MVM TUESDAY
Good morning fellow maintainers,
Still at 213# this morning. For me it's 2 things: the BP meds and I'm constipated (like ONCE in the last 10 days). I'm even taking metamucil so THAT is swelling with water and adding weight. I will add some daily beans can see if I can get a whoosh. The metamucil will SOON do it's work !Julie, My light rig consists of the following: A well mirrored SMALL bathroom with: 1. a regualr built in light bar with 5 bright lights (mixed fluorescent and incandescent), 2. an ADDITIONAL light bar from the trash compactor with 5 x 100 watt incandescents (I added a cord and drag this in when I need it)...stood in the corner. 3. the head of a 500 watt HALOGEN torchier lamp (with a bent hanger attatced so it can hang over the bathroom door 4. A shoplite with 2- 40 watt flourescent tubes. This mix of fluorescent, halogen and incandescent gives a pretty full spectrum taken together. I try to get a couple chores done in the bathroom while the lights are on but it's blindingly tough! Best to just sit, nude withe eyes closed just popping them open for a split second occasionally to get some of the light to the retina! Rotate your body occasionally to get the light everywhere (back of knees supposed to be good because of thin skin and lots of blood.) About a half hour as EARLY as you can manage it is best (like between 6 and 7 AM.) Susun, I think your DH could manage the statin WITH the CoQ10. Some drug companies are even looking for a patent to package them into one capsule. Linda, How long has your mom been sliding? It's tough to deal with;, but my mother and grandmother (96) stayed sharp as a tack til their dying days (as did Bob's mom at 100.) The men didn't fare so well. ![]()

Good morning everyone. Can you all believe I'm up this early? Awake but not fully functioning.
I'm waiting to hear from the computer guy. If he doesn't need to go out of town today, he will come here and fix my bitmap thingy. If not today, tomorrow. Not being able to change my avatar to something more interesting is driving me NUTS. Roger, that is quite some contraption you rig up in your bathroom. Are your walls all mirror? Are you getting enough water in? How about more exercise? That sometimes relieves constipation. My mom is sharp as a tack. I think you may have meant Ginny. Barb, <slap> So why didn't you get that water in? YIKES!! It's below 0 in your area already? Julie, Boy I see what you mean about those lights being so very expensive. Can you do what Roger suggested and rig your own up? It doesn't sound too difficult at all. Hope you feel better soon. Shawnee, What is the average snow fall amount in your area? I know you get lots of rain in the spring, summer and fall but was curious about snow. Waving to the others. Back when I wake up. Waist band is tight So what goodies have you been into? Are you baking and not telling us about it? |

Hi Y'all
OK, Barb...I will (temporarily) stop my b*tchin' bout my cold weather, since you have REAL cold Be safe on those roads, practice defensive driving.Montana...yup, I did lots of baking for those two T-Day Dinners..and enjoyed them way too much! Our snowfall here varies drastically...I think the longterm average is about 3"...but some winters, none. (Here in town, we are at sea level). ....the mountains surrounding town get plenty. I do remember one winter over 20 years back, we got 18" in town...WOW, that was a lot for us. Also remember at least 2 Thanksgivings with about 6". Our July-Aug rainfall is sometimes zero, and we are begging for it as we have temps of 90-100+*. LOL, we do have variety. Bob and I will be celebrating our 30-year Anniv on Dec 2. (Guess our first, shorter marriages were for practice )Hey to Loretta, Ginny, Jacki, SuSUN, Zip, Julie ..and Lurkers. Be back later, Suzy is yelling. Shawnee |

