I have maintained since 1999. Can I lose more?

I am being realistic here- I DO need to lose 10 more lbs.

Has anyone gone back to a strict induction and got the last bit off?
I need some encouragement. I've tried my heart out with diet and exercise. Any advise would be great! Thank you!

Silverheart, Hi

Congrats on such a LONG Maintenance

You haven't given us much to go on...like what your Stats are, what ya eat, what type of exercise...Medical conditions, like are ya Insulin resistant or Hypothyroid? On BC pills or Anti-depressants? Drinking enough water? All these things can affect weight loss.

Is it really "weight" ya wanna lose, or is it more of a "less than perfect" body you need to tighten up?

Do I sound like a nosey ol' Auntie?

Generally speaking, the right diet and exercise techniques that work for you personally usually gets ya to where ya wanna be.

Lots of gals are joining various exercise Challenges; seems they are able to transform their bodies, dropping bodyfat and and gaining muscle.

Please give us a tad more info, and I'm sure some of the Ol'Timers here will have some feedback for ya.

Best Wishes

Shawnee

Have you tried counting calories?

Go to countcarbs.com, use their tools link and it will give you your basal metabolic rate (the minimum number of calories you need for basic bodily function) and also your active metabolic rate that factors in your exercise, etc.

Alot of the time, low carbers are eating too many calories and that's why its so hard to lose those last few pounds.

Give it a try!

I reached my goal in May 2004. But I changed my goal a couple of times and did go back to induction several times. Recently I was trying to lose 5 more lbs to get to 105 but have since changed my mind. I have really concentrated on exercise for my Abs in the last 2-3 weeks and I am seeing progress at my current wt (just under 110).

Hi Silverheart,

The above is solid good info!

Yes, lots of things factor in to this WOL. 5lbs of Fat takes up much more space than 5lbs of lean muscle.

Exercise is key here, along with the water and calorie intake.

Great advice given by those above.

Good Luck Silver heart!

I've actually gained a few pounds back and am trying to lose them again. I've got myself on strict Induction for the week and more like maintenance levels for the weekend hoping a few pounds will eventually come off. As Betty said, it may be time to start watching calories closely too. Good Luck.

I to am trying to lose about "10" more pounds and it is harder. I am 5'4" and I have maintained at 138 - 140 for the last three months. I try to watch my calories too. Just not moving the pounds off. Maybe my body is adjusting or it is just SAD. It is very cloudy here in Kentucky in the winter. I messed up today, because I went to someone else's house for Easter. I did just a little damage. We will see how much "water" I put on in the morning. I will try the 3 day meat fast and see if I get back on PP program. I joined my curves gym in January. Still I have not lost weight, but I have lost inches. I am just gonna be patient and wait this out. What about switching to a calorie diet only, like WW. Anyone try that?

Thanks for listening out there!
