Sunny SUNDAY for the MVM
Good morning gang,
Ginny, Meclizine is the generic for Antivert but unfortunately it's strictly prescription...God forbid we diagnose ourselves and determine we are dizzy and nauseous; that might undermine the entire field of medical practice. "Doctor, I fall over and throw up when I turn my head." "Well, my child (spoken in stentorian tones)...HERE'S a prescription for MECLIZINE." Cost: Meclizine $8; Doctor $100! ![]() Anyhoo, for any drugs you order regularly that aren't covered by insurance, drugstore.com is the ABSOLUTE BEST you can do: http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...UY-PLST-0-SRCH I'm glad Bubba is getting better. He may need the meclizine a long while. At least it's dirt cheap. I'll do more later when I lose this chocolate hangover :Stars:...damn Duane Reade had a 2 for one on the 6 ounce Hershey's Special Dark...2/$1.99. I COULDN'T just walk PAST!

Morning all,
Sunny today, so gh will get a nice watering. Vikings play this afternoon, so if you hear loud noises and screaming, it's us. Zip, thanks for the link! That's a heckuva price on Meclizine, will have to get the vet to give me an outside 'script! Look at Dramamine Less Drowsy on line.....it's OTC and is also Meclizine 25 mg...........so we have a cheaper-than-the-vet source until we can get the 'big jar'! All, hope you're having a wonderful day! |

HI to all
It truly is a SUNNY SUNDAY here in Ky. We have had our share of moisture lately. Hope it stays dry for a few days. Company will arrive on Tuesday and leave on Thursday. Just the right time for a visit. DSD and her son and his wife. We will have dinner on Wed evening and open the rest of the Christmas presents. Any one have a good recipe for a bonless pork loin? Zip I have decided that my cough is a bug and seem to be having a sore throat for one thing. I sure hope that is my problem and not the ACE. I sure would like to join you at the pool. I enjoy swimming but not sure how many laps I could get in before I am out of air. Bob's not interested in working out at the gym? Ginny I feel bad for Spot just running loose. Doesn't show much care from his owners. He sure is a winsome sort of dog. Linda hope those temps are warming up for you. How is Gerard's rash and foot problem? Shawnee how long have you had that problem with your thyroid? Thanks God for meds that can help our bodies stay in a normal range (whatever that is) How are the slippers coming. I have not done much crocheting lately. Trying to get my food stock back up, ie, pizza, soup and some others that I enjoy. I have a long list of favorites now. It sure helps with the maintaining to have foods we enjoy. Going to a pot luck at church in a while. Taking some Roast Sticky Chicken pieces. Later folks Loretta |

Woke up to another inch of snow after yesterdays mostly melted. Sure is pretty out there.
Finally got my treadmill in the family room yesterday. Sitting in that garage is a little hard to go out there and use it. Roger, now why didn't you walk right by that chocolate???? Seems logical to me.... I guess we are all human, esp when it comes to chocolate!!! Enjoy and then get back to losing.Ginny, enjoy that lovely sunshine.. We got another inch of snow last night. It is so pretty but sure raising hell with Seattle's highways. I yelled for those Seahawks yesterday and in the end, they lost. I mistaken yesterday when I said they hadn't been in a playoff game in 29 years....I meant they hadn't WON a playoff game in 20 years!! STILL HAVEN'T WON!!! Rooting for the Vikings!!! Edited to say Hi to Loretta...missed you as we were posting at the same time. Careful at the church function tonight.

No sun here! Rain/snow mix!
Went to look at new cars yesterday -- that's a sticker shock! We probably will go with Honda Civic LX -- it's the best rated and we have always found the Honda's to be great on maintenance.IF you hear SCREAMING from here -- it's because GREEN BAY is playing Vikings! Should be a great game! Then Denver plays the late game for a wildcard slot. My day is set! Julie, baby steps is what I call it!! Nick has made the first steps and surely will progress until your gentle and kind care. I was waiting and waiting for a ride this week and you never did come by to pick me up!! You will have to brush up on your car pool skills. What did you decide was causing a gradual weight gain? I agree with Linda that it must be more than just cheese and nuts.I thought that DARK CHOCOLATE was good for you!! I NEVER get a headache from any chocolate ! So, the next time you are tempted to buy some -- just send it on over here! Just mailing alone will take care of any price saving you encountered. Loretta, good timing on that company!! 3 days for relatives is my motto! Ginny, the BEST team will win!! Later, Barb

