Hey gang,
After another two or three inches of snow last night the sun decided to shine. FINALLY!! I'm headed out to enjoy it soon. Larry sees his doctor tomorrow and should be able to drive home if there are no "leaks" and the cath is removed. Keep your fingers crossed. Shawnee, there are several faults around NYC and in the Adirondacks. Sometimes tremors can be felt in this area. Geologists say there could be a very bad one here sometime. Have heard about the citrus oils but haven't tried it. Yeah they do smell pretty darn good. Roger, hope you don't have to stand in line all day at the SS office. Ours always looks like a cattle car. Susan, it's good to learn that you will seriously cut back those work hrs. Just tighten the purse strings. We can all manage quite well on a bit less money. Loretta, how nice of you and DH to mail that money to his kids. Gives a much better feeling than a new boat, eh? Julie, so are the grand kids still there? What did you and Jana end up buying? Barb, when do you go on your snowshoeing expedition? Ginny, how's work going? Waving to everyone else. Heard there is another NASTY computer virus out there and will go find out about it. Guess I'll not open forward or attachments. Unfortunately I've been a bit careless but don't need to screw up this machine again. Last edited by LoveMontana : 02-23-2005 at 10:35 AM. |

Hi Linda and all,
I called SS and made an appointment...earliest I could get was March 9. I INSTEAD went to the Motor Vehicle Office because NJ is digitizing everyone. I have found out that the stupidest things on the planet are workers for MV: people who flip burgers seem almost Post Graduate Scholars in comparison...how these people find there way to WORK amazes me. I must go back because my old passport was stamped CANCELLED instead of EXPIRED...they take 3 year expired passports...I have no clue how these 2 words differ. Not a surprise because I found out YEARS ago that I CANNOT have a first inital and last name in NJ because their form says FIRST NAME, Middle initial! For some reason my birth certificate came from the BUREAU OF CENSUS, DEPARTMENT OF THE U.S. TREASURY instead of from Harrisburg...God only KNOWS what that means, but it wasn't good enough for the maroooons at the MV. At least I avoided the wait...at least 200 people! I think in all those movies where the Gestapo and the KGB asked to see "your papers", things were much less complicated. Net morning: a PATH train ride to Journal Square and a ride home...I now better understand the concept of Existential Absurdity! Thanks for the poop on Endicott...Bob found a cheap house ( the last on the planet) but it sounds like a dull place to live. Best wishes for Larry tomorrow. To all a good day!

Hey all,
I hab a code. Will someone please just put me out of my misery? I so very seldom catch anything that I'm miserable when I do. At least it's not the stomache thingy that they all had, just the cold part. Whine. Hope all are content today. I'm off to lurk and feel sorry for myself. |

Well gee, whats up with everyone today?
Ginny so sorry you caught a code! Zip, hmmm on those papers and all the the other sh*t. No compete people working anymore, just us who don't!! Linda, those puter viruses scare me to death. I haven't opened an attachment for months. Just a pic from DD and I asked her if she sent it first. Can't be too careful these days. Tell me if you find anything out. What a day so far. First my car's transmission is acting very strange. Had to run it over and have them check it out. So down to 1 truck. The one with 8 miles a gallon!! First off had to run Nick to his monthly meet with Corrections officer in next town, drop car off to have it checked out and get him back to school. Then come home and get Jana and get her to the ferry. Had 20 minutes so stopped at the store for salad makings and some apples. Then pick up Madison at daycare 25 min. away....and take her to Pre K. Thank God her other gramma will pick her up later this afternoon. Then in an hour go pick up Nick from school. PLUS Chuck has come down with the flu! Headache, achey all over and nauseated. Threw up Coke. We are finally DGKid free now!! The past 4 days has been a nightmare but fun! Does that make sense? Sure enjoyed Jana and she helped out with the younger ones. So hopefully I'll get some peace and quiet tomorrow. Sure hate being down to 1 vehicle but maybe it will be some little thing...right!! No warranty anymore! See ya later when I collapse.. ![]()

HI to all
Sorry about that code Ginny. Just hang in there for 7 days and it should be gone. Guess you can get some relief from those cold products but most of them just keep me awake at night. Good news for Larry. I hope he gets to come back home soon. How far of a drive is that for them? It did feel good to mail that suprise to the kids. We will see what they have to say. It will take a few days. Too bad about that snow. When will it end for you? In May"?? Do you use those cooking bags a lot. They seem to speed up the cooking process. I am going to try a pork shoulder roast in one tomorrow. WOW Roger on all that hastle to get the pass for the transit system. Wonder who thinks up all of those regulations. It has to be precise. Glad you got your appointment for the SS. You will get 2 months check the first time. I forget how long it took to get it. But they have been rolling in ever since 2002 for me. Susun that is some good news for DH. At least he can try to get some relief in the mean time instead of just waiting for that neuro appointment. Good for you, 6 months to retirement. The age in Canada must be a tad younger than for us here. That time will go by so fast. Shawnee I did see another sprout in the tulip pot today. I felt that I still have hope. I guess we are going to get some rain from Ca soon. Something is heading our way. Tomorrow there is some sleet in the forecast. I will be worrying because Leah has to go to get her tubes in and I am taking Brittany to HS. The others are leaving really early, like 6 am. Julie hope that DGD of yours and you are having a blast. HI to our lurkers and other MVMs out there. I tried somthing new for the mashed cauliflower. On the mayo jar there was a recipe for just mashed cauliflower, garlic, S & P and some mayo. The sample I tried tasted pretty good. Loretta Last edited by Loretta V : 02-23-2005 at 02:20 PM. |

