MVM TUESDAY

Storm is through NYC and we got about 4-5 inches. Roads and streets are already cleaned. Looks like Bingampton is still getting a bit more. The storm was worse bark than bite. We're hanging at 34°F. so what's there will be we wet now and slush later.

Barb,
The hut and hike sounds nice...especially from my warm desk chair!

Julie, It looks like FORD offers about the worst warranty of any major manufacturer:

Quote:
All FORD cars and trucks have a full manufacturer’s warranty for a term of 3 years and 36,000 Miles.
AND that appleies to the drivetrain. Really stinks and a good reason NOT to buy a FORD, if even THEY don't think their cars are good for more than 36K. Even Chrysler gives 7/70,000 on drivetrain.
Here's some comparisons:

http://www.edmunds.com/advice/warran...4/article.html

Hmmm, all protein diet.
Good Points: It WORKS because protein is very slow digesting and filling. It certainly provides all the building blocks we need.
Bad Points: Extremely expensive; hard on the kidneys (and gouty joints) with lots of nitrogenous wastes; saturated fat galore; and deadly dull after awhile.
For the occasional meal, yes. For long term, I think it's foolish.

Ginny,
I'm glad you're feeling better.

Linda,
When is Larry driving back...not in this weather I hope?

Nothing planned today. Eat and Read probably (Steinbeck's THE WINTER OF OUR DISCONTENT slooowwwwly). I too have let fiction go by the wayside for too many years thanks to that damn TV addiction.

Checking in before I'm off to bowling.
Zip, I wouldn't dare tell Chuck his Ford isn't as good as others. I know that and you know that but I'm not going to tell him. He lives and breathes Ford!!!

Loretta, hope you are feeling better today.

Linda, hope you aren't up to your eyeballs in snow drifts!

Hi to all the rest...

Got to run but will be back later. Keep on smiling...

Hi Kiddies,

Boy it's WHITE out there. According to the radio, we got about 9 or 10" so far and another 3" this afternoon. Tonight and tomorrow, a bit more. UGH!! G. broke in his new snow shovel. LOL. For some reason he just doesn't want to repair the riding tractor.

Julie, funny how some people are about their cars. My grandfather was a ford person and wouldn't consider anything else. Everyone told him F..fix O..or R..repair D..daily.

Roger, thanks for that link. We are definitely going to buy something new as soon as the weather breaks. I love the Ravs or Honda CRV but G likes the Subaru mainly because we can get a real good price on it just across the border in PA.
We shall see.

Steinbeck is great as is Patterson. I got back into reading for entertainment a few months ago and had forgotten how relaxing it was.

Larry and his wife drove home last Thursday, in that other storm, right after he saw the surgeon and got the cath out.

Shawnee, Did you finally find your tax info? We got ours out a couple of weeks ago.
It's nice to go through all those papers and get rid of the ones we don't need anymore.

Gosh I hope you people in the NW get some heavy, heavy spring snow. I really am fearful of what the fire season will bring.

Ginny, hope you are feeling better.

More later

Hi

Well thanks you easterners, we even have snow flurries here in Ky. Bet Ginny got a bunch according to the radio reports of school closings and the interstate there in Tn needing salt.
Thank goodness we have not seen any accumulation since Christmas.

Zip how do you find all of that info? Seems like when I start searching the the web for stuff I can't get very far and whatever I am looking for gets further and further away from me every click I make. I was trying to find some info on the federal mint and the new buffalo nickles. Couldn't really get there.

Barb glad that you had nice Hut accomodations. Heat, wow!!!!
Your just an outdoorsy kind of gal. Was the food that was served warm or just some cold items? I am always concerned about food. That last part I could have enjoyed going to Hot Springs for sore muscles.

Linda just read more books and stop all that cleaning and painting. I could use some help on my list if you like to travel.
I was going to do a lot this week but haven't even started yet. I am getting that procrastinators disease.

Signed our contract today for the siding. It will be Colonial Yellow, white shutters and trim and a nice brickred door and eagle. Guess it will involve some painting too. He left me a sample of the siding to I can match the color.

Shawnee I think I got the bug in the bud and am feeling lots better today with just a little cough. Maybe I just had a 24 hour virus with that other mess. You could change you avitar to someone doing a rain dance for you.

Susun has Dh has his appointment with the local chriopracter yet? Hope he finds some relief there and some hope along with it.

Ginny are you snowed in? or has it missed you. we just got a few flurries, luckliy. That is enough for me to remember what snow looks like.

Later folks,

Morning or afternoon, depending on your inner clock!!

Loretta, food was NOT served -- just open a can and heat it up on the wood fire and eat. Ya, I like doing outdoor things (every once in a blue moon) but usually I like my comfort too!! We have such a wonderful opportunity living here, we need to take advantage before we go and die or move.

FORDS -- Did you all see that commercial where the Chevy pulls the Ford out of the water? Or.......was it the other way around?

Linda, one of the younger new teachers here just rolled her Subaru in a ditch and lived to tell us just bruised - and the car is driveable. They think the mud was a cushion.

White is bright!! I bet all of you NE folks are walking aroung with shades!!

Hi Y'all

March came in like a gentle lamb here. (Almost sad bout that, I was expecting rain)....

Geez, Montana...got snowshoes handy? I thought G had a back problem; snowshoveling???
Yeah, got the Taxes turned in...I hate that our tax money is being wasted on stuff I disapprove of.

Loretta, glad to hear you are de-bugged. How's the boat coming along? (I posted my confession on your Golden Water thread...)
Guilt works on me...
Please explain Colonial yellow. Just read that yellow is supposed to brighten your mood. Ours is Southwestern Yellow, whatever that means...(medium, muted matte color)
Red doors are supposed to be "friendly, inviting..."...read that somewhere too.

Hey Barb, how's your muscles now? Did that Hot Springs soak fix 'em up?

Julie, I think many of us NW folk (of our generation) have always been loyal to whatever we liked as young drivers. I've noticed at the "Cool Car" shows that most of the attendees/owners are our age.

Zip, I prefer reading to tv...NO commercials!

To ALL, have a safe and warm evening.

Not sure how this will show up. Will try it.

Not too much different than our page.

We will go tomorrow to pick up the boat.

Loretta,

http://www.usmint.gov/kids/index.cfm.../newNickel.cfm

and

http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/...=nickel_series

These were the first two entries after I googled the following: Mint +new nickels...always use a space between the word before the PLUS sign but none afterwards. The + gives you something that MUST be there and a -(minus) is a woprd that MUST NOT.

I assume you have GOOGLE right into your address bar like we all fiddled with last year.
It's all in using the right search word.

(However if you spelled the word, nickle, you might have run into trouble
)
