SUNDAY MVM kickoff

Good morning kiddie, kiddies.

We're going to the theater this afternoon and then Puerto Rican dinner. It should be a pleasant mid-50's day for us.

I've decided I'll take the SS as soon as I can, paltry amount though it is. We can apply online when we are 61 and 9 months...so SOON for me. If I wait til I'm 66 I don't trust that there will be anything left to claim the way this economy is being mismanaged! (Borrow and Spend; Borrow and Spend.)

Found out why I'm chilly. Apartment under me vacated November 30...no heat and a slowly chilling concrete slab between us weighing 42,000 pounds (I once did the calculation.) It takes LOTS of heat to warm 21 tons of concrete...and then it just dribbles away below. We can't even walk barefoot.
I may have to find a temporary foster home for Phonecia so I can get the free burners on! Spending $300 to look at some pretty flowers for the next month doesn't make lots of sense.

Susun,
Here's a good tamoxifen link:
http://cis.nci.nih.gov/fact/7_16.htm
It doesn't sound too horrific.

To all a good day...I hope your weather is as nice as mine!

Checking in and hanging in there..........Not much going on here. Have my darn Xmas cards to do and hate the job but also hate not getting them so ....... If it quits raining, may go pick out a tree and put it in a pot of water till next weekend. 2 weeks is the limit in the house...without worrying about it bursting into flames. Would like to get a few Christmas decorations out but just not in the mood yet. Still not sure how many people we'll have here for Nicks 19th birthday party tomorrow. I'm a planner, so this is killing me. Have to work most of the day too but he wants salmon so it will cook fast.

I'm a real boring person today and not much to say sooooo see ya later.

Zip, I agree on the heat. Too bad Phonecia is so tempermental! Cold floors can be the pits. You feel cold all over. How's that going to affect you heating bill?

Good Morning Roger, Julie and Maintainers to follow,

It is sunny with blue skies up here today! The temps are -8C, so pretty cold. We are covered with white stuff, so "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!" LOL! It is an exciting season for sure.

Roger,
Thank you for the review on "Finding Neverland," not sure why DD wants to see it with me. When they were little, I used to take her, DS and several neighbours kids to the movies for Fun, as I enjoyed them too. They remember Peter Pan and they have commented on it several times, as a positive childhood memory. It must have impressed them back then!
I love seeing the magic in children's eyes. I wish they put on more Pantomimes for kids at Christmas. I loved them growing up in the UK. I will be searching to take Ella when she is old enough, to give her the chance to say, "Oh know he didnt....Oh yes, he did!" The interactive parts of the pantomime make it so special for kids.
Thank you for the gorgeous EYE CANDY! She is absolutely fabulous, sheesh, yes that heating is a bit much for the nuturing process.

Julie,
This time of year is stressful enough but when you have many other things on your plate, you cant even enjoy the simple pleasures of the Season.
You can only do so much, reduce your load where you can and delegate where you can.
I heard a quote from Tom Brocaw(sp) last night, "I am taking more time to think about fewer things!." I love it! It really sums up retirement and semi-retirement eh?
I think it is great that we can all discuss and decide our retirement income plans here.
Sending more hugs your way Julie

Wavin to the rest of the gang and hope to check back later!

Wishing you all a wonderful day off with nothing to do!

Hi Y'all

Brrrr, cold here but no sneaux so far.
Went to our local lil Christmas Parade last night, the kids in it got rained on!

Zip, Your Bloomer is a beauty! Hope ya don't have to farm out Phonecia. Glad ya liked the Boiler Bay pic. It is gorgeous country there. Some a$$hole is poisoning dogs on the OR beaches...He/she deserves the Death Penalty!

The Chuckster is finally over being "abandoned" during our trip...he was doing some classic pouting. (GBrat Kaci was the drop-in caregiver, he loves her...but wants 24/7 attention)

Julie, the last few years we have been getting a BroadLeaf Fir....they last soooo well, stay so fresh, and do not drop needles.
Usually a week is enough for us, but I'm willing to go longer with this type of tree.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DGS. Hope y'all have a great party.

SuSUN, your Miss Ella will have wonderful memories of her growing years; lucky to have YOU for a Gramma.

Hey to Everyone. Be back as time permits.

to All.

No Julie, I don't delete you!! I can see who it's from. We have to have our computers at work purged just because of the viruses. Too many to count these days.

If you have a boring life, then mine is boringer!!

Finished Xmas cards, two trees, lights, some decorations, wrapped all presents to be sent in the mail and..... now I'm out of energy and need to go watch Denver play some football.

Snowed again....... pretty!! Barb

Y'all relax and enjoy the day!!

Hi skinny kiddies.

Spent this afternoon at our twin niece and nephew's 9th birthday party and am just now unwinding from all the people and noise.
Not much we could eat there except cheese, ham and roast beef. They aren't into low carb and boy I'm getting hungry now.

Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow but I don't believe that weather person one bit.

Roger glad to hear you are applying for SS early. It isn't that much difference in benefits is it? Mine will be only about $300 according to the yearly statement they send.
Humm, lets see. You can apply on Dec.31 HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm three months behind you.

Julie, Real trees always frightened me too. There are far too many fires during the holidays around here. Those and wood stoves, ugh.

Happy Birthday to NICK.

Susan, it's wonderful to see such joy in the little kids eyes during the Christmas holiday. Just looking at the expression on little Ella's face in the picture you sent made me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Shawnee, Oh poor Chuckster. They certainly get upset with us when we leave. Inky used to pout and ignore us for a few days. Wouldn't even look at us unless he thought we weren't watching but we would catch him taking a peek on occasion.

Not sure if we have broad leaf furs in this area. I'll be off doing a search on line to see if they are available here.

Poisoning DOGS SOB does deserve the death penalty.

Barb, Two trees? Can we have some pictures? I have two also but they are both artificial and fairly small alpine type.

Waving to Loretta, Jackie, Ginny and lurkers.

Shawnee,
Love the Gift Idea! I think that is just Grate!
I think that is a wonderful gift for that person posioning the dogs!
Were ya shoppin online or at the stores?
Thanks for the kind words re: Ella's childhood memories. We as Grandma's, can try eh?
I LOVE your New Avatar! I will have to start looking for a new one, on some of those sites. Can you guys please share some sites with me again! I want something Christmassy.

Linda,
DD has 3 trees, grouped together, with an almost lifesize woodsman! They are artificial and heavily decorated.
Needless to say, I have a tiny tree for DH and I.
Yep, you are sure right on the babysitting, I am booked solid now every weekend.
Glad you liked the pic of Ella.

Roger,
Thank you for that great site on Tamoxifen, covers everything.
I have the script, just wondering........I might get it filled tomorrow!
Hope your supper was delicious, not like the flaming beef!

I have the dentist in the morning, for a file and sharpen! Then, walking with DD, the dogs and Ella, I sure need the exercise, as you guys probably noticed from my pic of last Sunday.

Wavin to the rest of our gang!
