Monday, the 18th, for the MVM

God morning gang,
Two wines WORKED yesterday. Pray for today.
Last week I had a bout with angina sprinting for the bus, and then I got home and Bob brought my BP results from my doctor and I saw that Lp(a) and I went WHITE. It's hereditary and almost immutable and THE most dangerous blood lipid. The ONLY thing that seems to work to lower it is alcohol consumption. So I have no options like quitting, or even grape juice. Unfortunately the level SEEMS to be inverse to the AMOUNT of booze. I started the teetoalling periods back in 1987...and within 3 years, the chest discomfort started. I guess the stopping for long periods was NOT a good idea...but it SEEMED like a good idea at the time.
My plan is 2 wines a day (I can't THINK of martinis...I like them too much) til mid May when I will get my blood tested again.

Anyhoo,
We had a great day and Mercedes Ruhl is a Dy-No-Mite actress. The Peggy Guggenheim story (LADY IN A MIRROR) was fascinating. She was a "poor" Guggenheim (multi millionaire, but not a BILLIONAIRE) was THE collector of modern art of the 20th century. She bought up and exported ALL the major works from Europe when Hitler was Hell bent on destroyng the Communist, evil, Jewish art form. On the way, she slept with every major figure of 4 decades (and she "kissed" and told) and boght a palace on the Grand Canal in Venice where she held court for the last 20 years of her life....Fascinating afternoon. Chinese Food afterward <without Vick...they use OIL!, Oh horrors!>

We went to near 80 yesterday afternoon and they are expecting mid-70's AT LEAST today.

Nothing planned today EXCEPT 2 WINES and finish a book...wow, do I feel my mortality this last week...I finally think my money will last my lifetime. <I explained to Bob all about the bank accounts...he didn't want to hear!>

Be well kiddies, ENJOY the day...that's ALL we are given!

Morning gang!

Boy Zip, you are really in a "last days" mood! I do like your thought on today is the only one we are given. One of our administrators just resigned last Friday at 3 in the morning becasue of angina, stomach problems, etc. etc. He doesn't sleep very well and considered this to be the last straw. That's ONE of the things that put me in a foul mood.

Health and family come before anything else!!

Check in later........ have a great one!

Barb

Made it through the Nuclear stress test but won't know the results until tomorrow. Oh well, at least I survived and didn't drop dead on the treadmill. New CT scan is soooo much better than the last one I had about 9 years ago. Had to lie still in that one position for 66 minutes and now only 11 for the first scan and 14 for the second, as compared to 55 with the old one.

Geezz Roger, are you going to call that cardiologist and discuss your latest chest discomfort? Best do it ASAP.

Hell red wine is much better than a martini for you. Have your sister get a good red from the winery outside of Lancaster. ( I'll get the name later for you) It's where they have the Renaissance Fair but they don't ship out side of PA. Wonderful stuff and not too pricey at all.

Barb, sorry your administrator is so stressed out but at least he knew enough to pack it in and leave. Life is too short to waste it on BS.

Hi ya Loretta.

Waving to the rest of our gang.
Later.

Hey y'all,

Good day today, but tomorrow holds the dreaded dentist. May be MIA for the day, depending on how much I hurt afterwards and how long they take.

Whine.

Almost time for bed,

Guess I forgot to post on here today.

Got Ginny's package today and am in 7th heaven. I love the glycerin hand lotions and the soap is heavenly. Thanks Ginny. Sorry you have to go to the dentist..we'll be thinking of you.

Linda, been waiting on your stress test but guess we'll have to wait till tomorrow for the results. Was there a reason to have it done?

Hi Loretta, hope everything is ok with you.

Hi to Sawnee too. Enjoy our litte respite.

Hi Barb, so sorry you have to go back to work but hope the mood will be better. You're sure right about the health and family being #1..

Hi Zip..
