FRIDAY for the MVM

Hi gang,

Loretta,
I think you are looking at the INTERNET SECURITY (Green Globe icon) and not seeing "REPORTS". Open the ANTI VIRUS instead...that's the icon with the yellow TV screen and some red scratching. Click that open, Reports on left, Activity log, Virsus Activity and you;re home free.

Julie,
I recommend the daily pad and DUTIFULLY mark down calories. When you get to your limit STOP! There's no way to "watch" calories in your head. Of course there's always the dreaded thought of low-carb INDUCTION, but I think I'd rather have my fingernails removed than try that ever again. If you're faithful to the calories there's NOTHING you can't have SOME of again.
But do what you gotta do; we support you.
I think anything that Norton can't repair, it deletes. There's a setting under options that let's you choose how it handles the crap. Why not pop to your QUARANTINE log and make sure everything in there is deleted...you don't want any escapees!

Linda,
I'll call SS commandant again today (thank GOD for speaker phones that you can hang up and go about your business) and find out EXACTLY what I need to do with my Birth Certificate and if I can't just take it up and SHOW them when I do my application without leaving it behind!

Shawnee,
Pups are absloutely ADORABLE...how does CHUCK fit in betweeen the two?

Ginny, Hope you're feeling better.

Susun, Barb, Jacki, Ciel, Tink and everyone...enjoy your weekend.

Oh, we got about 4-5 inches of snow last night and today is brightly sunny but still quite chilly (mid 20'S)

edit:
I was trolling the puter to see if I could find a very fast processor to replace my 933 Mhz Pentium 3 very cheaply. It seems that mine was about as fast as the Pentium 3's ever got to and then the switch was made to Pentium 4 so any upgrade has to include a new motherboard. Then the new motherboards need DDR memory and before long, EVERYTHING is replaced except the case! So no upgrades til they come out with the new WINDOWS in a year or two. I'm content. I WILL however open the case and vacuum...dust pu$$ies sticking out the slots

Hi Ya Roger Buddy and all that follow!

Glad to have a day off work!

Feeling a tad irritable, cuz started taking progesterone 100mg (2 weeks under my belt now) The Gyne said the side effects are similar to PMS symptoms...sheesh! I had a biopsy on the uterus lining and she said I have way too much estrogen feeding fibroids and all kinds of stuff, even the Breast Ca, so sounded a good idea at the time. I have snapped a couple of times at DH and a little at DD. Trying to stay in control cuz I do want it to block the estrogen. She said only for 4 months, then she will do another biopsy. Any tips how to get thru all this????

DH is more upbeat and called a local chiroprator today, but the guy is on holiday until Tuesday so DH left a message to make an appointment! Even if it is the placebo effect, it cant hurt, it is all health promoting info he will be surrounded with.

Roger,
Are you going to buy a small house or rent one? The paper chase is always frustrating, seems nothing goes straight forward. It is a good job I am not going thru that right now. I can see the headlines, woman with PMS goes on a rage with gov't officials! LOL!

Shawnee
THANK YOU for the PUP treat! Those pics are just adorable, takes away all that nasy irritable feeling. FURbabies sure do bring out the smiles and chuckles. I guess I had better hang out more with Oliver and Sassy. (DD's pup).

Ginny,
Hope that Med does the trick for you, it's great when you know your body so well. Keep that TLC a comin!

Loretta,
Glad to hear lil' Leah is doing well and her tube insertion went well!

Julie,
I gotta join ya on the menu challenge and or calorie count.
We have a saying at work, that calm and confident parents do not strive for perfection! I think that might apply here for our LC lifestyle.

Linda,
Hope you hear from Larry soon to put your mind at rest!
I think buying an inexpensive house might be another key to retirement living.

Barb,
OMG! Barb do be careful Hut Hopping....!
Otherwise, sounds like a great Fresh Air experience to be free of those germs!

Gotta stay calm and get thru my day! Not like me at all!

Hi Susun,

We're looking to buy a house, not necessarily SMALL, but necessarily CHEAP! Unfortunately we've been priced out of MANY loations. Ideally we'd tale Mary Tyler Moore's apartment which is up for sale, on 79th and Fifth overlooking Central Park...one apartment per per floor...but she won't budge from the $18 million she's asking! I said $100,000 CASH, but she wasn't impressed one bit!

Just called Harrisburg and indeed my Certificate from the Census is not a valid Birth Certificate. (God knows what it IS?) I ordered two copies and they should be here in a week or two. That way I can mail one to the SS Commandant and not worry too much about them losing it. Ten bucks apiece and $7 for the internet/credit card filing not too bad.

They polyurethaned the floor upstairs and it's a gas chamber in here.

Aww Roger, thanks for the hints. I always write down everything I eat when I'm ON PLAN but one little no no and I quit.
SuSun is right about the "perfect" menu! I have always had this "all or nothing" attitude and thought I had lost it during the last 21 months but it snuck (is that a word? LOL) back in my head. I really am just sick of always thinking about it and want to eat like a normal person whatever that is!! I just can't count calories and carbs both, it just isn't working and that is what I've been trying to do. I will not go back on induction either. I really don't need to lose but a few and then I really don't need that either. I'm at 119.5 but why do we always want a lower weight? I just need to get rid of the junk in my diet right now. Eat better and I WILL!! Thanks for the advice, I needed a friend here.

