idioglossic! Glad to have you posting. I understand what you mean about people picking on what you eat. But I think here on the different boards that people try to offer suggestions when someone asks for help in why they are not losing. It is true when we are maintaining or just trying to lose a few lbs, we have to tweak our plans. I find it interesting to see what others are doing. My wt was at 112.25 this morning so I have my work cut out for me this week to get back below 110. Have a great Monday!

Brenda - Your day sounded fabulous!

Vickie - I bet the nice weather will help. I tend to snack less during the spring and summer than I do in the winter.

Janina - Did you and DH finish the entire pie this weekend?

It is really warm here. I was putting DDs school stuff out front while waiting for their pickup an just have on a workout tank top and thought I would be cold - I was wrong. I need to do cardio today - I might do part of it as a run outside if the wind keep away. If this keeps up, I will be planting this weekend. The gardens are all cleaned up so now it is time to add some color.

My scale did not go up this morning after the biscuit and no exercise this weekend - yeah! I am still 3 lbs above where I was but will work on those this week. Because I plan on some good cardio today, I had some minestrone soup for bfast that we brought home from the Italian place Sat night - I just left all the pasta and ate all the veggies. Soup or salad comes with every meal and DDs don’t eat either so they let me take 2 cups of soup home instead - great deal! I also had a Kracker (organic, flax & seeds, pretty lc). Very yummy.

OK - Back to work for me.

It is still beautiful out so I just chowed down a zone bar and am going for an outdoor run and will then finish up inside. DH is off to Lowes (again). This is the time of year when we don't like having a big yard and a pool - so much prep work - but we will appreciate it once all the work is done. He needs more concrete sealer and more mulch. I think I will go flower shopping on Friday after school with DDs - that will give bigDD something to look forward to - she is in a real funk of not liking school because they are piling on the work and she has late Lacrosse every day this week except Friday.

Hope you are all doing well and drinking lots of water -

idio! We are supportive here. Whatever we have done to get weight off and whatever we are doing to keep it off is working..so no reason to judge. Our bodies are so differant and react differantly. By this point of my journey I am positive there is not one way for everyone. i stopped losing on strick Atkins and actually started gaining. I was eating too much cheese and low carb treats to satify sweet cravings and none of it would do it for me. After gaining one weekend and following low carb I said to myself I woul have rather gained that weight with food I really wanted to eat. After eating carbs on weekend and during the week upping carbs but cutting calories I lost. Bingo I found carb cycling works for me! Please come join us! we would love to have you!

Va, yes, the pie is gone but my mom and A also helped B and i eat it..lol! Nice to hear it is getting warmer! So cool about the scale! that biscut wasn't the end of you.

Vickie, good luck this week getting down to 112. I am sorry the protein fast backfired. Seems to me what works for you is more working out. Is your schedule opening up again?

Brenda, yuor weekend sounded fun! How is scale after that coconut candy?

Hi Ann HI BETTY./..how are you guys? miss you two!

I am so up today with water it isn't even funny. I know it is water by now and comes off plus some after weekends. To do carb up you have to accept that is what happens. It takes about a day for water to flush out and 3 days to see if any more comes off for me. But if on Friday everyone was telling me how thin I am, i know this monday i am still thin..yet bloated. On mondays I am ready to do protein again, and had my full of carbs. I don't crave more carbs after a carb weekend, I was less again. It is an interesting way to live and eat but it works and I am fine with it, so here I go for my 4th protein fast!

Ava is ok. She didn't bruise. We had a nice time with my mom. Took her and Ava out for a nice dinner last night. I gave here a card with scratch offs as she loves them. B is still not 100% and went to see a specialist for his back this am. Haven't talked with best freind since i told her I didn't really appriciate being blown off bc of this guy. I bit my tounge and didn't say what a loser I think he is..no car, strange job(don't really know what he does) it is sad that she doesn't think she deserves better.

well see you guys later...I will keep you posted on water this week and how fast or slow it comes off. I will also work on a photo of haircut and new brighter color. i love it...

Janina - I am so anxious to see your hair. If you can put the picture on photobucket, I can help you post it in a thread (I have never attempted avatars but can do regular photos).

Janina, I was at 112 Monday--now just trying to get back below 110. I may try the carb cycling again later on. I did it once but it scared me when I gained while carbing up.

