Hey all,
Starting a warming trend here in the south! WOOHOO, maybe by tomorrow or Thursday I can throw open some WINDOWS and get fresh air in here All is pretty much stable here with the Bub. He finished up the last of his antibiotics and antihistamine last night. Dr. says that these meds have done about what they can do, so now he'll just be on the prednisone. Now we're just waiting to see what more improvements the old guy will make. He has come a long ways, but does have much more healing to do....time will tell what permanent damage there will be. In the mean time, he seems to be pretty content--well loved and well fed The rest of the gang understands they need to be careful around him, so no vigorous roughhousing in his immediate vicinity. Animals are very perceptive.Hoping all can get over their ailments QUICKLY and start the new year with GOOD HEALTH!!!! Later, y'all!

Hi everybody,
It's still very cold here but it's going to warm up toward the end of the week and might be the warmest New Year's eve in a good many years. No signs or symptoms of the mysterious UTI but my stomach is yuckie from the antibiotic or a bug. I'm off and running today, have to find a new alarm clock because I knocked mine off the dresser the other day. Julie, Glad you are feeling better. So what are you doing today? Ginny, we are all hoping Bub has a complete recovery. Prednisone is an awful drug but sure does the trick when it's needed. How long will he be on it? Push that warm air up here will ya please? Shawnee, have you seen the recipe for "crackers" on the recipe bb? DH made them last night, and they were quite good. It's just almond flour, spices and egg whites. Some are experimenting with various cheeses and spices. Roger, are you OK? You know we worry about you. Waving to the rest of our gang. Later. |

Hi guys,
Major weirdness. This is the second forum that I visited today that didn't recognize me automatically without NAME and PASSWORD??? I suspected "cookies" deletion...but they are all there; ALL zillion of them. I'm getting cabin fever BIG TIME...I haven't even been to the LOBBY in 5 days. Well, tomorrow and the rest of the week will be MUCH MUCH warmer...to 60 here! ![]() I'll go out tomorrow. (Banging on wood as I say, "at least it hasn't gone to my lungs!" <ducking a lightning bolt>) So Linda and I will be very comfortable and Loretta and Ginny will probably be in bikinis (pics please), I hope you Westerners are comfy too...mucho mud in CA. Still fiddling blankees...I think they all work, just too many safety devices to get TOO warm...GOD FORBID we become profligatorily warm (a new word?)

Good Tuesday Julie, Ginny, Linda and All that follow!
Where is Roger????? Do check-in soon! We have -6C right now, -12C with the windchill. Sneux just startin so a blizzard for this aft. Going over to DD's as they are going to see "Spanlish" for the 4p.m. show...how things change! Matinees now! Her DH is off for 2 weeks over the Holidays.I am back to the salt mines tomorrow! Getting up at 6a.m. will be a shock to the ole system after sleeping till 8 and 9a.m. DH is still off work with his weakness in his legs, sees his doc again tomorrow for a follow up with a neurologist soon. He gets a bit depressed cuz he cant do what he used to be able to do. He has always been a fixer-tinkerer-type. He enjoys that, now he just sits in front of the TV, reads the morning paper, tries to do something, then more of the same. He does get out and can still drive the car but walking tires him out. Julie, Glad to hear you are feeling much better! I guess, you guys have done the cranberry-yoghurt stuff eh? Linda, Hope we get some warm air too on New Years. We are going out for dinner with DD and her DH and Ella for an early dinner at a classy place. Ella has a silver skirt with matching panties and a black cardigan with faux fur collar. DD is wearing almost the same, so pics should be cute. Ginny, How wonderful to open the windows for some fresh air! Not here till April or even May! So gotta get to Fla some time before then!I LOVE hearing Bub's progress. It is fantastic, you and your DH have done an amazing nursing job! Loretta, Sorry to hear bout your leakin troubles! Get some extra energy on board, (vit B) ready to give the Insurance Co. a good fight! Gotta get some lunch and then ready to go over to DD's for 3p.m. Hope the driving is clear and smooth. Hi Everyone.
Christmas went well here. My daughter and sil hosted and no familial upsets made the day A ok. It's been cold...but not freezing other than an early morning frost here and there. Mostly foggy mornings. This week is 'my week' then back to the salt mines next monday. Yesterday I had the grkids for the day and the older one, grson, spent the night. I don't have them both overnight at the same time. More one on one this way. And they need a good break from one another Sibling rivalry at it's best. This morning I had to take hubby's pick up into the shop for some recall repairs on the wipers. Surprisingly enough it was done in 2 hours. Can you believe that? Usually it's all day for a 20 minute job. Too early for grson to want to jump and run so I left him here playing games on the puter (he's old enough now to stay alone). Left him with instructions...don't answer the phone and don't open the door.....and instructions of what to do it Viking hordes or rampant biker gangs showed up. He thinks I'm funny. I"m glad to read that Bub is doing well. Poor puppers.....he's got a good momma. Zip....dare I say it????.......go buy a new elec blanket!!!!! Goodness man!! Cabin fever? you must be feeling loads better. It's been my experience that cabin fever is a positive sign of recouperation. Susan, I evidently haven't lurked enough to know why your dh is feeling bad. I hope he improves soon tho. I've enjoyed the pics of Leah...she's a doll baby. Montana, those are sure gorgeous grandkids you have there. The girls are so pretty and Nick is so cute!! Looks like they had a great Christmas. Shawnee.....are you going to feel better enough to have some tea and a chat later this week? Maybe thursday? I'm headed to Costco tomorrow and Royboy will be home on friday. We can't let this week pass without a visit. Waving at everyone and have a great day. |

