MVM's Sat. April 9
Hi ya everyone,
Babysat Nick for a couple of hours while the rest of the gang went to a hockey game. What a good little guy he is. Hard to believe he will be a year old next month. I did take some pictures but left the camera in the car. Darn it all. Had a glass of home made Merlot that my sons made.Wow is that good and the SUGAR CONTENT is almost nil. Great for us low carbers. Was about two miles from home when I had a spontaneous nose bleed. I did sneeze which may have caused it. Had to run into the house and grab some towels and wash cloths. What a mess!! I was about ready to have G drive me to the ER to have the darn thing cauterized but it finally stopped. Barb, Sorry about your co worker losing the job. That's not a fun situation to be in for anyone. My heart goes out to him. Your anniversary trip sounds wonderful!! Some Mexican food is delicious but others UGH! Guess us northerners aren't into it much. Poor Kitty, Hope she feels better soon. Been there, done that myself. OUCH!Rivers are back in their banks and all is well except for the poor folks whose homes got flooded. FEMA is going to help as far as I know. Loretta, glad to hear your new med is working. I'm still on Doivan 80mg and 12.5 mg of HCT which seem to be working very well. Some days I'm far too low though. 96/58 is not fun Way to go on the insurance. My gosh you are lucky. Yeah, what's with all the pups? Sigh, wish we had one but it's not feasible at this stage of our lives. Red bud Trees??? I thought your avatar might be cherry blossoms. Roger, WOW you got the works at the docs . Glad it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. Nice not to have to fight with them for a change. LOL maybe you "trained" him finally. Keep up with that PSA and finger thingy. It's really, really important.Ginny, Your soaps and lotions are absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I would recommend them to everyone. Hi ya Shawnee. What's keeping you so busy? Out door work? Waving to Julie, Susan and the rest of the gang. |

Hi Linda,
Sorry about that nosebleed...they are annoying and THEN some. I went for two months on Plavix after my angioplasty and my nose bled all day long, week after week...HATED IT. I'm glad it stopped for you. I like Mexican food a lot, but Bob doesn't so I have less of it than I want (and NEVER cook it.) Come to think of it, I like almost every cuisine that isn't just "meat and potatoes!" Reminds me of my mother's cooking who thought that an overspiced food was anything that had anything other than a sprinkle of salt on it. I think she thought that garlic was the spawn of an immigrant plot! ![]() We did a nice choo-choo ride...anywhere you want to go in Hudson County on the Light Rail for 90 minutes, on and off as often as you want: $.75 (as of last week ![]() ![]() )...not bad these days! Got some cheap produce, POUNDS of tofu and some junky cheap sleepware. Weather is a sunny 56°.Whoopi Goldberg's Broadway Show on HBO tonight if anyone gets it. Should be fun. A nice weekend to everyone.

Hi y'all
Geez, Montana...sure glad that nosebleed finally got controlled. Scarey, isn't it? I was thinking that BP meds can be a culprit,,,and then Zip stated his reactions. Would love to see new piccies of that dahlin' Nick. You sure know how to have gorgeous grandbrats! Huge dark eyes, black hair...charming. Zip, LOL, you certainly got more than your money's worth re the Train ride. Hope ya get that Trigger finger fixed...does it screw up your typing ability? Loretta, that RedBud is lovely! For me, they don't do well here. Great to hear that all the mess and frustration of the siding is finally paying off, and you're loving the results. Hehee, tell that frisky DH of yours that I'd be happy to supply the wheelbarrow...and the camera for that "over the threshhold" event. I had bought the Chuckster two additional Catnip plants, since he was mauling the origional so badly. All 3 sat on the back porch for a week, along with other plants...he liked them there, handy as he exited the back door. Yesterday, I had the audacity to plant his stuff under a rosebush. He wants them BACK where he thinks they belong...He keeps looking thru the other plants, can't find his "pot"... I showed him where they are planted; he goes back to the porch and Yowls at me. Has it come to this, I will have to get him yet another one for the porch?? To ALL, have a content day. Shawnee

Hi Shawnee,
No, my typing is fine. It's the closed hand that locks the finger and the worst thing is holding pills. After the first morning lockup it hurts liek Hell to snap it free. Chuck knows damn well where his catnip is; this is just a POWER play. Are you up to the battle of wills? ![]() Place your bets ladies and germs! |

Evening Linda, Shawnee and Roger!
I'll vote for another plant for the porch, after all, one can't have too many and YOU WENT and CHANGED the PLACEMENT! What's causing the nose bleed Linda? I always think of BP also. What a bother to have to run back home!! That's a cheap train ride!! You could have stayed out all day! you are always finding bargains. I'm terrible - don't even look at prices most of the time (food) just buy what I want. If I was on a FIXED income I suppose I would be more careful. But, I don't plan on living toooooo much longer. A friend of mine is retiring this year because her husband died at work (works with my DH) and she wants to enjoy some things before her health goes SOUTH. Her DH worked all the time, smoked, over weight, etc. and died of a heart attack on the job. Loretta, I'm sure you are soooooo small and thin that DH could carry you with one hand! The employee that was fired was a "nerd" and "bozo" is what I called him. But his perceptions of how he was doing and reality were two different things. Last Thursday, one bumped into the other and now he's devastated. He didn't do much of anything and he can't imagine how they will replace him! Oh well, no one has been killed yet and my car is in good shape. I'd be more concerned with his wife who is a mean spirited little thing. We'll see what Monday brings. Have a good one!! Waving "hi" to all of the "busy" ones who have more of life than me? Barb