And I am happy to say that Tues morning I am back to 110.25. I just had 3 meals and no snacks on Monday plus I got in a 3 mi jog/fast walk. I lost 70lbs initially by just eating 3 meals and no snacks--you would think I would have learned that lesson by now. So for now, I will proceed with just the 3 meals and hope I can get past the hunger.

Hello everyone,, It is going to be in the 80s today,, I was hoping to sit outside after I get all my work done but forgot that I have to take my son to an ear doc appt at 3pm. oh well. I had the day from hell yesterday,, I almost quit my job as my @$$hole boss decided to be a real jerk,, he yelled at me for the dumbest things and really got ignorant and I just exploded, I walked out,, walked around a bit and went back in,, he left me alone the rest of the day,, guess he knew he pushed one too many buttons. I really wish he would drop off the earth, oh well. On my way home last night around 11pm I hit a deer,, thank goodness it did not do any damage to my vehicle,, I hit it pretty hard, it bounced off the bumper, hit the ground and then go up and ran away,,if it wasnt for the deer hair on the bumper I think my DH would have thought I was crazy,, I havent looked at it outside in better light, we checked it out in the garage last night and it seemed ok. My weigh is still at 116, so I guess that is where I need to try and stay, I wanted to get back below 15, but I am happy with where I am at for now, I am going to run a few miles to day and weighlift.

Vickie, your stats are incredible,, I dont know how you can get by with only 3 meals,, good for you, i have to eat every 3 hours or I binge big time.

Janina, i cant believe you ever weighted 180, you are so tiny,I was just reading your stats, still waiting to see those hair pics, glad to hear that A is ok and no bruising. I am sure it is pool weather there. HOpe your DH gets his back fixed up,, that is a bummer.

Vamom, I am getting myself ready to work on planting here too, reading your posts is making me say"get out of the house and work on the gardens forget the house work,, haha" I hope to make the cinnamon flax bread today.

Well I got to go and run, and maybe put something in the crockpot for dinner. Hope you all have a great day. Brenda

Vickie - I am with Brenda - when I just eat 3 meals I tend to fall of the wagon and snack on bad stuff - you have terrific will power!

Brenda - Sorry about the bad day. Maybe if you maintain at 116 for a few weeks you could then kickup the exercise a bit and cut down on eating just a little to get under 115. My real goal is 128 but I am happy to maintain at 130 for now.

Scale is down today - yeah! I am almost below 130 again - maybe by Friday. I seem to go down @3 pounds from night to morning. I really wanted some lc icecream last night so I jumped on the scale and it looked good so I had a lc icecream bar - yummy.

B - coffee, kracker w/ herb cc, minestrone soup
12:00 - zone bar
E - 25 min run
4:00 - ½ wrap w/ herb cc & turkey
E - 25 min elliptical, 10 min stomach
6:00 - chicken, salad, spag squash, 1/3 biscuit
9:00 - lc icecream bar
W - 164 oz

Off to finish getting ready for work. I need to go into our local office to do an internet presentation today - our office is casual but because I don’t go in often, I want to look nice.

Hi everyone,
After long posts being eaten yesterday, I am alittle nervous to make it too long. i might split it us a bit. If I forget some of what I wanted to say yesterday I apologize. B is seing a phsical therapist today as his back pain is getting wose. He has a pinched nerve. Anyone have this? Heard about it? Is it really that painful? It seems it usually heals on its own in about a week or two. This has been going on fro almost two and B is driving me nuts.

Weight 108.5. i was 112 yesterday. Crazy, huh! I was 107 last Friday and was positive I couldn't have gained all tha weight. I will see if I can get to 105 this week before carb up. appitite is gone again this am.

VA, I will take photos and email them to you as I can't figure out photosuite. maybe you can post one in thread so Brenda can see, as she was also curious. Didn't you give me your email awhile back. Or i can try photsuite again....and give you my code. Thanks for your help. I would love to see new photos of youalso. The last of you and dh on vacation I saw were outstanding. You tow are so tall and goodlooking...both of you!

Vickie carb cycling is great for me, but you have to not get scared when you see water weight after a carb up. It was strange at first but I am used to it!

Brenda, what a day yuo had yesterday. When it rains it pours. i hope today is a much better day....more in a sec..

So as far as weight....I could have been more then 180. I had a very light scale at that time. This was 6 weeks after birth of dd. I lost my baby weight in 4 months. My stats intially were just the stats when I started low carb..115. I then realized I wanted my stas to reflect what i am capable of weighing and what I can do to lose it. I weighed 117 8 weeks into my pregnancy and got up to 197 when i went in the hospital to have A.

