Vintage Friday
Good morning everyone. 3:30 a.m. and 2 cups of caffeine..oops..I mean coffee down 20 to go. Had a night of strange fragmented dreams. Then, 2:30 some kind truckdriver had to call DH and disturbed whatever other fragmented dreams I had coming to me untill the alarm went off.
This week I've been working the lead cook job at school. 5:30 a.m. to 1:45. Makes me quite tuckered. I'll for certain need a nap this afternoon. (no cute smiley for tuckered) Cold this morning and possibilities of some nasty stuff by this evening and tomorrow morning. Snow? Ice? We'll see. Here's a nice something for y'all. turn up your volume. http://www.pasa.ch/ASA/Pages/PoPo/fun.htm Last edited by JackiCWa : 01-14-2005 at 04:34 AM. |

Good morning Jacki and everybody,
THE NEW SEEKERS never looked so cute..." 'a weem o weh, 'a weem o weh!" Boy your schedules is ferblungett today! ![]() ![]() This morning before dawn, it's 60° in a steady rain. How can it be so warm in JANUARY, global warming? Maybe NJ is the epicenter of it? We had a WONDERFUL day yesterday with a super Linner yesterday (we each had the Tenderloin of Kobe Beef over mashed potatoes ($34) and a side of tasty baby spinach ($5), puree of carrot-ginger soup ($8) and a MAGNIFICENTLY DECADENT Tiramisu smothered in fresh red raspberries, blackberries and strawberries (Lord knows where they fly the strawberries in from, but GOD, they tasted like strawberries ripened in the garden that I remember from when I was kid.) We never saw the check but it must have EASILY crossed the hundred dollar mark. It was nice to have MOMA back where it belongs and after I det my prints devel;oped at Photobucket , I mioght post one or two.No plans today, but yesterday I discontinued both BP drugs and I am going to go 6 weeks with none. I developed a tickly cough which feels very much like the old ACE inhibitor cough and iit might be caused by my Cozaar which is a similar but different class of drug. I'll monitor and record BP 3 times a day and TRY to restrict salt. THere will be some initial water weight gain as my system rebounds but after a week things should settle to status quo. Linda, I'm glad you found that new account workaround. At which level do you two keep your accounts separate? Do you log-in right at boot-up? How do you switch from one to the other, use the Log-off command in the START button? Bob just got up and made coffee so I'll sign off and be back later. Good day and bye! ![]()

Hi
Company left yesterday as we left to go to Paducah to get Dh's pacemaker checked out. Had a nice SHORT visit with the kids. DGS is a WWII buff and was asking Dh lots of questions about the war. Dh spent his time at Guam mostly. Glad they got a chance to talk. Pacemaker checked out fine and noted an "event" that happened Nov 5 at 9 PM that lasted 1.5 min. Amazing how it does that. DH has to report for jury duty today but I am hoping he is not accepted because of all the meds he takes. I guess some states excuse those over 70 automatically. DH will miss a lot of testamony since he is on a lot of lasix in the am. Will know later today. He has my cold now. Zip that menu sounds devine. Oh how I would have relished that meal. Enjoy those 60s, we are down to the 20s at night and warm up to the 30s in the day. Do you think the weather is reversing its pattern? All of that snow and ice we had???? Jackie be careful on that nasty stuff? Do they close school easily. We get a flake or two and bam, closed. Barb how are you liking your PDA? Just curious. What kind is it? Palm, iPAQ? Apple? I have one and use it a lot for addresses, phone numbers, grocery list, games. etc. I have an iPAQ. Hey Julie slow down and be careful out there. Susun as long as you enjoy spending your time with Ella and enjoy it that is great. But if you feel too put upon that might create a problem. I am glad that Leah is at day care, I could not nor want to watch her that much. Shawnee just got my smaller hook today. I might take a wack at the bookmarks again, I am about to give up on them unless they start looking more decent. That is some small stuff. Linda what was wrong with your PC to start with, besides the btmp picture thingy. I like xp it takes the pics and autmatically converts them to jpg. even the ones I change in the "paint" program to make smaller. Later folks Missed chatting with you all. Running in really quick before my Dr's appt.
Woke to about 6 inches of heavy snow but fortunately the roads don't look too bad. Jackie, it must have been one of those sleepless nights for many of us since I tossed and turned until about 6 AM. Hope you are able to get that nap later. Those early shifts are KILLERS! Roger, DROOL! Your linner must have been absolutely wonderful!! I can almost taste it. LOL I'm fiddling with my BP meds too since the HCTZ 25 are far too much for me. They knock me on my AZZ so I cut them in half. BP seems to be holding steady at about 128/74 for now. Hope you can get yours straightened out soon. What a crap shoot, eh? We have the option of creating up to 5 user accounts, all with administrator privileges. We started out with "Owner" and Gerard and I created "Linda" the other day. Most nights I just leave the "Owner" logged on so the anti virus scan will run....monitor off though... Yes just move between accts. from start > log off > switch user . It's not too time consuming. Hi Julie and Ginny. Hope to see both of you later. Susan, yeah those early mornings are not fun and tend to knock you off your feet for a few days. Hope you don't need to do that too long. Loretta, hopefully they will excuse your DH from jury duty. Here in NY, it takes an act of congress to get one excused. I saw people using O2 and walkers seated. Sheesh!! Actually, most people don't' actually get called, just a few unlucky ones. Keeping my fingers crossed for him. Heck, I'm not exactly sure why my owner's acct. wouldn't accept pictures as jpeg. I very well may have deleted something necessary. Something...spy ware?...may have snuck past the security and slowed the thing down too. We were getting far too many "error" msgs. It's fine now. Shawnee, I'm with Loretta on that small hook. YIKES! My afghan stitch is done with a "G"hook. Guess we may need new glasses Loretta. LOL |

Dh sure made me nervous because he was not approaching the bench to see if he could get excused. Finally after a trip to the restroom, he went up. Not a problem for him to be excused. Now I hope they take his name off the list.
For the most part my bp is behaving with the 5/20 of Lotrel and 100 of my atenolol. Half of that Lortel is Norvasc. Have you tried Norvasc yet Linda. NO more coughing now that my cold has cleared up. |

Loretta, it's great that your DH dodged the jury duty bullet. It can be very interesting but so darn stressful too.
Glad those BP meds are working for you. Right now, I'm doing pretty good with 80 mg Diovan and 12.5 HCTZ. Doctor said to keep things as is and monitor it. If it goes up I'm to increase the Diovan to 160. Norvasc is another one with a good probability of causing bronchospasms so no go for me. |

Loretta,
Keep your fingers crossed. The cough from the benazapril component of the Lotrel is a doozy. There is something ESPECIALLY annoying from an ACE cough (it's caused by bradykinin in the lungs which the drugs allow to built up.) Was it YOU or your dh that escaped jury duty? Are you getting any of that Kentucky flooding. I heard half a report that they found a family in Jersey City with hands tied and throats slashed. If you hear anything let me know. Getting chillier and chillier! ![]() |
