MVM's Tuesday March 29
Hope all of you are doing well and having a good morning. Lot's of running around for me if I ever get to bed tonight and STAY OFF THE COUCH tomorrow.
Here are some things to ponder. 1. Does a clean house indicate that there is a broken computer in it? 2. Why is it that no matter what color of bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white? 3. Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale? 4. Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized? 5. on electric toasters, why do they engrave the message "one slice"? How many pieces of bread do they think people are really gonna try to stuff in that slot? 6. Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance? 7. Why is it that no plastic garbage bag will open from the end you first try? 8. How do those dead bugs get into those closed light fixtures? 9. Considering all the lint you get in your dryer, if you kept drying your clothes would they eventually just disappear? 10. When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's alright?" Well, it isn't alright so why don't we say, "That hurt, you stupid idiot?" 11. Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over? 12. Is it true that the only difference between a yard sale and a trash pickup is how close to the road the stuff is placed? 13. In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat? 14. How come we never hear father-in-law jokes? 15. If at first you don't succeed, shouldn't you try doing it like your wife told you to do it? 16. The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends, if they're okay, then it's you. |

Hi Linda; Good Wake Up gags
![]() ![]() Just chiming in with little to report. Rain has stopped...it was all day and VERY heavy, coming at us on East winds right off the Atlantic (Nor'easter? At least every last grain of salt has finally been taken down the storm drains and back into the ocean where it belongs (certainly not in my vascular system or underfoot.) Now if we can just count on our "maintenance" staff not to put down a salt layer as a precaution against some unforseen friggen' Summer HAIL STORM, we'll have clean uncrunchy sidewalks. Loretta, Things worked out for you. With the 11 year old car with PLENTY of mileage, had you blown a tranny ro a head gasket, you'd have scrapped her rather than spend a grand on her. AND had you cancelled the collision last year, you'd have gotten nothing (IF you live in a no-fault state where only YOUR collision pays for your damage.) You got $1600 to put toward your nice shiny almost-new Accord. (Can I ask what you paid, only because I am auto shopping myself?) Gym and food shopping (some nice fresh fish for dinner I hope.)

Mornin"
Weather report = rain/snow Better getting up today, was wide awake at 4:30 ready to go Thoughts to ponder Linda are way.....cute! That should take alll day. # 4 is getting posted in this house! I'm going to try # 16 at work today KY is probably pretty good for buying cars, price wise. When we did DD's Honda, the lowest price we could get here in CO with our salesman that we had for years was $500 more than what we got in MN with someone we didn't know. Julie, how's the maintaining going? Any new plans for weight control to share with the rest of us? We could use some gems or should I say "jewels". Waving to the rest and wishing you a pleasant day! Barb

Hi to all
Linda I sure am having a problem posting a new thread over on the Golden. I tried to put up the water thread last night and again this morniing without success. It just won't take it. Thanks for the Points to Ponder. I have kids like this: Quote:
The 2002 Honda, a Special Edition Accord, was a certified used Honda. (for whatever that is worth) The sticker price on it was 16,999. We went back and forth for a while and I ended up with a bottom line of 17,300 which included tax, title, and license. (16,200 for the car) Those other things add up. I did pay an extra $849 for a extended warrantee which takes me to 2009. No deductable and it includes rental car, towing etc, etc. I questioned doing that but it give me peace of mind since it is a used car. Good luck on car shopping. I don't care for it. Barb when is your spring break? The kids around here are out this week. Those car dealers are probably cut of the same cloth. I sure get impatient with their going back and forth to talk to that "someone" in another room. Hey to Julie, Ginny, Susun, Shawnee, Pam if she is checking in. Nice day out there today and I want to take advantage of it. Even if it is to just sit in the sun. I am feeling better now that my iron pills are kicking in. I was just drug out before. I am itching to wash that new Honda.

