MVM MONDAY, 12/20
Hi everybody,
OWWWW, 11°F outside the window this morning and the flag in the garden is fluffing like mad. I hear the wind chill takes it down to ZERO. We had a dusting (1/2" or less of white stuff.) Guess who is installing his SCANNER today; it's a perfect temperature for indoor chores. Poor Yuchenko...he was a nice looking man and now he looks like a pizza with legs. As soon as I heard, I said it was amantidine poisoning (mushrooms) but it seems they've settled on dioxin poisoning...and he didn't even work for GE! It sounds almost identical to the Arafat poisoning. Waiting for the first cup of coffee <GO BOB!> and fuzzies from my edematous eyes...I can hear the HCTZ calling from the medicine chest: "COME to me!"...But I say: "Get thee behind me, SANTA!"(I gotta finish my drug trial with just Cozaar, otherwise I won;t have enough data for a wise decision. One decision I KNOW is right...stay indoors today with a tiny zip into the gym. More later.

Are most of you in this deep-freeze? Stay warm - grab someone and snuggle up!!
Well, I'm cheese-less but sure did have a headache yesterday. Partying on Staurday night (and not eating much) was fun but oh......Sunday!! Friends of mine have a saying for this: It sucks to be me!Congratulations to Jackie for being work-free I still have today and tomorrow! Then I'll be off until Jan. 3.DD and "friend" are flying in today from up nort' -- MN. DH is picking them up. Waving to all for now..... Barb |

Roger, stick to the drug trial or you'll never know! No cheese yesterday but did find the darn cookies. Chuck dragged them out when DGD was here. I feel a little drugged out this morning, gee do ya think it was the sugar???
Forgot a few gifts. I always do this. Nick's gf for one. Now, haven't a clue what to get her. I guess BAth and Body Works gift card would always be welcome for any girl. Barb, no, we aren't freezing here. It is low 30's but will be in the upper 40's today with rain drizzles. Can't complain! I DO remember those "morning after" days! Not fun and would never go back to them. Off and running......

Hey all,
We're even in the icebox today here too--10 degrees, but it is calm here (so far). I am NOT looking forward to work, it will be a LONG COLD NIGHT on the dock. Trying to figure out how many layers I can wear and still move, not to mention how much lead time I will need to give myself when I need to use the bathroom. Ugh. Jacki, great to see you posting again! Woohoo on your work-free status till next year Have fun with your DGD today!Zip, sounds like you're on a roll.....first with the printer, now today with the scanner. Don't let it frustrate you! Our scanner was a really quick install years ago, Canon, and really easy to use. Our printer is an Epson C82 (I think....would have to look at the model to make sure!) and it prints very good quality. Susan, be careful in those COLD temps! I don't do conversions well, but isn't that like -15 farenheit? You do have an extra blanket etc in your car don't you? Hope you can stay in and stay warm! Loretta, did you brave your walk this morning? If I didn't have to go out in this cold, I sure wouldn't! Linda, so how do you like the RAV4? Was this the first time you've driven it? Glad you enjoyed your excursion with your mom, looking at the lights! Shawnee, how's things going up your way? Getting ready for the buffet yet or will that be knocked out later? I still have to think of a veggie something to carry to a gathering....most likely will just be a veggie tray as I'm lazy LOL Julie, glad your DGD will continue the tradition even though she's farther away! Have fun! I'd love to get a sleep like that....did close on Saturday with about 9 hours and it was HEAVENLY!! My DSisIL has to have the cortisone in her knee as well, it helps her quite a bit. Barb, do you have any projects for while you are off or will you just enjoy the time? Any word yet on who DD is bringing home for the holidays? Pupdate: Yesterday Bubba barked for the first time since Monday. When he went outside, he did his business, then stood there and barked 4 good ones we were wondering if he was ever going to use his voice again. I reckon he said all he wanted to for a while as he hasn't repeated it. Also, he ate a little on his own too. DH did have to hand feed him most of the food, but the old guy made a good effort! Still very staggery and head still quite tilted, but bits of improvement here and there.Off to lurk and start the day.......

