The day before New Years Eve for the MVM

Hi everyone,

It seems funny to be the first on here today.

Julie, I must say that your son has really beautiful eyes. LOL never mind the "unshaved" look. He is a doll! Thanks for posting his picture.

I'm off to the local grocery store to see if Rib eye steaks are still on sale. Kicking myself for not picking up more the other day. They were only $6.99 lb as opposed to the regular price of$9.99.

Tootle, more later.

SO good to be drying out here and having the roads cleared. The snow melted big time yesterday and the leaks stopped since it has warmed up and the ice is out of the gutters. Got a new wet-dry vac to finish the job and have several fans running toward the carpet.

I read that story about the red fox Linda. I see they have moved the breeding cubs and parents away from that zoo. Wonder how that young Miller got to be in charge there????
How is that new Rav doing? Have you had to put the 4 wheel drive to a test yet?

Looking forward to tomorrow evening. Going out for dinner with our friends and then will play some Michigan Rummy afterwards.

Poor Bub Ginny. Maybe he will have to stay on the rx for his dizziness. Lots of us "older folks" are helped by drugs also. Did you see the story about that woman who paid $56,000 to have a cat cloned to replace her old one? Just wonder about that cat.

Julie what a handsome looking young man that son of yours is. Such a winning smile. Thanks for posting that and the other pics of your family. I sure enjoy seeing all of them.

Zip have you recovered from that cold yet? What are the plans for NYEve there in NJ?

Hi to the rest of our gang.

Lretta

Thank you Linda for your compliment on Jeff.

Did I ever tell you how little we had to pay for our Prime Rib the other day? $3.00 Can you believe it? I picked up one more and stuck it in the freezer. BTW it came out med rare, just like we like it. Perfect...I decided to cook it at 350 till the meat thermometer said 130 degrees. I may take it out at 125 next time. I let it sit for 30 min. too so it continues to cook.

Very fun day today..lunch with a couple of gf and then, nothing. I may get out a jig saw puzzle or snuggle up and read a book. Hmmm what to do? I love it!!

How's everyone else?
I'm trying not to watch the news, I can't hardly comprehend this disaster. My heart just aches for all those people.

Later gang...

Hey gang,

Small band we are today! Reckon everyone is getting ready for 'amateur night? LOL

The Bub is doing better today, antivert is kicking in. He's still not quite where he was before the script ran out, but we're making good progress. He's snoozing almost on his side now, which is much better than 'holding' onto the floor on his belly. He's farther over on his side than he has been since he's been sick. When a dog is completely laid out, that's his soundest sleep, so hoping for a good, healing rest! Funny thing, when he went off the antivert, his head lost it's tilt and straightened up. Now that he's back on it, the tilt has not come back as of yet. Hmmmmmm we'll see if it stays that way.

Loretta, all's melted here too with the warmer weather, but we didn't have much to melt. Sure glad the roof has quit leaking and hope the carpet dries out ok for you! Yikes, what a mess for y'all! Enjoy your night out tomorrow, and be careful driving!

Linda, sounds like y'all need to buy 1/2 a beef or so, steaks are MUCH cheaper that way! Find you a good farmer that doesn't use growth hormones and get some 'freezer bait'!

Julie, sorry that cortisone didn't help ya, ouch for you! Thanks for sharing the pic of your son.....nice looking feller!

Hi to all our lurkers, gonna go lurk a bit myself!

Hi Y'all

Looks like some good news here today

Yahoo Loretta, things are lookin' up for y'all. Had to be depressing, snowed in and a leaking roof...right at Christmas too.

Have a teriffic time with your friends; y'all sure deserve a fun night out

We got a huge rug shampooer bout 20 years ago, big ol sucker, cannister-type monster. Before it was hardly out of the box, our neighbor's hotwater tank went nuts and leaked all over the carpeting...so he borrowed it to suck up all that slush.
(Our Christmas Tree peed on our floor, the stand reseviour (?) developed a leak...went under the plastic protector sheet..ugh.)

OH, this will interest y'all who crochet...LOL...ALL I learned to make was 2 styles of bookmarks, and flooded my relatives with 'em. well, DGBrat Kaci got me a LEFTIE crochet book...I didn't know how to crochet back into the first chain, and the Book said PRACTICE!...so I made lots of practice runs, and the damned thing started looking like a potholder, cause I didn't stop with just a few practice runs....so I DC'd a border around it...and its either a potholder or a blanket for a mouse.

Ginny, You can exhale cautiously now, for Bub's sake. Lord knows I hate drugs, but when they actually help without side effects, I'm glad they exist. Bub is blessed to have you for a Mom.

Julie, great pics of GKids (so cute!), DD and DS. Thanks for sharing them. Some folk swear by your 350* method, others start out at 500* for 30 min, then turn off the oven and let it coast for 2 hrs.

Yeah, I read about that $$$$ cloned cat. My thought was that the owner had more $$$ than brains...she could have shown her love for the origional, and honored its memory, by adopting a Rescue Shelter kitten. Just my opinion...and y'all know I'm very opinionated

Montana, hope ya got a deal on the prime rib. Runs $6.99 - 9..99 here, unless we go over to a Cash wholesale place. There its $4.59 lb, in a frozen 12 lb roast.
How's the "bug" coming along?

Hey to all the MIAs...

Y'all have a good day tomorrow.

Shawnee
