Wednesday, April 20 for the MVM's
Hope this works.
Not much going on around here today but need to get a new shower head for one of the showers. Then have to concentrate on getting some lc foods ready for next week. Guess my brother will eat the cauliflower( mock potato) salad, unlike DH. He refuses to eat any vegetables that aren't lettuce, olives or green beans Here is a funny for ya. Back after lots of coffee. ![]() ------ A few days before his proctological exam, a one eyed man accidentally swallowed his glass eye. He was worried for a while, but there were no ill effects, so he forgot about it. Once he was in the doctor's office, the man followed instructions, undressed, and bent over. The first thing the proctologist saw when he looked up the man's asz was that eye staring right back at him. 'You know, ' said the doctor, 'you really have to learn to trust me.' Linda, DH or your brother won't eat vegi's?? It sure makes it hard doesn't it? DH and I decided to eat MORE vegi's. I just get tired of the same ole same ole.
Going to catch a ferry in the morning and go to Seattle and have lunch with my youngest son. Haven't seem him seems forever. Really looking forward to it. Suppose to be sunny and low/mid 60's. Oh Shawnee, I'm NOT giving my Ginny smelly stuff away. I'm keeping it all for myself. I may have to order more though. Great presents, huh? Wish I knew what Lemongrass smelled like. I hear ya on the dust. With Chuck in the basement doing woodwork and/or sanding his car, dust is always creeping up the vents. Grrr Loretta, bowling will end next week. Banquet the following week. First time I've not gotten sick of it by now. But I'm only bowling in one league this year too. Will check in tomorrow..... ![]()

Good morning Linda and Julie,
Loved the "third eye" joke...gee aren't they supposed to be in the middle of our foreheads? Wasn't that weather sublime yesterday? Another mid 80's today (and another SHORT run) but chilly cooldown nipping at our heels for tomorrow. Gosh, how does Gerard cope with scrupolous low carbbbing while hating all vegetables? I'd go suicidal with years of nothing but meat and eggs. I guess salads, salads, salads and salads. Julie, thanks for the cut and paste on the booze and peanuts. Zip GUARANTEES that you'll LOVE the smell of lemongrass. Sort of like lemon peels when they're sliced. Bob OFF today for the first time this month but he's got half the day committed to work at a Senior Center...he arranges for free theater tickets. Can't IMAGINE why .I enjoyed CHILDREN OF DUNE for 6 hours last night on SciFi Channel (taped the last 2 hours because I was getting BLIND!) Damn cable just discontinued our IFC (Independent Film Channel)...we are totally prissed off (TPO?)

Zip, love the TPO!! Will have to remember these wonderful thoughtful little sayings. Thinking while running? thought one went into the "zone" Maybe I'm not going far enough! Enjoy your day Julie, Shawnee, Jacki, SuSUN, Ginny!! Later, Barb |

THinking while running:
"OH GOD it's been 5 minutes ALREADY...I'm not even half way DONE...Step, step, step...ALMOST HALFWAY...OHHH do my knees hurt...watch that truck...gee these shorts look like HELL...step step step...WHY HAS MY WATCH STARTED GOING SLOWER, or even BACKWARDS?...step, step, step, Christ, haven't they fixed that light YET...if I have a heart attack will any of the drivers STOP and call emergency services, or let me lay like a sack of garbage?...step, step, step....maybe death isn't a bad alternative to this RUNNING, step, step step!" Yep, a real ZEN experience! ![]() Last edited by zip2play : 04-20-2005 at 07:42 AM. |

Mornin' y'all,
I reckon I've been doing a good job re the teeth since the visit was done in normal time. She did have to work a bit on the scraping, but all in all it went much better than anticipated (read as she didn't hurt me). No decay anywhere, but found out that tooth is bothering me cause it's got a crack in it. Of course, that means an eventual crown Anyways, I'm all cleaned and sharpened.Weather absolutely gorgeous here. Jeans and tank tops to work FINALLY!!! And just toting the light jacket. This morning I'll be watering plants once I get myself showered and dressed. Shawnee, I know you're tickled to have the yard in shape! Your baskets will start taking off and looking gorgeous soon.....they always do! Have your hostas started coming up well? Our azaleas are fixin' to bloom their fool heads off, hostas are coming up nicely, everything is leaving out well. DH mowed on Monday, so the weeds are even here Julie, looks like the trick is to only be on one bowling league at a time, huh? Glad you're enjoying it till the end! Lemongrass seems to be a perpetual fav, and the company I've been getting my fragrances from I've been really pleased with. I think they're better quality that where I was going, and they were really good! Everyone knows when they come to my house they will see dust and or dog hair. I hate housework, so don't do it frequently (deep cleaning) but we do keep things swept up/put up so it's not too bad. And thank God for dishwashers! Linda, hope the results come back quickly and show you to be in great shape. I know you're excited about your DB's visit....don't bust your butt too hard preparing! DH and I like different veggies, so I don't have to worry about him getting into my broccoli, and he knows his peas are safe! Loretta, sheesh, they must have done some hellacious pounding to knock things off the shelves! I know you're glad it's all sided now. Pics please? When you're done with y'all's vehicles, ours could use a bath too Cool on the 'maters coming up from seed! Were they heirloom varieties? Will be interesting to see how they compare to last year's crop.Barb, enjoy your 5k....a walk is about my speed! Some day I'm going to get a pedometer to see how far I actually walk during a day at work. Zip, did you ever get back to the orchid show? Looks like y'all are a bit warmer than we are, but that will change LOL We've been sleeping with the windows open now for about a week. I love it! Well, all, off for a little lurk, then gotta get moving!

