WEDNESDAY on Maintain Mountain
Hi kiddie, kiddies,
For some reason I've been hanging onto a 5 pound upspurt (to 214#) for the last 14 days. This occured the day I went back onto the BP meds after my last "no-drug" trial. My calories have been recorded FAITHFULLY since January and averaged 2238 for the 2 weeks in question. I should lose, but very, VERY slowly at that intake. Well in the long story- short department...I whooshed back to 209# overnight in SPITE of a 2454 day yesterday. Thank God. Lorretta, Win ME and Win XP both have very good SYSTEM RESTORE features (XP more reliable.) You'll LOVE a new machine Linda, Reisist the Norvasc: it is a hateful drug that causes edema (nice for a BP drug, right) I hated the sock line that would persist for 4 hours! To me it felt like an amphetamine- took it for a month. It's also the priciest of the BP meds and controls only weakly. There's NOTHING to recommend it. If you can get by with only Maxide (HCTZ), that's IDEAL and don't even CONSIDER adding anything or replacing it. Oh gang, I got the Hospital Bill after 11 months for my routine overnight after my stent last January...they billed...wait for this... $44,767.83! What the Hell would one do without insurance? (I paid my $250 share but thought they'd forgotten about me after 11 months and I'd get off Scot free) To all a good day...enjoy today, it's the only day we have!

Holy MOTHER OF PEARL Roger, that is quite some bill. God, I would have a heart attack just opening the darn thing. Yeah thank God for insurance. How would one ever pay for that themselves?
I think I'll listen to you Dr. Roger, and start the Atenolol. It is a very small dose and if it kills me, what the heck. Both doctors don't want me to start it until I'm finished with the antibiotic. Julie hope your problems are solved soon and that damned depression lifts. My brother in Montana is in the dumps too. Temperature inversions and post traumatic stress cause his.Well now I have two appointments in Jan. with vascular surgeons in the area, and a I may make one in Syracuse. It seems that St. Joseph's hospital there has an excellent rating and some top notch doctors. We shall see. LMAO Remember I told you all about the wolf lose at our local so called zoo, well that one was captured but another one is out of it's compound.Waving to everyone else. Later |

Hi to all
WOW on that bill Roger. I think DH's bill for a 6 day stay in Cardiac care unit with pacemaker was only $56,000, in that range. I was quite shocked at that. But proportionatley yours was higher. I did check out tiger direct but they did not seem to have what I wanted in a pc. I ordered my new one up today. Julie I sure am glad to hear that Nick's gf is NOT living with you. That was a sigh of relief. That could get too involved. Sure hope your rx kicks in soon and you get out of the pits. Susun I did call the pharmasist here about my hypertensive drugs but he put me off to call the doc. I did read some interesting info on the drugs on line. One of the thoughts was to take your rx at night instead of in the am. My sister lives about 400 miles from me. She lives near Chicago. Her daughter lives about 1/3 of the way from her home and on the way here so she stopped there overnight both coming and going. A nice break for her since she was driving by herself. Linda how small is that dose of atenolol, probably 25. I was up to 100. Glad that you have your appointments set up for January. That worry can drive a person crazy. Shawnee how did that shopping go today? I am beginning to make a dent in the list but have a lot to go. Hi to the lurkers, Barb be careful on that snow. Ginny maybe the rain will quit soon.

Hi Y'all
Geez, y'all are giving me heart squiggles with those $$$$ figures! Day-um, we need to be in the "used body parts" business...and auction off parts and pieces to the highest bidders. Zip can be the Installee. ..for a nominal fee, of course.Bob pays $150 monthy for his Supplimental Ins. to go with his Medicare. Luckily, he had a great work contract (before retirement) that allows me as Dependent to keep my Full med, dental, vision coverage til I'm eligible for Medicare. Julie, I've been reading so much about Helps for depression...as SuSUN says, get out in the sunlight, and take off the sunglasses. (the nix on sunglasses is a killer for me, as my bifocals are transitional, and the world is fuzzy without them) Anyhoo...please try all the self helps you can find on the net (as long as they sound safe and sane) ![]() Today was uplifting here, as we had some sun breaks...now have to worry that it will melt the mountain snows, some flooding expected..dammit, can't win. ![]() Blessings! Montana, glad you're taking the bull by the horns in persuing excellent care. Just sorry ya have to wait. LOL on the wolves. Good luck with the BP meds. Zip...nice whoosh! Maybe Calorie-cycling (hi-low) works for you. Crying shame that certain meds cause weight gain. I whine about my !*&&^$$!! hypo condition that wants to make me pudgy and foggy....always something to contend with. Enjoy that new number. So, where's Lurki, Barb, SuSUN, Goddess????? Loretta...Bob takes two different strengths of Atenolol, morning and night. Lunch with both GDaughters, the younger one (18) on her lunch break...oldest one Kaci works P/t, so she has more time to shop with me. We browsed some high-end stores, they are having some good sales. Also got in a trip to Wally's too. I had to read this twice: I ordered my new one up today. for YOU! Tell us all about it!!!I too have made a dent, but seem to be getting selfish...used to love buying for others, now its all about ME ![]() Here's my self-gifting for today: (younger GDaughter has one too) http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=5313161 In-store discount price $185, plus mail in rebate for $20 gift certificate. LOL, Haven't really played with it yet...Kaci set it up and made sure all the functions "functioned"...then we hit the shopping trail again. As luck would have it, her printer pooped last week, and mine still runs fine, so it got a good home. My old poopy Scanner is going to the boneyard where it has belonged since day 1. To ALL, hoping all your Murphys disappear, and Contentment moves in. ShawneeLast edited by shawneesioux : 12-08-2004 at 08:53 PM. |

Montana..how did I miss this?
Maybe there's hope that we can use Carbquick. Posted by Tom: Re: Re: Carbquick ingredients question... quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Gusgus OK, now I'm confused. My 3 lb. boxes do not list any soy products, but my 1 lb. boxes list soy oil. Here's Netrition's Page for the mix. I notice the same thing with their published ingredients. I'm assuming that the newer production no longer contains soy? The carb and protein counts are different too. Hummh. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The manufacturer removed the trans fats from Carbquik before Netrition.com ever received it's first order, so although the 1 lb box will indicate "partially hydrogenated soy oil", it does not have any of that ingredient in there. As soon as they run out of those boxes, the 1 lb box will indicate the proper ingredients. There are no trans fats in either the 1 lb or 3 lb boxes. They use canola and palm oil now. The serving size has been modified which is the reason why the carb and protein counts are different. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. ![]() Looka this: Wish I had it instead of my big ol George F (which does not have removable plates).....so I got it for DGBrat abd her DH... http://www.cuisinart.com/cgi-bin/ind...i?item_id=GR-4 ![]() Last edited by shawneesioux : 12-08-2004 at 10:02 PM. |

Loretta, Wow and congrats!!! What computer did you get? I'm so excited. YIPPIE for you. Windows XP isn't bad at all if you don't know any better.
Yeah, that's it... 25mg of Atenolol for me and I will start as soon as I finish this antibiotic. Geezzz, these medical bills are going to put us all in the poor house. THANK GOD for insurance, eh? Gerard aka Tod, had a $27,000 surgeons bill for his spinal fusion that didn't include the hospital. Shawnee, OMG maybe there is hope. Lordy, Lordy, Lordy!! IF we can believe the company that produces the stuff. AWESOME gift you got there gal!! And that Cuisinart is going to be a wonderful gift. The supplemental ins, premium Bob pays is about what my Mom pays for hers, but no dental, eye or prescription plan is included. We lost ours when we retired. Damn!! Bed is calling, night all. |
