April fools day for the MVM's

It's April fools day gang. Don't let anyone get ya.

Glad you enjoyed the site. It's so neat!! That guy led an interesting life, eh?

Going to sleep in and enjoy my new pillows. Oh they are soft and comfy. It's so darn difficult to find some that are comfortable and hold up. These are comfortable but I sure hope they hold up. Darn things are so expensive.

Susan, glad your dh's MRI went well. It's the pits waiting for those reports to be typed and sent, eh? Wishing him the very best.
Stomach is fine now. LOL I think I need to lay off the sugar alcohol hard candy I was sucking on when I wanted a cig. That might have exacerbated it.

Loretta, MY GOD you are one busy person this next few days. Wishing your
DH well at the eye docs. It must be so frustrating for both of you.

Take your time with the pictures but don't forget us nosy people. We really want to see them.

Julie, don't you have laws in Washington State about medical information being released? NYS is a total PITA, so we have to sign for EVERYTHING

Roger, I sincerely hope you had a truly wonderful birthday. So how is the car shopping going? When you get that vehicle, come on up for a visit. We want to see you again.

Hell, I don't even open any e mail from Microsoft. It's all a sham. Just do your updates from the regular task bar icon notification.

Shawnee, Glad you enjoyed the site. I just love it.

Guess we need to really get aggressive and tell those medical people what we want and are allowed by law. What a PITA.

Hope you get more of that needed rain. My God, I can't imagine what the summer will be like in the NW.<shudder> I can remember very well, the smoke and flames in Columbia Falls, MT a couple of years ago when they had the huge fire.

Ginny, How's the job going. You haven't said much about it lately. Hope things have settled down for you.

Jackie, update please??? and pictures if you have some.

Waving to everyone else.

Oh, I almost forgot a funny.

A doctor was addressing a large audience in Tampa. "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is awful. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have, or will, eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?"

After several seconds of quiet, a 75-year-old man in the front row raised his hand, and softly said "Wedding Cake."

Good morning Linda and everyone,

Linda, congrats at the doctor yesterday, I guess no blockage or he'd have said something. I LOVE your breaking into an old Leslie Gore song when your vascular man wanted to know why you wanted to pry into your OWN records:
Quote:
It's my body, and I'll pry if I want to
Pry if I want to, pry if I want to
You would pry too if it happened to you!

(My apologies to Miss Gore.)
Thanks everybody for the warm birthday wishes yesterday...we had a quiet nothing day with some Pizza and Chianti! Perfect (I'll get a snazzy dinner out next week since the weekend will be rain, rain and more rain!)
HArd aerobics were REALLY hard to do...I think I was a tad dehydrated.

I made a routine GP appointment for next Thursday. It was the only day I could be FIRST and it's important because I don't like dragging out the night's FAST too long to get blood lipids. I'll get a referral to my cardiologist and to a sports doctor for a cortisone shot for this trigger finger. It's a pain to live with...my vitamins and daily meds shot all over the bathroom again yesterday with a couple into the toilet (always the EXPENSIVE Lipitor) when it snapped open yesterday.

Julie, Shawnee,
I, too, have gotten sick of opening a can of Star-Kist or Bumble Bee CHUNK LIGHT TUNA, or even an expensive ALBACORE White and finding a canful of teeny brown shreds floating in salt water and tasting like salty sawdust.
I found the cheap ANSWER. IF you have an A&P nearby, pick up a couple cans of AMERICA'S CHOICE Chunk Light Tuna. I was SOOO happy to buy one on a lark because it was on sale and I've been buying nothing else for months. It is nice tasty chunks that are actually LIGHT! I have yet to get a single can that was a bummer.

Have a nice April Day everyone, and that's no joke!

Running the NY Marathon in April!

April Fools!!

But, a gal at work who is in her late 20's is running the NYM with her mom, who is in her early 60's. They have their plane tickets and reservations ready to go. I want to cheer them on as I SIT on the couch and watch it on TV.

Glad the test went ok Linda. Now you can rest peacefully on those new pillows. How are you doing with the cig. ??????

I haven't eaten tuna for a long time. I ate so much in the past 50 years that it just about turns my stomach. I go for salmon lately.

Zip, make any plans for your "birthday year" ? My favorite also: pizza and wind!

Waving to all as I pass on to water and exercise........ Barb

Morning gang, It's looking like a pretty day so far with such bright sunshine. Unfortunately it's not going to last. I think I'll meander all over the county and see what I can find.

Roger, no the Vascular surgeon in Syracuse didn't do my scan. I had it done at one of our local hospital radiology dept. Results will be sent to my cardo, me and the vascular guy.

Why don't you have an endoscopic or open release of that trigger finger?... Board Certified Plastic/Reconstructive/Hand Surgeon ONLY.... It's a quick and easy procedure done under a local anesthetic. The Plastic Surgeons I worked with did them frequently with excellent results but I'm sure the procedure has improved greatly since then.

Barb, I'm with you on the tuna. I just can't manage to gag it down. My mom told me to try red salmon but you still must pick through and get out those darn round bones but leave the little soft ones. She mixes it with mayo and celery and loves it. Says it doesn't taste fishy but I don't know if I believe that.

Julie, eat chicken salad instead of tuna.

More later

Hi Ya Gang!

We have a breezy, cloudy day up here today! Sassy is not too keen to go out....we have had the in and out rountine all morning!
She is going home tomorrow,whew!

DD bought lots of stuff, she bought a kilt for Ella, a white silk dress trimmed in tartan, a tartan hat, an arran sweater.....the list goes on!

Forgot to tell you guys that we have a CD of DH's MRI. I have not played it yet cuz scared to mess up the computer while DsonIL is not available.

