Ruby Tuesday for the MVM's

Good morning maintainers,

Schmutzy goo this morning...continues 40 dgree fog and drizzle.
We were going to farm Phonecia out to some friends while she bloomed but then rethought the idea because we'd miss her blooms anyway.

Ginny,
Xmas cactuses and African violets don't mind the burning natural gas...only the Phal. We've got 2 CO alarms that have never, ever gone off and we have an elaborate venting scheme that keeps us fine. We use it only when we are home and awake.

Julie,
Sorry the lights aren't working. Keep at it...maybe add a couple more. Make sure it's early, you're nude and close enough to the lights for LONG enough. What is the wattage of that rig you borrowed...are they fluorescent or incandescent? Unfortunately they only HELP (and not always) they don't cure...Patience !

Linda,
Let me check on the interactions when my brain wakes up. Just a couple thoughts. With asthma and albuterol, you MUST quit smoking...
Calcium channel blockers won't get you the kind of numbers you need- beta blockers are far stronger, and the edema from CCB's is always a pain in the a$$ (or pain in the ankles at least)
I don't think the allopurinol-ibuprofen interraction is anything to worry about. Since you found a BP drug that you like it would be a shame to switch since most of them suck BIG TIME!
I'll e- mail you later as I digest the interactions.
The poor guy thought the motel room looked "chapped."...LOLOL (probably the vaseline got splattered from a wild SEX orgy. Some people back in the wild 70's would buy it in DRUMS for a "party."

Waves to Susun, Loretta, Shawnee, Barb, Jacki-Lurki.

Nothing in the cards today except staying dry and warm...we caved and are nice and cozy...it was IMPOSSIBLE to get comfortable with that frozen floor. Phonecia will have to live with it (we have 2 blooms...if that's all, che serra!)

Jacki-Lurki?? How did you know?

Yes, I'm here...just not much to report. Work, rain, work, rain. Didn't start shopping yet. But...there's time.

All those florescent lights at the school keeps the SAD away for me.

Waving at everyone.

Hey gang,

Looked out the window this morning and have decided I will call in sick to work and go fishing in my front yard LOL!!! The ground here is pretty saturated, so it will take a bit longer for it to drain out. If I start seeing some bass jump, I'll definitely call in

Jacki, great to see you posting! How are you liking the new schedule and job? I bet the kids are getting pretty wound up now before Christmas break, so keep that long spatula out and use as needed

Julie, how did the b-day dinner go for Nick? I bet you were one tuckered lady last night!

Loretta, wonderful on your visit with your sister! What the heck, so long as y'all had fun, the sales figures are a distant second. Scrub shirt, huh? Like as in hospital scrub style? That pattern would be fairly simple to make, I'd think, and that style is very popular for the lounging group

Linda, ewwwww on the white ch!t...sure hope we don't see much of that this year. If we do, y'all will have to listen to me whine about the horrible drivers here. It's bad enough when it rains.

Zip, so long as y'all are careful with the auxilliary heating source.....I know you'd miss Phonecia, blooms or not, and it is hard to let a 'chid get babysat. IMO, best to blast and keep a healthy plant for the next spike. Any rumors on a new downstairs tenant?

Shawnee, will the gang converge on y'all this year for Christmas or will it be a roundabout travel like Thanksgiving was? Thinking about a certain phone call....tradition starting maybe?

Well, all, off to lurk for a bit, then see how my lake is draining.

Hi to Roger, Jacki, Ginny and all that follow,

Ginny,
Me too, passed thru my mind to call in sick tomorrow. I do have a touch of a sore throat, but popping Vit C and gargling is helping. I just need more time to catch up. This is always a busy time of year, how do I forget that!
DD is getting quite demanding of my time on my days off. I had to decline today.
LOL! on the Bass jumpin!

Hi Jacki, did I see you fly thru!

Roger,
Brrrrr! on that cold floor. Great going that you have two blooms in that cool indoor climate!

Linda,
Sheesh! What "a slippery customer" he turned out to be!
Hope you get your meds sorted.

Later, I hope!

