MVM SUNDAY

Good morning kiddies,

Well the price tag (actually on a page carried by the head clerk) on the necklace was $6,000,000 and that DIDN'T include the matching ring (very pretty) and earrings (breathtaking).
Oh well, let's all buy out Lottery tickets for Tuesday's $111 Million Mega Ball Game. I can wear the rubies to the gym.

Today a friend had to be away and so she gave us her two tickets for the NEW YORK CITY BALLET this afternoon at Lincoln Center. We will do an Indian brunch buffet in the Village beforehand which is always very good. (All you can eat $9.95.) Breakfast will be coffee and a piece of rye toast so with any luck we can turn the brunch into a BERLINNER (breakfast-lunch and dinner.)

Big-time water retention (2-3 pounds) from cheese sauce TWICE yesterday (on my eggs and as a macaroni and cheese side dish.) But I will NOT touch the water pills. When my body stabilizes, I'll blow off the water...I must be PATIENT!

Carpe Diem (that means "the fish of the day")

p.s. Shawnee, you're going to have to explain to me how the "blinds" get anted. I know the big one is twice the small one, but I don't know who kicks in what in a private game.

Morning to all......

Sun is out here also and warming up -- the midwest is NOT and MN is still below zero. My DD says that she dresses in everything to walk to the bus stop, gets to the gym, goes to the locker room and takes off long underware, etc, dress in workout clothes, then dress back up again to head home. I can see where this would become old very quickly.

to beautiful little Leah!! I wonder if she'll remember getting those jewels. Maybe grandma gets to wear them until the prom!!

Beautiful picture Jackie, didn't know you were so shy!! How many days do you have to work at school - 5 ? We are now on the second semester of 4 day weeks and LOVE it. Probably won't last past this year, too many parents are agitating to have us babysit all week!!

SuSUN -- by the prairies you mean......... I think I'll have to get my Atlas out again and do some geography this weekend. I'm planning a trip to Maine next fall when my DD does a clinical up there - over there -- and it takes me into unexplored territory.

Zip, I can understand the retention on the cheese! If you ever visited a cheese factory (home town was in WI) and watch them pour all of that salt into this mixture...........

Waving to everyone else........ will get back later!

Relaxing day today, cleaning up, watching football, and reading, and exercising, whoops...... I said relaxing!

Good Morning Gang!

We still have blue skies, SUNny but COOL! I'll take that SUN!

We had another wonderful evening with Ella last night. DH is taking on more as she is getting bigger. 6 months now but still no teeth, she loves the cereal but not too keen on carrots, bananas, she had sweet potato and seemed to like that, sheesh! all the carbs...must be in the genes! Proteins come a little later, so we will see!

Shawnee,
What a gorgeous bouquet, love those delicate pink roses!
Did you buy a lottery ticket? Keep up that winning-streak!

Linda,
Yes, DH's dr gave him a script for Prednisone to bridge the gap waiting to see a neurologist...March 21st. He is on the cancellation list too. He takes 4 today as a loading dose and 2/D all this week, the 1/D after that. I only want him to take it for a short time, as I am concerned about his immune system s/e. Hope he sees a result soon!

Loretta,
Hope you had a wonderful First Birthday Party Celebration with LEAH! Lets see some pics!

Jacki,
Just love the new pics of yourself! How d'ya get your eyelashes so long and curled!
I cant imagine how you insert all those lovely pics into the BB. I have just figured out how to change my avatar!

Roger,
I'll write out a cheque prompto for that necklace...I'll have to write it on my other account...the Queen of England's! rolleyes:
The curry-buffet sounds heavenly, hope you enjoy the show.
We saw the Bourne Supremacy last weekend...I thought it was excellent, lots of action and a good story line.
We have "the Day after tomorrow," DSonIL gave it to us last night. He recommends the special effects. So, that is on the agenda for this evening, curled up in front of the fire light, gives it's own special effects! Our fav thing to do in our senior years!
Just warm and cozy.

Barb,
The Prairies are mid-Canada, like Manitoba, Saskatoon and Winnipeg were the coldest yesterday.
Where is your DD doing her clinical? Will you come up thru Ontario or Quebec? We been down to Maine several times and New Hampshire, we love the scenary!
Is PT a four year course? I think it is up here. I love physio I go regularly for my back and wrists. It sure beats taking pain meds.

Ginny,
So glad that Bub is continuing to improve. Keep that TLC a comin!
How's the OrKIDs doin in that steamy GH today? Is the Sun still shining?
Did ya see a sinlge chex cereal, that looked like ET brought $776.00 on eBay, yikes! I gotta get some stuff on there! Now let me check out the flax seed and pysllium! LOL!

Julie,
Where are you Gal? Bin missin ya! Check in soon

More chores today, its a day of rest...after the babysitting weekend.