On the ss and getting a birth certificate copy, where do I write to get a copy? Can you request it online or do you have a phone #?
I would much rather get a copy.

Maybe you better get out of that apt. today so that smell can dissipate!!!

Oh SuSun, I tried the progest. stuff and let me tell you. You never saw such a bit&h in all your life. Talk about taking someones head off...I just couldn't stand myself so I quit them. Damn uterus, wish I could get rid of it. I'm ok now that the big M is over. Never heard of taking that because of too much estrogen.

Just cooked a sp. squash while I was sitting here. It's ready for dinner but then forgot we are eating out tonight. Lunch is out too. Geeez, ya suppose thats why I can't eat right? Nah, I do just fine eating out. Lots of salads and meat. Got to get dressed now. Thanks for the little coffee chat.

Hi gang,

The sun was out today so I went ramming around. Accu weather is talking about the possibility of a huge storm next week. Keep your fingers crossed that the conditions don't fall into place and bury us under tons of snow.

Roger, Glad you are getting a copy of that birth certificate. It makes life so much easier.
I tried calling SS again today but the wait was 18 minutes, too long for me since I don't have a speaker phone. <putting that on my list of "to get" things> LOL we have 7 phones in this place so I guess I can replace one of them.

On the way to the grocery store today I saw at least 12 houses for sale and that's just in a very small area. Prices here are some of the lowest in the nation. I'll get some local sites and send them to you. If you see something interesting, let me know and I'll tell you about the neighborhood and even have a look if you like.

Julie, You have to call the county clerks office where you were born and ask about getting a copy with the official seal.

Don't take this way of eating too seriously. You know what you can and can not eat, so just keep away from those things that you can't have, don't bother counting anything and relax. It will fall into place. AND HELL NO, I wouldn't go on induction ever again either. Actually I only did it about a week and went right to OWL.

I lost about 15 lbs AFTER I stopped counting or paying much attention to it at all.

Susan, Why don't you check into endometrial ablation and get rid of the lining? Pred is an awful med.

Larry is doing fine. His path report results were excellent. No spread beyond the gland what so ever.

Hope that chiropractor really helps your DH.

Shawnee, I so enjoyed looking at those two fur babies. Wanted to just hug them.

Barb, hope you have a wonderful time in that Hut. Don't get caught in an avalanche.

Back later.

Hmmm wonder if you can just copy the birth certificate and go to the bank and get it notarized? Chucks suggestion but what does he know. He said sometimes they don't even give you the original.

Linda, after much consideration and Chuck encouraging me, I'm going to forget counting anything. You're so right, I know what I can and cannot eat.

Shawnee, those were great pics of theSKGKiddies. I forgot to say that earlier. Did you take them? You caught some good ones.

Good for you Julie. Relax and things will just happen...if you eat correctly.

No, you need the official government seal on that birth certificate. You can't just get a copy. It's not acceptable to any government agency for passport or social security benefits.
I went to our county clerks office and they made a copy on that special paper and used the official seal.

OK, I'm going to go to our SS office whenever I get my car back again! Speaking of, they just called and said they can fix it for $2700. Of course they want to replace all these things and Chuck told them to put it back together and he'll pick it up. He can get a transmission at the wrecking yard and replace it himself for about $1,000. They want to replace things that aren't even broke!! Damn mechanics. Chuck is too wise to fall for anything. The guy is checking to see if they can just replace the part that needs to be replaced but haven't heard back from him yet.

Hi to all

Roger I found the Reports right where you said they would be. There were a lot of them. Hope that snow melts off quickly and you get some spring weather. WE reached the 60s today but I was chilled with the wind.

Julie that is a lot for the repairs on that more or less new car. Can you get another opinion or just let Chuck fix as you suggested. Talking about prices Well, Sears came yesterday to give us an estimate on vinly siding. We have a small 2 bedroom house mind you, single story. $18,000 for siding. Are they kidding? My DS paid about $5500 for his siding on his new home. We do have a estimate for $6500 from another sider and will probably go withit.
Wonder why Sears was so far out of line? Don't worry so much about your food. If you can maintain at 119 or 120, be happy. That is a nice weight. Just ask me!!!!!

Susun glad to hear that your DH is getting upbeat and anxious to get to a local chiropracter. Where there is hope _____ Go for it. Too bad that progesterone is making you have PMS. That is a large dose of it. Wonder if LInda's alternative suggestion would work for you? You could mention it to your gyne.

Shawnee the pups were beautiful. Thanks for the slide show. Reminds me of the "lion and the lamb" Burke sure seems to be tolerant of Little Britches. Cute, cute.

Thanks Ginny, I am enjoying the flat bread cheese sandwich I have been having. I use about 1/3rd of the flat bread and fry it up like a grilled cheese, Good stuff. How do you eat yours? and how often.

Gotta go for now.