Hi to all

Still struggeling with my bp also. I was getting spikes in the middle of the the day, 170/100 even on the 2 drugs evening readings would always be low. Doc says this should not be. He suggested that I take on rx in the am and one a little later in the day to get it controlled. Yesterday on the 6th day it was more even but usually around 134/84 etc. Maybe this will work.
I am tired of checking the thing and feel neurotic.
Sis has arrived home safely. We did have fun even if we did not SELL much.

Ginny that would be great to have the fish jumping in the yard. No need to get out in that boat. My DIL works in the hospital, medical records and surgery, so she wears scrubs a lot. She will be surprised. Do you have to be out in the rain at work? Hope not. But if you do I could use some advice on what type of waterproof gear you use.

Good to hear from you "Jacki-Lurki" Glad you get sufficient light at work. Did you hear about my new flower holder, an old barbeque grill. I can hardly wait for spring. Hope you projects are finished at home.

Zip I am going to start shopping for a new pc. Do you think the new ones have a restore option? I copy my data once a month and have had to use that restore function frequently when I mess thing up. It is nifty because it will put you back exactly where you were before the mess up.
Glad you decided to leave phonecia at home. I would not trust her in someone else's hands. She does so well for you.

Linda thanks for that interesting news article.
That fellow must have been a little wacko, albeit harmless. What was he thinking???? What are you taking for that bp?

Julie how was that birthday party? Gheesh Nick's gf is staying there too with you all? There is a service here that will sell your articles for you on ebay. I am going to check that out. I have done that before but it was a hastle. Of course there is a fee.

Barb how nice that your DD will be home for Christmas. Hope she brings a nice guest. Somtimes (experience speaking) that can be stressful.

Shawnee was that new pc of yours a hp? How is your experience with using it. Xp any problem for you?

Susun sounds like you are getting Ella used to that cold weather.
It is good to get out in the fresh air for all of you. When is that next babysitting job? Ella sure is growing. Thanks for the pic of you, DH and Ella. She sure was interested in that Christmas tree.

My son that is here working at the chemical plant is having to work a lot of hours. The union voted to strike yesterday and he is in managment. Some of the workers did some damage to machinery before they were walked out. Praying for a quick settlement and no violence for either side.

Later

Later guys

Good afternoon gang.

I'm still laughing about that nut case and his Vaseline romp. Gosh we have more than our share of crazy people here. Must be something in the water, eh?

Just talked with both of my doctors. LMAO..My asthma specialist said that Atenolol should be OK and my primary wants me to start on a low dose of Norvasc: Maybe I should get a third opinion.

Loretta, LOL another neurotic checking in Right now I'm only on Maxcide for BP control. Most of the time mine is really low ( 98/62 to 124/72 ) until later at night then it's sometimes high ,198/104 or something.

It's good to learn that your sister got home safely.

Gosh, it's a shame that those "workers" damaged equipment at the plant. Those people should be FIRED and fined.

Susan, call in sick. We all need a mental health day off on occasion.

Did you get the frozen rain and nasty roads in your area? It was a bit of a mess here today.

Ginny, LOL I'll be there with my fishing pole. Hope you did call in because, as I said to Susan, we all need a mental health day.

Darn drivers!! Seems the fools forget what it's like to drive in rain or snow very quickly.

Hi ya Jackie, we knew you were lurking. How's the job going? Bet you are looking forward to the holiday break, eh?

Dr. Roger, yeah I know I MUST quit but give me some credit, eh? I went from a three pack a day addict and am now down to no more than 5 to 8 a day. Pretty darn good for me, if I do say so..
Allergy specialist doesn't think there is a problem either. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Yikes, hope your heating bill doesn't go through the roof, but we all NEED to be warm and comfortable. Post a picture of phonecia's bloom, K?

Are you going to apply for SS on line or in person?

Waving to Barb, Julie and whoever is out there lurking.

I'm off to get dinner ready.

Hi Loretta,
Glad to hear that your sister arrived safely. Where does she live?
The weather has done everything today. It started out mild this morning, then we had freezing rain, still do, sneux, hail everything they can throw at us. The windows are being pelted as I type and the wind is howling.

I did plan to go to the local mall this evening for a couple more cards, UK deadline tomorrow.

Linda,
CONGRATULATIONS ON CUTTING DOWN! That is an amazing record. WTGG!