Leah and her Daddy

Zip even that glorious prom gift (if I put it on lay away and she will be about 400 when she gets to prom) would not have made that little gal feel better yesterday. She slept most of the time we were there. Dad had to wake her up to open presents and have some cake, then back to bed. What a glorious neck bauble. Of couse what would it be with out the earrings and ring to match. Hope you are successful with your BERLINNER Make that a big one.

Glad you two enjoyed Ella. Most guys like those bananas. I always thought they were good. Leah eats lots of table food now and does not like milk at all. They need to give her some yogurt for the calcium. Hope that prednisolone helps DH. He WILL get hungry. It sure increases the appetite.

Barb I can relate to your DD dressing up with all those layers. It takes me a while to get dressed for my walk in this weather. How soon will she have wheels again? Hope she is not afraid to get behind the wheel. How are you liking your PDA?

Shawnee what beautiful flowers. You must have made him feel guilty. They sure look like USA flowers to me. Thought you were going to have some exotic Mexican flower. Still working on the bookmarks but they are beginning to look more familar to yours now. Enjoy your weekend with the fellas.

Jackie the new you is just too much for words. WTG gal.

Linda the party for Leah was nice except that we missed having our playful girl. DIL's family mostly. They served Chili, sausage balls, a salad I brought. Just a light luncheon. I made a mistake and at some of that B cake and ended up eating some of what I brought home for DH. (he has my cold now). Amazing how that starts off a craving. I thought I had better control.

Ginny you still having success selling those orkids on Ebay. My stuff I commisioned easy go auctions to sell has not done well at all. Lots of crafts on there now.

Back later folks

Hi everyone,

Boy it's cold and snowy around here. UGH!! Spent the day cleaning and trying to get some of those damned "Space Bags" to work. Seems the three I got just won't seal up properly and air gets in. They are going back tomorrow. Nice concept, but not if they don't work.

Roger, HOLY CHIT!! I was wayyyyy off on the price of those rubies. Goes to show ya what a country bumpkin I am.

Do you think drinking some tea would help with that water weight? Tea is supposed to act as a mild diuretic.

Hope the Ballet and Berlinner were enjoyable.

Barb, as cold as it is in our various parts of the country, at least we don't have the brutal crap the plains have. There is nothing to stop the arctic blast coming down through Canada.

DD's boyfriend is in Colorado today, crossing over the Rocky MTS., on his way to visit his son in SoCal. Hope he has a good set of chains for his 4WD truck.

Susan, OMG I guess there isn't much good to say about Socialized Medicine is there? That is far too long to wait for an evaluation. GEEZZZZ.

LOL kids sure are funny. Ella already has the carb cravings? Nick will eat anything. He doesn't care what and just wants it shoveled in. The little guy has two teeth on the bottom now.

Oh Leah, she is so adorable!!! Poor baby. Sorry she was sick but darn it, she liked that cake, eh?

Yeah all it takes is one bite of that stuff to set off a binge and those awful cravings.

Gotta get myself in the shower to warm up.

Waving to the MIA's.... Later.

Hi Y'all

Zip.for that price, I want a Package Deal...All three pieces for $5,999,999.99

Ha, I am no expert on the Texas Hold'um...just plain rat-azz lucky!
( I KNOW its luck cause I have also beaten DSon's so called experienced friends: Casino lizards who bet $200 a pop there)
Anyhoo, ya know about the positions of the Big and Little...the Button is the first player to receive a card. At home games, the Dealer must open the Ante before he deals (No more than the agreed- upon Bet Limit, say $1)...then the Little (player to dealer's right side) must put in half .

Loretta, the pics of Leah's Party are adorable...especially the impish grin, sitting on Daddy's lap...she's a Keeper.
LOL, the flowers were a belated B-day present...gifts from Mexico were left at his house .."come up and get 'em" enticement.

Aw, Jacki...Posy-Perfect! Aren't ya glad that Portland hogged all the icy-crud weather?
We've been lucky so far, eh?

SuSUN, did ya find a sweater pattern for Ella? Sure a lot of free patterns available. Maybe try her on Squash, not as carby.

Hope the Pred helps your DH. Better have a full pantry available.

Barb, sounds like a full workout, just dressing/undressing. I can't navigate all bundled up...even hard to drive.

Goddess, how's things in Pupdom? Bub holding his own? Our "local" Nitro made the news again, cops tossed him into an attic crawl space to catch a felon.

Son came down Friday for his DD's Graduation from Beauty/Cosmotology....she cried, he got it on film.
He and his Son stayed the weekend with us. We watched an hour's worth of his Mexican Vacation video..he knows how to have a good time
Marathon Poker and Cribbage (Bob's fav) for 3 days...GD's Grad. Celebration party at Pizza place...(color me GOOD, I ate the topping from ONLY ONE slice!) well, maybe it wasn't my goodness, I was still stuffed from a late restaurant brekkie.
Had a houseful plus GPup Burk this AM...I made a frittata (at least I think it was similar). Now its quiet, and I can resume being a Hermit. THREE days of family participation ...while fun...is hard on this ol' broad.

