MVM WEDNESDAY

Good morning gang.

We watched a good library DVD last night called DYING TO BE THIN, a study of anorexia and bulemia narrated by Susan Sarandon. Interesting NOVA production, even MORE interesting disease process.

Barb,
How's the cold? Have some hot chicken soup if you cann find someone to make it for you...THAT's the hard part!

Susun,
Enjoy your nice long weekend.

Still warm today (52) but rain this afternoon will usher in a cold front for the weekend.

Quiet day at home...having LOTS of them but when Spring breaks I get the urge to do more.

Later.

Mornin' gang,

Cold front rolling in here too, 33 for tonight's low I was getting used to the warmer stuff! Tomorrow night is supposed to hit 27. Oh well, the warm stuff is getting more frequent, come on spring! I have daylilies coming up, some are about 6" tall now! I can't count on the tulips as the moles love to munch on them!

Linda, best wishes to your DB re SX. Hope he has minimal recovery time and is back to normal soon!

Zip, so how much tilapia is a good serving for 1? My MIL really liked that fish and would get it when on sale frequently. Never had it, but then I'm not much of a fish eater....

Susan, yes, the guy that was attacking women turned himself in. Was an 18 yr old kid! Sheesh, crazy stuff. I'm just glad he's off the streets. And the last one, a girl claiming to have been attacked outside Chili's restaurant, recanted--she MADE IT UP for the attention! They're pressing charges on her too.

Barb, hope you feel better soon! Colds aren't any fun, even for us without breathing issues.

Julie, musta been busy yesterday, huh? Slow down and smell whatever's blooming LOL

Loretta, your DH must REALLY Have the fishing bug Hope all goes well and you have the boat on Friday! You know he'll be itchin' to be out in it soon.

Shawnee, reckon we can trade off as designated drivers? Tulips are looking good, will be intersting to see how well they bloom this time, will you need to separate them after bloom is done? Supposed to clear off today here....but then cold. Greenhouse will appreciate the sunshine, and our propane co. will appreciate the heaters running

Well, off to lurk for a bit, then get my butt in gear for the day......

Brrrrrr. Woke to thunder and SNOW!! We are under a winter storm warning or something until late this afternoon.

No news from Baltimore yet so I'll hang out close to the phone except for a brief trip to let Dakota out.

Roger, we all have cabin fever this time of the year, but in about 6 weeks spring will be here.

Ginny, YIKES! that's some temperature variation.
All this talk of flowers blooming has me thinking again of maybe, just maybe planting something out there.

Hi to all. I NEED more coffee.

Ginny,
A healthy sized serving of boneless, skinless fillets like tilapia is 1/2 pound- 8 ounces. If it's yummy, I always want more so .6 pounds is PERFECT.
Government says 3 or 4 ounces...yeah for a toothless INFANT!
Of course when I want to ORDER "point six" pounds, my inevitable response is "You want 6 POUNDS?" I guess grade school is different from when I went!
For the two of us I order "a little over a pound...and they give me 1.75...YOI.
One guy is good, for him I say a pound and a quarter he gets it dead on!

Barb,
I forgot. Of course "up the river" is up the Hudson to Sing-Sing (now Ossining!)

Linda...geez, SNOW??? Like you said, what a difference a hundred miles makes. Or in some circles even a couple INCHES!: Good luck to Larry...he must be scared SPITLESS!

Vacuumed and scrubbed, paid some bills, and filled out some VA nonsense....nice to have company... Bob's washing the colored laundry!

Good Wednesday to MVMs,

I had a leisurely sleep in today, got up earlier to let Oliver out then I climbed back into bed till 10:30a.m.

I have just had a soak in the tub, washed my hair and feel a new gal cuz no work today.

The snowplough has just passed so the driveway has the "ridge" at the end.

Thinking of visiting DD and Ella hopefully we can get out for a walk. I feel 3p.m. might be a bit late for her. I am running behind but needed it.

Linda,
Hope all went well for Larry this morning! I am sure he is resting comfortably now. I am sure they will keep the meds coming.

Gotta run and get my butt over to DD's or the whole day will be shot just lazing around!

Later,
SuSUN

Morning from cool but beautifully sunny Pacific Northwest!! I love this weather. Chuck and I just returned from a 50 minute walk. Gorgeous out there. It felt good to walk and not be in knee pain. Just not going down any hills and thats hard around this town. We looked over at the Olympic Mts. and it's so sad. There is hardly any snow up there. Looks like it usually does in the summer. There are covered clear down as far as you see normally. We will be in big time trouble come summer.

