Hi Linda, and everyone.

So sorry you're sick. It sounds like more than a cold because a cold doesn't typically make us sick to our stomachs. It must be extremely virulent if you can give it to your brother in Montana!
Rest, look out the window, and enjoy the DELUGE of Spring rain we're having. Weatherman said 2 inches possible today...that could have been 14 or 16 inches of snow with colder air.

Bob is off to work and I'll try to spiff up the apartment, work out and see what I can dig out of the freezer for dinner (not going shopping.) Spaghetti with Meatsauce AND Meatballs appeals and we haven't had it in a while. I must still have a couple quarts of homemade sauce in there.
Indian Brunch Buffet was absolutely DELICIOUS yesterday and held us for the whole day except for a small bowl of 10 PM corn flakes.

Thinking about Pam all day. It sounds like it was quite a severe heart attack. I wonder if it will change her way of eating?

A NOTHING day awaits me...that's ok.

Ginny,
Are you going to offer your soap on e-bay or just deal with retailers?
Yeah, I get a flush from even the pointy 125 mg segments of niacin unless I take them with a LARGE meal. It's not a BIG one though with swollen lips and tongue and deep purple from naval to forhead...that comes at 500 mg. I read several years ago that the No-flush niacin is of little use for cholesterol control and much more damaging to the liver. I'll continue my 3- 125 mg. hits until I get my lipids done (this week or next.) I want to see if the plain vanilla niacin is having ANY effect on my HDL's.
Happiness to all.

Morning, I guess!

Got up early just to see how long it will take to motivate one to get dressed and go to work. Watching it rain sounds like an option. We are getting rain/snow for the rest of the week also. CA has been so generous this year.

Sounds like you have flu - Linda!! Everyone at work (a week ago) had some kind of crap and I avoided them like a plague. I hope everyone is back to their cheerful selves.

Anyone hear anymore about Pam other than it was not blockage? I was wondering also how this will affect way of eating and meds.

Enjoy your "nothing" day Zip!

Barb

Barb,

I think we can ASSUME there was a blockage. The biggest question is how much damage was done to the heart muscle...and the extent of other blockages that may need to be treated with angioplasty...or bypass!

HAPPY EASTER MONDAY!

Good Morning Gang,

It seems we are having the drizzle all round today. Even in the UK they are having a down pour...but that's not new for over there!

Loretta,
WHAT A CUTIE LEAH IS!Thank you for posting that Pic...they are such a delight to see. I love her Easter dress too!

Linda,
Hope you have a better day of it today! Keep the handwashing and surfaces wiped down well to reduce the bacteria your system has to cope with....sorry can't help the public health nurse in me.
Can you tolerate some ginger tea?

Barb,
Poor gal off to the salt mines agin!
Me tomorrow!
Sassy is DD dog.

Roger,
Thanks for converting the rain into inches of sneux, at least that's a blessing, not having to shovel the rain! It is washing lots of our stuff away, can see more green and brown today.
Glad you enjoyed the Indian.
I am due to take my lipids work...I may take some Niacin too...it puts me off cuz of the flushing.

Ginny,
Yes, send us all your site...wanna see what yer up to!
That sounds a great idea of Rogers, to sell it on ebay. Sold any rocks lately?

Julie,
Are ya back to chauffering tomorrow? wink

Shawnee,
The doggie trip sounds like it was alot of FUN, doggie heaven for the Pups! They love all the attention when they are out eh? And you got some time with Kaci too!

SENDING WELL WISHES FOR PAM! I know she will be in our thoughts over the next little while until she is fully recovered.

Wavin to Jacki,

HUGS, SuSUN

Hi to all and Happy Day after Easter

Going to go car shopping today since I have news that my car will be totaled (from my insurer).
Let me see now, minus my $500 deductable I will end up with about $1600 which is not much to put toward that new car. Wish I could add another 0 to that. I have not heard from any other car insurance co yet.

Zip my Flush Free Niacin is causing me some flushing. I have decided to take it before I go to bed. I had not heard that other news on the niacin about it being ineffective. Where did you see that info?

Ginny do you make candles too? I have been burning them on a hot plate type thing and really like it. Most soaps with fragrance make me itch. My laundry detergent even has to be fragrance free. I am so sensitive

Susun I sure can tell you are enjoying Ella's vacation. We sure are seeing a lot more of you lately. Glad you are getting some time for yourself and DH.
She will be growing a lot while she is gone. Thanks for the compliments on Leah. I think the medicine is making her ears drain because they have been bleeding some.

