MONDAY, MONDAY MVM DEC 13TH
Good Morning Gang!
It is another sneuxy one for us up here. We got another dumping over night, inches, no yards of the stuff piled up everywhere. I wanna move to Florida! Thanks for all those that were asking. DH has been having diagnostic tests for the last month, nothing has shown up yet. Doppler on his legs, his hips, bloodwork etc. He sees his fam. doc every Thursday for another round of tests and results from last weeks. Not sure what to do today, depends on the driving! I reckon the ploughs have been on the main roads, not our street yet! L8ter, SuSUN |

mmmmmMornin' y'all,
Had a really nice lazy day yesterday for DH's b-day--thanks for all the good wishes for him! Did get a few things done, 2 boxes are ready to mail today and we only lack 3 items and a 3rd will be ready to go. That will be the last of the mail-outs. Turning off colder here now, will have to bring the coveralls with me tonight. Dreading THAT event, but better than freezing my butt off. Loretta, good luck figuring that XP out! Hopefully all your data can be transferred to the new system with minimal effort. Don't let it get you too frustrated! Do you get tech support with it? Use it! Zip, booting with that floppy would be a pretty scary thing. For me, I'd just stay with what I have until I was able to get a new system, and then I'd maybe try it for grins and giggles, just to see if it worked (if I hadn't found a new home for my old one yet) Linda, I'm not the most 'puter literate here either, but I've been working around these things since the 386's were the big deal. This was pre-mouse era stuff, function keys did it back then! Susan, on the sneauxy morning.....can't imagine living in that again even though I did for so many years! I sure don't miss it a bit! The coldest it has gotten here is 6 degrees farenheit that I can remember, and the houses here (the older ones) are not built for extended cold weather. When it gets that cold, many have trouble with water pipes freezing, but we've never encountered that here at our house.Barb, so have you found out yet who your DD is bringing home for Christmas? I agree on the kids eating all the time, the big PACIFIER!!! Shawnee, I'd like to see you put weight on a greyhound!!! I've only seen one (the female from Saturday) that didn't look ribby. When I was talking to DH about them, he got this look on his face--similar to 'we are NOT getting another dog' Of course, I KNOW that! But I can appreciate someone elses ![]() Julie, have you considered going to a tanning bed to get in your sunlight quota? If the lighting system doesn't do all you hope for, that may be an option....even though you have on the goggles and don't look at the lights. Years ago when I had time to go tan, I always felt so much more relaxed after I went. I would fall ASLEEP in the tanning bed! Well, off to lurk for a bit.......hi to our lurkers, and all have a happy day!

Hi gang,
Woke to some snow and more on the way. UGH. DH is on his way to turn the plates to the truck into motor vehicles. Hopefully by next week we will have at least a 4 WD winter "beater" to serve us until we decide on which new vehicle to purchase. Got an appointment with that "America's Best Doctors" in Syracuse on Dec. 22. I about fell out of my chair when the girl told me that. Sheesh!! The earliest I could get one here is Jan.6. Go figure. Keep your fingers crossed that we don't get a blizzard. Shawnee, thanks for the link. I did try that but to no avail. Darn it all!! Susan, I don't blame you one bit for wanting to move out of this CRAP! Hopefully this won't last. Please keep us posted on your DH's problem. Poor guy. I sincerely hope they find the cause soon. Ginny, Gee what do you do when it gets that cold about your pipes? Do you have them insulated? Bundle up girl and don't get cold and sick at work. I feel for you. Winter duds are so heavy and uncomfortable. Waving to all, I'm off to Kinkos to make some copies and get the necessary paper work off to the auto ins. com. Waving to all. Later |

