MVM Thursday
"MISTAH DILLON, MISTAH DILLON"...drag hop, drag hop. I guess that paid pretty well for 9 years.
Thanks for that fascinating link Barb...especially the three lower links on the how-to's and why-for's. I saw a long show years ago how they compressed dirt into those tires and stacked them with no need for mortar. Fascinating and you are left with yard thick walls and a home that costs nothing to heat or cool. That aluminum can staircase outside would take some getting used to though. Perhaps it was actually the WEAVER house that I saw being built on THIS OLD HOUSE. And after seeing 3 bedroom Manhattan apartments selling for MUCH MORE money, it seems like a STEAL at 3.75M. Did you notice the realtor was named JACK WEAVER? Shawnee, I see you GOOGLED the artist He had a big PERFECT feather that he made from his own HAIR. Many of the works beeped and booped in intricate patterns powered by MILES of electrical wire and intricate relays. The guy is a better engineer than I am with FAR more patience.Julie, No procrastination on my part...the reason I said I had to start TOMORROW was because I had already had Linner and overeaten...well last night was ONLY a layer of MRS. FIELDS CHOCOLATES. But that's the last of it. No candy til next Valentine's Day 75% sales. Today, I'm a new man! Loretta, You GOTTA take a break from the gym periodically...otherwise you get VERY stale and you're wasting your time, and I was going 5 or 6 days a week. A GOOD aspect is that if I take 2 weeks off, my membership is moved back 2 weeks so I don't have to cough up another $800 quite so soon ![]() !To all a good day.

Hey, we COULD be neighbors, but not the one who would cross the road to borrow a cup of flaxseed.
By the way the crow flies, we would be close enough!!Someone mentioned "Chester" -- Dennis used to own and operate a restaurant in Ridgway called the RED BARN. He and his wife would be there once a month and line dance and serve people. So, I took my mom and daughter to dinner there. We were served by him and took pictures. As you can imagine, my mom was thrilled and my daughter didn't know who he was!! Very pleasant people and interested in others having a good time. They have since then left this area and are selling the Earthship. But we all remember hearing about the construction with the old tires and cans. Most " celebrites" in this area are a pain in the butt. Always in costume and very arrogant -- but Dennis never was!! Ralph Lorene owns most of "Dallas Divide" the mountains you saw in the distance and is a stuck-up kind of person. A friend of my DH's was a foreman for his ranch for 30 years -- all Ralph ever wanted was something for himself and no one else. When he would fly in on his private plane, everything had to be ready for HIM!! Dennis Weaver always had something for the people meeting him and gave back to the community. Just my 2 cents.!! Enough of the rich and famous -- I'm not their neighbors!! Your little Bo is sooooooo cute Julie!! Are you showing this year at dog shows? SuSUN -- here's to getting you back up --- on line that is!! Roger, you would have loved our house we had in NM. We dug into the hill and created a solar house with gray water that irragated the garden that was a raised bed. Solar is not all that it is cracked out to be -- we use entirely too much electricity now days for solar. The panels are expensive and the batteries are even more expensive. We could not use a **** pot all day and still have enought for lights that night. So, we went to some electrical current from the city. The next house we owned, I went to the wall and just turned up that thermastat. !! Waiting to hear from the rest of the gang....... Barb

Hi everybody,
Had some computer problems myself this morning. Something to do with LAN connection not connecting. Had to call Roadrunner, crawl under this desk and disconnect the modem then plug it back in to reset it. Everything works well now. The guy said it could have been do to solar flairs or something. Roger, I googled the artist too and had a ball looking at some of his stuff. Yick on finger and toe nail clippings. Yeah lay off the candy. Sugar will kill ya. Julie, Bo is a doll and makes me want another dog or cat. But I don't think so. It's too difficult to have them pass on. Susan, No DSL connection??? Did you call your ISP company? Maybe it's the same thing that happened to mine. Barb, Now that I think of it, I remember seeing the HGTV special about Dennis's house. That was quite some construction job. It's nice to know that he is a descent guy and not a selfish snob like some of those wealthy asshats. We did passive solar when we built this house and it only costs us about $500.00 to heat it. Not bad at all. We have an oil fired baseboard hot water system with an attached water heater. Those underground homes always intrigued me. Do you have any pictures? Shawnee, did you ever order that carbquick bake mix? I'm toying with the idea and want to know if you like it. Off to lurk on the recipe bb and Netrition site. |
