MVM TUESDAY...WINTER
Hi gang, Winter's here:
Linda, thanks so much for the lovely link to Binghapton University ...gotta love a place called the Hospital for Destitute Inebriates. I can hear parents warning teens at the turn of the century (1900) if you have one more drink, you'll wind up in BINGHAMTON!Some really "advanced" thinking there: 1942 Dr. Hugh Gregory installed as Superintendent following death of Dr. William Garvin. Dr. Gregory institutes Electric Shock Treatment. 1946 Prefrontal Lobotomy first performed at Binghamton State Hospital. RUN AWAY! (Why do so many AWFUL things happen in the NICEST places (and lovely it truly is.) Aren't you seeing Schwartz today or tomorrow???? I see you are ALL avoiding SP-2...I'm glad GInny, Shawnee and I don't have that choice to make with our old-fangled Windown ME. My scanner is working well in spite of the clumsiest software load in HISTORY...I'll dig out an old picture of my "girls" as time goes by. Later.

Good Morning Roger and the rest of our gang!
Whew! Am I ever glad that we have winter today, it may reach zero Celsius today! LOL! The last couple of days were frigid! When I arrived at DD's yesterday, I pulled into her garage and scared a dove? I think it was, it was brownish grey, if flew up and hit itself on the windows in the garage fell to the floor but managed to fly out of the garage door. I felt awful. Then, I saw it later on DD's backporch crouched trying to keep warm. I put out some food for it, but it flew away off into the frigid open air. I do hope it made it. Dont you just want to warm all those creatures. I dont know how they survive in such wicked temperatures! My Granny shift was from 4p.m. till 9p.m. so not too bad. It was mainly company for her and to get over the supper hour, as her DH was out of town. Ella is trying to vocalize now and is watching every word, smiling away and reaching with both hands. We bought her a Jolly Jumper on Sunday but DD wouldn't let us wrap it, she said she needed it right away, as she did with the high chair that we bought too.(from Santa) I have managed to get the rest of the week off work! So I can join Jacki now...no salt mines till the 29th! Hope to check back later! SuSUN ![]() |

I once experienced -15F with a windchill of -45F on top of Whiteface Mountain...believe me, it took a LOT of wine to get me down that mountain on skiis. That's the coldest I've ever been in my 61 years (too bad we can't get the font smaller than 1.) Yes, it went down to -39 and -48 was with the windchill factor, extremely cold! Just check the last couple of days and yesterday's temps up here! I kid ya not! Presently it is -22C with the windchill -31C, so we are a tad warmer today. DON'T leave the house Susan...beg the Mourning Doves
![]() !Jacki, Thanks for the heads up on the two AVERAGE movies. I liked THE BOURNE IDENTITY (the first one) a little...but not enough to sit through it again. Damon makes a pretty wimpy James Bond type even if he is pretty as they come! Weather less furious here today too...woke up to 22F (-7C.) I'm going to let Bob do the drag to Shop-Rite so I can save my steam for the gym. I need to ferret out an old sweatshirt...the weight room is FRIGID! edit: Hey, temperature is up to 30F...on with the SPEEDOS. Looking forward to a WONDERFUL meal on Christmas...Bill is an excellent cook and this year he has a PARTNER to do even MORE work...bring on the CALORIES (usually about 6 cordon bleu DESSERTS alone!) Vicki coming over on Thursday- we'll have duck... she gets 1 lb. pasta...NO SAUCE! ...fer real! For anyone considering moving to New Jersey, from the New York Times: Quote:

Hi Roger and Susan, I guess everyone else is sleeping in today.
Son #2 and his family returned last night from Disney World. The girls had a wonderful time, but Pete said the weather was just awful and a couple of the kids and mom got air sick on the small prop jet from Phila. to BNG. There is an article in our local paper about the Castle http://www.pressconnects.com/tuesday...4s137300.shtml What a shame that it was let go and is now in horrible shape. Who in their right mind would want to take on the renovations? When I was still working there, an estimate was given to the "higher powers" of over 4 million just to repair the roof. Roger, so the instillation of your scanner went well, eh? We will look forward to seeing some pictures. Oh your Christmas dinner is going to be wonderful! We want to hear all about it. Didn't you go to Bill's last year? Tomorrow is my appointment with Dr. Schwartz. Boy am I getting nervous. Susan, MY GOD!! Your temps are almost as bad as the North Pole! Just keep it up there. The radio person just said it's now up to 16 here right now and should reach 30F later. Oh get some pictures of little Ella. They are so darn cute at that age. Enough of my one liners, I need more COFFEE! More later. |

