HI Zip and those that follow

We have sunshine but cool temps with lots of wind, making it chilling to say the least.
Had to go and babysit Leah last evening while my DIL had to go in for surgery, she was on call. They had a bronch to do and then there was an accident and she had to stay for that also. Had to wait for DS to get back from work. Leah is having those tubes put in her ears today. Hoping all goes well.

Ginny I finally got around to the flat bread. I used 1/3 of the piece and fixed myself some grilled cheese using string cheese and olive oil to fry it in the pan with. Pretty good too. Thanks for that suggestion.

Linda glad to hear that Larry is doing well. Hope he produces today so he can get out of that hospital. Sorry your weather is still so wintery. Hope you can get that plumbing problem fixed.

Julie do you walk BO or does he just go out by himself? Just wondering how he got that worm. When is the competion for Jana, I was thinking it was today for some reason.

Barb I have just recently started shredding. Why do I not worry about disposing of the papers though? I just add them to the rest of my garbage pile. We take our own garbage to dumpsters monitored by the county. When they are not open the dump is locked up. Someone is always in attendance. Wonder how many little kitties are in there? We had a hampster once that gave birth and she ate some of the critters. It was messy and smelly.

Shawnee do you have any problem getting that mower to start or is it manual? I prefer a push mower self propelled but always had a heck of a time getting it to start. The same with the weed eater. Yes I have not seen DH so fired up for a long time. It must be those cigars. Now he is onto them about 3 times a week. Fine with me.

SuSUN how is your Dh doing with his leg problem. Has the prednisone helped him at all? When will he see the neuro man?

Back later

Good Friday to y'all!

Had a lil' sleep in this morning, feeling good! Bright and sunny out with a few more inches of the white...looks pretty out the window!

Going over to DD's around 2ish for an afternoon visit. She gets her hair done every week around 3:30p.m. for a treat. They will be going out for dinner again, so babysitting till about 9:30 - 10ish. Ella really is a pleasure to take care of.

Thank you for the encouragement on the big "R." I am contemplating ways of making sealing wax....and all that! The more I consider my options the closer I will come to a solution.

Shawnee,
I too shred and add wet scraps to the more personal stuff, it tends to wash the ink away too! So they can try to put that together, kinda messy and smelly for them too!

Julie,
Do gives us some reports and or pics on Jana's special day!
Yikes on Bo and the tapeworm saga!

Linda,
Great stuff re Larry's progress. I am sure they have given him Colace. Chopped dried Prunes and Apricots are a good too, along with psyllium of course, lots of fluids too, which I am sure you already know.
Spagetti sauce works on some folks as it tends to be acidic and wash down the colon. He can use the licopene from the tomatoes too!

Loretta,
Sounds like ya had quite the evening with all the Sx going on. Glad you can help out sitting Leah for them. I guess it makes us feel useful eh? Wishing her well with the tube insertion.
That "pizza" sounds like it turned out well for you!
DH's legs are still the same weakness but he manages to get around but has frequent rests. He is adjusting to his loss of mobility and loss of strength. The neurologist appt is March 21st so coming up soon. Thanks for asking.

Barb,
Glad to see you are back to normal!
Awwh, enjoy those kitties.

Roger,
Enjoy your fried lice! LOL!

Later,

SuSUN

Still sitting here at this da%m computer at 10:00!! Slept in and didn't get up till 8:30. Boy it felt good. Sunny and cool again today and no rain in the forcast for a week. Oops, Chuck is coming back home from the store and he'll see me still sitting here at the puter in my jammies! Da%n.

Zip, chinese is my favorite but nothing much on the menu for us LCarbers. Sometimes I can get steamed vegi's and chicken or shrimp but it tastes awful.

Loretta, yes we always walk Bo unless he is in our fenced backyard. He didn't eat his dinner last night and wonder if that pill to kill them buggers upset his tummy. He'll eat when he's hungry.

Jana is competing tonight. Nick and his gf are going to go to Tacoma with us. Not sure I'll have a chance to get pics at so far away but if I can see her up close, I'll get a pic, ok? Thanks for asking.
How's dh strength today after all that putzing around?

SuSun, sounds like DD is still keeping you busy!! Hmmm maybe retirement isn't a good idea. But taking care of Leah is much more fun, huh?

Ok, getting the evil eye so am off to get dressed.....

Hi Y'all

Blessed with another sunny, nippy day
Lawns still soppy from frost last night, but hoping at least the front one will be dry enough to mow this afternoon.

Zip, Chinese has always been one of my faves...probably cause of all those lucious great-tasting carbs. Enjoy your Linner for all of rest of us too. I mostly have to stick to homemade Stir fries.

Oh, Loretta... that all goes well with lil Leah's Sx...poor lil gal, sure hoping this fix gives major relief for her ear infections.

Now don't you laugh re how I start my fav old mower (20+ years; we have a rider, a self-propelled...and my fav old push-it)

I sit it out in the SUN for 1/2 hr to warm it up before I pull the rope. I also talk to it...his name is Ol Red
(NOT cuss words, Montana!) ;p

...
Ol Red and I have a good relationship, whereas Bob loves the self-mover...and we are both are kinda neutral-feeling bout the rider, its just a utility machine without much personality, tho I have been known to pat its fender for its faithfulness.

Julie, Enjoy your night with family, and cheering on your DGD
You know we will appreciate ANY pic you get of her.
Poor Bo, those tapeworm meds are harsh, and its not uncommon for a pup to feel a bit of nausea or upset tummy. Hope he's back on course soon.