Hi Y'all
Another gorgeous day here, and we are lovin' it...but 5 wildfires so far within 50 mi of us...Talk of summer water rationing and skyrocketing Power bills
Rains start Monday, none too soon.

Kaci and I got in our much needed "Gal" time together...lunch and shopping. Just a few hours with her gives me my fix...until I get needy again

Glad Y'all enjoyed the PupPics...we are awed by the gentle, loving bond between those FurKids.

Julie, Kaci is the family photo gal; she does get great shots.
GAWD, those mechanics can be intimidating (when they have your auto "captured")...
Bob is like Chuck, he'll do it himself if possible.
Julie, I read all I could, bought books, did web research, etc..on LCing. I was just coming out of a bad 2 year depression (re DD), and was not about to set myself for failure by starting a strict LC plan that I might fail at, and get depressed over. (the repeat -repeat-repeat Inductors *whining* scared me off) I simply eased myself into LCing. Sure, I've had times I wanted non_LC and have indulged, but try to keep it at a minimum. I cook high carb stuff for Bob, its a challenge.. But I decided I'd better figure out how to cook/bake/substitute the LC way. I'm far from perfect....but do not obsess over ANY kinds of counts. I weigh a few more lbs in winter than in summer, but that's ok...as long as I can get my pants buttoned
HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF, Gal...you know your weaknesses and strengths: if night eating is a problem, accept it and be prepared with "real" LC foods you love.
(end of sermon)

Zip...LOL...the Chuckster has NO use for the Pups, and quietly disappears when they visit. He tolerated ShawnPup (while she adored him !)...so there will be no pics with him in the group.
He's loving this sun, sprawls on the deck stretched full length with belly exposed to the rays.

Bob and I have Hospital Birth Certificates...the SS accepted his...(it was issued fron the hospital 2 blocks away from the SS Office, ironically)
Aside: my birth town was washed away in a flood in '48...when I tell someone where I was born, they have never heard of it. The land is currently occupied by Portland Meadows Horseracing.

Barb, you are probably out trudging thru the snow by now. Hope its a glorious experience, and I admire your courage.

Loretta, still no Daffys blooming for me...keeping an eye on the neighbors', they get more sun and are trying to open. I checked my Hostas, they are up about 1/2". Remember the three varigated H. pots I've posted pics of for years? I gave Kaci the top pot plants, so this year it will contain a Blue hosta. A friend gave me a start 5-6 years back, man has it multiplied.

SuSUN, if Placebo feels good, well...why not?
Give those Pups a hug from me.

Hey to busy Ginny, and passing out the hugs for your FurKids too.
Guess you are looking forward to the end of this Friday shift!

Montana, YAHOO on Larry's results. Times like these, sure puts Life's values in perspective.
Ha, we had our Speakerphone over a year before we used that feature...forgot about it actually.

To ALL, have a safe and sane weekend...or just have fun!

Thanks Loretta and Shawnee for you words of wisdom. I never did do induction either. I tried once and said to hell with that. You guy's have made me feel better.

Final report on the car. They came back and compromised. It had already cost $300 for them to tear it apart to see what was wrong so they said they'd just fix the part and and put it together again for $1500. Guess we'll go that way.

Ok we are off to go out to dinner and relax!!!!!!!!!!

Julie,

Google your birthstate and Birth Certificate, for example WASHINGTON BIRTH CERTIFICATE....you'll see what you have to do...probABLY THROUGH Olympia.
Pennsy said either by mail or by internet. By mail would take a week longer and I'd have to send something with a photo ID. Internet was just the credit card and an extra $7, the credit card number was proof of who I was. So $27 will get me two official copies stamped with the State Seal in 7 -14 days.

Linda, Thanks for snooping and let me know what you find out. We probably want 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths A BASEMENT (NOTHING on a slab) and a garage...nothing much more than that, an acre would be nice, but 1/2 acre would let megrow some tomatoes and roses.

Loretta,
YOI on the $18 grand aluminum siding...for that price I'd expect CARRARA MARBLE!

Julie, glad your repair bill won't be quite as bad as you first thought. Those mechanics are bandits if we let them get away with chit.

Yeah, ditch the induction. It's not fun at all.

Loretta,
Sears is always out of line with their prices. B@stards!!! You can always do better with a local contractor or even Lowe's or Home Depot. Hope you can get it done soon and reasonable.

Shawnee,Wildfires already Oh Dear LORD!!! Hope you all get lots of spring snow and rain.
I'll never forget the awful flames and smoke we saw in Columbia Falls, MT. several years ago during a bad fire season. <shudder>

So happy you and Kaci got some much needed gal time.
Poor Chuckster, guess he wants all of your attention and not share it with the pups.

Roger, a whole acre??? You don't even want to think about living in the city. Most lots are only 50' x 150' or maybe double if one is lucky. Just outside of town, the lots are much bigger and you are still close enough to shopping.

Humm, if you do move, you will need to think of a snow blower and lawn tractor. You sure as heck don't want to mow or shovel by hand.

Hope you got the sites I sent and are getting an idea of the property prices and taxes here.
Come on up for a look see. You still have an open invitation and a place to stay.

Ginny, are you feeling any better?