I felt invisible when I was that heavy. I had never felt that way before. I get starbucks for free from a 19 year old boy that admires me, and so forth. I dress young and look younger. To get it off I put A in the pack and walked 3 hours a day up and down hills. She was a bad sleeper and she would sleep away in that pack. I wasn't breast feeding so I wasn't too concerned on what I was eating. I just kept calories to 1000 or under. At four months I was about 115/117 in size 2/4. I am size 0 now at 105/112. If I could do that, I can do anything. I don't have an excuse!

Brenda you are so slim also 116 at your height is so great. I hope you feel good about it!!

ok gotta go..see yuo later

Janina, if you have you pics in a folder on your computer, you can go to www.tinypic.com and upload your pics and then post them here, it is really easy. you click the browse button and it will take you to places that you have your pics,,mine are in a folder on my computer called "my pictures" or you can upload them into your pic gallery that you have available on this website,, I hope I am making sense. What a day! I got to the office on time and made it successfully into my boss’s office only to find that I had left my wireless card in my laptop and my network card was sitting at home - that meant I couldn’t get on the network to do the presentation and everything I had so carefully set up on my laptop was useless. Thankfully, one of the guys in the office had an old cpu and we dusted it off and got it working and I had emailed myself all my files just in case. We had a lot of trouble with the machine but got it all working at 11:29 (presentation was to begin at 11:30)! I did have 2 problems with the demo because of the network setup but I had explained in the beginning that I had hardware trouble so I think everyone understood. I did not love the slide presentation but think the demo went well and was able to answer every question - one I need to followup on. I finished just in time to dash to the doctor and arrived 5 minutes late. Got home from the doctor with just enough time to change and headed out to bigDDs lacrosse game. She got to play wing instead of defense and she was pretty good. They won this game by a lot. Came home, made dinner, cleaned the kitchen and read all my work email and now I am typing this - I am tired!

I have the wicked munchies but want the scale to stay down. I did indulge in some soy chips after dinner but am going to do some weights now to keep me out of the fridge!

Janina - I have not have a pinched nerve before but it sure sounds painful. I will look through our Mexico photos to see if there is anything I can post -

Brenda - I forgot to comment on the deer. They are a big problem here to and I don’t like driving a certain road at night because I came so close to hitting one once. He doubled back in front of my car - I just jammed on the brakes and closed my eyes and could not believe we didn’t collid!

Tomorrow will be another crazy day. There is a mtg at school in the morning that I would like to go to but DH and I are visiting the new high school in the afternoon so work may need to take priority in the am.

Brenda, sorry about your boss acting up. I am glad you didn't do any real damage from the impact with the deer.
Va, congrats on getting close to 130. You should be able to drop below that by the end of the week. Glad the presentation went well even though you had to improvise.
Janina, I have had two surgeries for disk problems - one in my lower back and one in my neck. If left untreated, the pain is unbearable. Drs are so reluctant to do surgery even when they know the disk is out.
I hope to be below 110 Wednesday. Yes, it is hard not having snacks--I have definitely been hungry the last couple of days. Today was my last day at work until at least next week. I agreed to come in as needed for the future. That works well for me. I will call the office next Tuesday morning to see if I need to come in. Wednesday I hope to get out and do some gardening and I really need to start spring cleaning.

Thanks brenda for the suggestion. i will definately do that. Sounds easy enough.

VA you pulled it together beautifully at the meeting. A sign of a terrific leader. Most people would have a meltdown but not you! You are doing so well on program
Vickie, I am sure my dh is in true pain. I hope he finds relief soon. The therapy went well for him today.

My menu for the day was
B two eggs
L small can tuna
d two sausages. I am stuffed. How crazy is that? Maybe I can do this to 105...I have been close so far but not there.