Must be everyone is either busy, away or just not interested Oh well, I hope all is well with them.Roger, I love most ethnic food but for some reason the spices in Mexican foods never tasted quite as good as most. I guess I just don't like the chili powder/pepper taste. Love almost any Asian, Middle Eastern or European food. Even some African stuff. We had quite an Ethnic mix at work so lot's of good stuff available at various times. Darn that trigger finger. Hope you get that taken care of soon. Shawnee, LMAO yeah, I agree with Roger. Chuck knows exactly where his catnip is. He is just playing games. Are ya enjoying some nice weather and playing in the dirt this weekend? Loretta, are you getting any peace and quiet this weekend? We are all looking forward to some pictures of that new siding. Julie, congratulations to Nick on his one year anniversary. Way to go NICK and you too Julie and Chuck for doing such a great job with that boy.Ginny, what's up with you this weekend? Barb, I'm going to look for some info on your area. G and I are talking of taking another trip West next year and perhaps stop in Colorado and Utah on the way to the Grand Canyon. Any pointers? Hope you have a quiet, stress free weekend. Hi ya Susan. OK here are a few pictures. Nick has 6 teeth now. 4 on top and two on the bottom. Not quite ready for a good steak yet though. ![]() ![]() AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, NIKO THE PUP. ![]() |

Hi Barb, we were posting at the same time.
Oh NOW I understand about the bozo/nerd/useless employee. Many of them around unfortunately. Glad you were able to get rid of him, but be very careful. Some of these disgruntled people can be dangerous. Nosebleed Could be the occasional use of nasal steroid spray or the aspirin therapy. Who knows. As long as it doesn't happen too often, it's OK. |

Back again
WOWIE, Montana...that Nick is one adorable Cutie GrandPup Nico looks like a lil cuddlebug. Our weather was threatening rain, changed its mind. I've been a bum most of the day. Barb, how's your Momma Kitty doing? LOL, I hope that ALL of us get to live as long as we want to, and die when its no fun anymore. I am definitely a bargain hog....just plain feels good to get more than my money's worth....even if I have to give away my bargains to someone who really needs them Probably comes from my childhood; hard work and learning early on the value of a buck. Also I've found that, at times, just knowing I can afford to buy pretty much whatever I want is enough satisfaction...BTW, Y'all got your Wills, Living Wills, POAs in order? Beneficiaries updated on Ins. policies, Savings accts, CDs, IRAs, Stocks & Bonds, Annuities, etc? LOL, some years back I was doing some of Bob's updating...I called his job to check on some "wording" in a policy. Wound up causing quite a stir: several of his (multi-times-married) co-workers still had their EXs as beneficiaries. Zip...YES, it is a Power struggle ![]() Good thing I read your Reply before trollying off to Wally's for filler plants. OK, I admit looking at the Catnips...but I was practicing tough love mentally ...just bought the plants I needed. Put them on the back porch...here comes Chuckie...Oh, Boy...where's mine? *sniff* *pout* YOWWWWL *.....I felt wretched, but righteous! :Hyst: Julie, MISSING ya! gotta run, Bob needs attention |

Hey gang,
Had a busy but fun day today. Gorgeous weather, upper 70's and sunny. I could have days like this for a long time and not get tired of them! (well, the occasional rain IS needed). Started off with a trip to a gh for DSisIL's dipladenias and a few things for us, then back home and unload the van. Next, I went to Sam's Club for large quantities of cheese etc and came back with a ham too. One of those super salty country hams that make you drink a gallon of water per serving Then back home for the necessary dinner routine followed by sitting on the porch in the swing Tomorrow is scheduled to be just as purty out, so DH will mow while I finish lotions etc. Will be hard to be inside! I think I'll be taking my breaks on the porch. We now have our hanging baskets on the porch, all pruned back and ready for another growth season. Time to get out the watering cans once again. The greenhouse is very happy now with the sun and warmth. Lots spiking and blooming, and with the nicer weather, you can about watch things grow. Loretta, if Shawnee brings that wheelbarrow for your DH, I want to be the one taking pics.... Looks like Loretta's place will be our next virtual gathering! Any seconds on this nomination? Glad your company has gone and things are getting back to normal. Are you feeling better now too? Linda, I've never had a full blown nosebleed (that I remember), but it would probably irritate that chit out of me, or at least happen when I have good clothes on. Really glad you're enjoying the soaps, I just love the stuff and won't use anything else anymore. DH doesn't have a choice either ![]() Shawnee, good for you being a bum today. Tell the Chuckster that YOU are in charge, not him. Watch him , then tell him again. These critters have to learn that the human has final say. (my dogs are still learning this)Zip, sounds like a successful outing! I think your mother and mine went to the same cooking school. I have to tone things down a bit when she visits, but now she's forgotten she doesn't like spices, so it's a little easier to cook. Barb, hope the ex-employee's wife doesn't cause any trouble. I wish I had the authority to fire idiots, but then we'd be sorely understaffed at work..... Julie, hope you're having a good weekend......check in when you have a chance! Well, all, just about time for bed.
