Sunday for MVM's
Hi everybody,
The puter is more stable this morning. Back about 4 months ago a friend who is UNBELIEVABLY computer savvy (writes game programs) took a look at my new high speed connection (his phone line wasn;t suitable so he still had dial-up.) He fiddled around and showed me some GOOD stuff but he found out that my JAVA engine was the Microsoft variety and there were many new "improvements" with the newer SUN version (they invented JAVA) so he just downloaded the new version. :eeek: Anyhoo, everytime I have a problem now, it seems JAVA connected, and all three worms were passed via JAVA programs (a certain set of free online games I think.) Sooo, one advantage of a complete reformat is the Java engine will revert back to the old Windows Me Version. I'll try to go as long as I can though...the REFORMAT is always daunting but then I have a new fast machine that flies like greased lightning. Hint, Microsoft doesn't LIKE it's competitors, even if the competitors INVENTED the technology. Linda, It's scary but doable. Someday you'll tackle a REFORMAT. Macy's has a good sale on today...maybe some Fleece. We are heading that way anyway and are going to see THE AVIATOR (about Howard Hughes) at the LOEWS in the backyard Mall. Barb, Construction here is cement slab with a thin wood parquet glued on. Ceiling is a sprayed thin layer puffy stuff. WHere there's no carpeting the effect is just like living on a cold sidewalk with a ceiling another slab of the same cold sidewalk (about 58,000 pounds above and below.) Of course NOTHING is carpeted on the empty apartment above. Oh well, the landlord pays for the gas and if he wants to be cheap, so can we. Only Phonecia gasps for air...she looks like she was hit by a truck! Ginny, Glad Bub is showing improvewment however slight. Ever since my ear surgery last Summer I have a slight recurrent dizziness (like Julie) that I hate...but it's a small price to pay for hearing. His daily meclizine may need to be continued for a while longer, but I'll bet he snaps out of it soon. BTW, JAcki, How's the vertigo...gone I hope? (Maybe just a hangover?) Julie, Feel better; knees AND plumbing acting up at once can be tough. Loretta, A nice pattern you've established with the 6 year tradion of dinner with the same people on New Years...I LIKE patterns like that; saves on the planning. Susun, Oh that dinner sounded superb...you had the right entre: I LOVE pink roast lamb. In fact they have some boneless lamb round roasts on sale at SR this week. I've never even SEEN them and I think I might give it a shot if the roasts aren't gigantic. Ohhh, I found a 65 page pdf file detailing a British study of electric blanket safety, and I now understand how they work. Several types but the type in the U.S. made by Sunbeam (NOT in Europe) is Super Safe I wouldn't buy another Sunbeam product if my life depended upon it. How about making cars that get slower and slower so that after 5 years they can't go faster tham 20 mph...but they're REALLY REALLY SAFE! The NOIVE (as Curly would say!) Be good kiddies...but if you can't be good, remember to tell us all what you did (and be sure to wash the trapeze afterwards.)

Sorry,
Juulie, I got my posts mixed up...I know that's Jacki who was dizzy, but alas after the fateful hour goes by, we're stuck woth our posts. Trip to Mall was a walk and nothing more...looked at a recliner which was confy but looks a little to Mexican/Hispaniola Modern for me. We're going to do the AVIATOR tomorrow instead because then we can see the BARGAIN matinee at 3:30PM instead of 11:15 AM...Who in blazes wants to see a movie in the MORNING. |

Good SUNday after...!
We had a wonderful day yesterday, the mercury was rising and very kind. The SUN came out, we even had a thaw and the roads were great for driving to and from DD's. We had the roast beef supper with lots of veggies and we had another relaxing evening. Now gotta get the proverbial A$$ into gear today. As I write this I have frequent tapping at the window of freezing rain, with the mercury rising we get the other crapola that follows. It did sneux briefly this morning, just a light dusting of fluffy flakes, not anything to worry about but we are staying put today. Lots of house chores to do anyway, so that's a good thing, as Martha would say! Hope to check back later after I have been more productive around here! to everyone!SuSUN |

Morning Roger and all.
Roger I can hardly post two words strung together early in the day and before I have at least two or three cups of coffee. ![]() Been reading up on reformats but am not ready to attempt that just yet. LOL Maybe someday. The Company Store on line cataloger is having a sale on the polar fleece blankets but their price is quite high for king size...$99.00. Hope Macy's has some good sales. What about Lord and Taylor? I always love that place. MOVIE AT 11 in the morning? 3 is much more civilized.Gotta get that extra cup of coffee in before my head works. Susan, we must have been posting at the same time. We are in the same boat with that freezing CRAP coming down right now. Stay off the roads and stay safe. Hahahaha Roger, I thought you meant I was a dizzy blond type. Now that fits me except for I'm brown haired!!! Maybe dizzy broad would be more like it. Just glad to see your human too.We watched the BOURNE SUPREMACY on DVD last night. Pretty good movie. We had Marisa our 7yo DDKid here all day yesterday and lasts night. She's a good girl and will actually play by herself some. DD picked her up this morning.. Jana the 15 yo is suppose to drop by this afternoon for her gifts. She's the one who wouldn't go to her mom's on Christmas. This is the year I'm quitting complaining about all my aches and pains to all of you. I'm sure you're sick of my whinning!!! At least I'm going to TRY!! Remind me if I forget!Had to laugh Roger about the electric blanket stories. I also want an old one that will just warm my bed up before I get in it. Only warms when you are actually in it is the pits!! DARN... Linda, I am on my 3rd cup of coffee and am beginning to wake up.....LOL Does that ever REALLY happen???? You know, dizzy broad here and all!!! I don't think I could ever do a reformat either or system restore. SuSun, gee make sure your sure footed in the ice...maybe Suzy Suff today is best. I have my house all clear of Christmas and it feels good to get it back to normal. Opps... still those DGKids presents in the corner but they'll be gone tonight. It's gotten cooler here but the SUN is out and I'm happy as a clam. Maybe try and walk around the block but it'll have to be in the street instead of the cement sidewalks. See how that workds out. Your walks always sound so inviting with your DD and Oliver and now Ella. Off to get dressed and make the best of this beautiful day. Have a good one .......... ![]()

