SUNDAY for MVM, 3/13/2004

Good morning,

We had a nice day yesterday and everybody but me loved SHOCKHEADED PETER: it had puppets and I HATE puppets. It was a grand guignol farce involving how some children were slaughtered for their sins...YUP. Like one little kid's parents got tired of his thumb-sucking so they chopped off his thumbs and he bled to death, and Cruel Frederick would torture animals until while whipping his dog he got his leg savaged and he got rabies, went mad and foamed himself to death.
Oh and there was a kid who was only given soup and he HATED soup so he didn't eat it...and slowly STARVED to death.
But, they made it all very funny and "Oilcan Harryish" with beautiful, but weird, musical numbers in an almost Elizabethan production.

Julie,
that JIT actually means "Just in Time" and it's a translator for Java. If you look just above it you'll see VM machine. That VM (virtual machine) is the MSoft version of Java.

Loretta,
Glad your son was able to update your computer. Only trouble is that XP requires a FAST computer and often times an upgrade of Windows likes that chokes an old 'puter and, though it runs, it runs very SSLLLOOOOOWWWWWLLLLYYYYY!

Susun,
What a WONDERFUL idea for you. I've read that in the NYC area, experienced nurses are pulling $90 G's.

Ginny,
What did the little "fixer upper" go for?
Oh, and weather in the "60's. As the Every Borthers said: "Dre-e-e-e-eam, Dream Dream Dre-eam!"

Ohhh, the salt...large sharp-edged and blue. As you walk in the neighborhood, you have to speak louder to be heard over the constant CRUNCH-CRUNCH. Dozens of unbootied dogs have been to the vet as a result. If you listen REALLY hard, you can hear the underbodies of the cars corroding!

I think I am having trouble with my Cozaar (losartan for BP)...every time I reintroduce it my knees and yesterday my back cause me great pain. Sleeping was a chore from the DEEP pelvis and thigh pain. I took 2 Alleve on arising and, knock-wood, pain is almost gone. No Cozaar for the rest of the week and then I'll try ONCE more.

We have a WEEK of lovely weather forecast...I hope they are telling it true!

To everyone, my love!

(Linda, congratulations AGAIN...it's a wonderful thing you are FINALLY doing for yourself.)

Shawnee,
I have one quibble with the "married sex burns off calories." I GUARANTEE you that an extensive period of promiscuity is SUPERB for the waisteline.
More work than singles tennis, EASY!

In my youth, I'd crawl home at 5 AM, EXHAUSTED after an evening with 3 or 4 new-found friends and I was able to eat and drink ANYTHING and remain wasp-waisted!

No time this morning as I got up late, 9:00! DS1 and family coming for dinner and I need to get to the store, make dessert, run the dust rag etc. Making chicken parmesan, green beans, salad and pasta and rolls for the non-Atkins. (for those inquisitive people) Dh just said we need to bath Bo and that means 1/2 hour of me drying him with a brush and hair dryer so now I REALLY need to get my butt in gear. Later and HI to all.

HI to all

Zip that play you describe does not sound like a show to be put on with puppets. What a weird play

Who on earth would write such drivel??? I suppose that is called "art".
My old pc is not mine anymore. I gave it to my son for his son. I am really content with my new one and am trying very hard to keep it "pristine" with out loading a bunch of soft ware on it. I think that just messes things up.

Susun sounds like the Florida plan might be very doable. Does your DH not want to leave Canada? Does he have other family there? There probably is more of a need for nurses there because of the elderly population. I sure would investigate especially of your DD and Ella can relocate without a problem.
Go for it!!!!

Barb sorry to hear about that cat scratch. Hope with the rx it is on the mend already. Were they your cats? My bp was a little low before I gave blood 102/72 she said. Plus the fact that my hematocrit was a little low too. Probably a combination of all. Next time I am bringing my own snack. They just have high carb stuff and no protein. What are you enjoying this weekend?

Shawnee I'd pick shoveling dirt over snow too. Both can get very heavy and hard on the back. Glad you took a day off but you will probably get some more ideas for your garden. Thanks for the update on Jackie. She sure stays busy there at home.
Do you have any plans for Easter Dinner? We don't celebrate it too much here. Would like to have something nice to eat for us.

Linda sorry to hear about your nephew. Thank God it was not more serious, like a paralysing injury. He sounds like a sensible kid since he is on the Dean's list. Maybe he could take his exams on line.
You might think about getting Gerard his own computer for next Christmas. I would not want to share. You could do wirless hookup to get online. Hope you are getting less of a desire for the cigs. It takes a while for that to leave.

Ginny do you all attend a lot of auctions? There sure seem to be a lot of them here in KY also. I have just been to one, but some stuff is not worth sticking around for. Sounds like you had an enjoyable day antiquing and visiting the town of Bell Buckle. We have several towns like that around here. The antiques really keep them going in the summer months. My DIL always wants to visit the shops for another piece of something.

HI to our lurkers today.

Have a great Sunday all and BE GOOD TO YOURSELF.

Hi Y'all

A real March day here...WINDY !

SuSUN, LOL...you'd previously left out a very important deciding Factor: DD's family willing to go South.

I suppose you've done some research in this area:
http://www.transitionfinancial.com/u...nce_canada.htm

Zip, I guess Congrats are in order, that you lived to tell about your "skinny-making" escapades. Different strokes...
My Bi-nephew partied like that; he didn't make it.

The Tulips are shooting upwards/budding like crazed steroid monsters. Might wanna change that 14 day bloom bet....its showing some Yellow.

Obviously I didn't attend that Play...otherwise the Headlines would read:
AS SHOCKED PLAY AUDIENCE COLLECTIVELY GASPS, INSCENSED CHEROKEE GRANDMOTHER ATTACKS ABUSIVE PUPPETS

I won't dwell too much on my fantasizing...suffice it to say the Puppets' strings were sliced, the Playwright was sliced and diced, and the Puppeteers were scalped...
REVENGE on poor taste is my kind of Humor.

Loretta, I will only be planting Annual pots and baskets, a few Toms too...Mostly I'll be doing clean up and maintenance on the too-much already planted.
DH ready to take the boat out yet?

Montana, your nephew was really lucky to survive without more serious injury...(tho it sounds serious enough!). Have ya noticed, Intelligence and Common Sense are not necessarily interchangable?

It was a lovely day around these parts for a change. Sun was out and it got into the mid 30's. Took my mom out and about and just gagged some lollies.

Roger, A Seminole grandma would gladly help the Cherokee grandma take care of the puppets and their creator. Sometimes I think the world has gone totally to hell.

If I had my druthers, most drugs would be destroyed. BIG PHARMO and the corrupt FDA are only trying to make money.

Hope you enjoyed the nice weather.

Julie, did you get Bo all buffed and fluffed?
Hope dinner went well.

Ginny, are you and DH LOOKING for a fixer upper? Wish I could get DH to go antiquing.

Loretta, Do you have two computers or doesn't your DH enjoy them much? LOL I have thought about getting another one for here but it's not very practical. After all, we did get along without any for a good many years.

Barb, how's that cat scratch? Hope the antibiotic has kicked in by now.

Shawnee, yeah I have noticed that intelligence and common sense are not interchangeable. Damned fool kid.

mutter, mutter doing a back flip off a ski jump is pure stupidity.

My GOD your tulips are starting to bloom? We have YET to see a robin in this area let alone the lawn.

Off to catch up, watch 60 minutes and then a PBS special on NYC.