Tomorrow A is going to my moms. I am catching up on work. I have some things I need to get done. This weeekend we have photos at the park with A for her dance class and the next day is a princess party we are attending with A. It will be a fun but kid filled weekend. The next weeekend is her first performnace at our local street fair. Should be cute.

well have a good night everyone.
Tomorrow I will be out the door early so I might not stop in till later

I had a cleaning binge this morning - really odd. I needed to wash DD lacrosse uniform because they have another game tomorrow. She nicely used her white shirt to clean off the head of her stick because she does not like to play with a dirty stick. Why do they have white cotton jerseys??? After scrubbing and bleaching it (do our children actually appreciate all that we do behind the scenes?) I decide to clean the dogs room (yes, my dogs have their own room). While doing that I decided to wash their beds (yes, all four of my dogs have their own beds). That made me mop the floor in their room and in the back hall and kitchen and start 2 other loads of laundry (can’t wash the white jersey with the black skirt so as long as you are washing one thing, why not do a full load). I am not sure what came over me but I did get a lot done in a very short amount of time. I am keeping the dogs outside for a few hours because I just couldn’t handle them messing up their clean rooms - Hmm - maybe I will clean DDs rooms this weekend and then make them live outside for a few days to relish in the cleanliness - nahh.

I am up just a tad this morning but just to 131. I did late weights so it could just be that - not getting to me - yeah!

I just realized this morning that lilDDs 11th bday is this coming Wednesday. She will be on an away field trip Thursday/Friday so we need to celebrate this weekend! I have bought her some random things and we are going to get her a new bike. We think we will surprise her this weekend and say that DH needs something for his bike and then at the store let her pick out her new bike. She has been eyeing cakes at a local bakery department so I think I will just get one of those instead of making one. They have nice, small ones so that I can have one little slice and have very few leftovers. I am not sure my willpower would last with a big homemade cake sitting around.

OK - Back to work for me. I want to do cardio during lunch and then shower because DH and I are going to tour our new local HS this afternoon - we are thinking of switching bigDD for 9th grade and want to check it out and make sure they have the advanced programs that we are looking for.

Wow Vamom, you sure have been busy this morning. I too seem to have lots of energy to get things done today. I ran 6 miles, than changed all the sheets on beds and washed them,, cleaned up my sons room some, cleaned up the kitchen,, made some coconut candy, etc. Sounds like you have a nice bday planned for your daughter. I hope your cardio workout goes well for you,, do you feel like you gain weight after you do a weight lifting workout?? I do, some one told me your body will hold extra water so you muscles can repair them selves, not sure if that is true or not but sounds good. Oh, and way to go on your presentation, as my DH would say,, as a former Marine, adapt , overcome, conquer, (something like that) and you did it well.

My DH is coming home alittle early so we can go out on the Harley as today is the last nice day for a while , the weekend looks horrible. So we are going to go out for a late lunch somewhere with a deck and relax. He has praise and worship practise at 6:30 so we will be home early and I can finish up the laundry. I am back to work tomorrow,, hopefully my boss will have had an attitude adjustment in the meantime. haha
Well I better get back to cleaning before I lose my energy, Hope everyone is having a good day..Brenda

Brenda - You had a busy morning too. That is so cool that you and DH will spend some time together today. DH and I both work from home but rarely see each other. We often talk about going to see an afternoon movie or going out to lunch together but have yet to actually do it. I do tend to be up a bit in weight after I weight train and down after a good cardio session so I believe that my muscles do hold a bit of water. That is one reason why the .2 lb gain this morning did not phase me in the least.

The teacher that was to give us the school tour did not show up. We waited and even checked out the soccer field where they thought he might be. DH said that they discussed meeting on Wed or Thurs but DH picked Wed - I guess he either forgot or got the wrong day. DH is going to call him tonight. I was bummed because I was really looking forward to it but also because I cut my cardio short, showered, got nicely dressed, did my hair and put on makeup! Doesn’t that man understand that I don’t usually do all that?

I made such a yummy dinner (even though it is DH night to do dinner). I made lc pizza (the kind with the cc/egg/chs crust) and topped it with broccoli, moz cheese and sausage. DH had sausage pizza when we did Italian last weekend and I had a bite and so craved it. DH ate ½ the 9x13 pizza but did leave 2 small pieces for me for lunch tomorrow. I think I will stretch it with a salad so that I can have it both tomorrow and Friday.

Off to read with lilDD -

Good morning...

Thanks for the welcome..

I am at 124 and holding...

really want to get to 115..

B 2 hard boiled eggs au natural (if I eat B) and always coffee black and strong
L 1 roasted chicken leg no skin
D 7 oz sirloin no fat, okra, 1 cup yogurt.(which I may drop)
and 1 or 2 glasses of wine... which I have no plans of dropping...

I love your ambition...

idioglossic - You seem to eat so little! Do you exercise?

Janina - You never checked in yesterday - everything OK?

Brenda - How did the afternoon with DH go?