I DID something...
We defrosted the freezer (an annual do). We find a SUPER cold day and Bob takes the tonnage of frozens down in a big cart (suplied by the building)...he carts it outside while I apply fans and sponges...I phone for the food when I'm ready. Good for another year at sub-zero. Two ducks found deeply buried...and a half gallon of yummy sesame oil (and a GAZILLION Stouffer's dinners.) Oh the lazy guilt...yeah RIGHT! ![]() Ton of chicken guts needs some soupmaking soon. I need a poussy to play with...neighbor's died, so no cats on the floor! Jacki...maybe you are right about cabin fever being a good sign....tomorrow the MAILBOX...what ho! Till the Chinese start making blankees for $4.95, the old ones MUST DO...I have 4 and they willwork or HELL willl pay! Last edited by zip2play : 12-28-2004 at 12:31 PM. |

Hi Y'all
Ooooooooooooooooooooh, Zip...I am SO tempted to send ya the Chuckster, in exchange for your Sesame Oil! ![]() Quite a Plan y'all have worked out for the Annual Defrost. Kinda like a Treasure Hunt as ya near the bottom, huh? Chuckster has packed himself up for the trip... ![]() JACKI..........THANKS for the TEA and THERAPY session. And the love from StarPup too. And for the Christmas CD ! So fun to visit with you. BARB, repeat after me: NO ! no-no... Absolutely no way, NO! (Such a wonderful lil word, and saves worlds of work and crud) Ginny....hope your few work days go quickly, and Bub impoves more. ![]() SuSUN, enjoy your night out! Right-o, those cuties in matching outfits will make spectacular pics! Don't forget to include the gorgeous Gramma too. Spanlish should be a hoot. AW, Montana, sorry to hear ya have the yuks. Hope its not a bad bug. I haven't looked at that Cracker Recipe, but it does sound familiar...I like to add spices to simple recipes like that....or cheese. Loretta, hope your DH is ok today, no side effects from that fall. Julie, are you practicing "NO"....? ![]() ShawneeLast edited by shawneesioux : 12-28-2004 at 07:31 PM. |

Shawnee, OMG The Chuckster looks so cute in that box. LOL You can send him to "aunt" Linda anytime. Odd sort of food for a cat though
Did he pick it out?Roger, it's amazing what one finds doing a freezer defrost. Ducks and Sesame oil sound pretty good. Those ducks don't taste fishy do they? Great idea there with Bob hauling the food out side to stay frozen while the defrost is underway. Humm, after deleting cookies, files and running Tracks Eraser every night, I always have to log back into every BB and two of my e mails every day. Guess I just got used to it. Jackie, it's good to see you posting today. Glad the holiday went well without any family upsets. Enjoy your last free week and then keep your eye out for "spring break". How fortunate that you and Shawnee can get together for a visit and therapy. Barb, yeah sleeping in is wonderful. Just think of what you have to look forward to when you retire. Hope the company was fun. Susan, We can't wait to see pictures of Ella and family. Those outfits sound so pretty. Keep that darn blizzard up there would you please? We are getting spoiled with not much snow this winter and I'm wanting to keep it that way. ![]() Where the heck is Loretta?Last edited by LoveMontana : 12-28-2004 at 08:20 PM. |

LOL, Montana...the Croutons will go with Zip's DUCK...and the Chuckster insists on being served first. Should be an interesting experience for him, living with Zip. Chuckster will find a way to the roof, come hell or high water...
BTW, Zip...the Chuckster doesn't "do" litter boxes, so he will have to be walked to a garden area for "relief"...........Don't worry, he's quite vocal when announcing he wants out for a Potty Break. He will also reduce your pigeon population....When you've had enough, send him on to Auntie Linda. Geez, I sure hope Loretta isn't having a weather-related problem, and family is ok! |