Hi Y'all
Another wet and wild day here, Winter-ish finally, now that Spring is supposedly here ![]() Yesterday one of our local stores started its annual "2 for a Buck" plant starts....fushias and geraniums. I bought a total of 32, will start making up hanging baskets and pots when the weather settles down. The Plant displays were OUTSIDE the store, in the wild weather...the ONLY customers pickin' and choosin' were hard-cores like me; I noticed they were my age and older. This is my DH: Quote: Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized? Thanks for the List, Montana...sure hope you are feeling better! Julie, enjoy your Bowling ![]() Barb, #16 might scare ya ![]() Zip, good luck with the car shopping. Hope ya find a good deal, but most of all, a dependable ride. Ginny, Thanks for the List of goodies....bet your kitchen smells as great as your GH in bloom, when ya cook up batches. Loretta, Yup...you need to wash that car..once ya get some time and labor invested in it, it becomes more "yours". Name it and claim it Had fried cabbage last night, thought of you, of course! I have this shaker of Fajita Spices, (label just states: spices, herbs)...anyhoo, fried the thin slices in olive oil, added the spices, Kielbasa..YUM! I'm gonna go for the Bi annual eye check this afternoon...time for new specks. Check back later. Shawnee |

Hi Gang!
Bin at the salt mines today! It was sunny with blue skies again, came home with no coat on, the snow is definitely thawing lots of grassy patches and mud around. YEAH! Ginny, Thanks for the email on the soaps and lotions. Lovely stuff, reading about the fragrances can almost smell them up here! Thanks for asking Sassy is doing okay, she did miss her Mom last night early evening a car was on next doors driveway and she thought they had come back for her. Took me a while to sooth her and calm her down. She is a good girl on a walk, house trained and loves to be out doors most of the day. Oliver is an indoor critter, timid on his walks and ready to go home shortly after we set out. Shawnee, That sure is a terrific plant sale! You have your work cut out fer you 32! Loretta, Wow, that was quick, you have a new set of wheels! Which iron pills are you taking? I take 300mg of Palafer daily. I take it with 500 Vit C to help with the absorption. I have been taking this for the past 4 or 5 years and I am just hovering at the bottom of the norm range. ![]() Julie, Did I see ya run in? Yes, do give us some gems on weight loss tips, or Jewels will be even better, good one Barb. Barb, Wow, you sure are an early riser! Some on this BB are just going to bed at that time! ![]() I heard Colorado Springs has the cleanest air quality in the US. Great stuff! Roger, Yes, Yikes on that quake in Indonesia! Thanks for the tips on organizing the favs. I did re title the folders so I would know whats in them. Sure feels good that they a tidy and a much shorter list. Helps one delete a few too! We had salmon last night cooked in a new citrus marinade with several veggies as sides. Hope you can find some good Fish for your supper tonight! Linda, What a terrific way to start the thread, it seems #16 is popular. There are 8 of us on this BB...with those stats, which two? Hope your feelin better today and able to fight that nasty bug! Wavin to Jacki, Pam and All! SuSUN ![]() |

Roger, the SALT IS GONE
You must not have had as much as we have. Ours won't be gone until the street sweepers and road washing trucks go through sometime in April or May.Barb, I like #4 and have tried 16 but most of my friends are totally NUTS. LOL Julie, How did bowling go? Hell, why are any of us here? Loretta, what kind of problem are you having with the new post? Do you click on the "New Thread" tag at the top left of the screen? It's right next to the forum jump tag. Sounds like you got a fairly good deal on the price. Most dealers won't come down much on them. Darn it all. We want pictures of that new Honda ASAP. Is it a 5 speed, and is it RED? Shawnee, take it when you can get it. Rain and snow that is.At least you got to pick out plants with out too many people around. Young ones won't bother when the weather is nasty. Umm Fried cabbage sounds good. I like mine with lots of onions. Susan, can you try e mailing me Ginny's written material? She tried to e mail it to me several times but when I try to open it, it takes me to my Word program and my documents for some strange reason, not hers. Anyone else feel free to try also. I'm so frustrated!!. If any of you have my stny.rr.com addy, try that too. TIA |

Linda, Though the document is written in WORD, and I don't have it installed...because I'm lazy, I opened it perfectly well in WORD PAD. So just RIGHT CLICK on the file and choose OPEN WITH and then select WORDPAD (all Windows Installations have it.) See if that does the trick for you. PLEASE be careful not to check the OPEN ALL FILES OF THIS TYPE WITH THIS PROGRAM...you just want to do it this one time. (Incidentally the type of problem you're having with WORD reminded me of the MILLION reasons I haven't reinstalled it...I HATE the program.) No fish appealed so I bought a BJ's Roaster and it was yummy with some red "whatchamacallits" and some broccoli. That 10 pound bag od whatchamacallits is lasting a good long time, but they are starting to get a tad soft. And I have enough chicken leftover for a nice curry for two on Thursday. Good night all.
