Wed 3/2 for MVM

Hey all,

Still cold here, but at least we didn't get any accumulation of sneaux in our area. Just a few flurries, and THAT is ENOUGH! Hopefully we're on a warming trend now, supposed to get in the mid 40's today.

Cold is getting better, slowly but surely. I thought last night I might be relapsing, but once I got home and in the warm I was much better. Got a good night's sleep, so on the upswing today.

One of the guys at work will be out W,T,F for funeral leave. He's one of the 2 third shifters, so I may have to stay a little late and help make sure the remaining guy is set up well. Hoping for a couple light freight nights so I can get outta there at a reasonable time.......like my NORMAL quitting time

We're Ford/Chevy people here. Like Ford for trucks and Chevy for the Astrovan! Warranty has never been an issue for us, since what we buy is long past any warranty time or mileage. I'd like to get me an old latter 60's model Chevy PU some day, just as a play pretty....I like the body style of the Chevys in that era, and they were some TOUGH trucks! Give me a good old domestic vehicle, and I'm a happy camper.

Hope everyone is doing well today!

Checking in!!!!!!!!
Got a busy day planned. Didn't get the damn car back yet!!! So have to take Nick to school, go to the bank, Costco and pick up 5 yo from daycare and take her to pre school. Then go pick up Nick from school. I will be so glad when I get my car back!!
Nick is done with 2 of his classes and frees up 2 days of the week. He only will be going to school on Monday and Wed. till graduation! Remember this work at your own pace at the alternative show. He got another job at IHOP bussing. Not a glamorous job but it's some money!

So whats going on with all of you today?

Ginny, bundle up. Glenda from the GY bb said it was 25° where she lives in Tenn. Hope you don't have to work late tonight. You must have to wear lots of clothes and gloves outside working. Wish you could retire to your Orkids! Wouldn't that be great?

OK, I'm off to start my day....

High Ginny, Julie, and the gang.

We just got back from the WHITNEY MUSEUM and saw some bizarre modern stuff. Best was an installation by Tim Hawkenson of gears powered by a tiny motor you might use to power a toy. It was spinning a 1/4 inch gear at a furious RPM and was geared to a larger gear (maybe 1/2 inch diameter) that turned at a slower speed and so on. Well, the gear train was 24 enmeshed gears that stretched accross the room and the largest at the end was about 8 feet in diameter. Each gear was marked with its RPM...the largest gear made one revolution every 83 years...cool idea, no? We didn't wait to see if that count was accurate.

Linner at CURRY IN A HURRY was good and BIG!

A lot of walking and the weather is getting damper and chillier...I wonder if something is coming our way? Glad to be in for the night.

Ginny,
take it easy at work...a relapse is always 10 times worse than first time around.

Julie,
Send a nasty note to Henry Ford!

Later, kids...gotta cut down on my food starting tomorrow (also back to gym after 2 weeks "vacation". I really DO need them occasionally because otherwise I get stale and the exercise stops paying dividends.

Hi to all

That #$@ man said that the boat would be ready today. So off we went to pick it up. The sign on the door said closed on Wednesday afternoons. Dh just talked to him yesterday. We sat for a few min in the car and the fellow came out. He and his brother were there working on the boats, but not ready as he said it was. Well not a wasted trip since I stopped at Krogers there and got some Vital Wheat Gluten and Flaxseed meal.
Julie I am joining with you today on the gripes.

Thanks Zip for the search tips. I will try them next time I am looking for some info. "Curry in a Hurry"? now that is novel.
I am suprised you don't go to the gym at all for 2 weeks. Tomorrow you will be hear (here) with aching muscles.

I feel for you Julie not getting that car back yet. Even though we are retired and Dh does not drive we stilll have our 2 cars. I just like my Honda for gas mileage and he needs the Ford to pull the boat (if we ever get it) Cold here this am in Ky also. 24 or so, no wind though so it was almost pleasant after yesterday's wind.

Ginny hope you don't have to stay too long over at work. You need to rest up so that cold stays away. I though this crud was gone but I have lost my voice today and continue to cough. I feel fine otherwise.
How is that red truck of yours doing?

Hey to Linda, Shawnee, Jackie. Susun where are you?
Good to have you Shawnee posting on the water thread.

Later
Loretta

Hi everyone,

Not much going on in my corner of the cold world. At least we aren't getting much more snow...just snow showers but it's darn cold and windy. Seems more like early Jan.

G left the garage door open when he was clearing the driveway and a little field mouse got in. I think I chased him out but we went out to Sam's Club and the dollar store so stopped to buy a couple of mouse traps. They are loaded for bear...with peanut butter

Geez Ginny, not MORE OT?? Hope the freight deliveries are light so you can get out on time.
Take care of that cold, ya hear?

Julie, Yippie!! Glad you are finally getting that car back. It's not fun to be down to one vehicle at all.
My son's Nissan SUV has been in the body shop for over three weeks. He slid into a tree on his hill while making a turn and messed up a few things including the air bag harness. They had to order that part from Japan of all things. No one in the country stocks them because they are so expensive.

Roger, Love that bizarre modern "art". I would love to see that tiny little motor.
Curry in a Hurry? Oh my, that sounds wonderful!

I think we have to blame the Canadians for sending this cold front our way. Thanks Susan

Loretta, Boy would I be furious if I were you and DH. So when did the idiot say the boat would be ready?
Love Kroger's but unfortunately we don't have one here. Albertson's and Rossaurs are also great but alas... none are here.

Shawnee, it is good to see you posting on the water thread. Hope you get back on track with the water intake.

Off to catch up.

OMG Barb!! How wouldn't anybody want to own that house, maids included. Can't imagine washing those windows!! I really love that staircase. I can just picture myself coming down there to meet my guests...you guy's of course.
Now I wonder who will OFFER ME $3,750,000???

Nice house Barb. I like the idea that Dennis did some hands on tile work himself.
Love to look at those expensive properties and dream. Two in Montana that we were in were over 28 million and absolutely stunning little "Montana homes". LOL Made me SICK!

Julie, anyone who can afford that home wouldn't need to wash windows. They would hire it out.

Hi Y'all

..well, excuse me but that house is mine! My drums, beads, fans, stones, etc would look great in it

Ginny, glad to hear you are improving! Hope ya don't have to overdo it at work, and risk reversing your progress.

Aw, shoot, Loretta...that bug popped up again, huh? and what a bummer re DH's boat !! That's just cruel crap to pull on a Fisherman
Love the Colonial Yellow; gonna look all crisp and inviting.
Good Rain today for us...BTW, Cherokees didn't do a raindance....Rain requests were more likely to involve a Conjurer, prayers, fire, a deer's tongue.....TMI ?

Montana, I'm sipping hot lemon juice/water. Bob says WHAT a waste, its no good without whiskey in it.

LOL, Zip, that Hawkinson is beyond bizarre...while I approve the use of organic materials re artistic endeavours, utilizing his nail clippings is a bit much for me.

Julie, glad to hear you have your car back. Do you need a Timeline Chart to keep up with your daily schedule?
Good for Nick, nothing wrong with honest labor....real work builds character.

Barb, you certainly have a classy neighborhood, if Weaver's home is in it.
Remember when he played Chester?
He waited on tables and sold Vacs as a struggling actor. Glad he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty while the construction was going on.

SuSUN, hope you pop in soon.

Did y'all catch Lady Aquila's posts on the Main? She lost 105 lbs, her DH 95 ! AMAZING, impressive.