I am down to 130 this morning - yeah! I thought I would be because I jumped on the scale last night at was at 132.6 and usually go down around 3 lbs overnight. I had another icecream bar last night - yumm! They are only 100 calories so not that bad. They are better than regular icecream because of the portion control - I don’t think 100 calories of icecream would satisfy me.

Yesterday I had:
B - coffee, ½ lime tart, kracker w/ herb cc
12:00 - ¾ cup yogurt, zone bar
E - 45 min elliptical
3:30 - ½ lc bread w/lgt butter, minestrone soup (no pasta), sunflower seeds
4:00 - 2 celery sticks
6:00 - salad, lc pizza w/broccoli & sausage
W - 132 oz

My days have been so busy that I have not been checking cals or carbs but am still being careful with my choices. Today, I want to get more protein in because I want to do weights later.

It is looking dark outside but if the rain holds off, bigDD has another lacrosse game. I will go to it for 10 minutes, then pickup lilDD, and then head back to the game. Now that bigDD plays more and plays a better position, I don’t want to miss any game time because I love watching her in action. She has never been very athletic and it makes my misty eyed to see her running and cradling the ball (I know, I am weird).

Off to fill my water bottle and work -

Goodmorning.
Yesterday was busy. Met Caren and Ethen(she apologized,we talked kids played) then dropped off A at my moms. Came home and B and I went out for dinner. I broke the protein fast as B and I rarely get a night off. We ordered two desserts and finished half of each. I stopped when I felt full. Haven't weighed myself yet today..have no idea if i am up rom it but probably as i ate carbs. We came home and watched Meet The Fockers. Some funny parts.

BRB housekeeper just got here....

Hi everyone! I am really enjoying having my days free again. I have been working out in my flower beds and veggie garden. I am still on plan with just the 3 meals per day. I was at 109.5 Wed and was 109 Thurs morning. I missed my 3 mi jog/fast walk Thurs because I had to do errands after working outside most of the day but I got a lot of walking in with the errands. I'll check back Fri morning.

Good Morning! Scale back up a tad but I am seeing a pattern of being up around a pound the day after I do weights.

Vickie - I can't wait to get out in my garden. The weather may not cooperate this weekend. We will be celebrating lilDDs birthday so that will also cut into my planting time. My annuals are starting to come up and my shrubs are beginning to grow - everything is so green right now.

Janina - Any fun weekend plans?

Brenda - How are you doing? Working lots?

Busy day today. I have an assignment that needs to be completed by tonight, I want to do cardio, I want to hit the market and pick up a movie for tonight and I need to get DDs at 3:30 - not sure I will get all that done.

I am so sorry to be missing. usually I have a moment to pop by but things have been really busy. A was at my mom and I picked her up today. B and I hung out, went out for dinner these last two night and saw Sahara. I was nice to hang out with him. This weekend is full of activities for A. It will be a busy one. Haven't had a chance to take hair photos but I will this weekend. I worked both days at my store for a bit. I am also selling some items on ebay. Rhinestone belts and the silk beaded skirts that are so hot now. I have been busy and doing well with that. I just order extra and have been putting hot selling items up. It is fun.

Scale is up I am sure. I am just not in diet or plan mode. Seems with me i am on or off plan and I just need a break from protein but am trying not to overeat.

VA, happy Bday to ldd! are you doing the bike? What cake did you deside?

Vickie, I knew once work let up for you, your weight would go down. Yay!

Idio, you don't eat much. I have an idea. Why don't you mix it up alittle bit? I know you like your wine but I bet if you started skipping every other night you might see a change. On the days you skip wine I would add protein. You could actually just try upping protein with what you are doing now.

Hi everyone else. Where are you..we need to keep our little thread going along!

Sorry i will check in all weekend to make up for being away..lol!

Va, we are in the colder area of zone 6 and I wouldn't plant annuals here until mid-May. We are supposed to get snow flurries or snow showers Saturday night and the temps on Sunday will just be in the 40s.
Janina, you are really busy! Glad you are doing well with eBay.
Hope everyone is doing well. For some reason the scale was up to 109.75 Friday morning. I was on the go all day on Thursday and really thought I would drop below 109. It just seems like my body is determined to stay above 109. I am finally at the point of not being hungry with just the 3 low carb meals per day so I will continue that through the weekend and hope I can break through. Monday I will be at an all-day conference where there will be lots of food and I won't have much choice in what to eat. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