I though I read somewhere that Pam had a fibrillation problem with her heart?

Shawnee Leah is having to see the Doc again in another week. They are hoping that the medicine to unplug her ears will work first.

Barb I like this new LOOK on the board. Where are the colors you choose. I feel like I am missing a lot. I like the quick response thingy since I am not all that gabby.

Geesh, Linda you have got the full size crud. Hope you were able to get the N & V under control. Rest up and get your strength back. I am waiting to hear from the doc about my bones. I hesitate to take calcium because of a large kidney stone I had in the 80s. Not sure what to do.

Later folks
Loretta

Loretta,

I think you have to go to "Post reply" to get the colours.

Yes, you were right on the fibrillation problem for Pam.

That car shoppin is gonna be quite costly with only $1600.00 from the insurance.

Yes, I am enjoying my freedom. I AM here more often too!

Loretta,
That STINKS on the price the insurance company settled on. What was the year, model and mileage of your Honda?
If I spot something on the No-flush vs. Flush niacin, I'll e-mail you.

Susuan,
Good for you; you know you can rename all the faves too so you don't have to look at any silliness like http://crapola/direct/bibbidy/bobbit...l......Instead you can call it CINDERELLA and it still points to the same link!

Usually fibrillation occurs AFTER the heart attack cause by the blockage. It's the fibrillation that kills by stopping all blood flow.

Been having an annoying 2 evenings with my DSL connection...first time in 8 months. Tried Verizon customer service, next time I'll just drive a 10 penny NAIL INTO MY FOOT INSTEAD!

WOW...did you guys hear about today's quake...8.7 and in almost the same place as the Tsunami starter! Jesus, that's a BIG BIG quake.

Feeling a bit more human today and even got out for a few hrs. Miserable rain and boy, are the rivers and streams HIGH!! Flooding in Conklin down the hill from us.

Roger, That Quake was awful but so far, no tsunami. Thank heavens.

Our Pam was DX with emphysema and Congestive Heart failure.. This chronic lung disease is a major risk factor for right-side heart failure and fibrillation. She was a heavy smoker. ( Glad I finally Quit.) Let's hope she doesn't have Pulmonary hypertension too.

Susan, it's nice to get those favs. organized isn't it? Glad you are enjoying your free time.

Loretta, OMG little Leah is such a doll in her Easter outfit. What a happy looking little gal.
Are you going to get another Honda?
I sure hope the other insurance companies will come up with more money for you. Sheesh!!

Barb, Naw it's not the flu. BELIEVE ME, I've had that a time or two years ago. Just a nasty virus.

Sorry your spring break is over. Bummer.

Ginny, thanks for the info on your soaps and lotions. I'll try again to open that file. LOVED the pictures.

Waving to Shawnee, Julie and Jackie

My Honda was a 1993 Accord with 142,500 miles on it. She served me well and the blue book value is $2100. That is what they go by, even though I had full coverage with a $500 deductable. I should have dropped that to liability only when she reached 10 yrs old.

My new used Honda is a 2002, Special Edition Accord, 4 door. The mileage on it is 29,000. I bought the extended warranutee which takes me to 2009, no deductable and full coverage including rental costs. Does not include accidents. Same color as my old model. I am happy. Picture later.

Hey all,

Had to get car tags for all 3 vehicles today since they're all March renewals. I must have planned it just right as I didn't have to wait in line! Woohoo! At $24 a pop, that was a quick $72 dollars!

Since y'all asked, I'll email you about the soaps..... I'm not putting them on ebay since there is so much of that out there already, just taking orders and have a basket at the store across the street. It's an enjoyable pastime for me even if it includes being in the kitchen for this non-domestic person LOL! I have pics too.

Loretta, glad you found a new-to-you Honda so soon! I hope she will be as good as the last one! Do post pics please.

Linda, hope you've turned the corner and are feeling better now. That crud has been going around all over, and I'm very glad all I wound up with was that cold. Hate hate hate stomach trouble!

Zip, my FIL took the niacin and always commented on the flush from it. I sure enough WON'T be taking it as I've got no desire to resume anything resembling a hot flash!

Shawnee and Julie, post when you can!

Susan, our rain is supposed to clear off tomorrow, but it was chilly today...only in the 50's! We're supposed to see 70 tomorrow and I will be GLAD FOR THAT! How is Sassy doing for you?

Barb, I know it's very hard to go back to the grind.... looks like it's time for us all to win the lottery! Are you all recovered from your vacation?

Well, all, off to email and then bed.
