Sat. the day after tax day for the MVM's
Honey I'm home.
![]() Nice get away for the two of us but too short. Got my stress test on Monday and a ton of work to do around here for my brother's visit next week and another get away to the Outer banks. Barb, KEE...RIST!! 80 degrees there? OY!! Hope you are enjoying every minute of it. It seems rather harsh to suspend those kids for turkey hunting. Mother of pearl!! This country is really getting out of hand with all the stupid "*****ing" rules. Roger, hi ya hun. So glad to see you hunting for bargains again. God I missed your humor and practicality. You should give lessons. ![]() HOLY CHIT I sincerely hope you didn't get "hooked" on that weed. OY!!! I'm still suffering withdrawal. Loretta, NEVER feel guilty about not filing taxes. Count your blessings. Bet you will be so happy to have that house siding finished. Remember, we want pictures. Ginny, LOVED the soap while on our trip. We found some really pricey soaps at an out door market. Didn't buy any though cause we liked yours. Did you ever think "almond" scent? Got some oil I can send to you. Waving to Shawnee, Susan , Julie , Jackie and lurkers. I'm off to bed and hope to get back some time. |

LOOOOCY, You're HOME! <with a Cuban "brogue">
Welcome back, too bad as that you got as far as Lancaster but didn;t have enough time to go to Washington for the Cherry Blossoms (still in full bloom) and all the wonderful museums. Gee, Lancaster got even warmer weather than we...we haven't gone over 75 yet. Did you buy any distelfinks? Hear any good Penna. Dutchisms like "Throw Poppa down the stairs his hat " Barb, tell us about Penny, does she sniff out gunpowder, or turkey guts ?? So the kids had the guns in their truck in the parking lot or did they sneak them into school? In any case, I think the punishment is fair, the guns don't belong anywhere NEAR a school. I hated GYM and the crazed lunatics who taught it and if I'd had a GUN at hand...well, let me tell you, all that would have been left of him would have been a bloody whistle. OY and the bloody nuns all over the place <nice to muse though.> Make a nice cult film!Reminds me of the great OLD, OLD, OLD joke that Noah told his sons: What's black and white an red all over? A wounded NUN! ![]() ![]() (I've heard there's an old man in Papua New Guinea who is the only person left on Earth who hasn't heard that joke!) Bob is off in 10 minutes to get in line for standing room tickets at the Met which go on sale in 3.5 HOURS...yes, that's NUTS. He's going with his girlfriend because this guy isn't standing for ANYTHING and though I like to see the new MAGIC FLUTE I must SIT and sitting in the orchestra costs $150 ($300 for the two of us)...Yeah, RIGHT! (Bob gets to stand for $20 behind the orchestra seating.) Nothing much planned today...pray for divine intervention in my quest for drinking 2 wines a day I NEEED it. <whine> Today is day 3 and I already BADLY blew days one and two. I MUST make this work...alcohol is the ONLY thing that can touch the gluey Lp(a) cholesterol/protein/fat complex that is probably the most dangerous of the blood fats. TWO = LIFE; MORE = DEATH (my mantra.) So taoya I will stop at 2, I MUST! Gorgeous weather continues but mornings are chilly (in the 40's.) Hard to dress because a parka is comfortable at first but if you're out for several hours, you begin to SWELTER with the parka at 65°. More if it happens...I'll meet Bob for dinner After his operatic afternoon and we're eating out BOTH days this weekend...the chef has put down his hat! Tomorrow we're seeing Mercedes Ruhl portraying Peggy Guggenheim onstage...we both LOVE Merceded Ruhl and I'm happy to see her LIVE! Miss Vicki will be joining us and we haven't seen her in a couple months (she seel ad-space and has been working like a lunatic night and day to pay her rent...and her $250 "hair coloring" (but only $125 for the CUT.) Yes I do SOOO sympathize that she can't make ends meet. ![]()

Hi Linda, glad you are back.
Zip sounds like a busy social weekend for you and Bob. Enjoy eating out BOTH days. Going to help DS paint some more trim on the house for the next day or so. They should finish up the siding by Tuesday. Then when they get there equipment out of my yard and I get the grass mowed I'll get some pictures. Later folks. Loretta |