Sorry Linda,
I meant Ginny's mom. When I'm the first poster (and it's early) I don't leave the previous day's post open and I "wix my murds!" One wall is mirror in the bath...I could add more but believe me, the zillion watts make the place look like Laguna Beach! We were supposed to go near freezing overnioght but it really didn't go below 40. A lovely, sunny 50 right now. Mess predicted tomorrow. I think we'll go see KINSEY tomorrow at the one theater that will give me senior rates (AMC calls 55 year olds "seniors.") I can't decide whether to take SS next year or wait to let it get to a more tolerable level. Break-even point is supposed to be around 75??? I don't think I WANT to make it. I think I'd like to go to work for about 2 years to beef it up...but what job pays very well and requires NO effort! Maybe a LIFEGUARD... :![]() ???Decisions, decisions! OK...just looked it up: We can't apply til we are at least 61 and 9 months. Too early for me...A LITTLE! ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by zip2play : 11-30-2004 at 10:07 AM. |

HI to all
Zip drinking enough water is one sure way to cure that constipation. It might take a day or two. Your body gets confused with you not taking those bp meds and then taking them again. I started my SS early and glad I did. I applied over the phone for it. They set up an appointment time and everything was done that way. Yikes I got my medicare card the other day. That is BITTERSWEET. That lifeguard job sure won't be year round there in NJ. Shawnee your weather sounds so similar to ours. Could be identical. HAPPY THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY in case I forget by Dec 2. 30 years that is wonderful. ANy special plans. Sorry that your waist is feeling a little tight with those pants. Barb get that snow off the roads and the temperature up some and I am on my way to slap you. Water sure is important. Be careful out there. Linda hope you get your pc back to working right. I do like changing my avitar. How is Gerard doing with his rash? Have his feet heeled up? Julie do you take and B vitamins? I think they have been known to help with keeping a good spirit. Company coming on Thursday. My sister is coming down for a few days. we will be doing a craft show on Sat. our first. Hope we sell some of this craft. Just washing clothes today and had a nice visit with son #1 this morning. Later |

Hey gang,
Rainy, rainy and rainy here today for us, and when that goes away it will bring the cold. Sheesh. Maybe we should have moved farther south??? Zip, drink more water. Gotta get that all flushed out, and water is the best way to do the trick! I need to drink more too Julie, we used shop lights with warm and cool flourescent bulbs for our plants, so I think a few of those fixtures with the highest lumen bulbs you can find would help. No expert on SADD's, but if it's a lack of natural light exposure this could do the trick without the high priced fixtures and bulbs. The plants did really well under the combination for us. Linda, decorating already? Wanna do my house too? I'm starting to think about digging out the tree (small one) so we can have the lights. I do very little decorating and only at Christmas time. Loretta, isn't it great to be able to do what you want when you want! I bet you enjoyed the visit with DS! Are you getting this rain too? Shawnee, CONGRATS on your 30th anniversary!!! Definitely something to celebrate, and not very common any more. Hugs to both of you for making it work! Barb, ICK YUCK on your temps! I reckon it is the price you pay for the beautiful area you live in, but I'd have me a winter home ELSEWHERE! How bad does it have to get before they close things down? Don't forget your sunglasses for driving in that sneaux...I remember how blinding that can be! Well, all, hope I don't drown at work tonight! These heavy rains can really make a mess of our dock and various parts of the plant where the roof leaks! To all, a good, content day.......

Shawnee, HAPPY THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!
Roger, I bought a Verilux 27 watt lamp. Will put it by the computer as I always get on first thing in the morning. I go see the therapist in the morning and will ask if this is good enough. Can't see spending $250.00. I got this floor style on sale for $89.99. Ginny, have a note in progress for you but haven't had time to finish it. Rain, rain go away, come again another day!!!! Barb, (((slap))) will that do it? Geez Linda, what happened that you are up with birds? Very unusual!!!! Loretta, I just take a multi vitamin. It has 100% of the B's I need. Off to get my hair cut but ya all be good today. Too many of us having tight jeans.

Julie,
That 27 watts won't do a thing. You really have to think in terms of at least either 1000 watts incandesent or 250 watts fluorescent. Remember, it's the SUN we're trying to duplicate! |