SuSUN, you've been holding out on us! What's this about Sealing Wax??? Inquiring minds.....
We couldn't get enough of our first GChild either (well, Bob was waaay more into it than I was, but he didn't do the "dirty work")
So enjoy yourself with Ella.

To all following later, have a good one.

Shawnee

HI BARB....its good for a woman's psyche to do "not much" when necessary

Loretta, forgot to tell you my DS1 had ear tubes put in 4x! They usually work themselves out in about a year. He had to have fitted ear plugs so he could swim. had them until agae 12. Old for this problem but his estachine (sp?) were small.

Freezing cold here again, darn it Last night we had a really freak storm pass through causing over 100 accidents in town and on the two interstates. Nasty stuff.

Spent the afternoon helping my son repair some pipes under my daughter's kitchen sink. What a mess but it's finally fixed.

Larry is out of the hospital and will hang around his sister in law's house in Sterling, VA. until next Thurs. when he sees the doctor again to have the catheter removed. Then he can come home.

Roger, LOVE Chinese too and have had it a time or two since low carbing. Hope you had some that was excellent.

Loretta, hope little Leah is well on the way to recovery tonight. Poor little thing. Let us know how she is doing.

Susan, wishing your DH the best. Boy that's such a long time to wait for an appointment. Hope they can call him sooner. Is he on a cancellation list?

Julie, hope the competition went well and you got some pictures. We are all anxiously awaiting a full report.

Hi Barb, LOL I don't have a clue as to why men don't laze around like we do. My DH lives in sweats though so it's the same thing, sort of.

Shawnee,
No CUSS words??? Humm, if it starts without them I guess it's OK. Funny how you prefer the ol push mower over something you can ride on. DH has still not fixed our rider and uses the push. NOT ME.

Hi to Jackie. Pop in when you get a chance.

OMG, it is VERY important to have a good relationship with the mower -- mine has a birthday tomorrow!!

We had planned a trip with some friends and dinner and now it's going to rain all weekend. By golly, I'm going anyway!!

Linda, I'm happy for you that Larry is doing well. He'll be home in no time.

Julie, how did the competition go?

I always liked Chinese also but the sodium kills me. I just do stir-fry here at home.

You people in the NW should NOT start mowing because it will make the rest of us feel as if we have winter!!

Made a cheesecake for Birthday Get-Together tomorrow -- wish we had some fresh berries (have to use frozen) to put over the top.

Good night....... Barb

Speaking of mowing the lawn..Barb I'm sorry but Chuck has already mowed ours and my roses are leafing out like crazy. It is spring like here but has been cold at night. He doesn't let me mow as he likes it just so.....ok with me!

Jana didn't do so great tonight. She has to have her ankle wrapped from the sprain last Dec. and whoever did it wrapped it wrong and she had a tough time running for the vault. She was so upset and I felt so sorry for her. Unfortunatly she only got a 8.0. Not good!!! One little thing and all your hard work down the tube.
No pic either as they don't allow flash camera's! I had forgotten that.

Barb, sorry about the rain ruining your weekend. Are you going stir crazy??

Linda, bundle up sweetie!!!

Shawnee, I about fell out of my chair laughing when you wrote..

"I sit it out in the SUN for 1/2 hr to warm it up before I pull the rope" Give Ol Red a hug for me!!

Bo finally ate his dinner tonight at 11:30 so guess he is back to normal. Sure didn't like that pill crap!!!

Off to finish my email....getting late.

Hi Y'all

Doing a late check in, had hoped maybe Loretta posted something about Leah's condition. Maybe we'll get an update tomorrow....

And Thanks Montana, for the DB update....he must be a happy camper to be an Outpatient ....but am also sure he'll be thrilled to have that cath out too.
Wow, your weather sounds wicked!

Aw, Julie...Poor Jana, what a crummy break for her. Hopefully she will overcome this setback and keep on truckin'...after the disappointment fades. Too bad about the pics, but she looked so pretty!

Barb, tell your "mower" and enjoy his Cheesecake.

I looked at some fresh strawberries, $2.50 for a small carton...most had rotten, bruised spots.

Julie, I'm fussy like Chuck....I do the lawns around the house, Bob does the far Outback on the rider. His idea of mowing is kinda like haying: just get it cut, no finesse involved.

Oh, Montana...about the reason I prefer the Ol Red. A friend and I were just discussing this today (we both have that commonality of "Green Genes,' peasant-planter mentality....the "honest sweat" thingy and feelings of accomplishment needed)
Example:
Last night I exercised in front of the boob tube. Satisfactory, but not satisfying. Just another chore.
Today, I spent over an hour in the great outdoors getting good resistance exercise via Ol Red, and got my "reward" of mowed yards to boot....
My former "strong as an ox" Bob has a hard time coping with his disabilites, and insists on doing the far backyard on the rider...in 10 minute increments. (rest/mow/rest) Its hard on him, but he needs the satisfaction of accomplishment too. Tonight we're both pooped but satisfied.

Julie, I still don't have ALL my roses pruned! Have about 75, and only 1/3 (or less) done. Oh, well...
I have a Gift Certificate for Fred Meyers...will probably use it for plants/flowers. (more stuff to take care of...or neglect)

Glad Bo is back to eating...My DD was a vet tech and told me how those pills work to kill the worms; far from pleasant...

OH! Your DGS wasn't OLD at 12 for the ear tubes....I had them implanted at 45! Removed at 47. (I hated them)

Ginny, hope you and Steve and Pups have a super weekend.
