WEDNESDAY for the Holiday Weary MVM'S

Hi everybody,
Well at least it's over freezing by a bit so far today...dare I HOPE for 40°F?

Shawnee,
Oh, Chuck is ADORABLE in the box...I can HEAR him humming to himself..."THis land is MY land, this land is MY land." He'd have to learn to ise the elevator and an emergency door to get 15 stories up to the roof.

Linda,
Antibiotics can play havoc on our digestive systems. See if you can replace some of that flora with some kefir if you can buy a quart anywhere. Yoghurt in a pinch but the yoghurt buggies aren't quite strong enough to do much "housekeeping." Feel better.

Loretta,
Do you feel ok?

Bubba,
Take Ginny for a nice romp...it's getting warmer fast.

Jacki, Barb, Susun, Julie...enjoy the QUIET part of the Holiday Season.

(Oh I found the final burial place of ALL the poopie seeds that are grown on Earth...the bottom of my freezer.)

God, so far 55, 000 confirmed dead in the tsunami and climbing rapidly. Talk about an UnMerry Christmas.

Oh my,
Now 70,000 dead. I doubt that the number will even stop at 100,000.... or 200,000?

Oh Julie,

Thanxx so much for the elf game...it's great fun and I blast away like a trooper...only occasionally pelting dear Santa.

OMG -- I don't think one can realize the horrid conditions over in S. Asia. The pictures on TV are terrible -- beyond belief. I never realized that it was an area of tourist activity -- I always hate it when they just mention the famous people vacationing in the area -- the other 50,000 + were people also. Just my 2 cents!

Leaving today for a little overnighter (birthday + one yr. maintenance anniver.) BUT......... I'll be back Thursday night.

Take care.........

Hi to all

I am fine but just busy with snow related duties. Insurance man came yesterday and suggested a local outfit that will get the ice out of the gutters. The temperature is up today to the 50s and the inside drips have stopped for now. I just have not been very good company lately. Feeling sorry for myself. GET OVER IT LORETTA. This blizzard has brought tears to my eyes. Not sure when we will celebrate Christmas with the local families. Company coming on the 8th of Jan.
I am feeling so sad also about the Asian tradegy and all of those who have lost loved ones and their homes. I just cannot imagine the sorrow and mourning there. Now more problems with disease because of the conditions.

Zip what a plan for defrosting that freezer. Does Bob walk the stuff around the block while waiting? I can just see that big cart loaded with frozen food.

Barb have a good time. You will miss that DD but I agree about the peace and quiet again.

Shawnee what a nice close up of Chuckster. He looks ready to cozy up in that box. Dh did not injure himself except for a small cut that just happened to bleed all over his new suede shirt.
I guess you were getting Chuckster ready to mail off to Zip with the croutons. No wonder he was giving you an evil look.

Linda yes these gutter back ups are a PITA for sure. Sure hope we don't see anything like this for the next 25 years. We are getting to old to handle this type of thing. I would sell and move to the city or an apartment but I know DH won't leave the homestead. The service man has been here and took down one of the elbows in the gutter so the water is draining nicely now.
He got stuck in the drive way several times on his way out.

Julie thanks for post the nice pictures of your son and his family. The kids are just beautiful as are the parents and grandma, of course.

Jackie glad you are able to enjoy that time off. Are the remodeling projects done now? Is your grandson staying for a visit?

Ginny how warm are your temps going to? We might hit the 60s tomorrow. What is on the menu for New Years Eve?

Susun hope you get some good news soon on what is causing Dh's weakness in the legs. It would be nice to have a reason and a cure.

Gotta run, I have taken up all the space I need for today.

Loretta

Thanks Dr. Roger, I'll run out and buy some kefir today. Been eating yogurt but hadn't thought about kefir. DUH

Tis amazing what one finds in the bottom of the freezer, eh?

MY GOD!! What devastation and unimaginable grief mother nature caused this time.
We were rather worried about my cousin who lives in Montana since he usually spends a month or so in SE Asia at this time of the year. Fortunately he decided to go to South America.

Barb, Happy Birthday and Happy one year anniversary. Enjoy that mini vacation and celebration.