Hi and a Happy Sunday to all
I think we have had several Sundays in the past week or so. It is easy for me to get confused at this time of year. On to 2005. I will have to write that at least 50 times before I remember that we have switched over. Barb have you seen all that foot ball on TV. I think Dh has watched most of the games. He really enjoys football. I think the season is too short. Baseball seems to be a lot longer. Super Bowl soon. I wonder what the antics will be this year. Roger you just fool aroung to much with that computer. Even if you got a new one you would be ready to reorganize it. I have reformatted and sure don't enjoy any of that. My new pc was enough to make me for about 2 weeks. I sure do like it fine now and XP has lots of features that I like. It has a nice guy in there called a Wizard. I have learned to follow his lead. It works better that way. I was stuck trying to use my old knowledge on the new pc and it has a new mind of its own.Linda be careful if you go out today. I think our biggest problems here were caused by the ice with the thawing and refreezing of the snow on the roof, etc. Glad that is behind us now. Do you take more than one bp rx? I have hit on a plan. I take the new drug and night, supper time and my atenolol at 9 am. I was about getting fed up. Julie go ahead and keep complaining that way I can go on complaining too. We all have to get it out of our systems. Why not here. Glad you are enjoying the DGkids. Susun be careful with that ice on the roads. Get yourself a good book and a nice fleece throw. How is DH doing lately? Have you started with your writing class yet? Waving at Ginny, Jackie and Shawnee. Later Loretta |

Julie, the wizard shows up when I am writing /saving my documents on the cd writer. I like to keep a yearly dairy. Lately I have been inserting pictures into my writing. Like pictures of Leah and the storm. The cd holds a lot of info plus pics.
The wizard also shows up in my quicken program when I back up my financial info. Those are the only two places I run into it so far. Susun I like your new avitar. Good job. Keep at it. |

Hey gang,
Still nice and warm, but it is cloudy out there and we did get some rain last night. Supposed to be more rain coming. Of course, I did invite the rain since I mopped the kitchen floor LOL. Who cares what the weatherpeople predict, what really brings rain is getting floors cleaned, or construction! Vikings lost today. Trying to figure out WTH is wrong with them. I think we'll back into the playoffs, but most likely we'll be out in the first round. VIKINGS MANTRA: Just wait till next year. I need to do a t-shirt in that! Bub's holding about the same. He tried to trot around yesterday, but that didn't work too pretty good. DH will be out there and see him try that, tells him 'Boy, slow down now' and Bub listens. I knew I had a smart kid! I'm trying to think of a way to get him a little more integrated with the rest in the house, but the kitchen is way too slippery for Bub to negotiate. Been running scenarios in my head of where to put a squishy rug and see if he'll just go to it and not try the floor. I can't close off the whole cement area for him as that's where the watering trough is. He's feeling good enough to want company and interaction, but not steady enough for tile floors yet. All y'all that are in the sleet zone, please be careful! Strange weather, huh? Usually you're freezing your cajones off right now! Off to lurk. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Guys!
Back agin! Julie, Yep, you were right best to do the Suzy stuff today, got the bathrooms done, some laundry and some paper sortin! Actually dumped some papers. Christmas stuff stays around here till the Epiphany, Jan 6th, old habits die hard! How was your walk around the neighbourhood? I certainly see the family resemblance in your DS, especially Mama! Keep sharing what's up witcha, cuz that means we can all offload too! I can't wait till Ella can sleep over here, save me with all that driving over there and back! Right now, there is way too much equipment, cribs, jolly jumper, bouncey seat, exer-saucer, just to name a few, so save movin house, I'll continue goin over there. Loretta, I wanna write like you do, inserting pics sounds interesting! I get such a charge out of learnin how to do stuff on the puter but dont take the time, I'm always in a rush. That writin course was just a two day workshop, took lots of notes, so I've got the best of intentions. I have a power point presentation to prepare. It is a lunch'nlearn thing at our local hospital also being aired by teleconference, so gotta get good for that one. I have been gathering articles not sure how I will string it all together yet! I have the wizard on my puter at work not at home. I should read the Help menu more often. DH is still waiting for more tests, he is still mobile but walking with a cane now to help with his balance and lower leg weakness. When he sees the neurologist, I am sure he will do a nerve conduction test and such. Thanks for asking. Linda, Yes, it seems we are having the same weather. Thanks for the tips on the fleece blankets etc... I plan to make Oliver a blankee for his bed. Who was it that said we can buy the fleece by the yard and sew them up? Gotta check out the fabric stores, double fleece I think will do him just fine. Roger, Enjoy Howard Hughes 'n stuff! Interesting readin on the 'leky blankee! Has that cold finally vacated your head? Hope so! What bargains did ya find today? Any lamb or fleece??? sorry bout that!Betta go see if I can squeeze another chore in somewhere before DH comes home. SuSUN |

Good evening......... to all!!
Had a fun time today with friends of ours, but all this fresh air and exercise is wearing me out -- can hardly wait to go to bed. Loretta, didn't see much football because we were gone, but Denver made it into the playoffs, Vikings lost but will play Green Bay next week and Seattle won!! So onward toward the playoffs!! Work tomorrow!! Oh no, I smell a routine coming on -- getting up early, exercise, and drinking all that water! Till the morrow......... Barb |