Roger,
Do you think it will mess things up? DsonIL said not to download anything till he can give it a good check over.
Did you have a wonderful day yesterday? Sounds like you had a relaxing one at least, my favorite type of day!
Good tip on the Tuna...alas can't buy that up here!

Barb,
Glad to hear that you are "in training" for that Marathon!
I'll be cheering on the couch too!

LInda,
Great going on the Tobacco road.
I'll bet you are just like DH today feeling lbs lighter that that scan is out of the way!
Sounds like the hard candy could have been the culprit. In my groups we suggest the sugarless candies, especially in my groups. They are more expensive the diabetic candies. Licorice root is good too, cinnamon sticks, intensive flavored sugarless gums, all help over the transition time. Well done, I hope you are over the worst now.
Good chuckle on the "Wedding Cake." Never did like the mazipan...yuk!

Loretta,
DH went to his Chiropractors appointment this morning, if nothing else it picks up his spirits, that he is at least doing something proactive to help himself.
Not sure if we should get the results before we go to FLA? or wait till we return!

Phone DS...Later!

Barb,

You sound just like Mrs. Slocum, (a funny British brit-com lady):
Quote:
My favorite also: pizza and wind!

Anyhoo, I understand you meant wine.

Susun,
Here's what I'd do and I'm SURE it's safe. Pop in the CD and if it doesn't self load double click MY COMPUTER and double click your CD drive. If you get the OPEN WITH dialogue box, choose WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. If that doesn't work we'll try something else. It's perfectly safe; the media player will either open it or it WON'T! (Some imaging programs are sold to doctors at A GREAT COST...let's hope this is a simple one!)
I am going to get my angiogram disc from last year so I will soon confront a similar problem.

YAAAAY: Bob found that S&B GOLDEN CURRY at a huge Korean market near Herald Square....$2.99 is a better price than any online and that will make 12 sevings...8 for us. And since it's big blocks of paste in foil you use only what you need. He got the MEDIUM HOT but that will do for now. I used to use the HOT!

Linad, I had a trigger on a different finger about 4 years ago and I got a cortisone shot and over several weeks it went back to normal. They say that 75% respond to the shot so that is ALWAYS the first attempt. Now you would THINK my GP could give me the shot, but, dollars to donuts, anything beyond a STETHESCOPE and SPHIG is beyond him...oh yah, and a prescription pad for BP meds! "You say you can't move your finger...try NORVASC!"

Ohhh,
And Target reduced the Easter candy 75%, shhh!
I only bought a few dozen Cadbury, Russell Stover, Hershey's, DOVE, and Whitman teeny tiny things...no more than a few pounds, a little TASTE!

Morning,

I thought I had already posted here but guess not, I can't find it, hmmm maybe I didn't.....

Linda, I didn't say anything about getting medical records, did I??? Brain dead here... We do have to put it in writing or to get test results, Dr. ok.
So what's the name of those wonderful pillows you bought?
Loved the joke about the wedding cake.
I was wanting to eat tuna during Lent so no chicken on those Fridays. I did buy the new pouches of Salmon the other day. Guess they have pink and smoked. I bought the pink as the smoked was out. Haven't tried it yet. It's made by chicken of the Sea. Had a coupon so thought I'd try it. When I do I'll let you know.

Roger, good idea getting that appt. at the doc's first thing in the morning.. I always do cause then they usually aren't' running late!!!!!!!!
Glad you had a nice Birthday and hope you have many more.
We don't have any A&P around here but I'll keep my eye out for that brand.
For pete's sake Roger, what possessed you to buy all that Easter candy???

SuSun, not sure I'd want to view that CD of the MRI but curious as I am, I'd end up watching it. Sure hope they find something out so they can fix him.

Hi Barb...day off today?? Get your butt out there and run, run, run!!!
Practice makes perfect!!

Well, off to pay bills, clean house and get ready for the Mariner's game tonight on TV. Yippee skippy!!!!!! Wish I could skip over the daytime...no fun doing bills and cleaning. Oh well, I usually have fun all week so I can make one day miserable.

Hi y'all

Just heard on the noon news:

Is the Atkins Diet craze finally over?

.....apparently, 14 truckloads of Atkins products (bars, shakes, etc) that didn't sell are being donated to needy families.

If I had to eat that crap, I'd starve to death first.

Gotta run to town...and trust me, its NOT for bars and shakes.

Barb, run that by me again?? Who is running in the NYM?
Brain Fog here. LOL

Susan, they are diabetic candy which contain sugar alcohols of some kind. If you really think those things will get people over the cravings, think again. That bit of info is total Bull Chit. Don't know who ever told you that but a non smoker will never really know.

Go ahead and play the CD. It should be interesting and will not be installed on your computer. Let us know.

Roger, Hope the shot works but if not, you know what to do. I know a couple of really good Plastic Surgeons. Come on up for a visit for a day or two and I'll fix you right up.

Oh Shawnee, What a darling picture of Leah. Is that the one Loretta tried to post yesterday?

Been surfing on line looking for a place to go for a few days before my brother gets here. Both of us are getting cabin fever and need to get away. Maybe some place in the Penna. Dutch country.

Later.

damn it. I keep forgetting to unclick "show signature"

That sugarless candy or sf candy will give me cramps after 2 of them I don't touch those suckers. Wow, only if you want to suffer......

Linda, any particular reason for not wanting your sig. there? I didn't know that. So why don't you just eminate it in you options?

Loretta, great pic of Leah!!
Thanks Shawnee for letting us see it.

Julie, no particular reason, except it's a PITA if it's posted in all of someone's posts. Once is enough in a thread.

Yeah, I hear ya on the cramps from that stuff. UGH!