Morning,
Off running to work but will take a minute to post to my friends here. Just want you to know I'm doing ok. Meds may be working but feel my attitude adjustment was the turning point. Thanks everybody for the support. Ginny, have always been totally against tanning beds because of the cancer threat. I think everyone in this part of the country has a little of the SADD. Dr. was too fast in diognosising this I feel. We get freezing pipes around here sometimes. Just take your hair dryer to them and they will be ok. Linda, WOW on getting that appt. so darn fast. I can't believe it either. Just never can outguess these Docs. SuSun, sure hope they find out soon what is going on with hubby. The not knowing is worse than anything sometimes. Hate to say it but I love snow!! We very seldom get any here but grew up with it in eastern Washington. Of course around here if a snowflake falls, they cancel school and the whole town practically. LOL For all those who hate it and have it, sorry!! ![]()

Good afternoon......by now, to all........
Let it snow, let it snow --- I LOVE snow!! We have been warning up and now ours is melting and then you have MUD!! Julie, are you sticking with the meds? Hope that helps! Tanning isn't so bad if you take it slow -- Did you notice on the challenge on GB that I'm down 2# -- wouldn't have to do this if I just wouldn't over-eat to begin with. Linda, that is fast for an appointment -- how far is it? I would go ahead of time if it snows - just in case. Ginny -- what do you usually wear if you have to wear coveralls? Are they carharts? SuSUN, more snow and you want to go to Florida? Come on, you would miss it -- how could you have a White Christmas?Later and waving to the rest of the gang ----- Barb

Me again,
Barb, yep, my coveralls are carhartts....they are the bib type as I get too warm in the 'complete set' LOL. Have the Walls in the full coverall too, but just use them around here. Carhartts are the way to go, they will last forever! Julie, I know the skin cancer worry is pretty great, but just for me, if I do it right IMO, then the benefits are really there. Between the heat and the 'sun rays', manufactured tho they are, I always felt great when I came out of the bed. Gotta do it slow and easy to not burn (I think that's the worst thing for you!) but, works for me. L8r |

Hi gang,
I LOST a post by clicking the back arrow before submitting so I'll be short. Ginny, Check to see what BIOS version you have...it's the printed startup screen before WINDOWNS opens...(as an older DOS'er, I'm sure you've used the old PAUSE/BREAK key a million times.) It's the code somewhere between A3 and A11. I think your 'puter is SLIGHTLY older than mine ( A5.) Linda, Good going on that appointment with Dr. Schwartz (lots of Irish surgeons, aren't there ![]() .) Will he see you at St. Joes or in his office? Even in bad weather the 70 miles straight up I-81 should be a snap. St Joseph's is ALSO supposed to be the best vascular hospital in NY State.I burned myself badly in college with a sunlamp and am scared to death of them. I was even blind for several hours...scared S&itless! We have YET to go below freezing in Jersey City ... but they are calling for a couple cold nights this week ion the upper 20's. I am hoping for a mild winter...so far, so good here! TOMORROW MORNING for the "new" printer I HATE when it get's pitch black by 5PM...like being in a TOMB! Bye for now ![]()

I'm impressed with it during the holidays. I keep saying I'm going to cut out the cheese I love but before I know it, down the hatch it goes. Can't figure out what I use to snack on. Radishes, carrots, celery??? Yuck!! Not if there is CHEESE WTG sweetie. Yes, I'm continuing to take the meds. I will for now. Don't want to screw with what may be working... |

You LOVE snow? Yikes! I don't mind it if it would only stay on the grass and not the driveway and roads. Oh well. If there is snow in the forecast for here or Syr. we will go the night before and stay at a hotel. Syracuse gets so much more snow than we do coming off the Great Lakes. Julie, I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better. Oh gosh, I love cheese too and know it's hard to watch portions. Oh well, at least we know how to get it back off. Roger, <faints> You mean you are actually going to install that new printer Yeah right! LOL I hope the ink cartridges aren't all dried up.I'll be seeing him at his office in Fayetteville and hope any surgery will be done at St. Joe's. LOL yes there are lots of "Irish" surgeons around. Mapped it out on Map quest and it's 81 miles from door to door. Been watching the sunset time and it's increasing already. I always thought it didn't begin until Dec. 22 but I do see that the sun rises a few minutes later each day yet. Where is Loretta ?We want to hear all about her new computer and her experiences with XP. Damned computer!! And DAMN that Don. Still haven't heard from him. I know one of his big business clients had a major system crash but ya think he would at least call us. Had to do another system restore and it seems to be working OK for now. Got a flag that said major crash caused by "Display driver for Intel (R)82845G/GK graphics controller seems to be responsible for system instability" ![]() Waving to Shawnee, Susan, Jackie and lurkers. ![]() |