My first scan...My adorable, bright darling Sybil and pretty but stupid Fleur (the gray Persian.) Ignore the SCAN quality... there's a learning curve taking the scans into Photoshop 6.0. Of course the scanner had to be pulled and reloaded this morning. I THINK all is well this time:

YOU KNOW YOU'VE HAD TOO MUCH COFFEE WHEN...
* Juan Valdez names his donkey after you. * You get a speeding ticket even when you're parked. * You prefer to grind coffee beans in your mouth. * You sleep with your eyes open. * You have to watch videos in fast-forward. * You lick your coffeepot clean. * Your eyes stay open when you sneeze. * The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse. * You can type sixty words a minute with your feet. * You can jump-start your car without cables. * Your only source of nutrition comes from "Sweet & Low." * You don't sweat, you percolate. * You've worn out the handle on your favorite coffee mug. * You go to AA meetings just for the free coffee. * You've worn the finish off your coffee table. * The Taster's Choice couple wants to adopt you. * Starbuck's owns the mortgage on your house. * You're so wired you pick up FM radio. * Your life's goal is to "amount to a hill of beans." * Instant coffee takes too long. * You want to be cremated just so you can spend eternity in a coffee can. * You name your cats "Cream" and "Sugar." * Your lips are permanently stuck in the sipping position. * Your first-aid kit contains two pints of coffee with an I.V. hookup. Just had to share. Zip, love your kitty pics. Two little fluff balls. Give em a snuggle for me. I was making my kitty pay her dues last night. She looked as if she needed hugs and cuddles.....seems she didn't agree....but, she got them anyway . Until I was good and ready to quit annoying her(that was her dues). When I turned her loose it became a good old hide and chase game. Behind the sofa---tearing out through the kitchen, into the bedroom and under the bed where we played the 'I'm gonna get you game'. Several rounds of that through the house.....We both had a good time. Waving at everyone. ![]() |

Jacli,
Loved the coffee consumption standard. How about measuring consumption in MEGATONS? I'll have to wait to hug my babies til I get to Heaven...or WHEREVER they are! Linda, Good good luck tomorrow...let Dr. Zip offer a pre-visit Dx: "Too small to operate on but we'll watch it for signs of size increase...in the meantime keep your BP under tight control...that will be $1000." ![]() ![]() Bob got FRIDA out of the NYPLibrary on DVD. I'm excited: I missed it in theaters and was waiting with baited breath for the DVD. Last edited by zip2play : 12-21-2004 at 02:40 PM. |

YEAH! Good News today for my DH, his blood work is clear, we were worried last week when his proteins were elevated. A second more stringent re-testing revealed clear, just the M1 Protein is slightly elevated. He still has the lower leg weakness and is booked to see a Neurologist, in the New Year. At least all the 'bad' illnesses are ruled-out now! Roger I JUST LOVE THE PICS OF YOUR KITTY-ANGELS! Bless 'em! Looks like you had lots of fun, happy memories with those fur babies! Jacki, LOVE the caffiene funny! It sure does the trick though eh?Isn't this nice no salt mines! I liked, "you can type 60 wpm with your feet". "The jumpstart without cables," would have been a good one, yesterday, up here. The CAA, similar to AAA, was on code red with so many call outs yesterday! Linda, Awwwwh! So sorry to hear your Son had poor weather in Fla! DS said they were freezing yesterday at 60F...poor baby, he had to wear a sweater. His blood has completely thinned out! Wavin to the rest of our Gang! SuSUN Last edited by SuSUN : 12-21-2004 at 04:38 PM. |

Oh Roger, those precious dear departed babies are beautiful! What wonderful memories you must have. I have to dig out some pictures of Smokey, and Inky and one of my dogs and share them.
LOL I'm sure that's exactly what he will say, but I NEED to know. Especially if it's in a spot where the stent can be used or if not, does he use the new minimally invasive procedure thru the scope. Then I need to convince him to do it using a local or epidural cause I refuse to go under general anesthesia. Julie, you don't have a governor yet? Geezzzz, Washington is getting as bad as NY. We have not had an on time state budget in 20 years.Susan, What wonderful news!! You and your DH must be so very relieved. Whew! Do you remember the old days when we would use an electric dip stick to keep the oil heated in the cars during the very cold weather? Oh yeah and sometimes a drop light under the hood all night. Ah what memories. Jackie, LMAO at your Coffee funny. Teehee. It's fun to play run and chase with those fur babies. Wonder if Shawnee and the Chuckster do that. Now where are Loretta, Barb and Shawnee? |