Hey you all have been busy having fun here.
LOL on the joke Linda. That would be an interesting event in a colonoscopy. Was that a brown eye? Hope you have a good shopping trip. When will your brother arrive? Is he staying with you. Our next set of company will arrive in July. I am happy that they visit their dad despite the extra work but I have learned not to get too riled up and even when they are here I try to do my own thing, ie go to bed early and get my exercise done early. I have stopped preparing food ahead of time because no one knows the plan until they arrive. Julie guess you knee has been cooperating for the bowling. How is your Dbrother doing? The one that had the knee redone? Zip love the comic strip. Someone sent me a pic of the late Pope John Paul staring at his lap top. I don't expect many changes with our new pope. Are you going to place an order with the puritans? I am going to wait another week or so, maybe they will send a free shipping coupon too. The 3 for 1 sale is done May5th, I think. TPO is good. My son has another for a computer: IS it a POC? Will wash cars today as soon as I get out of the computer. Later Loretta |

Julie, It's Gerard who doesn't like vegetables. He won't even TRY anything other than salad & green beans.
Enjoy the ferry ride and lunch with your DS. Roger, Got me on how he stands it. Enjoy the last of this beautiful weather. A cold front is moving in with temps hovering near freezing at night, rain and possible SNOW. Lordy you are a glutton for punishment. My sister in law runs about 5 to 7 miles a day, but then she IS half nuts Barb, Nope, test results won't change my way of eating one bit. I figure 50 some years of abusing my body before low carb is what would cause any problems, not the past 7 of eating right. Ginny, Gotta order more of your soap soon. LOL now I wish I hadn't given my mom the lemon grass bar. Does that company have Almond oil scent? Boy I just love that smell. Jergins makes a hand lotion and hand wash that is Cherry/Almond scent but no bar soaps. Loretta, Glad you are getting a few months break between company visits. Yeah, it's nice that relatives care enough to visit but it is an invasion of privacy. Brother arrives Monday evening and he, my mom and I will hit the road for the outer banks and Raleigh on Wed. morning. DH is staying home. When you are finished with your two cars, come on over and work on ours. ![]() Later, I'm off and running again today. |

Hi Y'all
Heading towards a sunny afternoon....not hot, but so pleasurable. Today's posts have been really uplifting... Love the "seeing eye to eye" Montana....LOL, maybe Gerard heard "Eat your vegetables!" too much as a kid. Loretta, I'd say that eye would have to be brown...Wondering if the computer POC means piece of crap. Zip, whatever it is that has made you so upbeat, have some more of it! Where did ya find that cartoon of my relatives? ![]() Ginny, my hostas are in various stages...most are 1 1/2-2" tall. Great thing about that LemonGrass, everyone loves it...unisex scent. Julie, hope you and DS get in some good bonding time. A lil One on One is always good. Barb, so ya get in the zone? Sometimes I see the walkers/joggers on roads with traffic, or even trails...they are wearing the music headsets...kinda scares me for them, they could get run over or mugged cause they are too zoned. The comments on fragrances, especially the Jergens...reminded me of the the few but precious ones I remember from kidhood: Ponds cold cream, Jergens was Almond then...AH, Evening in Paris (I loved the Cobalt Blue bottles ...) later Shawnee

NO, NO, my car is next and it's a Honda!!
I wish I was heading towards KY this summer -- what hospitality! Can I send a relative? I have soooooo many who live in the midwest! Shawnee, back from Walden so soon? I'm leaving on Saturday for my "hermit" experience. I won't be back aqt work until May 3 !! But, I've decided to take the laptop!! So, will be in touch through electronic waves.Ginny, need to check out your "stuff"!! Thanks for the email, I just haven't had time. A walk is for 5 K is great and good warm-up. Linda, you said the right thing !! This LC life style is here to stay with this gal also - I don't care what they find wrong with me. Zip, 21:23 huh -- well, we shall see!! I'll time my walk this weekend and will probably try to speed up as I'm walking. One of my dear friends in NM is a race walker. I just can't see myself swinging those arms and hips in such an exaggerated manner. --- unless of course there was some sweat and reward at the end. Susan (my friend) is 66 and took up race walking when she turned 50. I LOVE those "old success" stories. We lived in NM for many years, got married there, had our one and only kid there, dated there (oops, reverse order) and are looking forward to seeing some very good friends. Barb

Had a wonderful, wonderful day today. What a sunny sail over to Seattle on the ferry. Nothing better than a sunny day to make that water just gorgeous. Had a great lunch and visit with my son, my baby...well, he's 36 yo!!! Ha.. He went back to lunch and I shopped around town till the next ferry. Didn't feel like fixing dinner but took some hamburger out and Chuck BBQ them. He babysat Marisa, the 8 yo as she was sick so when DD came to pick her up, she stayed and ate with us. That was nice! Then she took Nick to get his Senior pics taken. So this was a grand day in my book.
Ginny, I think of you all the time now. I just slathered myself up and smell sooooo gooooood! |
