MVMs for March 30

Gosh, I almost thought it was Thursday. Being retired is sometimes not good for our ol brains.

Tomorrow it's not much of anything and I love it. But do have to LUG my huge Flokati to a laundry to wash. Can't fit that sucker into my washer. Hope the weather is good so I can dry it outside.

Took some Ground Round and some Sabrat dogs out of the freezer for dinner but don't quite know what to have with it. Maybe some Dreamfields macaroni salad??? Haven't had that in quite some time. teehee

Roger,
Unfortunately I didn't save the attachment Ginny sent after trying it many, many times. I'll try your suggestion if she sends it again. Can't imagine why it kept just going to my Word.

Humm, on the "whatchamacallits" . Hope you enjoyed

Off to read a bit and then off to bed. Oh and our local library finally came into the next century. We now have on line books to read.

Hey gang,

Been busy these last couple days, so thought I'd better get my tail in here before bed so I don't miss out! Love the list, Linda, and since so many of them are true I can't hardly pick a favorite. I do think I'll claim one of the nutso spots on 16.

Loretta, we DO want pics of the new ride.... glad you were able to talk them down a bit. The next time I go to a dealer and they try the 'let me check with my manager in the other room' thing, I'll tell them to bring in the mgr and have him sit with us if he needs to be so involved. I know from working in a dealership, that's all BS anyways. They ALL KNOW what the bottom line is.

Shawnee, good for you braving the weather to get the 'pick of the litter'! Let the wimps wait and pick through the leftovers LOL! You have mail

Linda, you have more mail Tried it again, hope this one works!

Zip, I reckon I'm just used to Word for some things, but I really like Works for my spreadsheets I have on greenhouse inventory. Gotta update them now that The Season is upon us. Our first show will be this weekend (we will have plants in the society's display not one of our own) and it's always a fun and friendly show.

Barb, hope your weather picks one or the other, those rain/sneaux mixes get awful sloppy! Of course my vote would be rain. Awake at 4:30.... WILLINGLY??? Silly girl!

Julie, how are you doing with the bowling this year? Haven't done that in ages and don't know if my rt. wrist would hold up (tendonitis). Are you getting Shawnee's rain?

Susan, glad Sassy is doing well for you. Do you have to take them on separate walks with Oliver wanting to be done sooner? I bet you were thrilled to be out of the jacket for a little while..... what's your average temp up there this time of year? We had sunny 70's today and it was HEAVEN!

Well, all, better get my butt in the bed.

Good morning Ginny, Shawnee, Linda,

Nothing much happened since last night...I slept.
Tonight we have a nice evening planned. Dinner for Six at a nice restaurant called Dorrian's and then nice close fourth row seats for the JULLIARD ANNUAL DANCE GALA. It's always an evening full of good dance from the graduating class who will be tomorrow's Barishnikovs and Nuryevs. And seeing those 20 year old hard bodies always gives me inspiration to work triple hard at the gym for a couple weeks.
Weather is going to be a delightful, sunny 60°.

Ginny,
My issues with WORD are the annoyance with all those mandatory CORRECTION schemes of there's. I go in a spin after the first 20 "did you mean THIS" and choose alternate spelling for THAT (especially when it's my last name.) Getting rid of all their squiggly editing lines is more work than the original composition. But worst of all, I own two diffferent WORD 2000 and a WORD '97...I find all three unstable and when I need a reformat, it's usually WORD that's the core of the eruption.
I also have an old LOTUS WORD PRO 97, that I like becaue it's less top heavy than WORD (But I haven't even reinstalled THAT since last July.) Word Pad seems to do what I need done...truth be told many of my files for my own use are even still in NOTEPAD but even I recognize that it's a pretty dimwitted editor.
I SHOULD stick one of the big ones in (Gee, how many times in life have I said THAT !!
Maybe MAŅANA .

Linda,
Why would you squeeze an Italian sports car into the washing machine?????

Short walk and light gym so I have pep enough for tonight.

Later kids!

Sunny and 47° here today. Yesterday saw a 5 minute storm come through here with wind, rain, snow, hail and lightening. It was unbelievable!!

So Roger, I have both Wordpad and Notepad and very seldom use either one. I have Works on this Dell but not Word. My DD boyfriend is bringing over Word to load so I'll have it. Not sure I really need it. Only a few times have people sent me attachments that I couldn't open because they were in Word. Whats the opinion here? Does everyone recomend Word or is Works ok? Hmmmm

Taking Bo to the Groomers today and then the grocery store. Not much else besides a walk and always a book to read. My puzzle is going slow but still don't have those darn edges done. DH gave up on it. I'm still going to plug away at it for awhile.

Oh I may watch the movie today that DD loaned me. "Message in a Bottle."

Some of these colors are just too light to use.

Bowling is going fine. Yesterday I bowling 131 (bad) 186 and 169. One more month and it'll be over for the summer. I could bowl during the summer but hate to be tied down those months.

HI to all........

