THURSDAY on MAINTAIN MOUNTAIN

Good morning everybody,

Linda,
Ugh on the kidney infection...I geuss they put you on Bactrim(Septra?) for the infection. That usually works fast...but oh, the FRIGHT of red urine
Where is that aneurism? Infra-renal abdominal?
Anyhoo, 2 cm. doesn't strike me as much of a dilation at all...bet they just fiddle your BP meds and say leave it alone. On the other hand, you're such a small girl and I guess should have proportionately tiny arteries.
We'll get together if you come see a NYC cardiologist. (That intra-vessel stenting is sort of new so you need a crack team at one of the best cardiological hospitals (St. Vincent's or NYU maybe.)

We are going into town today to see KINSEY (where I get in at Senior prices ...AMC movie theater.) We'll eat somewhere afterward. THe theater is near the KOREAN RESTAURANT part of town (fashion center) but we are flummoxed in front of a Korean menu. I once ordered a beef dish so hot that Bob ran to the bathroom on one bite...I waded through it because I LOVE hot but this was too hot for me...It was a beef casserole literally SWIMMING in chili peppers in a flame red sauce ...OWWW...OOOH...the waitress even pre warned me but I thought that was because she thought I was an ignorant Occidental , but she was just a caring person and didn't want to see two grown men CRYING in pain!

The Macy's main old Herald Square store is near the theater and we need a new recliner...their furniture department is breathtaking (entire 4th floor on a full square block)...our Mall store has opnly a couple LANE recliners (junk) and some mattresses as an afterthought!

I hope everybody has a nice day.

Happy Anniversary again Carol...this time on the REAL day!

Ok, here is the recipe Linda but I doubt you can covert it to LC. I've used this mainly for an appitizer party but is good for dinner too. It's definately NOT LC.

Baked Meatballs in White Sauce

5 slices of bread, crumbled
1/2 cup warm milk
1 lb ground beef
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 small onion, grated
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 clove garlic
3 tablespoons margarine
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Soak bread in milk, then add next 5 ingredients and mix well. Shape into 1-1/2 inch
balls. Cut garlic in half and put in frying pan with margarine and brown meatballs (or bake in
oven for 10 minutes at 350 F). Put meatballs in an ovenproof casserole with mushroom
soup and 1/2 cup of milk and bake at 350 F for 35 minutes.

Off to my therapist appt. then work a few hours and then ahhhh a massage!! Full day! Have a good one.

Mornin' y'all,

Had to dig out the winter jacket for work last night.....BRRRRRR!!! it sure was cold on that dock. It has now become the official whine season for the Dock Goddess.

Zip, Phonecia looks great! Hope you can find a way for her to NOT blast this heating season! Love all the aerial roots and the nice, healthy leaves--you're doing a great job with her!!!

Linda, that would have scared me silly...never had a bladder or kidney infection or peed blood that I'm aware of (and I think I'd know!). Hope they get it taken care of quickly for ya!

Julie, great that you got to see the family! Never had meatballs like that before, sound really good! Let's see what our resident tweakers can do with it.....you never know!

Barb, we get a good bit of gray weather during the winter here, but it doesn't seem to affect as many people here. I reckon since we get a little more daylight time than the northern climes, SADD would be a bit diminished? Of course, with the gh, I can get in my light quota in comfort when I check and water plants!

Susan, so how many days are you going to be able to work from home now? Can you tap into your work email from the house so you don't get covered up when you do go back in?

Loretta, I bet the cold weather has jumped on y'all as well.....hope you bundled up well for your morning walk! Last night was supposed to get to 28 for us, but I didn't look--was scared to!

Shawnee, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! WTG, U2! Hope you're enjoying your day together!

Well, y'all, off to lurk for a bit, then get moving. Have to go in a little early today as one of the dayshifters is on vac. Unfortunately it's the one who actually WORKS! Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Morning all,

Roger, When I asked the ER doc about a cardiac/thorastic surgeon, he said Vascular surgeon so I'm assuming it's abdominal. I'm off to pick up the CT scan now and am seeing my doctor this afternoon. We will go from there.

Oh how I envy you the wonderful furniture stores in NYC. There used to be a place called Saturday's Child back in the late 70's that I just LOVED. Have fun shopping and enjoy "Kinsey". Can't help ya with the Korean menu choices. Be careful.

Julie, Best of luck at the therapist's and enjoy the heck out of that massage.

Humm, Let's see... 5 slices of bread can be either low carb or flax meal bread.......
Substitute:
our version of cream of mushroom soup for the canned variety
1/2 cup of cream for the warm milk
real butter for the margarine
easy enough, eh? I'll work on it and let you know how it comes out.

Ginny, Bummer on the OT today but heck, the extra money is always welcome.

Cold and damp here and there is snow forecast for sometime tonight or tomorrow if you can believe the weather person.

Waving to everyone else.
MOre later ...

We're off.

Linda,
I really don't think you have anything to worry about. I've always thoughtthe standard was for an AAA to be about 5 cm. to become "surgery-worthy."
(Unless the 2 cm is measuring the bulge differently from the overall vessel diameter.)

Later with a report on KINSEY!

Roger, you were right of course. The lamp I bought and will take back isn't enough light. They loaned me a box, 10,000 B?? Going to try it for 2 weeks, then stop and see what happens. Hate to spend the money if I only have it a little, which is MHO. So much has happed ed in the past 12 days that it just threw me into full fledged depression. The therapist is helping me know how to deal with DD. Hopefully the new med will work, so far so good on the RLS symptoms. Had a little last night but that could be just my norm.