Regarding your Meds. Health Professionals do differ in their opinions. Just use them to consult and then make your own informed decision, just my two cents. Pharmacists too are good to consult when it comes to meds they understand the pharmacological actions more than physicians. Although the good docs do know their stuff disease wise, so good to consult all. Hope that helps. Opppphs! I think I am rambling!

Where are the rest of our gang?
Do you think they are at the Malls? chinka, chinka, chink!$$$

Linda,

Congrats on the ciggie cutdown:clapping:... don't want to nag but zero is where you need to be with any lung disease like asthma.
Coincidentally, my sister called today, They put her on albuterol last month (that allopurinol was a mistype but we can't do older edits) and she is quitting smoking TODAY (or so she says.) Can you BELIEVE the coincidence.
She gets a mixed asthma/emphysema diagnosis periodically and is getting bronchitis 3 months a year, and is now having difficulty breathing unless she sits up to sleep. I hope she can pull off quitting but I've never seen her give up ANYTHING in the 58 years I've known her!

I'm gonna apply for the SS on-line right after the first of the year; spending a morning IN line at the local office has zero appeal for me.

I'm getting steady BP readings under 130 systolic and under 84 diastolic (average is closer to 120/78) with 50 mg. HCTZ and 50 mg Cozaar (losartan.) I would LOVE either monotherapy or no drugs at all; that's why I'm pushing my weight down. I'm getting CLOSE with no drugs (about 135-145/85-92.)
Maybe next week Ill try only the ARB (Cozaar) for a month and see what kind of numbers I get.
Then I'll try only the thiazide.
(I've recorded my BP about 3 timeas a day for the whole of 2004.)

Good evening.....

cold and snowy here AGAIN !! can't complain because we will appreciate the moisture in the spring and summer

I agree with Zip - Linda -- zero is where you should be at!! I've had too many relatives died because they couldn't breathe anymore -- what a pun!

cutting down? how about carbs? did you cut down or go off?

Let's ALL call in sick tomorrow!!

Where's the rest of the gang? Do you all have a life and I don't?

Till the morrow.......Barb

Hi Y'all

More rain for us with high winds coming...Wheee! Just hoping to keep the power on, not to mention the heat.

Geez, I hope all y'all BP patients find the right med combos to stabilize within the right numbers. Mine is the opposite, its ok til I get sick, then it drops.

Lurki...Hoot-hoot, too funny, Jacki (Zip has a way of making Lurki-loos answer up)

Julie, Glad the BD party went well.

Barb, Don't even START with the "I have no life" stuff...as we all recall, you had a very envious Summer!...and fun weekends too.
Enjoy that beautiful sneaux.

Zip, sounds like you will get your BP beat into submission by trial and error. Good luck to your Sis, hope she succeeds.

SuSUN..I couldn't agree more: Pharmacists too are good to consult when it comes to meds they understand the pharmacological actions more than physicians.
Glad to know that y'all have been exposing Miss Ella to the elements right from the get-go...with the outdoor strolls.

Montana, I've been paying attention to your comments re Atenolol and Ibuprofen (800 mg)...Bob takes both and hasn't had a problem.
I'll be grabbing my SS as soon as I'm eligible...but I have to wait a bit more; will be 60 in Jan...hope there's still some left for me in a couple years...not all spent on foreign countries.

Loretta, your DIL will love that scrub made especially for her.
Yeah, I like my HP xp...remember back in March...I got the first one and fought with it for a week..it was just plain a LEMON..so I exchanged it, and haven't had a problem since..(Knock on wood).
It does Restore, but for the Recovery-reformat, ya gotta make your own CDs from their program. Doesn't take long.
Actually, most of the XP stuff is similar to the older versions.

Ginny...2x is a coincidence, 3x is a Tradition!

What's on your Christmas agenda? New toys for the FurKids? I just bought BurkPup a fuzzy snake gift. He threw over his old girlfriend Bonnie at Doggie Daycare, now in love with a lady Malamute ..so tall, he can almost walk under her!
My "life of the party" DS will be wearing flip-flops and cut-offs in Cabo San Lucas at Christmas...but seems we will still have a full house...Buffet style again, as they come and go while making the rounds of other relatives.

Got in a little more shopping today. Will be having Lunch with both GDaughters tomorrow.

A big round of Contentment to ALL.