Julie,

WORKS is good and the old ones had an elementary version of WORD. The newer WORKS versions (after 2000) all included WORD 2000...are you SURE you don't have that? It's a full version of WORD.
If not, WORDPAD isn't bad. But if you have WORKS, I'm CERTAIN you have a word processor that's better than WORDPAD.
Check you WORKS and see what's in it?

Off to dinner and dance.

No, I don't have Word. I know that for sure. I don't really care if I have Word or not, only to open a few attachments I get. My DD boyfriend is bringing Office Word CD and loading it on my computer for me. He works in computers so he said this would work. I can't decide if I really want to take up more space with something I hardly use. I hardly use Works either. Yes, I have a word processor already. Thanks for your input. I guess I really don't need it.

Hi to all

I have been on the road most of the day taking my oldest son to Indiana to borrow a car from his brother. Dang, he made the trip down here and his truck has another problem so he needs to go back and forth AGAIN. He did not want to use DH's or my new Honda. Next time we will be sure that the truck is up and running. He paints a little more every time he shows up. Ran out of paint again. Most is taking 2 coats.

Julie and Roger I have some thing called Microsoft works word processor. This could drive us crazy.

Julie glad to hear that the bowling is going fairly well for you. How is that knee holding up.

Linda thanks for posting for me. I tried a test over there onthe Golden and that took. SO I might be able to get the water thread up tonight. Thanks.

Ginny thanks for sending me your brochure. I will take a better look when I have more time. More company coming Sat. DstepD from Texas. Maybe her son will come up Not sure how long she will be staying. Then it will be time for my painter to come back. What am I going to feed these people??????

Hey Shawnee. Are you cutting grass regular like now. I think we will be starting soon.

Gotta go and relax for a min.

Loretta

Hi Y'all

Today I discovered what a negligent Mom I have been.
For most of the Chuckster's long life, he's had his own Catmint plant. It died down each Winter, and came back each Spring...until last year! I didn't realize how much he missed it.

Today I bought a small start of it (about 8" tall)...
I sit it down on the back porch and started pinching out the top growth to promote bushiness...
Enter the Chuckster, Stage Left: CHOMP ! CHOMP !...let's just say, it no longer needs pruned back

Couple hours later, Bob said to check out the Chuckster. He was rubbing his head and side against the plant. I may be going back for more plants, to satisfy his enthusiasm.

Aw, Loretta...what a day for you!
Wouldn't it be nice if non-LCing company would take it upon themselves to bring their own food? Hell, ANY company should contribute! (and help)
For company, the usual non-LC extras are bread, milk, and spuds.
I have a feeling this TX bunch is not your fav, huh?
LOL on the mowing...it needs done again, but all this lovely rain has saturated the ground. Grass is a gorgeous vibrant color!

Ginny, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!

Julie, we do get Variety in our weather, huh?

Zip, enjoy your night of culture.

Hey to SuSUN, Barb, Jacki, Montana.
Be back later on.

Been running all day doing some retail therapy and gagging some lollies, but didn't get my "Italian Sports Car" to the laundry.
Maybe next week.

Thanks Shawnee, I got both yours and Ginny's e mail. Those soaps and lotions sound wonderful.

Aww Poor Chuckster missed his Catmint plant. Amazing how something so simple gives them such pleasure. God I miss having a cat and so does DH. Oh Lordy, with my asthma, it's the last thing I need to think about. Might just take a look see at the shelter sometime though.

Ginny, expect a call from me soon. I can almost smell those soaps and lotions. Glycerin soap is difficult to find around here but I did find Pears Soap at our Dollar store and love it. Bet yours are much better though.

Roger, hope you enjoyed the Julliard graduating class. My niece was going to go there and was accepted but decided to go to another school. So what did you have for dinner? Details please?

Them thare washing machines get those vehicles really clean.

Julie, you will keep at that puzzle until it's done, if I know you. I think I would too and drive myself NUTS in the process. That's why I don't do them anymore.

We have Word, Works, Word Pad and note pad on this thing. I have used Word to do a few documents, note pad and word pad frequently but haven't even begun to explore Works. Oh Chit, now I'll be up all night LOL There is so darn much stuff on this machine that it would take several lifetimes to learn it all.

Susan, hope you enjoyed your lollygagging day. What did you end up doing.

Loretta, geez hope the truck is fixed soon so he doesn't have to keep driving back and forth. You too. How long a trip is it for you?

Yeah, take Shawnees advice and have them bring their own food. Just dreaming here.
If ya can't find a caterer, How about making some egg plant parm or several big trays of lasagna to feed the crowd. Do you have a deli in your grocery store? If so get gallons of pre made food to serve with burgers and dogs or chicken on the BBQ. Buy a cake or pie to serve with some ice cream, and use paper plates and plastic utensils. Keep it simple and picnic like.

Barb, did you get rain, snow or a mix of the slop?

Waving to our Jackie and Pam.

AMEN, Montana !!

Girl, stay away from that Shelter unless you're serious.....those eyes, those purrs, those sultry, slinky motions will do ya in...

Have a good night, Y'all.