Shawnee, Peace, Blessings and Contentment back at ya.

Julie, what a lovely family you have. Enjoy your Christmas celebration with your youngest. We will anxiously await more pictures.

Loretta, If memory serves me, there is some sort of roof heating system that will prevent the ice from building up... insulated wires that zig zag across the bottom of the roof near the gutters. Perhaps that is worth looking into. I'll see if I can find a picture and name for you.

Waving to the rest of the gang.
Later

Loretta, I'm so sorry for you and Christmas being lonely. That snow sure did confine you and DH. Do you have a fake tree so you can leave it up til the 7th? You know you have friends here on the bb so come often and vent. Even those tears help believe it or not. Hope it warms so that snow will disappear.

Roger, I've been eating yogurt but have never tasted Kerfer. Need to buy it at a healthfood store?

Linda, how ya feeling? Was that a bug you got or still the kidney??

Shawnee, love the Chuckster too. I think he is being taken good care of. He looks so healthy.
Peace, Blessings, and Contentment to all of you too.

Hey gang,

Warming up nicely here, of course that means muddy puppy feet but we have puppy gates for a reason

Bub finished his meds on Monday, but the vertigo has come back. Went to the dr for more, so we'll see how he does with this next 10 day supply. Possibility it may need to be a maintenance drug for him, so we'll have to see how much he needs for that in a week and a half. The Old Man sure has been having a time of it, poor feller!

I can't even imagine the devastation is SE Asia.....

Zip, glad you're feeling better! Good idea on the freezer cleanout/defrost. Does Bob need to be armed while standing guard duty over that much food LOL!

Barb, and happy LC Anniversary! WTGG!!! Enjoy your mini vac!

Loretta, glad the leaks have stopped, and hopefully all the sneaux will be off the roof with these warmer temps. We're supposed to be mid 50's today and 63 tomorrow! WOOHOO, love that 'January thaw' stuff, whenever it comes!

Linda, glad you're having a milder winter this year. Must be because you bought the RAV4.....since y'all are prepared, the weather may behave? Hope you're feeling better soon!

Shawnee, LOL on the Chuckster and his box. Seems like every feline I've seen or heard of, they love boxes or paper bags! Our birds are smart here, if one of the barn cats travels to the house, they head for out of reach places to hang out. Prolly makes the cats mad, but they get their share of sparrows up in the barn!

Jacki, glad to see you post! Wish I had your time off to enjoy like that, I know the gbrats gotta love visiting, especially the one on one time. LOL on the instructions!

Julie, great pics of your gang! How's the knee holding up with the cortisone?

Well, all, off to care for the green kids....then last work day of the year!

Ginny, gee I'm sorry about Bub. I sure hope he can get some relief. He was doing so well too. Could be a maintance dose for him. Chin up...

Cortisone shot didn't help one bit. I thought it was but only because I was resting it right afterwards. Darn!! Gurss this is something I'll just have to live with and am resigned to it.

Hi Gang!

Just enough energy for a quick visit. I was at the salt mines today, nice drive in, cuz lots must be off.

Tired though, didnt sleep too good last night, up twice in the night then on alert for the alarm at 6a.m. ready for a nap!

The weather was milder today, but milder again tomorrow brings freezing rain!

God bless those folks in SE Asia. DNiece was in Singapore so they were saved by the Island of Sumutra which took the brunt of it.

Awwwww! Ginny, hoping and praying that Bub will be settling soon!

Wavin to Y'all.

Back for one quick check on my buddies.

Julie, it's just a bug and not the infection.
You have to try kefir. It's really good but if we could only convince Zip to send us some of his grains, it would be wonderfully delicious to make our own. I do understand his concern of sending "white powder" through the mail though.

Ginny, OMG I'm so sorry Bub has the vertigo back. I sincerely hope the next 10 days will do it for him.. and pats for Bub and you and DH too.

Susan, hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

This just ticks me off BIG time.... This 26 year old Miller Idiot appears on National TV to supposedly attract national attention for our little Zoo but he never mentions it. B@STARD... and now this?? Many think he is just in it to market himself and has royally screwed up here.