LOL Roger, DMV Are the most stupid sh*ts on the planet. At least in NYS we don't need to deal with them too much, except when we register a new car. Fortunately most dealers do that for you now. Now our drivers licenses are good for 8 years
Passports are taken care of in the Federal post office here in town. Can you contact Harrisburg city clerk and get a stamped, official copy of your birth certificate? I found I have two with the official seal. Got one in our county office of vital statistics many years ago when I got my first passport. Called SS 800 number today to find out what I need if I file on line, telephone or in person. They said the birth certificate is mailed in no matter how we file, so I will do it on line. It seems the easiest. Send me the information on the location of the house and I'll let you know how the neighborhood is. I can drive there in about 20 minutes. Aww Ginny, sorry about that darn cold. Feel better soon. Everyone around here is coughing, sniffling and blowing their noses so I'm being a virtual hermit. Walked in to Wally world the other day and ran screaming for the car after hearing all the coughs in there. Julie, OMG you are far too busy and stressed and now have the FLU to look forward to. Wash your hands frequently, don't TOUCH your face and wear a mask. You don't need that stomach bug.Haven't had a chance yet to check on the latest computer virus but I heard it on the news several times today. Later I'll go nose around on the computer sites and find out something. I just won't open a darn thing anymore. If someone's e mail address got contaminated, we are all up Sh*ts creek. Loretta, Tulips sprouting WOW!! We still have many inches of snow on the ground and more to come tonight. I use the oven bags frequently since they are so easy and there is minimal clean up. LOVE them. DH doesn't like some things done in them because he says they come out "mushy" LOL I call it tender. SS lady told me that I will receive my first check in Aug. after the one month wait. We shall see. Larry goes to see the doctor tomorrow morning, has some dye injected for a scan and then, if all looks good, the cath will come out and he will head home. It's only about a 4 hr drive, give or take. Susan, hope your DH's mind is a bit more at ease since he saw the chiro. Let's hope that goy was right on the money with his DX Were is everyone else? Just got back from getting Nick and not use to coming in the front door and guess what??? I have a Rhrodi blooming!!! My oh my it's so darn early!!!
Linda, I sure don't like the idea you have to send in your Birth Certificate! The mail is not that secure or reliable. I heard that about the viruses too. It did say to be sure and not click on any attachments of site in the email message. Well I never do that anyway. |

Julie, I don't like it either but we had to send them in for our passports too. What you should do is get a duplicate with the official seal on it, just in case.

Hi Gang,
Just checking in again, late I know. I had a leisurely day off, nearly all to myself. DD came over with Ella at 3p.m. to get out for a couple of hours before her DH gets home 6:30p.m. It was good to see her and Ella again. Did I tell you guys Ella just got her first tooth on Monday! I have a full day at the office tomorrow! Loretta, I don't retire in 6 months, I was contemplating taking off 6 months to have the summer months with DD and Ella. Still figuring it all out. No we dont get SS until 60 yrs up here for women, 65 for men. I have just less than 4 years to go. (46 months to go...but who's counting?) Roger, Loved the comments linked to the the Gestapo movies...papers! I think they had a section called the SS too! LOL! Our governments are so officious these days!Hope Linda checks that neighbourhood out for you! and you can buy your piece of paradise!Linda, Great news on Larry hope the cath will be removed and all will go smoothly for him tomorrow. We had similar weather up here, a few inches, then a few more, so lots back down again. Yes, I will have to figure out how to tighten those purse strings. My cousin in England retired 2 years ago and she says, "You have to, Cut your garment according to your Cloth." I am still trying to figure out how to purchase a small place in the SUN too! Shawnee, Thanks for clarifying...what is wrong with me these days! I guess we all go thru a transition period when a new family member comes along. or is that just with the first? LOL!Is there no PUP places where you could go for a lick and a tail-cuddle? Call Kaci to go on a dog walk together! Ginny, Sheesh! on that cold, are you still managing to go to work with it. TLC is in order, cut back on everything so as to put all your energies into recovery. Julie, Lucky you with the Rhodi blooming! green with envy! LOL!Whew! your chauffeuring is finally over, no wonder your transmission has gone on strike! Nite, Nite! SuSUN ![]() |

LOL SuSun, no, chauffeuring is only over for the day!! Friday, no school or pre school so will be a blessing.
Linda, I got a notice today that the new virus was an FBI fake email. Of course that could be a fake too. I certainly didn't forward it on or open anything in that email telling about it and places to checki it out. No,no,no....... Norton just ran and so far so good!!! |

Hi y'all
Yup, its true! Hit SEVENTY here today...temp records falling all over the place. Nice but scarey. Nights are still below freezing. Damn Viruses, hackers...GRRRR ! The one most mentioned re our News is the FBI one. Also a Cell phone one. Kaci had told me to take the Addresses out of my Yahoo Address Book, so I made a copy and deleted them... typing in Addys for Email is slower, but its a safety factor against highjacked addresses. I baked a 6 lb turkey breast today, with a pop-up timer. The Pop-up lied, according to my Temp-probe. The Chuckster got really interested when the fragrance filled the kitchen. ![]() SuSUN, Congrats on Ella's FIRST tooth...does she like to show it off? Good advice: "You have to, Cut your garment according to your Cloth." ...like a Reality Check ![]() Hope your DH continues to feel better. Julie...poor Chuck...and for your sake, I hope he isn't as spoiled when sick as Bob is ![]() Fingers crossed for ya the tranny just needs adjustments, minor part.. Cool, on the blooming Rhodie...none for me yet. Maybe a pic to refresh my memory? Ginny, baby thyself as much as possible. Healing to ya.(DO NOT breathe on me as I hug ya tho!) ...sending ya a virtual Hot Toddy.Shoot, gotta go..maybe be back later Shawnee |