Linda, if I have questions about this puter, I go to Cloudlightdotcom or worldstartdotcom and post on their message bb. I get lots of my questions answered without using a puter man. If you want the sites, email me.

Just a quick check in. I was over at DD's since noon. We had a lovely long walk in the deep sneux. She has one of those prams with large wheels for jogging, so she used that for Ella with a plastic see-through bib so she was all cosy warm and dry under there. The temps were great, we walked up quite the sweat.
Anyhoo, she decided she would go do some grocery shopping if I would stay a little longer, she left at 4:30p.m. and return at 7p.m. Her DH got home at 7:15p.m. I got home at 8p.m. Sheesh! She spent $275.00 on groceries and there is only the two of them and they have a meat order in the freezer. I dont know what they eat but they eat well. This will last her 2 weeks now. DH's doc office called to report an abnormal result in his blood work and for him to go over to the lab and get it retested, so he did this aft. It is in the proteins, gotta look it up in my diagnostic testing book. So at least there is something showing up. I will keep ya posted. Wavin to the rest of the gang! SuSUN |

Hi Y'all
I'm finally draggin' in...I seem to let the day get away from me somehow. SuSUN, good...it sounds like a possible Dx will soon be made re your DH. I knw ya both want ANSWERS, and get on with fixing the problem. LOL on your DD's $$$grocery bill. You have posted some of their dinner party menues, and they do sound yummy and $$$. What the heck, if they can afford it...its their money. ![]() I'm so cheap I squeak...love to be a bargain shopper...then I get to brag to Bob about my great buys, and eat extravagantly too. Going to a Wholesale (Cash only) outlet tomorrow...I want to get a Prime Rib roast for Christmas, but want at a reasonable price. Loretta...Sorry, but you don't have to do it ALL at once. Breathe!...and chat awhile, then go back to "personalizing " it. Thanks for the offer of the FlaxMuffin recipe...I do have some. I just meant that I didn't know what all I had put into that particular batch...I never make anything the same way twice. How's lil Leah doing? Julie, so glad that you've hit upon what works for you, and to know you are better ![]() Now, DROP that damn cheese, and back away... OK, I'll admit it, I love sneaux too...it paints the great outdoors in pristine hues, and covers a multitude of sinful sights (like MUD). Just don't wanna go up against those inexperienced other drivers on the roads. Barb, congrats on those 2 lbs!! Did ya "go clean" or exercise tighter portion control? Montana, BUMMER that the puter guy is ignoring ya. I will sometimes do minor repairs...but not gonna risk any "major" stuff. Great that you are getting an opinion from the BEST Doc...and not a long wait for it either. (Nothing wrong with those fightin' Irish...LOL, I'm a quarter...make that Scots-Irish in me)Zip...good luck with the Printer; use it before it becomes obsolete. ![]() Special to Ginny. Here's a lil bit bout my GrandPup Burk. He goes to work p/t with GBrat at Doggie DayCare. He dumped his old GF Bonnie for a Malemute named Maggie Mae. (Kaci says Burk likes 'em BIG and HAIRY!) Today Miss Maggie wasn't there, so he's moved on to a retired Service dog, a golden Lab. He has good taste!Hey to Jacki....stop being Lurki, and get in here! Miss ya! Shawnee |
