Wednesday, Hump Day for MVM's

Hmmm,
Sounds salacious?

Hi gang,

Ginny, I'm so happy that it was a case of labyrinthitus rather than a stroke.
But I've had that a couple times and the last time I WISHED I'd died. I had to crawl to the bathroom, falling even from a crawl, while the world spun in a sickening swirl both with eyes open or closed...like going over Niagara in a barrel. Once there, I wretched my brains out as Bob called the doctor. Bet doggie gets an Rx for meclezine. People get it often after a cold <around December.) Pup will be fine in a day or two.

Shawnee,
Thanks for the three snaps of Chuck...I've got the first one <in the arms of Wellington Bear> set as Wallpaper!

Linda,
Not being able to open Device Manage (from right click MY COMPUTER>System Properties>Device Manager) sounds deadly serious...like Windows got broken. I can't imagine why they'd give an error message detailing problems with a NETWORK on a stand alone computer? Have you tried System Restore to get back to the earliest date recorded...maybe a date when all was running AOK. I'd give DELL a call if still under Service Contract. If nothing else you'll get to hear a voice from Calcutta trying to mimic a Southern DRA-AAAWWWWLLLL!
Give me a call if you wish or alternatively, e-mail me an Instant Message address you use and we can fiddle the 'puter together ...after I figure out how to re-set-up an IM account; it's been a WHILE..
Remember also to dig out that old DELL Resources Disc.

Julie, Barb...ok so it's no cheese FRIDAY, 12/17...through and including no cheese THURSDAY 12/23. I'll try some Julienne celery and carrots...too bad my Foodmart closed, a Jicama would be a good snack.

Loretta,
I'm sorry about your computer too...must be the weather. Well, the only way you can find out about the drugs is to try them- everybody reacts differently to a degree.
Good Luck.

Woke up to 22°F . First Frost WITH A VENGEANCE..."We're not in KANSAS anymore!"

Bob is working a half day, so long and hard at the gym for me (that's the WORKOUT I'm describing )

Roger, ok, vegi sticks it is!! Already had (mind) withdrawals last night. Would you believe I was down 3#'s from yesterday morning? Still want to get off the cheese...just bad habit and need to eat more vegi's anyway.

&^$%# Woke up peeing blood again. Need to get in there and get a urine test before they will give me an antibiotic. I have some pills here to kill the pain but have to get the U test first. Just what I needed on top of the knee.

Shawnee, great pics of Chuckster. He is just gorgeous!!!!!

Ginny, hoping your pup will be feeling much better today.

Loretta, got the new computer fixed yet?

Linda, did ya try the computer BB sites I gave you the other day to try and find a solution??

Hi Susan, hope your day will be good.

Be back later...

Hi to all'

WE have a very nice sunny day here but cold, 16 this morning. The birds are really feeding today. Had a Blue Jay, several cardinals and some tufted tit mice. They are a treat to watch.

Zip I will try the new med Lotrel and see what happens. I was glad to be off the altace by itself. I always would get a rash on my arms. Just a fine rash, no itching or anything else.
I did ask him about a water pill. But he did not seem to want to go there.

Ginny hope the pup is doing better now that he is on some rx.

Julie I am on my old pc. I needed a break from XP. I am too anxious to get things back to normal but they won't be the same I am sure. I need to check out those sites you listed too. I need help with the cd writer business for storing files.
Do you have a urinary tract infection? You sure seem inundated with health issues. on the way for mending.

later folks

Loretta

Ya Julie -- what type of infection do you have? Doesn't sound good -- take care.

No cheese !! I hate to think of myself as an ex-cheesehead!

I'm trying more meat, etc. need to pick up some celery and other veggies. Last year when I was trying so hard to get to goal I would eat a veggie salad --- for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Last night I ate plain greens!!

Hope everyone else is doing well!! Barb

Yep, it's a urinary tract infection! Got an antibiotic and numbing meds for the pain. This has happened so many times in the past, it doesn't scare me anymore.
Went and finished my shopping and now my knee is swollen more. Need to go put ice on it and down a few more Advil.

Barb, I think I'll stock up on vegi's. I know I don't ever want to eat them either, cheese tastes so much better. But we will give it a try. Just thinking about it gives me withdrawals

Ohhh, never had a urinary tract infection...I guess we guys have our plumbing separated by a little more distance.

