Good morning Barbara...and all the maintainers (I have a hunch we'll be MORE today)

Oh, it's SO nice to have done my taxes REALLY early (2 days ago)...we always owe, so let them wait!

We are looking for mid 60's today (sunny, VERY windy and 48 right now.) My air conditioner is whistling and I tried to find the air leak by "bumming a weed" from a neighbor: it seemed strange after 2 decades. I puffed it to light it and use the smoke to show me the air infiltration...and now I can't get the foul taste out of my mouth. I can't believe I used to smoke 2 packs a day at times. I will try brushing my tongue and using strong mouthwash.

Nothing happening today. I have the gym on hold so I'll do the North wing...Staples, Modells, Target, A&P, Linens and Things, and Pier ONE. Staples should soon have the good FREE Norton Internet Security deal WITHOUT buying the tax-preparer programs which have suddenly become as "usseless as teats on a bull"...the biggest crock-saying ever made up. We bulls find them VERY useful!
Damn they scheduled Bob for 4 days next week...so much for PLANNING!

Stouffer's doing the 3 for $5 again on ANYTHING and that means the 21 ounce Lasagna and the Double Stuffed Peppers...both mainstays of this lazy "household god."
I even think I have a "Buy 6 Get ONE FREE" coupon in my bag of tricks.
Oh well, when one of my 10 MEGA tickets comes though tonight ($140 Million) I won't have to clip coupns any more (but knowing me, I probably STILL will). I hope you are all packed for your Summer vacation at my house in MUSTIQUE.

I still have guilt feelings about not filing taxes. Since I have retired and DH is retired and over 65 we just have ss and his federal pension as income. Sooooo, that does not add up to enough, since ss is not counted as income. It leaves me with a guilt feeling though. Next year we will both be over 65. We seem to manage nicely though.

Zip I think I must try the stuffed peppers from Stouffers. What is the carb damage in one of them? We will be up in the 70s today. The sun is shining nicely and spring has arrived.

Barb hope the inservice is a good one. Some of them can be enlightening and some can be just plain boring. You sure are having nice weather there.

Going to travel to Evansville today to pick up oldest DS who is returning his brothers car and coming here to finish the painting and pick up his truck. The truck repairs are complete and I have it here in my driveway. He will be glad to get it back.
We will all be glad to reach the end of the accident saga too.

Shawnee I am going to try to plant seeds this year in my flower pots and not buy any annuals except for some already put together hanging baskets. Not sure if I will be able to survive without buying a growing plants though. My tomatoe seeds are coming up in there little peat pots that I have placed outside.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Social Security benefits ARE taxable...for the RICH, defined (during the Reagan Administration who gave us this lovely tax) as making, for a couple, a total of $32,000. THis total is gotten by adding HALF your social security benefits (from line 6 I believe of the annual Pink form) to ALL other income. If it's over, YOU PAY.
For us singles, that limit is 25 grand and Bob has paid income tax on his SS almost every year that he's collected it.

Funny, for Social Security purposes people are deemed RICH at 25 grand; but for Bush's tax cuts, billionaires can be counted as overtaxed and thus deserving of relief (poor?) and got a BIG break (a TAX BREAK.) Bush never worried about those living on Social Security and a meager pension.
Better look over the numbers Loretta...I HOPE you owe nothing.

Good evening folks!!

While I was out having fun yesterday at the workshop, Penny the drug dog visited our campus. Now we have three students going to the school board for a full year expulsion for having violating the weapon rule. Two of them had a gun and ammo in vehicle and the third knives. I know the kids so well and realize that they were out turkey hunting the night before and forgot, but rules are rules. You never know what might happen!!

One needs a passport to go into Canada these days? DD called and needs her birth certificate to get a passport. She'll be going north this summer from MN into Canada.
