Just a word of encouragement to everyone to not let the Thanksgiving holiday derail your low carb wol. Try to get in some extra exercise and lots of water.

Reducing my calories has helped me get to 105.25 as of Monday morning. I plan to keep with the lower calories through Wednesday. I will definitely eat lower carb on Thanksgiving but will be eating more food. I will make just one serving portions of things like lc sweet potato casserole and lc stuffing for me so I won't have leftovers. Anyone else have tips for a low carb Thanksgiving? Vickie

This is my first Thanksgiving on LC and I plan to make all the normal food for my family. I like cooking better than eating, and I have no problems staying away from the desserts. When I sit down for a meal with other people, I never overeat - that just happens when I am on my own and eat out of boredom.

One change I will make is to switch the green bean casserole to crisply fried fresh beans with some bacon; I think the kids will like this better anyway. And, a spinach salad with walnuts and orange slices.

Mariasol, those green beans sound delicious. I am making the regular foods for my family. Also I will be having Thanksgiving lunch with my sisters and other family members. Then our adult kids and their spouses and my grandson will join DH and I for Thanksgiving dinner. Vickie

My 5-Day Abs Firm tape arrived yesterday so I started it last night. I certainly felt it afterwards! It is not long, about 6-9 minutes per day. I measured my stomach right around the belly button so I hopefully will be able to measure the difference. The reason I had stopped doing abs years ago was that I never saw any difference, but this tape guarantees results in 10 workouts, and I really want to get rid of my pooch, so here goes!

Other than that, my leg never did get worse, I guess I was just being a pessimist. I am having a serious problem keeping my fingers out of the peanut butter jar, I wish my kids didn't eat that stuff or I would throw it out!

I saw a pecan pie recipe over on the recipe board that I think I will try out for Thanksgiving too, that brings me up to 3 desserts!

No real tips here for Thanksgiving. Just be good, stay legal, and have a good one! Corgi girl - Congrats on the continued weight loss. You must be looking mighty skinny!

gina,
I am impressed by people that can work out at home. Let us know how it works out with the abs tapes.

I do 100 stomach crunches as part of my gym routine. I have well defined muscles but still a pooch on top of them, which is why I would like to lose another pound or two.

Gina, I will have to think about getting that abs tape. I have several ab exercise (mostly pilates) and I use a large exercise ball for crunches.

Wednesday will be really busy for me. I will be attending a Thanksgiving program at my grandson's preschool early in the morning, then some last minute shopping and last minute house cleaning. Then I need to do some baking and other food preparation.

Well, I was going to make a sugar free one layer chocolate cake with sugar free icing made from sugar free jell-o pudding mix, but decided to make an oat bran sugar free, apple pie with diet margarine oat bran crust instead, since the left overs of that won't bother me and my husband likes it alot more than chocolate stuff. He is diabetic, so he only eats one slice of pie per day anyway. I'm taking my usual veggies along to mother in laws house too, and the turkey is in step with what I eat each day anyway. Just the travel to get to her house will cut into my exercise time on the bike, so have to walk outside of her house instead of sitting around the table all day.

I too am going to have trouble fitting exercise into Thanksgiving Day, may have to skip. I remember years ago when I belonged to a Spa Lady gym they used to have a "Turkey Burner" early Thanksgiving morning, a 90-minute high intensity aerobic class, then you could eat with no guilt!

I have no trouble making myself exercise at home, I have been doing it off and on for years. When my treadmills break, I usually join a gym for awhile, but then get fed up with the hours or the classes and break down and buy another treadmill. I use some free weights as well, and now just added the abs tape, not usually someone who does the fitness tapes, but willing to try to get rid of the pooch. And after day 2 definitely feel the burn!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We certainly did, and my LC desserts were a hit, Cheri's pumpkin pound cake was scrumdidlyumptious, as was the pumpkin cheesecake (can't remember whose recipe that was). The LC dressing wasn't as good as the real thing, but I think it would have been better had it been in the turkey, but I put the real thing in there for DH and guests. I skipped lunch so I could have double helpings of everything (including both desserts) and happy to say it paid off in no scale change this a.m.
Cheers!

Gina, glad you liked Dottie's Pumpkin Pound Cake. It is my favorite lc dessert. Well I did gain over the last couple of days and was back to 110 Fri morning. But by Friday night I was down about a lb so I know it is water weight and should come back off in a few days. Vickie
