for her 1st Anniv. Yup, the cakes are heart-shaped...the whole mess will stand bout 30-some inches tall...white icing with pink and burgundy flowers (I'd like to take the easy way out, use fake flowers...NO, she wants edible, hand made ones...so I'll be a good granny and do it) ![]() Here's the notes I scribbled for myself, to remember what goes where...like various dowels (rebar) and plates, separators, spike pillars...lemon filling, etc. Got all the layers baked and frozen; worked on the 4 bottom layers today, doing filling and "primer" coat of frosting. ![]() LOL, here's what's making me be such a Grouch...HIVES! Doctor appt next Tues. Gonna BEG for referral to an Endo. I'm convinced the damn things are getting worse as my thyroid condition deteriorates. (autoimmune thing) Thank Creator for my DRUGS! Last night, right hip area (is this an X-rated pic?) ...Nawh, this is for medical explanation.. ![]() Last edited by shawneesioux : 04-27-2005 at 10:53 PM. |

Welcome home, Julie! Keep your little butt in here please! Shawnee, OMG Girl!!! Sure do hope you can get that chit taken care of. I've never had hives, so have no idea how aggravating they can be, looks like MAJOR mosquito bites?Susan, WTG getting rid of those couple extra lbs. Are you drinking plenty of water too? Loretta, will email you shortly..... sure glad things have calmed down for you now. Whew, I'm gonna need to find some energy soon. I think it's the cold weather return, but I've been draggin' tail these last few days.

Hey Julie and Ginny
![]() Hope I didn't gross y'all out! ![]() Julie, I've tried all kinza diff. Rx meds, both topical and pills..the only one that has worked is Hydroxyz Pam...it makes me fall asleep, but when I wake up hours later, the hives are gone. Ginny, LOL, they'd have to be Texas skeeters...the pic is actually bout 10" length of my body, and the bottom (tilted) horizontal bump is actually two welts that have merged, making it about 6" across. So much for Show & Tell! ![]() to All. Shawnee |