I'm here and what a day!!
First, all of you experienced medical people -- meth???? What are the behavorial actions of someone coming off? I've had this young lady who wants help and is going down -- or trying to!! I thought she was having a seizure! She was high for five days straight -- didn't sleep and now has crashed. We had a hour and a half meeting with a counselor today to figure what to do. It gets difficult when her mother is the supplier!! I now have the 12 days of Christmas!! Off and fancy free! Linda, wishing you well on your viswit tomorrow -- I know you must be worried. Julie, how are you doing? Zip, these are cats you had? I never knew I would like cats until we lost our dog (probably won't get another) and have adopted a calico who adopted us a year ago. I've always been a dog person but this cat (Mayo) is down right personable!! SuSUN -- you ARE in a deep freeze!! When DD tried leaving MB yesterday they had an ice storm and she was many hours delayed and didn't make her connecgting flight and finally made it to Denver WITHOUT luggage. It did come in this morning and her "friend" Keith is very nice (pre-med student) and will be going to AZ to meet his parents for Xmas. They are skiing right now in Telluride!! Jacki -- I sleep with my eyes open!! Too much coffee ????? How are you spending your days off? Julie -- allregic to cats? I'm allergic to most but not a calico. Go figure! Waving to all........... HI Y'all
First of all....Montana: Be safe on those roads tomorrow, and you get some decent news. Its true, our Government continues to embarrass us on all levels. Both our WA candidates need taken behind the woodshed for a good taste of growing-up tough love. Loretta, where are you today? Hope all is well with you and family. Hugs to Miss Leah. How many teeth now? Ginny, you too...hoping that Bub continues his positive climb out of his dizzy world. And hope also that YOU are doing ok. ![]() Felt like crap today. Bone aches. Just pi$$y in general. Decided to give up on the "stiff upper lip" and pretending to be human; took Ibu and slept the day away. Jacki...Glad ya had a good day with the Girl. Something special about Granny and DGBratties on a shopping spree. I highly recommend it.Loved the Coffee thing...Never touch the stuff myself HA! I'd have a hard-wired IV dripping Coffee if possible. Life became so much more convenient when all the lil quickie marts made Coffee available everywhere Zip...Your FurAngels are so gorgeous. Memories and pics are the building blocks of life. I understand now why the Chuckster holds such an appeal for you. I've had XP since last Spring; SP 2 since Oct. I use Automatic Update. Barb, I remember you had a Lab...to me, they are a breed apart, like a small person. My "small person" ShawnPup passed a year ago, and now we depend on our old (14) cat Chuckster to give us the warm fuzzies we crave. We also get doses of affection from our GrandPup Burk...then he goes home. Yesterday DGBrat Kaci and I were in a WalMart, watching a young (prolly 6 mo) GoldenLab Service Dog in training...GBKaci was clucking, frowning over the incorrect way the pup was being handled.( Her StepMom recently relinquished the one she'd socialized/trained for a year) . Ol' blubbery me, I stood there with misty eyes watching that darlin' pup. Kaci said I should get into the Pup raising program. Much as it is a noble and "good" thing to do, I fear I'd be too selfish to give up a Pup after a year..Well, I know I would, but just not willing to go thru the heartache. Plus the old ChucksterCat deserves to have tranquility in his Golden Years...he does not like dogs. Good Luck in dealing with the Meth person. My GBrat Kaci's DH is a Drug Rehab Councelor...its a wicked drug. (Actually, this particular drug is ruining our lil town's safety and financial structure.) SuSUN, how do you make the adjustment, ...when returning from warm FL, back to cold CA ? Wonderful for your DH, the bad stuff being ruled out...now to get on with finding the answer and fix. Hugs to lil Oliver..and of course Ella. Do you have a Tooth Count on her? Is she 6 months now? Julie, hope your knee is better, and you are continuing with the Positive Thoughts. ![]() To ALL, wishing you good Christmas Cheer. Shawnee |