Got the printer installed (HP 3820)...prints BEAUTIFULLY with all inkjets flowing , but oh, THOSE INSTRUCTIONS...it took me a half hour to figure out how to get the PAPER in. And the software is a friggen nightmare. Right from the get-go, no autoload (always a bad sign) then while the software is finally trying to load WINDOWS pipes in with their OWN way to install....I may have 2 sets of drivers but if I have a conflict I'll know soon enough, pull them both and let Windows PlugnPlay have it's way with me.
Print quality is QUITE wonderful. (and I HAD another USB cable under the bed...thank Heavens, that makes 5 USB thingys and no more ports for me.)
I will never again follow the instruction: "Load the software before installing unit." Just plug in all the wires and boot the computer is the way to go!

Well the gym went poof- all my time and energy spent on the printer and now cleaning up the mess I made.

I'm looking forward to the Cheese Abstinence on Friday (so Lasagna TOMORROW)

Walked to Target...God, I'd forgotten how COLD 25 degrees feels in a high river wind!

P.S. If you want to rent a movie that's LOTS of clever, dark, fun look for "GO"; it was delightful (last night.)

Hi Guys!

Roger,
I hear ya on those cold temps! It was -16C this morning. My car started just fine though. It is warming up tomorrow to a high of -2C so looks like more sneux!
Thank you for the tip on "GO" will look for that one.

Julie,
Ouch! Julie on those bladder spasms! Glad you have those pain meds and antibiotics to chase it away!
Thanks for the well wishes for today. I survived my 1st day of the class. The instructor is excellent but he goes a tad fast at times for me. I was pretty burned out by 3p.m. Thank goodness, it was over at 4p.m. so I managed to get a head start on the traffic. My brain couldnt take any more.

Loretta,
Thank you for that lovely description of the birds, it sounds such a delight to have them around you this late. They have all left this winter wonderland. I am sure they have more sense than humans!
Any projects underway?

Barb,
Good for you and Julie giving up the ole Cheese! I have phases where I eat it, and then I leave it alone for weeks. I snack on nuts, berries and veggies and dont miss the cheese.

Ginny,
I am so GLAD to hear about Bubba!
There is always a miracle at Christmas time and this is yours!
Sending lots of healing hugs for her and hope she is not in too much pain! Bless her!

Wavin to the rest of Our Gang!

SuSUN

Hi everybody,

Roger,YIPPIE!!!!! You FINALLY got that printer installed. Isn't it great? LOL you really followed instructions? I just plugged the thing in and it pretty much installed itself.
You are going to be so pleased to see how long the ink cartridges last.

I really don't think windows is broken. I finally found a way to get to the device mgr. and did what you said, so we shall see what happens.. It was a completely different way to get to it though. LOL I just stumbled on it.
Still can't save pictures as anything but bitmap.

Cold out there isn't it? We got down to 14 last night. Sheesh!

Shawnee, OMG thanks so much for sharing those wonderful pictures of the Chuckster. His little face and bod, just warm my heart. I can almost feel him.

Julie, Bummer on the UTI. Those are just awful!! Drink plenty of water to flush the bugs out. Gosh, your poor knee and now this?

I've been reading the sites and find them very informative. Thanks. I still just don't dare do what they recommend to fix my bitmap to jpeg thingy.

Loretta, I'm so sorry you are having problems with the new computer and XP. I find it just fine but of course I don't do half as much as you do with it. Hope you can get it straightened out.

Yeah, this BP problem is not fun. Hope the new med kicks in and works well for you.

Barb, ex-cheesehead. Yuck on the greens. How about trying some deviled eggs or a dip to dip those raw vegetables in?

Gerard decided to go take the Toyota Rav4 we looked at yesterday for a test drive WITHOUT ME Guess I can't blame him because I can't "shop" with anyone else around either.
Well he made a deal and bought it. We should be able to pick it up by Friday. Whew!! I was getting really, really worried about not having 4WD or all WD on this hill and especially for the ride to Syracuse next Wed.
It's not new but it will do nicely until we decide on what we really want in a new one.

Waving to the rest of the gang.
Later

Linda,

This will sound NUTS and unrelated but try it:
In an I.E. Window, click TOOLS>>INTERNET OPTIONS>> (on the first, GENERAL page TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES>>DELETE FILES (including check the "delete all offline content.") Don't bother with the cookies...they're always tiny files. It can take QUITE a while to dump the files...be patient.

Let me know if that allows saving in other formats than BITMAP.

If it works but only temporarily, you may have to increase the size of your CACHE a bit....more on that if it works.

No Roger that didn't work either. I tried the stuff on this link but not the "Start the registry Editor.
http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/troub-12.html
Don said he would do that when he gets here, LOL if ever.
