Thanksgiving Day Eve
Getting close to the wire now. I am about ready. Working on the stuffing today and some faux sweet potato dish. Company is not a lot of trouble, in fact he has been working for us cleaning the leaves off the roof and fixing some things for DH. I should have left the boat cleaning for him.
Julie the pictures from your trip are so inviting. Your sis sures seems to be delighted to be there too. All that nice white sand. We are so fortunate to live here in the USA and have so much to be thankful for. We enjoy so many freedoms that the oppressed countries do not. We have plenty of food for our tables. I guess it is more than just Turkey and Football games. Wanting to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving before the travelers hit the road. Be safe. Will check back later today. HAPPY THANKSGIVING Y'ALL!
Sending wishes that everyone is safe and that you all can push yourselves away from the table before you feel full! I was at the salt mines today, tired! No big weightloss today, maybe 1/4lb after 1.1/2lbs I am happy so far, so almost 2lbs gone. Linda, I too am babysitting on Saturday, for the 1st time, if DD feels I can do it, after she watches me on Friday night. Sheesh! I have to be tested! Wish me Luck and I will wish you Luck! Shawnee, Thanks for the tasty dessert. I have had a few blueberries today but I will add the cinnamon to my repretoire (sp) of desserts. I mix crystal lite sprinkles in whipped heavy cream too as a tasty dessert. I dont mind the jello with cream too. I know the yoghurt is much healthier for me, so I try to eat it as much as I can. Hope you enjoy your T day treat! Loretta, Great going on the DS clearing leaves and cleaning jobs etc... They are young and built to do those kinda things eh? Would you share some tips regarding babysitting for the first time! Did you find a pattern for crocheting a tablecloth. Would you be using the fine cotten. It may take a long time, unless you work quickly. Roger, Thanks for explaining the gift certificate thing. I thought I had missed something! CONGRATS ON THE 1LB LOSS! Thank you for sharing the Prunes stuffing. Lovely alternate ingredients too! Do you keep your pig close to home, for truffle sniffing time? LOL! Wavin to Ginny, Jacki, Julie, Barb and All! Hi Loretta and Shawnee, and everyone.
Welcome back Julie. Good workout day today but little else...a PERFECT day without hassles. Poor MACY'S PARADE will be a big mess tomorrow...they are blowing up the big balloons tonight in the rain...ecch! They drive 'em through the Lincoln Tunnel from Hoboken where they are warehoused and them puff them up with a ZILLION cubic feet of helium just outside Central Park...the balloon filling on Thanksgiving eve is usually a big party but I doubt it will be much tonight! Happy Holiday everybody. Last edited by zip2play : 11-24-2004 at 04:46 PM. |

NOW it's Thanksgiving EVE!!
Glad you mentioned the parade Zip, almost forgot -- it it going to rain tomorrow? Are you going? Will you wave? I'll take a pound anyday -- as I age, I'll settle for almost anything!! Well, been cooking up a storm today. No work until Monday and I usually don't cook so....... I made Loretta's almond cheesecake and will put berries on top tomorrow. I also made Dottie's pumpkin pie and her cheesy green bean casserole. I'm making a dressing from the recipe board with sausage, lc bread , cranberries, spices, etc. it looks real good. Turkey and a bottle of Gewurztraminer should do it. We plan on hiking through the woods in the morning to find a tree to cut down. Put up lights today also. Will always get Xmas cards out this weekend. We haven't done much of that these past few years and I feel sorry for the small faithful group sending us their news every year with no return from us. I found some nice ones with deer, elk, mountains, etc. can't stand too many of the others anymore. I feel that if you send a card it should say some thing -- rather than just a name. SuSUN, how does it feel to be back in "cold" country? Let's hope we can all push away from the table tomorrow. that should give me a chance to eat the leftovers all weekend! Shawnee, many blessing to you also -- don't try to count all of them tonight! Julie, the pictures just make us green with envy to be in white sand and wonderful company -- did you place that water bottle on that table just for us??? Happy Thanksgiving to all to come in this merry little group - your inspiration, encouragement, and insights are a blessing for me this year. Last year at the end of Dec. I made goal and am thankfull I maintained for almost a year. Before I get tooooo emotional about this I better sign off and go read some murder mystery. Barb ![]()

Hi gang,
We just got home from sister in laws Thanksgiving Dinner party. It was very nice and everything we ate was legal. Loretta, yes we are fortunate to live in this country and have much to be thankful for, despite some political differences. Enjoy dinner with your family. Shawnee, LOL he had to check up on you, eh? Hope everyone enjoys the desserts. Susan, guess our kids forgot we did raise them and they LIVED. Roger, I had forgotten the balloons were stored in Hoboken. Bummer on the rain. Hope it didn't spoil the party for those folks. Barb, Haven't sent cards often but I agree they should "say something". One year I found some that had drawings of all the various evergreen species found in this area. Love that kind of card, but they are difficult to find. Waving to Jackie and Julie and wishing each and every one of you a wonderful, content and Happy Thanksgiving. Oh and good ol Jeff must have lived in this area, eh? Jeff Foxworthy on Binghamton New York If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 36 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in Binghamton New York.