BArb, so good to see ya....you've been MIA lately.
Sorry about the car pool, I seemed to be full up this last week. You have to get your reservation in a little earlier next time. I'm really not sure what happened with the weight. I just kept adding in more carbs I guess. Got complacent after the holidays. Back down to 119 today so it'll come off...I'm convinced and determined... So how's your weight? Keeping it off?? Not doing the Valentine Challenge like Loretta and myself????? |

Barb,
You are sooo lucky not to suffer from chocolate. On the other hand if I DIDN'T I'd spend all day in a corner stuffing my face with bunnies and Santas and weigh 400 pounds! On dark cholate my pain limit is about 2 ounces max...I can double that with milk chocolate. Ginny, Just open an account and order the meclizine and then tell your vet to phone or fax the script in...they will even phone HIM if you like. I scoped out the Dramamine Less Drowsy and something called Bonine (same thing.) Gotta LOVE this warning: Quote:
Loretta, I DO hope that it was only a cold making you cough because the ACE inhibitors are probably the BEST BP lowerers for the 11 people on Earth who can stand them ! I'd like for you to be one of them.Hey Julie, you sound chipper today. Boo, hoo...nobody was interested in my excellent TUXRACER...it's more fun than a roller coaster: http://tuxracer.sourceforge.net/ Linda, you're a skier...be brave! BTW, have you tried SYSTEM RESTORE yet to try to get back to a time when your 'puter was free of these bugs? Oh please somebody, SHOOT ME before I EVER do a thorough oven cleaning again...Jesus, the whole f&*#ing day down the tubes! |

Hi Y'all
AW, Loretta and Zip with those chocolate problems...it is the ONE "fix" I need when nothing else in the whole house will satisfy me. LOL, Zip...when doing ANY business with the government, it pays to have Documentation/back up for every oral/written statement ya make. Hope that choc hangover disappears pronto.Ginny, good to know the Bub is making progress, and trying to hold his own. ![]() So, Montana...ya picked up that hook, huh? Did it feel awkward at first, or is it like riding a bicycle? Loretta, hope the relatives coming are ones ya actually like! I've been hypo since 1980....not too many problems til the last few years. Big problem is the thyroid needs Iodine to function properly...and lucky me, I have an Iodine allergy. I made Bob a hat (watch cap) that he likes (it impressed GBrat Kaci) and a pair of slippers (that I can't brag about...they are utilitarian/warm...definitely not pretty) Jacki...the ServicePack2 has caused so much controversy. I'm not gonna vote for or against it, but I DID download it last October, and am still putting along with no problems from it. Good luck. Barb, LOL...ya need a stiff drink before facing those new car $ticker$ prices. Hope ya get a good one. Julie, thanks for all the funnies ya been sending...a good chuckle is always appreciated. Congrats on heading down the scale. MAY THE BEST TEAMS WIN ![]() I only (half-heartedly) follow one sport, our local basketball Blazers...and in the last few years, their on-and-off court behavior activities are an embarrassment. SuSUN, so Miss Ella is teething? Bess the hearts of all teething babies...and their Mommies too. If you're having success with Olive oil re Oliver, that's great. The next time you are slathered with Skin-so-Soft, snuggle him a bit, and check to see if he has a reaction. OK, I am OFFICIALLY a member of the ol' broads RED HAT Society...and have my mascot to prove it ![]() A precious friend thought my 60th B-day was the perfect opportunity to induct me............so guess what arrived in the Mail... (press her paw, she sings I will by the Beetles) Meet Ashley, the Red Hat Bear ![]() Have a Super Sunday, y'all. ShawneeLast edited by shawneesioux : 01-09-2005 at 02:53 PM. |

Shawnee, Ashly is sooo darn cute. So you joined the Red Hat Society huh? Good social club I hear.
I've been considering the Servicepack2 but have been chicken since Linda has gotten me afraid!!!!!!!!! Zip, Did I miss the Tuxracer site before? Hmmm Just took a short walk down to the library so I'm set for a week or so. Actually just started another book but it's a paid for paperback and it can wait. If I only can remember whats going on the first one it'll be a miracle! Snow melted a little but not all and it's still 33 degrees here. Hmmm wonder if more will come.. |