Linda, keeping Larry in our thoughts and prayers.
Send snow, send snow, send snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ginny, yesterday I just didn't feel much like posting. I'm now doing the SLIM INTO SPRING Challenge on the GY and doing a lot of surfing for that. Had quite a bit of Taxiing around too. Almost a full time job.

Roger, never had or heard of tilapia until a about 6 months ago. Isn't it funny how all of a sudden new fish come into the market? Is it mild like cod?

SuSun, can you send some of that snow to our Mts. please!!
Nice to have days like you're having. Enjoy...

Off to the mall to find a pair of jeans. Remember the last time I went through this? Hope it doesn't take weeks again. Then I'm stopping at the grocery store for top round roast @ $1.99 a lb.

Thanks for the well wishes. Debbie just called my mom and Larry is out of surgery and in his room. He is doing well. Unfortunately her cell phone broke up so she will call from the hotel later.

Julie, Wow those mountains look so bare. Hope you get several really good spring blizzards or your area will be in some big trouble.

Gotta run.

Hi Y'all

Almost Springlike here today...a bit too crisp/breezy for me to spend much time outside, but still the SUN was refreshing.

Montana, continuing Good Thoughts for Larry...hope the worst is over now, and Recovery goes very well.
Lordy, Snow & Thunder together??? There's a weather tech term for that combo, but it evades me...
Hope all's well on the home fromt. Send us some of that excess snow.

Zip, hope y'all get an early Spring, so you'll feel like jumping back into the mainstream with both feet.
So, how was the fish? We like it fairly well, much milder than the usual salmon here.
Love Susan Sarandon, she is elegantly tough.

Julie, great pic of those Mts. Yeah, we are gonna be in trouble big time if the Storm Gods aren't appeased, and throw some snow our way.
How's the All Protein thing going?
Find the right jeans?

Loretta, are you busy, being DH's Go-fer Gal re lawnmower parts?
Bet he's really getting excited, Friday is soooo close!
OH, maybe your Tulips are just naturally later than mine. There's Early, Mid, and Late varieties.

Hey Barb, hope your meds are kickin' in...and you're soon back to kickin' butt!

YAHOO for you SuSUN....learning the finer points of enjoying yourself and relaxing.

Sure, Ginny...I'll drive
Girl, I have spent 3 hours each night, Mon and Tues...wallowing in my O/C addiction of Pup watching (the Westminster Dog Show).
Not too much in this world can hold my attention that long, but ...Pups..well

Seems the world is full of people seeking (negative) attention...

About the tulips...well, mine are cheap hybrids, only good for about 2 years...then ready for a hole out back along the fenceline, or maybe the compost pile. I hear there's a new hybrid that gives about 5 years of service.
The oldfashioned species tulips were great for naturalizing, spreading and making babies.

Hey to Jacki...

Shawnee, that all protein stinks! I can't do it. I don't know how these other people do it but this gal just can't. Not sure whats on the agenda for tomorrows eats. Just watching how much I eat is probably best.

Yes, I did find a pair of jeans at Macy's. Now it's just Macy's as they've dropped the Bon name. Boohoo...I loved the Bon. I can still call it that. Nobody can stop me from calling it that can they?

Linda, so glad Larry came through the surgery ok.

Hi Gang!

Checking in again!

Had a lovely day off. DD picked me up and we went to the Mall for a couple of hours. Ella was as good as gold. She is such a smiler.

I got home around 9p.m. so prepared my stuff for work and ready to settle down for an hours tv before bed.

Linda,
Glad to hear all went well with Larry.

Till Tomorrow,

SuSUN

I'm with you on the "only Protein" thing...more power to those who can...(I guess)... but I prefer the "healthy" way with veggies, etc too. Different strokes...
I've always noticed that when we eat a lot of protein, it sure knocks out the appetite. Even Bob, who used to be a big volume eater, no longer wants much food when we protein up.

LOL, about the Bon...call it whatever ya like!
Last year, Jacki had to TELL ME that ours had been changed to Bon Macy from Bon Marche...hell, I never look UP to read the sign...for all I know, it could just be a Macy's now....but its been BON for 40 years to me.
Anyhoo, glad ya got the jeans.
I have 4 pair of their black STYLE jeans...they have great $sales, sometimes cheaper than Wally's.

HI SuSUN...glad your day with Dd and the smiling charmer went so well!