Montana, how's your puter doing? Hope all's well there....for your BP's sake.

Hey gang,

Cold here today. We even have flurries. Ugh. All is well with the pups, they have been staying inside for most of the day, just lazing around. Our Vikings lost so it's the end of football season for us. Don't much care what happens with the rest of it now.

Loretta, very cute pic of Leah! She sure looks content on her daddy's lap! Sure doesn't seem like she could be a year old already!

Susan, the orchid trade is off until warmer weather hits, but DH has listed some aquarium books (auctions are done now) and has some agates listed now. We used to do some rock hounding years ago when we lived up north, and it seems that ebay is quite the haven for those who want to collect without going outside LOL. So far so good, and if they wanna pay us for rocks, we'll sell 'em!

Linda, hope DD's BF doesn't have any problems in the mountains...this time of year is not necessarily good for travel out there! YIKES, I'd hate to be doing that! How much sneaux did y'all wind up with? Since it's flurrying here, I won't be surprised if they have schools closed--that just is silly, since there's nothing on the roads, but they'll close 'em anyways!

Shawnee, sounds like y'all had a wonderful weekend! We enjoy a good game of cribbage too, but I'm a bit rusty. Used to play with DR too. I'm going to whisper in Nitro's ear about y'all's Nitro... ours is such a big goof, no catching criminals for him! Bub's stayed pretty stable these last few days. No marked improvements, but stability is a good thing. Did Burk get a good run in during his visit?

Zip, hope you enjoyed your day out! You coudn't drag me to a ballet, give me a football game any time LOL!

Barb, sheesh, I know the drill of what your DD is doing! When I worked in downtown St. Paul, I took the bus to avoid parking costs and hassles, but waiting for a bus in the winter SUCKS. She may want to try getting a pair of insulated coveralls to alleviate the aggravation of so many layers. May not look cute, but they sure are warm! I'd think they'd be on sale now too.

Well, off to lurk for a bit. Hi to our MIA's!

Well, I watched as much football as I wanted.......

Loretta, that picture is really cute and a keeper!!

Samantha will get her new car this week after all of the papers are signed -- fed. express from CO to MN and back!! She is VERY concerned about intersections right now -- never wants anything like this again! Maybe this was a good experience when she was so young --

I love my PDA and carry it with me all the time. It's also great to use the keyboard and put something on Word and HotSync to the computer! I feel so up to date!

Ginny, that's interesting about using the coveralls -- Samantha has always mentioned that people in MN don't really care what they look like --they wear everything they have just be warm. Now, people in CO have to look fashionable!!

Shawnee, sounds like you had a busy time! I agree with going back to being a hermit. I could probably live in the woods by myself if I had groceries, radio and books to read for maybe a month!

Linda, there shouldn't be any problems traveling over the divide today or this week -- very quiet and warming up. It was nice that the mountains did get so much snow that the spring run-off will be good.

Interesting Loretta, that you know what sets off cravings. Sometimes I think I'm stronger than I really am.

SuSUN, Samantha will be in Brunswick on the coast. She's in a three year program for a DPT (doctor of phy. therapy) this is the second year and the third is all clinicals. Interesting with her car accident, she has had to use some of the exercises for her neck that they learned in class. It's much better, but did scare her!

I don't understand either why people buy DVD movies -- not anything I would want to watch over and over. I rec'd a number of them (along with the DVD player) for Xmas and they sit on the shelf -- might have to be snowed in or something to use them.

Julie, what are you up to............

Oh boy -- it's Monday tomorrow!

Hi again Y'all

Ginny...that Bub is stable is enough of a miracle. Seldom does man or critter recover 100% when age is a factor...take our blessings where we can. Yeah, Burk had a good workout.
I needed a PupLove refill, and he gave it.
Sorry bout your Vikings...but they did get ya some excitement earlier.

SuSUN, ironically....myDGSon brought over his vid of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, and we played it SAt. evening. I really couldn't get into it, as I felt no compassion for any of the characters except the Border Collie...I rooted for him to survive.

LOL, Barb...my Hermiting is good for about a week at a time. I need books and my puter for Winter months....then the great outdoors takes care of my Summer fulfillment.
Yeah, spending $ on DVDs is a bit foreign to me...the tv always has too many re-runs of them anyway...and seldom is a movie worth a second viewing, IMO. Same for books; all my "keeper" cases of them are usable references. For pleasure, its paperbacks...to be read once and passed on.

For those of you who have a Holiday tomorrow, enjoy it!