Howdy....did some service pack 1 updates and uninstalled the ad aware and spybot. So far all seems better!
Can you relate to this? Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. - Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. This is how it manifests itself: I decide to wash my car. As I start toward to the garage, I notice that there is mail on the hall table. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the trash can under the table, and notice that the trash can is full. So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the trash first, but then I think that since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the trash anyway, I may as well pay the bills first. I take my checkbook off the table and see that there is only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go to my desk where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking. I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the C! oke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over. I see that the Coke is getting warm, and I decide I should put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they need to be watered. I set the Coke down on the counter and I discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I'd better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water, and suddenly I spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table. I realize that tonight, when we go to watch TV, we will be looking for the remote, but nobody will remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I splash some water on the flowers, but mos! t! of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back down on the t able, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do. At the end of the day; the car isn't washed, the bills aren't paid, there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter, the flowers aren't watered, there is still only one check in my checkbook, I can't find the remote, I can't find my glasses, and I don't remember what I did with the car keys. Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day long and I'm really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail. Do me a favor, will you? Forward this message to close friends you know, because I don't remember to whom it has been sent. Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day ! is coming! And if I have sent this to you before....well, now you know why you're getting it again.! SENIOR BREAKFAST We went to breakfast at a restaurant where the "seniors' special" was two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast for $1.99. "Sounds good," my wife said. "But I don't want the eggs." "Then I'll have to charge you two dollars and forty-nine cents because you're ordering a la carte," the waitress warned her. "You mean I'd have to pay for not taking the eggs?" My wife asked incredulously. "I'll take the special." "How do you want your eggs?" "Raw and in the shell," my wife replied. She took the two eggs home. DON'T MESS WITH SENIORS. ![]() |

Jacki, thats me with A.A.A.D.D.!! I have Spybot and AdAware and never had any trouble with them. Hmmmmm
Did ya hear on the news tonight if you have Alzheimer's, you lose your appitite!!! Guess none of us here have that!!!! Advice from Maxine. Do you realize that in about 40 years, we'll have thousands of old ladies running around with tattoos? After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead. Hey all,
Well, the Vikings did it.....go figure! I sure didn't recognize that team in their uniforms that came out and whupped @ss, who do you reckon it was LOL!!! Of course now we go to Philadelphia, so I'll enjoy this win as long as I can. Bit of trivia for those who haven't been following: this year the Vikings and Green Bay have met up 3 times. In each of the 3 games, the Vikings have scored 31 points. The first 2 games, the Packers scored 34 points, with each win coming on a last second's effort of their kicker making a field goal. This week they only scored 17 points, just HALF of what they scored in each of the previous games. Wierd, huh? Zip, meclizine is now available WITHOUT a prescription! I found that out today when I talked to the pharmacist at Wallyworld. Some of it still is, the brand name Antivert is by prescription only, but depending on the manufacturer it can either be OTC or not. This is for the 25mg strength. Sooooooo, we can get the 100 ct. bottle for CHEAP now, without a 'script and without the vet visit! Julie, sorry about your Seahawks.....we were rooting for them but it didn't work. DR is a Seahawk fan too, used to live in Seattle years ago. Be careful on that sneaux! Shawnee, adorable bear! Yes, some of the antics the players get into really detract from the game. What I hate is the ones that are excused from criminal activity penalties because of their fame--IMO they should be held even MORE accountable since they are considered role models! A happy early birthday to Bob! Loretta, wasn't it nice to see the sunshine today! Got close to 60 I believe, sure hope it's another warming trend and y'all can dry out a bit too. How was the gathering? Linda, we'll miss you, but best to get the 'puter back in shape. Such a pain when they start acting up. They may have to reformat it for you, so I hope you have everything saved on disc! Susan, just so I don't forget, to your DH! Glad y'all had a nice celebration!Jacki, I think I've had days like that. Tail chasing is no fun, but we all do it every so often. Barb, well, my condolences to you on the football season *runs for cover* and I'll let you use the Vikings mantra: just wait till next year! Well, gang, off to lurk for a minute then bed. All have a good night!
