Now it is just the aftermath...I am staying put agin today! Lazy streak coming over me suits me to a tee!

Good fer you on the booze! I water mine down with diet soda, just a splash of red wine to colour it! DSIL has to look the other way cuz it is usually an good selection of red wine that he buys. I did have a couple of mouthfuls of champagne too! Back to my zillion cups of tea now!
Thank you yes, it was an emotional time with Ella for her first Christmas. We are so very thankful that she is here!

Hey y'all,

Back to the salt mines for 3 days this week then another long weekend. Not really ready for it, but I'll live.

Nothing new going on here. Bub seems to have stabilized in his recovery for a bit, and his meds end soon, so we'll see how much more he progresses.

We should be warming up throughout the week, and into the 60's by Thursday.......that will make for a NICE day off!!!

Hi everyone,

Laid back day around here today. Last night we ventured to Wally world but it was a bit crowded with high school and college kids. Today I want to get to Home Depot and Target but don't know if I will.

My heart breaks for all of the poor lost souls in that earth quake and tsunami. I just can't imagine the destruction.

Susan, it would be quite something if our little grand kids did cross paths some day. Guess we will never know though.

Ginny, it's great to hear that Bub is getting along better. Will they give him more meds if he doesn't progress more?Give the little guy a pat for me.

Good for you having another short week and nice warm weather on the way. ENJOY.

Roger, Target has fleece blankets on sale. LOL I may pick up one as an extra. My little 60" by 6 1/2 feet is good for me but taller people may need a full king size.

Shawnee, Yeah your DS could have taken "mom" with him.Everyone needs sun, surf and the laid back lifestyle once in awhile.

Gosh darn, lady. What's going on with your thyroid again? Hope it's just a quick med adjustment. Please keep us posted.

Sometimes the small towns do have better sales this time of the year.

Barb, I shudder to think of all the deaths and serious injuries when helmets weren't worn. I remember careening down the mountain on regular skis and taking some nasty falls. There were several people killed at some of the ski places here in NY.

Spent the morning at the Dr. AGAIN!! Bleeding again so back on antibiotics for 10 days this time. Linda, whats up with this problem? You and me need new plumbing.

Feel real crappy so think I'll go rest. Try and catch ya later...

I am worn out on storm duty again today. Had to find more buckets for the ceiling leaks. Broke up the ice in the driveway so I could get out. What a mess. IT took me several tries and a push from DH to get up that little icey hill. DH fell he told me when I got back home. He was praying that I would not back up.
Our side roads are a mess but the main roads are just dry as can be. Called the insurance co about the roof leaks but they sure sounded like it is our fault for loose shingles or something. That is a bunch of rot.

Warm up steadily this week. Looking for more water inside the house but at least the drive might get cleared.

Feel bad complaining and feel so sorry and upset about the thousands homeless and lives lost in Asia. What a great tradegy.

Looking for better days. My blood pressure is beginning to regulate though.

Gosh Julie, I haven't a clue as to why we keep getting these UTI's. I hadn't had one for at least 20 years and now this darn thing. I could see if we were newly married and got Honeymoon cystitis ...you know..... two or three times a day but not at my age

Loretta, sorry about your DH's fall. Is he OK? He must have been really frightened that your car would slip backward.

Darn ins. companies

Have them send out an adjuster to see for themselves that it's not loose shingles. It's their duty to inspect.

Boy, it pays to have a PT (in training) at home for vacation -- she straighten out my back and got my shoulder muscles to relax. Stress!!! I knew it all along.

Loretta, wish I was there to help you -- know the feeling of having too much to do -- do you having any willing neighbors?

Has anyone seen Polar Express -- both DH and DD want to see it before we send her back -- it's unusual for my DH to even want to go to the theater.

Any big New Years' Eve plans?? Good old Dick Clark (whom we all remember) won't be there this year!! I'll probably have my champagne and fall asleep early!!

Wow, Loretta...you must be using reverse psychology on yourself: your BP is regulating while you are under this extra stress?!?
Bless your heart, and a triple Hex-Pox on the Insurance companies. They are all smiles and assurances as they sign ya up and take your money...but if you have a Claim, you are treated like a fradulant criminal.....
Good luck, I sure hope you get results without having to beat them into submission. So sorry y'all are going thru this. Sure hope your DH is ok!

Hmmm, the SS-Medicare mess has hit Bob; more $$$ deducted from his upcoming check to pay even more for it, deductables for Part A and B going up...So his private Supplimental Ins. is raising theirs up $18 monthly too. WHEE!
Eventually we'll be forced to pitch a TeePee on George's Crawford playground, and russle his steers....maybe tap into one of his private oil pipelines for grocery money....or get a job with Halleburton.

Barb, your DD won't need to worry bout job security...the whole world is stressed, and could use her helping hands.

Montana, we all are big on self-Dxs...I think my Thyroid is just reacting to too much Christmas stress, too long of a "to Do" List, a spoiled DH, and not enough rest/sleep.
I took today off from most everything, and the world is still turning !!!!....I had accused some friends of being Martyrs for selfish reasons...maybe I was seeing myself in them.

New Years Resolution for me: Just say NO, and mean it.

F%$#! that Medicare mess. Hope this huge problem will be over soon. My mom got a 3% or such raise for SS and Medicare went up as well as her Blue Cross/ Blue shield. Kind of lost something there. Bummer for all of our people on it.