Hi again,
NO CHEESE...and tonight's going to be tough: spaghetti with meatballs...but NO PARMESAN A heads up for those with newer 'puters. MS released 5 panics last week: http://www.aunty-spam.com/archives/2...curity-updates Loretta, How's the new machine working out. You've been MUM on the subject lately. Ginny, thanks for the pep talk on the SCANNER. Last time I installed it a couple years ago it was a nightmare to install right. When all was FINALLY well, the 'puter crashed pretty badly and after the REFORMAT, I never got around to facing the task again. THIS time, I will ignore the installation CD and let WINDOWS ME give it a shot. |

Hi Gang!
I feel like a POLAR BEAR today! The mercury went down to -48C last night. Oye the gas bill $$$s! It is presently -39 with windchill, we have reached our high of -27 without the windchill today.I had a few more errands to run today, but I am staying put, warm indoors for now. DD wants me to go over for a few hours this aft and for supper as her DH is working out of town for today and overnight, so she needs some company and little break. So, I am heading over there around 3ish. The SUN IS SHINING, though, so I am grateful for that! It is okay going there, it is getting back in the dark tonight. I do have an overnight bag over there. I am just stubborn and want my own bed.Ginny, How is lil Bub today? Improving some more? Thanks for the reminder on the extra blanket. I have a whole mess of stuff in the car for winter driving, an extra blanket is a good thing! I even have a comforter in there too! LOL! ![]() There are candles, matches, nuts, even olivers stuff too, cuz he is usually with me. Linda, Thanks for the story on the fire, interesting Gerard fought that one. Scarey stuff those chemicals released from combustion! Roger, Great job on explaning the Meds. When I worked in the hospital... 100 years ago, I was up on all the meds and explained them to other staff. Cuz, I cheated, every time a new med came out, I had coffee and lunch breaks with a close friend that was a pharmacist. He explaned all the pharmacokinectics much better than dry reading. It is wonderful to have you contributing your knowledge here. Now, trying to pry DH off Mobicoxx is another thing! Jacki, Where are those reviews that you promised? Wavin to the rest of our gang! Hi all.
Birthday shopping with/for dgd today was fun. She picked out Serafina Kitty. Its an interactive kittycat designed to go with the Barbie characters Princes and the Pauper. http://barbie.everythinggirl.com/cat...bcat_id=250924 Then we went to have lunch out....and Serafina came along with. Meowing, purring and waving tale and all. We went downtown to a country decorated deli and after we ate we went upstairs because Jessica wanted to look at the antique/collectibles there. She stopped at every mirror and admired how pretty she and her Sera looked together. We did some shop hopping downtown for a while then I took her home. Her birthday party and friends were scheduled for 3pm. We had a very nice day. The movie revue is: I Robot---more than ok and less than phenomenal. I enjoyed it. Collateral----phfffttttttttttt a waste of money. Hope everyone stays warm...Yikers!! looks like a lot of cold tootsies there. Have a good evening. |

Gosh Darn!!! It's so cold and going to below 0 again tonight. Hopefully by tomorrow after noon it will warm up to the 30's.
Took 40mg of Diovan and it kicked my butt. I can hardly keep my eyes open so this will be brief. Jackie, those interactive toys are a blast!! My grand brats all have some. Susan, holy Chit!! and I thought it was cold here. MY GOD!! Roger, I ran and did those updates as soon as I saw your link. Thanks a lot. Step away from the HCTZ. You CAN do it.Ginny, it's great to hear Bubba is doing so much better. Bet you were so very happy to hear that bark. I've driven the Rav several times now. I LOVE it. Shawnee, hope you had a successful shopping trip. Tell us about it. Julie, YIKES! Do you buy gifts for EVERYONE you know? That could get really expensive. Barb, Enjoy your DD's visit. Have fun. I'm off to hit the couch and rest. Blah, I HATE meds. |

Just checking in. Have been locked up in the new computer all day. Certain issues to straighten out, but might have them taken care of.
Very cold here in the teens this am. I did walk but was bundled up and there was no wind to speak of so the walk was fine. Big snow on the way for Wednesday. Up to 6 inches Will speak at you all tomorrow. Loretta This nonsense from one of my sons. http://http://www.scrotalsafetycommission.com/ ![]() Last edited by Loretta V : 12-20-2004 at 06:51 PM. |

I'm not Roger but I play him on TV.
I did some updates but not that Service Pack2. Not until next month sometime. Anyhoo, here is a site that describes the place I worked in for so many years. I remember taking classes in that BLDG but worked in the newer one. Click on the pictures and see some great architecture. Get to the last page and click on virtual tour. Wow! http://www.nysasylum.com/bia.htm Last edited by LoveMontana : 12-20-2004 at 11:41 PM. |

Wow Linda, that is amazing. That is wonderful architecture. You certainly could get lost in there. I'm going back to it and look some more. It is so interesting. Thanks for sharing that site.