Ginny, My orchids aren't doing good. It's just too cold in the winter in that garden window. Lots of light and it is thermo pane (double pane) which helps but....

Linda, Wishing you good luck today at the Drs. Will be keeping you in my prayers too.

Linda, about your avatar...did it sparkle before you sized it? I cannot resize any clip art either as it takes the movement out. Not sure how to do either. Just thought of that.

Oh my, what a WONDERFUL movie KINSEY is...Liam Neeson is superb in the lead and the story of his life is funny, poignant, and extremely important.
Looking for SEVERAL Oscars!

The AMC theater on 42nd Street a block from Times Square is a 25-PLEX...can you believe? All the seats are high recliners with full pillow support at the head, stadium seating, and retractable arms (for cuddling...or the morbidly obese!)

Oh we did seafaring crap the last 2 days: rentals of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and MASTER AND COMMANDER...those are the LAST of the swashbuckling movies I'll ever watch again...both big, expensive, long BORES! The only good thing about movies like this is the inevitable Captain's PARROT, which usually has the best lines!
<Gawwwk, Polly want a cracker?>

Well, you poor deprived sun babies -- the door is unlocked!!

It DOES make a big difference!

Linda, I know nothing about what the problem is but I went to a medical friend and heard that this is a standard procedure. Didn't want anything "bad" to happen to you. You probably need to put some meat on those bones -- 95 is pretty thin! my opinion only

Are you getting some help Julie? I hate to take meds for no reason but sometimes they do help. I've been taking Lexapro and Wellburtin since the fall and they DO help!! (haven't you noticed my cheerful dispostion?)

Anxiety is my biggest problem -- and with the profession I have chosen (Special Needs) I always run into more problems than what I could face!!

Zip, I tried watching MASTER and COMMANDER once and couldn't get the idea of the whole thing (of course, I could read the book!)-- and I fell asleep watching -- so that might be a problem!

OK -- all of you medical experts -- what is CoQ10? I've heard that 100-mg. to 150 mg doses are effective. Also, how much magnesium do you take? Since I have doubled my dosage to 400 I've had no problem with arms nor leg twiching at night!!

That's as much medical information for one day -- clear, cold, snow-bound here in sunny CO. It's been below zero every morning this week. I love it!! I think that all those whimps should leave the state and go home!!

Only those from MN understand where I'm coming from.........

Yes Barb, I AM getting lots of help. I went to a Mental health Doc on Monday and she put me on Wellbutrin and am seeing a therapist too. What is Lexapro? The doc said she may still put me on a antianxiety drug too but first things first. This antidepressant is doing ok so far, no RLS. I take extra Magnesium at night to help the RLS.I get 100 mg. in my multi but take a 400 mg. at night. They say it helps. To be honest, I haven't seen any difference. But I do take Neurontin for my RLS every night too.

Just heard on the news, maybe snow HERE this weekend. Every time they predict it, we don't get it!!!

HI Guys!

Had a busy day today. I am sooooo tired!

Ouch! Linda, what is going on?
Hope you are in no pain!

Roger, Great going on the movie. Thanks for the reviews.

Ginny, Yes, I can access my work email from home, still takes a long time to read it all. Cant file though into my email folders, so still stuck with some of it.

Julie, Good Luck with the new lamp! To lighten things up, pardon the pun, you could say you are the Lady with the Lamp, or just call it Aladdin's Lamp. Sure hoping it does the trick for you. YOu deserve it.

Where is Loretta????

Hi Barb, wavin to ya! Enjoy your SUN shine. I get to missin it at the end of January mid February!

Wavin to Jacki and All,

SuSUN

Hi SuSUN and am understanding that lack of sun all the time. It does make a BIG difference.

Julie, I take Lexapro for anxiety and Wellburtin (I just started). I just heard from my doc that they are a good combination. My pharmarist also agrees. It has really made a big difference in my life!! You should have seen me before -- I'm really OCD! I can now leave clothes lay on the floor and NOT panic! Of course, after two days I'm cleaning up.

Linda, how was the doctor appointment?

Later, Barb

Back again.

Got my CT scan and saw my primary. I agreed to see a vascular surgeon here before I make an appointment either in Cleveland, Baltimore or NYC. I just NEED to find out all about my particular "time bomb" first. Found a couple of prospects that sound like they know what they are doing in the big cardiac centers.

Roger,
It is small but there is a possibility that it could rapidly balloon out. Guess it's wait and see for about two months and another CT scan, ultra sound and what ever.

It's about time you got to see a really good movie. Comfy seats, eh? Do they decontaminate the pillows on those seats? This paranoid one would squirm and look for head lice.

Susan, I posted late last night all about what happened.

I am wondering about Loretta too. Hope all is well with her.

Julie, no my avatar didn't sparkle and I didn't have to resize it since it wasn't very big to begin with.

So glad that Wellbutrin isn't causing any problems with your legs and I sincerely hope it will work wonders for you.

Barb, LOL at your medical friend. Yeah, I suppose it's routine if you are doing it and not the patient. Think of lying there, helpless, while they cut you from chest to pubic bone, hook you to a heart/lung bypass machine and hack a portion of your aorta out. With any luck mine may be in a place where they can do the stent, but I don't know yet.

I take about 150 mgs of Magnesium right now. Don't' think I need more yet. This explains CoQ10 much better than I can.