Mornin' y'all,
Welcome home Linda! Glad you had a great trip. Not much for you to catch up with around here, it's been kinda quiet this week. I don't have almond, but I do have hazelnut....is your almond oil the skin safe variety? Loretta, I know you'll be really glad to have that siding done and the stuff out of your yard. Projects here usually wind up with a few piles in the yard somewhere and I'm always happy once the remains have cleared out. Pretty day today, are you washing the new Honda? Zip, have you tried grape juice? It's supposed to have the same effect on cholesterol without the worries of alcohol. I wouldn't stand in line for 3 1/2 hours either. We slept in today, actually I think I just plain went comatose last night Still waking up with my buddy caffeine! 70's and sunny here, so the porch swing will most definitely see my butt in it.......L8r

back Linda!! Just wasn't the same without you!! Glad the trip was nice and relaxing. Hey, did the wonderful stuff of Ginny's work on G????Zip, this is my favorite one...what's red and green and goes a hundred miles an hour??? A frog in a blender!! Dumb, dumb, dumb....... Sounds like a fun filled weekend for you and Bob. No on me waiting in line that long either. But it does sound like your weather is much better than the Pacific Northwest. Has been only in the low 50's and rain. Can't really complain and won't. Loretta, will be nice when that siding is done. Yes, we want pics, ok? Ginny, still watching that mail box and watching, watching, watching....I'm going to smell so wonderful. Had a very late night at the community theater last night. Went to see "City of Angles" and was not impressed. The music was so loud you couldn't hear the singing. Didn't care of that era of music I guess. 3 hours of sitting about did me in with the RLS. Had to keep getting up and walking in the back! Not much planned today but a baseball game is on in a few hours and I'll enjoy that. Rain is finally hit with a vengence and it's really gloomy outside. Church at five and back to the couch. Anyhow, had to wish Linda a nice home. We DID miss you sweetie!

Whew!!! back again for more. What a gorgeous day around here today. It was almost warm for a change.
Roger, I wouldn't stand for three hrs either. Bob must be a glutton for punishment, eh? Oh well if he enjoys it , good for him. Heck ya can't beat the price though. Make your own stuffed peppers at least you can control the quality of meat that goes into them.. That's what we had tonight. I don't add rice but did add some flax meal and crushed pork rinds for moisture. Nah I didn't buy a darn thing there other than meals. But we enjoyed just watching the Amish farmers do their thing right next door to our motel. Boy those people work hard. OH hell, I missed the opera on WSKG. Loretta, at least there is light at the end of the tunnel, eh? Can't wait to see your finished siding and paint job. Yikes looks like our grass is starting to grow and will need mowing very soon. Ginny, glad you got to sleep in today. Try again tomorrow. You work too hard and need the rest. LOL just noticed my "dead fish" legs too. Guess I best get out the "tan in a bottle" for next weeks trip to the beach. The Amish girl selling the soaps and oil said the almond oil was the same she used in her soaps. Smelled absolutely WONDERFUL!! Julie, missed you too. Bummer on the long and loud community theater. If it were me, I would have gotten up and walked out. These old ears can't take loud anymore. So you are getting some of Ginny's wonderful stuff too. You are going to LOVE it. G likes her soap too. It makes your skin feel so smooth. Hi Shawnee, Are you out in that beautiful yard enjoying the clean smell of dirt and planting those lovely flowers? Glad to see you North Westerners are getting some much needed rain. It's about time. Waving to Barb, Jackie, lurkers. |

OK here we go, yet again. Can they EVER make up their minds?
I refuse to believe one f#$king thing the medical profession says anymore. Ya can't trust those bastards since they don't have a GD clue either. It's just a guessing game. Eggs-aggregated Health Myth Debunked Among numerous health myths, one particularly skewed belief is that eggs are bad for your heart; however, eating eggs on a daily basis may prove to hold numerous health benefits, especially a decreased risk of heart disease. Research showed that, in healthy adults, eating eggs every day did not produce: A negative effect on endothelial function, an aggregate measure of cardiac risk. An increase in cholesterol levels. Additionally, in their effort to blow the "egg myth" out of the water, researchers assessed the effect both egg and oat ingestion had on endothelial function in 49 adults. Participants were assigned to eat two eggs or oats every day for six weeks. Throughout the study period, researchers noted that flow-mediated dilation (FMD), which measures how well the endothelium acts to keep blood moving by widening the blood vessel, was stable in both groups and did not significantly differ between them. Effects of Eggs/Oats on Cholesterol Not only did the results prove that dietary cholesterol from eggs had a much smaller effect on cardiac risk than saturated fat, it also showed that six weeks of: Egg consumption had no effect on total cholesterol or LDL. Oat consumption significantly lowered levels of both total cholesterol and LDL (a finding that may perpetuate a flawed belief that oats may be better for you).
